At the beginning of the year I got into cryptocurrency think I would make a lot of money if I did a ton of research and learned everything about crypto. So I bought $4k worth of bpt and prl. I would say my stack is worth about $1000 now with a 75% loss. Everybody on this forum talked so highly of those coins thinking it would sky rocket one day but they are just getting so low that I know I will never get my money back & I don't want to lose it all. I guess I'm here to say don't trust anybody on this forum that thinks they know what a good coin is and most differently DONT trust any future "10x coin" on here. Truth is this is mostly a game of luck. I'm out, cashing out so I don't lose everything!
At 75% loss is really a bad idea to cash out. Is better to hold surely market will bounce back so just hold on You never know when Lambo..  At least we have been seeing a little spike in the bitcoin and ethereum. to take the loss will become a very bad decision. I have lost around 70% from ATH but I still hold my bitcoin and any other coin in my wallet. Because I never try to do anything with it. I try to earn more and more dividend as much as possible to recover my lost. |

Why does coins prices fluctuate so much and it is never been constant making predicting price much harder and much riskier and holding on to coins can be the best way right now.

For me, in my own opinion the value of a coin is tied purely to the laws of supply and demand. In other words, the price is determined only by what the market is willing to pay. If more people want to buy bitcoins, then the price will increase. If more people want to sell, the price will decrease. Secondly its value can be volatile when compared to more established currencies and commodities. Yes, that's simply the main reason, why the price of a coins changes so quickly. If there's no demand for it, of course the price will just go down and when people started to offloading the coins into the market, obviously the price become cheap as well and the opposite happen is there is a high demand. That's why you will hear people saying how volatile this market is. Well, because of volatility, traders are profiting, so we must learn how to embrace it as well. Some times supply and demand doesn't give a lot of impact. In fact there is a lot of manipulation to the price. Someone with huge money worth multi billion dollars can pump any coin to the moon. And this will give an impact to the market to bring FOMO and more people will try to rush it as fast as possible. |

I also have felt this. When there is NEWS about "Big Money is Coming" or "Institutional Giants are entering" I could see a 1% pump and 25% Dump. I didn't trust the NEWS anymore, whales rekt the plebs, and every single outlet that has crypto on it is controlled. I'll wait till crypto is regulated. The news can be manipulated, but the manipulators have an important role to control the market. Remember there is a lot of big news has already written in various crypto news sites. The news doesn't mean a lot to the audiences. With so many funds and the manipulators can control the market. |

I think it is most likely right, if you see the charts than there were a large number of bottom shorters that appeared at 6300 the number of total shorts almost hit the all time high from back in feb, i think this was largely due to the fact that funding rates for shorts on bitfinex/ bitmex had become and perhaps still are pretty cheap. In general from what i have seen these are tell tale sign of an upcoming short squeeze which is probably thwhat happened with the pump to 6800. this is another bulltrap. But it has been passed. The daily volume trade of bitcoin goes down a lot. But it looks like there is a reason behind that. Remember mtgox trustee has a lot of bitcoin to be dumped to the market. It's a bit difficult even bitcoin can't be considered as security. . |

I really don't know what to do here. I invested a little over $3K in the Eroiy ICO back in March at $0.12 because I was really impressed with their team and their white paper. They had a really solid group of advisors and list of partners. A lot of the ICO ranking sites gave it good reviews. They promised that they would list on 10 substantial exchanges. Their white paper was impressive and sounded like they had a good plan. I read about it on different message boards and it seemed like their team was active.
Well almost as soon as the ICO ended on March 31st, then it seemed like all information and discussion just stopped. Team members just started disappearing from their site, including their CEO and founder, who just went MIA. They listed on exchanges, but only 3 that I've never heard of nor have any of my friends traded using them: coinbe, BTC-Alpha, and nemChange.
Then their price started going way down and I started hearing things about it being a possible fraud or a scam. I just checked and its down to $.0008, so it looks like I lost all my $3K and it's only been 2 months after the ICO. The weird thing is their Telegram is actually still increasing numbers and promoting, but when I started asking any probing questions, I got banned from it.
What is crazy is that there is still a link on their page to buy tokens and there are still changes occasionally made to the team as I see partners or team members have been removed at different points.
At this point I really just advice on what to do because it seems like this whole thing has been a fraud and all I have are 26,000 worthless Eroiy tokens.
I know what people say about being careful what you invest in and I thought I was as I looked a the site, read the white paper, did research. I even expect to lose money on occasion with ICOs, but never all of the money this fast. My $3,125 is now worth $20 and even if I tried to sell, there isn't any volume most days, and only finished it's ICO March 31st and raised $25M!?!
I've seen some comments from other people also saying they got swindled here and figuring out what has happened.
Can anyone give any advice on what I can even do? The whole situation is just making me really mad and depressed.

you can't do anything with your amount. That team was definitely scammed the broad investors through listed the coin on the crap exchange which not all of the investors can access it. I think that the developer has access or it's possible if that in their region. You can't do anything with it. Sounds another scam project in my opinion. |

No, surely no new ATH in 2018. We are already halfway through 2018 and all Bitcoin did was going down with no signs of a bottom yet. This is perfectly normal though considering we have a crazy run from $1000 to $19K last year. Comparing June 17 vs June 2018 also still return a 3x-4x. This is a normal corrective rally and don't expect it to end soon, let alone making new ATH this year. New ATH just like a dream for this year. I was expecting that to be happened in the next year. The bitcoin chart in this year is being so far to get another new ATH in the future. Without help from the tether and it will be so difficult to be reached by bitcoin itself. It will not happen this year and we should be patience. |

There is not enough enthusiasm in crypto to see 10K BTC at the moment. Most dudes are swing traders and Institutional money will not entertain investing into a market whereby the Whales manipulate.
The equation has changed and you need to grin and bear it for the moment.
Best bet is to buy a coin with good fundamentals that has enormous potential.
Many coins have half baked tech and will be taken over in the future.

Ethereum has started from the bitcoin open source code but vitalik was creating so many differences from the original bitcoin open source code. That's called smartcontract right now. The tokens were reflecting your shares. This is why shares can be called as a security. Some projects have been releasing its product. |
