5921  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Quality post really ? on: October 27, 2019, 03:29:14 PM
There are many definitions of quality post but in this forum i think the quality post is when you read all the previous posts in the topic and post something which is unique and relevant to the topic and that is not already been answered in the thread. If you only follow this one rule, most of your post will be quality ones.
5922  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is Gemini a good crypto exchange? (BEGINNER) on: October 27, 2019, 03:08:23 PM
I currently have a binance account but cant purchase coins that I would like to due to them not being available there. coinmarketcap suggested gemini so im wondering if this is a good place for buying? im a complete beginner so all opinions will be appreciated.

Which coins are you looking to buy/sell from Gemini. Gemini only offers trading in 5 or 6 coins and all of those are avaible in Binance too. You need to tell us which coin coinmarketcap refereed to use Gemini ?
The volume of that exchange is so low that you will not find any good experience of trading. Better stick with binance or other popular exchanges.
5923  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: delete account on: October 27, 2019, 02:50:03 PM
Can you please delete my account

Bitcointalk does not allow to delete you account yourself. You can request theymos if you want to delete it with a valid legal reason which you do not have because the name is not your real name. Just forget it that you ever make any account and leave it as it is. That's the best way to go about it.
5924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Warning ! Don't handover your fund to third party. on: October 27, 2019, 02:29:18 PM
<...>
I also saw that post yesterday. Honestly this should be a lesson to the victim though I feel sorry for him.
People should learn that;

- Don't trust Pump signals, they will dump on you
- Don't trust Trade signals, they will dump on you.
- Never pay any money to join "VIP trading groups",you will be scammed
- Never spend a cent to buy most of those trading bots... most are scam.
- Never spend a cent to buy trading scripts/ Betting scripts... it's probably scam or malware
- Never spend a cent to join matrix schemes
- Never spend a cent to join Ponzi schemes

There is no easy way to make money... why hand it over to a stranger to make it for you?
Don't be lazy and dumb, or else you will part with your money/crypto sooner than you expect.

There are a lot of groups on social media which offers to trade on our behalf. Since trading is considered as a luxury and easy business and everyone want to do it by sitting at home and earning quick easy money. But most people fail in trading and then they look for such groups which can do trading on their behalf. Believe me such groups even if they are real and genuine will lose money in trading and will scam you. They will never pay you from their pocket if any loss happen in the trades.
5925  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽️ Match365 | 💰150BTC inviting bonus 💰 | Well designed Soccer Betting App on: October 27, 2019, 07:15:11 AM
I did not know that there are countries in which betting sites are prohibited. Of course, you cannot violate the laws of the country of residence, but I believe that betting on football and casino is not the same thing. And everyone has the opportunity to use a VPN.
If I'm not mistaken, Match365 isn't a gambling apps per se, but a simulated gambling one. Hence, it should bypass these countries' restrictions. We are playing with MC, not with the "real money."

I've downloaded similar casino apps in the past that use energy/worthless tokens like Zynga. The idea is to buy these virtual currencies to play.

I have also download the iOS app just now and when i click on deposits, there are three options.

MC
BTC
Coupon

Other then the bitcoin, can anyone explain what are the other two options ?
5926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the discipline help in gambling? on: October 26, 2019, 06:42:50 PM
Discipline is a must because that will make you safe when you are gambling, with discipline, you will not be greedy and you will be able to accept loses easily and that will make you limit your money risk as well that you will only based on what you can afford to lose.

Gambling is a risky activity, this requires discipline to minimize the risk, if you a game plan and a good discipline, you'll be able to enjoy gambling despite you are not sure that you will win most of the time.

To some extent, yes disciple do help to maintain the rhythm in the gambling but again the success in gambling is only dependent upon luck. Suppose i am very discipline and come to play gambling with all the precautions in mind, play with limited amount and lose in the end. Another person come to play without any plan, just randomly play and win. Discipline is good but not mandatory for success in gambling.
5927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 7 Days to Vegas - A must see movie for gamblers! Share your thoughts about it. on: October 26, 2019, 05:02:27 PM

If you have seen this movie then you would love what gamblers would do just to win about everything! The best movie I've seen about gambling so far! Share us your thoughts. Smiley

Note: Did watched it on Popcorntime.

Source:imdb

I will watch this movie for sure but its rating is only 5.2. I hope it will be an interesting movie. But you can watch the trailer before downloading.
Anyone knows more movies related to gambling can list here for everyone.
5928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I lost 1.4 bitcoin in a wallet so startign again on: October 26, 2019, 04:30:19 PM
Hi,

Yeah, I really am that stupid. I mined 15k worth of bitcoin back in 2012/13 and then lost the usb pen with the user credentials Sad Anyway, im gonna start from scratch in my free time. I was just wondering, what tips people have that are doing well from it at the moment. I havent attempted it for 6 years so im sure its a very different landscape. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Smiley

When i first read your post, i thought you lost 15K bitcoins because you mentioned 2012 - 2013 when the value of bitcoin was so less. Anyways if you had still hold them, you would have a good lot of money. Mining bitcoin is not possible today for a common man and if you started again to earn bitcoins it will take a lot time to collect 1.4 BTC.
5929  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Telegram channel bulk invite members? on: October 26, 2019, 04:18:54 PM
Hello, are we able to bulk invite people from other Telegram channels/groups to our Telegram channel? Do you know any programs or websites about it?

I am not aware of any such tool if its exists even, but it will be unethical to make people enter in your group without first asking them.
You should not violate the moral and privacy values by using such tools.
5930  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BEWARE of Telegram Groups you have been added unwillingly!!!!! on: October 26, 2019, 10:06:30 AM
For telegram users, if you want to avoid such a hassle of being added on random groups:

1. Open telegram app
2. Go to Settings
3. Click Privacy and Security
4. Under Privacy, click Groups
5. Select My Contacts,  instead of Everybody
6. (optional) Under Add Exceptions, you can add users on Never allow too

Explore the Privacy and Security page to see what else you can do (ex. Manage your Blocked users, Who can call you, etc).

This is the repeated problem for both the telegram and whatsapp group as people add us without our consent to their groups.
Is there any settings for whatsapp also so no one can add us in that too ?
5931  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No Bounty For Newbies .. A new war on: October 25, 2019, 08:24:28 PM
I'm a bounty hunter, the victim of many scam projects, after a long period of work, they pay rewards that are tokens of no value or nothing happens. This is alarming and needs the help of the community to evaluate good and bad projects

You can do nothing about it and it will continue the way it is. All the ICO claim to be worth investing and we cannot perfectly conclude if the ico will fail in later stages or not. This is a sort of gamble or risk whereby you spend some of your time in the bounty task with the hope to get good returns.
Hope is the only factor which makes the people keep on hunting the projects.
5932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Doing This? on: October 20, 2019, 06:36:07 PM
I want to ask all of you, do you share or give very private things (private key, passphrase, password and else) of Bitcoin to your family? I ask like this because I think if something bad happens to us (I personally hope it doesn't happen), it would be better if we pass down all the things from bitcoin that we have to our families. For example, when we have an accident that makes us comatose state (I hope it won't happen) at the hospital and we need medical expenses, it would be better if our wife or children can take money from the bitcoin that we have to use as our medical expenses.

I personally bequeath all my bitcoin knowledge to my family. I told them my bitcoin assets, how I made money from bitcoin, and also told them how to access them. All of this I did so that all of my bitcoin assets could be useful for my family. What about you guys, do you guys do the same with me?
If you want give your private key or password to anyone in your family it's alright choose the people you really trust so your assets will be safe what ever happens. And I think if you give that  to trusted person make it sure they know how to use it. Nothing is wrong if you give to one your family member what your private key like you said it will be helpful to them what ever happens to you in the future.
It is very difficult to transfer a private key even to a family member. In this case, there is no 100% confidence that the money will not disappear from the account. Here's what I don't like about cryptocurrency, that only 1 person should own a private key.

Private key is the most important thing if you own a crypto currency. If you share it with someone or even with your life partner, there is every chance that you might have a bad day with him/her and he /she may misuse your funds. It is very difficult to completely trust anyone and then share the key with your loved one.
5933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do economic indicators favour Bitcoin ? on: October 20, 2019, 05:55:17 PM
In recent months , we've seen :

1) Yield curve flip
2) Trade Wars
3) Quantitative easing ( more money printing )
4) Experts talk up gold

What does this all mean for Bitcoin ?

I discuss here : https://youtu.be/UPyo0n51qJA

In short, all those things point towards the financial crisis in the big markets. The moment the world feels that printed money is losing its value (Dollar in particular), they will have only one option and that is to convert their money into bitcoins. This already happened in Venezuela and Iran, where their local currency fell too much and they converted to digital currency.
5934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not trust New wallets with your fund on: October 20, 2019, 05:46:17 PM
This is correct. I do not have confidence on new wallets. Sometime they asks api or private keys which looks suspicious. In the wold of scam projects, we can not trust easily on new projects and thus new wallets. It will take longer time to trust and to gain confidence for today's new wallets.

There are many new ICO which offers crypto wallets and their own crypto coins. They will ask you to download their wallet and later when you find that you can transfer your bitcoins into it, you transfer your coins there and those project onwers can anytime scam you.
This is very important that you do not transfer your funds to any new wallet, no matter how much you are convinced by your friends or anyone.
5935  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New scam technique on Telegram. on: October 20, 2019, 05:31:05 PM
I have a lot of experience with this kind of scheme but the only thing Ive noticed when they try to reach into you. They often victimized those people asking like very basic question on the Main telegram group. Then they will suddenly pop up. With

Any problems with youre transactions? I can help you, (Then started to ask vital info, then if youre careless that's it)

So better yet dont answer in Pm regarding sensitive case such as transaction related.

Sometimes i think that they have so much time that they keep on monitoring the telegram channels and look for such newbies whom they can easily trap. This telegram scam technique is now very old one and if people still get victim to it, this means they do not pay attention to whats going around them and do not have sufficient know how of how they can prevent their presence online.
5936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IMPORTANT NEWBIES ADVICE! For your own safety! on: October 20, 2019, 05:10:54 PM
I just saw an youtube video from a guy a few days ago about Cryptopia and his Pac coins and he speaks about how he was call an support number !
But finaly they got no real support phone number and he called someone and after a few min they asked about to install or open up team viewer and they connected to his pc.
And looking around on his exchange accounts and all and at some stage they asked for his coinbase account and wanted too look there .
At this point he just cut the phone call and the internet connection for his pc.
Little scary and at the other side realy stupid to let unknowen people get access to your Computer.

Just a short story about how things can get with team viewer and nobody should let anybody others access to the pc as only yourself.

That person video may well be false too as Cryptopia exchange no longer exists and no one can get Cryptopia support. Really there are too many ways to scam people and the only reason they often succeed in there mission is that we are careless and do not think what we are doing.
5937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just turned 40 today and want to be part in BTC Community (Beginner) on: October 20, 2019, 04:59:40 PM
It's my 40th birthday today and I am completely new to crypto since my country of origin is less progressive.

Anyway, I equipped my knowledge 1st before entering into something, most specially with money. I knew the basics on how the system of blockchain works and how the consensus is achieved and how the miners or stakers are rewarded. I have only one concern or doubt tho'(i guess) that why there are plenty of coins out there? I know you'll answer they have different usage like xrp/xlm for easy payment methods, steem for social media websites, eth/ada for smart contracts, etc...

If you look at current system with gold and fiat, can the crypto space be the same? Gold=BTC and FIAT=Altcoin?

My point is to remove the competition from BTC and other crypto in finding the one who dominates all, why not BTC be the Gold and Altcoins be the FIAT...

I'm so sorry for my English and if the thought is very confusing, please anyone can rephrase my question freely if you know what i mean.

NEW to crypto and aging as well but very excited for innovation one specially an innovation to recreate the financial system (or fully ditch fiat), i hate the idea of printing money.

Gold should not be comparable to bitcoin or fiat becasue Gold is not a currency while Bitcoin /Fiat and altcoins are currency. You can buy things with bitcoins and few altcoins but not with Gold.
Since you are 40, which is not a big age though, why you have come here ? To earn the bitcoins or only to get the understanding of the eco system of the digital currency ?
5938  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to tell if a transaction is legit? on: October 20, 2019, 04:48:46 PM
However, how do they know if my transaction is valid? What if I have 1 BTC but decide to send 2 BTC, how does the solving of mathematical problem verify that I do not have 2 BTC? What if I just purchased 5 BTC from Coinbase using fiat, how will anyone know that I have 5 BTC?

If you have 1 BTC in your wallet, your wallet will not let you send 2 btc. If you are talking about double spending, that is not possible. You can confirm and see every Tx ID on the blockchain, even if it is not yet confirmed.
5939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Coins are a Threat for Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2019, 04:36:30 PM
Let's discuss the potential effects of stable coins which are bound to usd or eur. We usually use them to avoid the volatility or short bitcoin in a way. There are many stable coins in the last year. By writing threat, I didn't mean issues like tether's issue. I mean, they are not coins, they are just usd and eur.

Stable coins have zero threat to the bitcoins. Coin is stable only if is artificially controlled by a central body and hence stable coins are centralized ones. You should not compare the centralized coins with decentralized ones. Tether has already big issues associated with it and i do not understand why people still keep their money in tether.
5940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tete vs Casimero on Nov 30 on: October 20, 2019, 04:21:08 PM
Casimero is a good fighter but if we base these two boxers, Tete has a slight edge in terms of power. I like casimero to win this one though.

Zolani Tete will be the favorite when he will enter the ring on 30th November in Birmingham. He will defend his title however in his last fight he had an shoulder injury which he say has been fully recovered. It will be hard for the Casimero  to match him if he, tete, is in his full form.
