5941  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 06-Nov-2017] on: November 08, 2017, 12:27:47 PM
Paybis and Vdice also paused  (Means End)
ICE Rocking also Ended today.
Bonpay will end on Monday.

I wonder a lot of campaigns are ending and no new campaigns are coming  Shocked

I did see a couple of the ICO campaigns said that they ended early because it wasn't as effective as they had hoped. That may be partly as the product they were promoting wasn't that interesting, but also I think it has a lot to do with the content of the posts. The majority of traffic that comes to the forum isn't from forum members, it comes from search engines. If people are posting about things people are searching for then Google will give this site a very high ranking. If people are just posting meaningless nonsense then it isn't going to show up in searches. The more selective, higher paying, longer running campaigns seem to be quite happy continuing.
5942  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: November 08, 2017, 11:46:24 AM
Yeah i am happy with what ive won im not a greedy person, but from the start i know no game is fair they dont have games like this for everyone to win thats not the point, so as i played i noticed its like the game is learning how i play for example if i rolled in a certain sequence that made me win eventually it would make me loose every time no matter what the difficulty or bet, like the 1.5 difficulty for example when i won on high it would normally be high again i won about half a bitcoin doing that but now no matter what i do manual or auto i lose it all

Welcome to the world of random numbers. It's a provably fair game so you can read up on that and then verify your rolls. Luck just comes all good or all bad sometimes and the human mind tries to make order where there is none. Like others already said the house edge is lower at specialist dice and casino sites so you will be a little more like to lose here. Freebitco.in gives away a lot more and that is financed through the house edge so you trade one for the other.
5943  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Big wins at FreeBitco.in on: November 08, 2017, 11:36:23 AM
Is anyone here won on lottery anything , even the 10th prize?? I don't believe that nobody post here after he won on lottery  , so I little suspicion about that lottery..  Sad

There aren't any posts here about lottery wins because that is not what this thread is for. Do some searching and you will find that some lottery winners have posted elsewhere. If you have a little suspicion about the lottery then I have a far greater suspicion that you didn't read or understand the provably fair link on the lottery page.
5944  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitterx Or Bitfinex on: November 08, 2017, 10:23:27 AM
The only advantage I can find in Bittrex is a wider selection of altcoins, that's the only reason I have an account there. Bitfinex platform is far superior and there is no requirement to verify for most customers. For trading BTCUSD as I do mostly it also has the highest volume. Liquidity and costs are the two most important things for a trader to consider.
In the crypto world, you also have to consider how safe your funds are. There are plenty of accusations against all the exchanges but I feel reasonably comfortable with either of these.
5945  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: November 08, 2017, 09:49:28 AM
Ultimately, it all comes down to your risk tolerance, mine seems to be low while yours is certainly higher

To be fair for full disclosure I bought all my BTC from $20-$200 and have already cashed out a nice profit so it is easy for me to be relaxed. If the price goes to zero I will have only missed an opportunity to make more rather than having lost something I invested. I wish I could be this relaxed when I'm trading fiat markets, crypto does a weird thing to me where I'm able to disassociate it from money.
5946  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.0 is out ! on: November 08, 2017, 09:35:07 AM
@ TryNinja & PVminer, Thanks for your answers, I think I understand it much more clearly now.

The support for bech32 is indeed very weak but Bitcoin Core can also send to (and receive) this address if you compile from github source.  transactions can be spotted in the wild from time to time.

That's interesting, so there isn't really any reason for this not to get more widely adopted then.
5947  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: November 08, 2017, 09:21:00 AM
Your logic doesn't hold

It simply doesn't make sense to keep your money in your account without action, but you should know that as good as I do. If you expect the price to go down, you should short now instead of waiting or at least already have orders in place.

I don't expect the price to go down but I'll be ready to short it if it tells me it wants to go down. After watching the order flow just after 01:00 GMT today I'm now looking for a pullback to get long as I no longer hold out hope of getting any in the 6,000-6,500 range I was watching. You see it the other way and that's fine with me, I'm not here to persuade you to change your view, I'm just saying how I see it.
As for guessing what everyone else is doing, it's just that, guessing by what I see on the tape. That can change very quickly, people change their minds all the time.
5948  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.0 is out ! on: November 08, 2017, 08:43:40 AM
There are two segwit address types (with 2 subtypes each): native segwit format, draft BIP173-encoded starting with bc1, and one embedded in the P2SH address (starting with 3).
You can create both in Electrum but the P2SH-embedded require either specifying BIP39 seed (with BIP49  m/49'/0'/0' path) or a hardware wallet. You cannot create such a wallet with the native Electrum seed only classic or pure segwit.

See, also my description of all nuances here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2353665.msg24018980#msg24018980

Native segwit addresses are probably not a good idea for a general user yet (but maybe excellent for, e.g. exchange hot wallet) but P2SH embedded are fine as long as you can generate them.

Thank you very much for the information, you saved me a lot of time searching for this stuff. I have read through some of the other thread you linked to as well but I just want to make sure I have understood correctly.

I've created a new Segwit wallet which has the addresses starting bc1. Am I correct in thinking that any Electrum wallet that is version 3 can send a transaction to these addresses but no other wallet can?
Secondly, (this is the bit I'm more unsure about) I can send from that wallet to all other addresses as the transaction is processed on the blockchain not by the receiving wallet?
5949  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: November 08, 2017, 06:41:25 AM
In case of a leisurely bitfinex support:

1) Who remember at what moment bitfinex has sent Bitcoin Cash tokens to user accounts at August 1st?
What will happen if I close BTCUSD long on Bitfinex right after finding the forkblock number 494784 but early then Bitfinex add B2X tokens?
(looks like rhetorical question. Indeed I sent this question to support 3 weeks ago)

I mean how fast Bitfinex makes snapshot of blockchain after the fork? Can I close BTCUSD long at the next moment after forkblock? Any ideas?

I can't be exact as I wasn't watching at the precise time of the fork but as nobody else has answered you I'll try and help. I logged in a couple of hours after the fork and the new coin was already available. My understanding is that a snapshot of all balances is done at the exact time the fork block is mined and then it just takes a little while for the database to be updated with each new balance, so yes as I understand it you can close out any position immediately after block 494,784 is confirmed.

As I told someone else on the last page:

Bitfinex abandoned this forum and thread a long time ago. If you need confirmation that what I told you is correct I think you'll have more chance of getting a response on  /r/bitcoin or /r/bitcoinmarkets.

Several people have told me that the best way to get a response from Bitfinex is to hassle them on Reddit.

2) Second case: Why are such low rates on USD lending? Approximately 1% of the costs can be obtained 20% (the cost of B2X token relative to BTC price) (very confusing moment)

This is related to the discussion I was having above with deisik about BTC lending rates going up. We have different views but I get the feeling that people are mostly going flat and waiting so they have funds ready to react if the fork does impact the price.
5950  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 06-Nov-2017] on: November 07, 2017, 04:35:01 PM
Are there other threads in which provide signature campaigns? As I see lots of other users that have different Signature not on this list.
Where could I find those? Thanks!

This thread only lists campaigns that pay their participants in Bitcoin. There are a lot of campaigns for ICOs that payout in the tokens they are trying to launch. Some of these only give out the tokens if they reach a certain goal of raising money in the ICO and even if they pay the tokens there is no guarantee that will worth anything. I think these campaign threads probably hide out somewhere over in the altcoin section of the forum rather than here in the Bitcoin section.
5951  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: November 07, 2017, 02:27:29 PM
Is this site legit? Like has anyone gotten a payout?

Freebitcoin is the most legit and longest running faucet.

I personally withdrew 0.001 BTC every one week. Their free payout is a little lazy, It got almost 4 hours to reach payout in my wallet..

You can trust this one..
Every week ? i'm sure you use multiply for reach this amount for a week. i think just leave from gamble here..
but it's up to you, every people have their luck.
Becareful

If you have a number of active referrals then 0.001BTC a week is easily achieved without ever risking anything on the multiply game. I would also like to add that I have made a withdrawal very recently with no issues and I have been with freebitco.in since it started and never had a problem withdrawing. So I would treat the claims above with a lot of scepticism.
5952  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: November 07, 2017, 11:45:48 AM
Today's rates are different that yesterday's

If you follow them, you could notice that they increased for over 3 times during the last 24 hours if we talk about short term rates. Yesterday rates for 2-day loans were around 0.02% daily (I managed to borrow at lower than 0.018%), while today they have already surged to over 0.07% and above, and the offers are quickly filled. As to me, that pretty much means exactly what I say, namely, that people are expecting Bitcoin to tank massively. Indeed, it doesn't mean that it will, but personally, I interpret such change in this way

That is what makes a market, two traders looking at the same thing and interpreting it the to mean the opposite. As I said earlier the BTC I have lent out is coin I intend to keep come what may, so if it turns out I'm wrong it doesn't really change the outcome here. I have separate funds that I trade with but I'm just not feeling anything that makes me want to take a short right now. We'll see how it develops over the next 9 or 10 days.
5953  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: November 07, 2017, 10:54:33 AM
But this is what I'm saying

Well, at least, in respect of the effect on interest rates. In general, the rates are rising in two cases. The first case when there is no supply (let's assume the demand side doesn't change) and this is what you seem to mean, and the second one is when there is demand rising (i.e. when people are looking a shorting opportunity). But in either of these two cases people are expecting the Bitcoin price to tank, right? Since otherwise the supply wouldn't diminish, while the demand wouldn't increase

Yes, we're pretty much on the same page. I'm just not seeing much shorting going on so I think it's mainly lack of supply rather than demand. So rather than thinking that they expect the price to tank, I think they just don't want to be lent out as a precaution on the slight chance that it does, it could take 2 days to get your coins back to be able to react. It's a subtle difference I know but it makes me feel more bullish at the moment.

You could also contact your local police but the chances of them even understanding your problem let alone being able to help are again very small.

In the end we are all responsible for taking care of the security of our own Bitcoins.

I don't think if that will work, the bitcoin is not regulated and it can't be considered as the criminal for the official institution due to the most of country just try to argue about the bitcoin as another illegal coin or investment.
I doubt if the police will take care about that, You just waste your time in there if you want to do that. And about the amount already sent to the exchange site. which the hacker already did money laundry to the OP's amount.

I already said that it most likely will not work. Of course it can be considered as criminal, bitcoin has value and is, therefore, an asset irrespective of any "official institution" definition. Theft of an asset is a crime in any country. The problem is only that the police will lack any means to investigate and the perpetrator will be almost impossible to track down and probably out of jurisdiction. The OP did not say where they are but if it is the US then as Polinex is registered there the chances of getting Polinex to do something are slightly improved if the police could be persuaded to approach them.
5955  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: November 07, 2017, 10:24:07 AM
What do you mean by "scalplicious"?

Maybe, you wanted to say spectacular? That I certainly agree with.

It's a portmanteau of scalping and delicious. Markets that move like BTCUSD are a paradise for scalpers but that's tough to do on the exchanges we have. I'm going to be a very happy trader if/when I can trade BTC futures on huge leverage and low fees using TT.

Regarding Bitcoin funding interest rates having started to rise, I think this has more to do with the expectations of Bitcoin price going down (which is opposite to what you might think). People borrow more when they want to short, that basically means they expect Bitcoin prices to go down, and not rise in the nearest future. For example, USD rates are up when Bitcoin goes up since it makes perfect sense to borrow dollars and buy bitcoins with them. It works in reverse as well

I know what you mean, that's exactly what I was thinking going into the last forks, but the more I think about it I'm sure a lot of traders are just moving their funds into their trading accounts ready to sell if the price goes down. The actual fall from the highs is very small right now so I don't think there is much shorting going on. It's just a theory I'm having at the moment.
5956  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I have been stolen 10 btc by fake scam electrum website on: November 07, 2017, 10:11:17 AM
If you use blocktrail.com rather than blockchain.info they have a mentions tab for each address where it shows you if the address shows up in an internet search.

Of the 3 addresses you listed, the first was mentioned in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878727.msg21694998#msg21694998 in another scam. The other two seem to be linked to Polinex.

You could try and contact Polinex support but I wouldn't hold out much hope of a response. You could also contact your local police but the chances of them even understanding your problem let alone being able to help are again very small.

In the end we are all responsible for taking care of the security of our own Bitcoins.
5957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction stuck...what do I do? on: November 07, 2017, 09:46:38 AM
Can you post the transaction id so we can find it on the blockchain?

Unless the fee is really low it should confirm soon as the mempool is clearing out now. If not you can also try these free accelerators if the transaction is less than 500 bytes.

https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
http://confirmtx.com/

In future always check the mempool using https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ before you send and if possible use a replacement fee opt-in if you can.

 $939 and 0.0129BTC.

You mean 0.129BTC, right ?

Oops yes a typo. I have gone back and corrected it. Thanks.
5959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Surviving segwit2x hardfork on: November 07, 2017, 08:55:10 AM
Can i just confirm with someone... if i hold my btc on the core fullnode wallet 0.15 this means at the time of the 2x fork i get 1 x segwit original coins and 1 x segwit 2x coins?   My coins right now are held in an address that starts with 1, does that make it a non segwit address etc? does that still make me get both coins at time of fork?

Yes, your existing coins will exist on both chains after the fork so you will have equal amounts of Bitcoin and the new Segwit2x coin. Having a segwit address starting with 3 is irrelevant to the fork, the whole blockchain will be duplicated. Having a segwit address would just allow you to send a segwit transaction from that address.
The only thing you need to concern yourself with is the actual process of splitting off the coins after the fork as the lack of replay protection complicates this a bit. Do a bit of research into this before attempting to do it.
5960  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: November 07, 2017, 08:17:37 AM
One such use case I just mentioned, i.e. receiving B2X tokens in a safe way

I might be proved completely wrong but I'm personally not concerned about the fork having an adverse effect on BTC price. I understand there are risks but my assessment is that it one that I'm willing to take so I'm just leaving my BTC lent out. The BTC I have lent out is for the hodl, I'm not selling anytime soon. The interest rates are already starting to increase as I think many are taking them out of lending so I'm just benefiting from that.

There might be a dramatic squeeze when Bitcoin futures are allowed since it doesn't take a lot to bring Bitcoin down Soros style (even if temporarily)

The CME announcement last week could have a huge impact, in fact, I'm convinced it has far more to do with breaking $7k than the fork does. I'm hoping they get the necessary regulatory approval because I'm itching to day trade BTC futures on a real trading platform. It will be scalplicious.
