None of this is nearly the same as collecting funds to be deposited into what apparently everybody knew was a Ponzi scheme, Og included.
...

I took the liberty of putting the perfect hindsight and speculation in underline and bold.

This statement doesn't reflect hindsight, it reflects having a feeling about something as it was happening speculation about feelings people may or may not have had in hindsight about something that was happening.

I fixed that for you.

Anybody who can understand English knows what he meant. Let's look at it again:

Is there anyone who thought Patrick Harnett & Pirate were doing honest dealings?  I certainly hope not.

He uses the word "thought", as in "thought at the time." Don't know how you could possibly confuse this, but I'm sure you'll find a way.

to die on this hill

The polls were in the margin of error

I'm not about to go look up the "margin of error" to see exactly how much wrong each poll was against what they claim is close enough in horseshoes and hand grenades..

I'm not going to look it up either, but the point remains, the polls were actually correct as they were measuring the popular vote and not the electoral vote. Hillary won by 2.87 million votes, or roughly 2.2% of the total vote, which is likely within the margin of error of the polls. Its arguable that the polls didn't include enough voters from states won by Trump, except for the one pollster I mentioned earlier.

You forgot one minor detail...

Oh right, dem deep state voter conspiracy, totally forgot about that one.  Roll Eyes Too bad they didn't have enough foresight to affect the states where the vote actually mattered and instead plowed extra votes into states that Hillary was already going to win.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Sooner or later you will all be just like OGNasty and each have your turn at the unaccountable mob picking through every intimate detail of your life looking for things to report to the government simply because they can and it makes them feel less like the weak little men they are because they wield power over another.

Seeing as how most of us never promoted a Ponzi scheme on the forum, I highly doubt it.

You are involved in the ponzi scheme by way of investigating it. I was involved by coincidentally helping to expose its collapse. Theymos was involved by way of hosting the forum. Hundreds of users were involved tangentially. This is not tantamount to wrongdoing no matter how much you struggle to manufacture that appearance.

None of this is nearly the same as collecting funds to be deposited into what apparently everybody knew was a Ponzi scheme, Og included.

Could it be that nobody complained afterward because everybody knew what they were getting themselves into at the beginning?

We really don't know the specifics because we don't know what was contained in Exhibit 3, other than the name "OgNasty" next to an amount of BTC on a spreadsheet. The number may have been 1,000, it may have been 2,600+ -- we don't know for sure. We also don't know if it reflected Og's personal investment or all the BTC collected from investors, or both.

Its true that all this is well in the past and doesn't really matter anymore from a legal standpoint, but it still demonstrates behavior that is pretty far from trustworthy. The fact that Og won't comment on what Shavers was talking about in his testimony only makes things worse.
5946  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [BET] Trump or not Trump 2020, eddie13 vs suchmoon on: December 11, 2019, 04:11:36 AM
Most of the polls conducted for the 2016 election were within the statistical margin of error, so it's not like the polls were necessarily wrong.
...

...

These polling companies conduct thousands of polls a year.  You can look up their records, if they have consistent outliers they lose funding.

In terms of the popular vote, the polls were mostly correct.

The only poll that consistently put Trump ahead of Clinton was run by the LA Times / USC -- I will be paying particularly close attention to their results this time around.

It is perfectly! I always use the "MARKET ORDERS" trade when I urgently need to sell coins.

No you don't. You've never used this exchange before in your life. You've just been hired to spam this thread, which leads me to believe Coinsbit is probably a scam exchange. If it wasn't they wouldn't need to hire frauds like you to spam on their behalf.

When are you going to tell them you are no longer actually bumping their thread as advertised?
5948  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [BET] Trump or not Trump 2020, eddie13 vs suchmoon on: December 10, 2019, 10:11:01 AM
If Trump to win at +125 is accurate it means Suchmoon will win the bet 55.6 % of the time and the BTC0.1 is now worth BTC0.125

I've seen it bouncing around from +110 - +130 on a few other offshore books.

Congrats Suchmoon!

I dunno, anything could happen. I remember in 2016 I thought the 1.4x payout on Hillary Clinton was easy money all day long (this was on DirectBet, so maybe it was a slightly higher payout on other sites). Pretty happy I never actually put a bet in on that one.

I remember their 2 selections were Hillary Clinton and "Republican Candidate." They never bothered putting in "Donald Trump," because I guess he was too much of a wildcard.

In any case, the moral of the story is, anything can (and does) happen!
5949  Economy / Reputation / Re: mosprognoz - Needs To Learn on: December 10, 2019, 03:45:46 AM
The first time I heard of mosprognoz was because of this thread, which I thought was very well done:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5107674

It appears he likes to take the initiative as far as doing "undercover" investigatory work is concerned, so unless if he's done something that's actually scammy, I'm not going to remove him from my trust list.

He gets a bit carried away sometimes and hopefully he'll be a bit more careful before leaving trust ratings going into the future.

I tend to look at net totals when considering including/excluding people from my trust list: are they doing more good than harm? If so, I would say they are a net positive for the forum, and worthy of inclusion. That's how I feel about him at the moment.

Nobody's perfect. Everybody makes mistakes.

When Bitcoin Savings & Loan disappeared, I lost my funds along with everyone else.

It would appear that pirateat40 was mistaken in his testimony to the SEC then?

He submitted your name on a spreadsheet as evidence with a reimbursed amount and claimed it was the entire principle. Perhaps it was just your personal investment and not those participating in the "passthrough" -- either way, sounds like you didn't lose your funds. Unless he entered mistaken evidence. Did he?

The real problem is there's just no substantial point behind tokenizing things.

I want to buy $1,000 XCP @ dex price no matter..
Right meow..

I think I have about 0.4  Cheesy

I created about 40 different assets, maybe more! Went through quite a few of them that way.
5952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: December 09, 2019, 08:23:54 AM
Core devs killed all competition to their lightning network, that killed Counterparty and Omni for now, it was deliberate.

If the LN doesn't work what will Core & Blockstream do then, is it likely they would add capacity with bigger blocks?

Maybe they would revive Counterparty themselves ...

Nah, you can't blame Core. LN and Counterparty achieve different things. They have different goals and were never in competition with each other.

Counterparty has been on a continual decline since it started. Its a great idea and, besides Omni, the first of its kind. Its just cheaper and faster to create and move tokens on Ethereum. If anything I think Counterparty could have used some marketing help back in its heyday. Tokenization just never really caught on, despite all the hype. Look at most ETH tokens: dead, or dying. The real problem is there's just no substantial point behind tokenizing things.
5953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: December 09, 2019, 03:49:55 AM
There was a huge bet made on the chiefs game tonight with the over on points. It is not bradys night so this is not looking like it will be going through. Undecided

I think they had a poll on who was going to win and think he was going to put all those coins on the patriots. Good thing because they are trailing the entire game and only 6 minutes left. Embarrassed

Holy shit, 12 BTC down the drain! It didn't even come close.

Looks like the Rams are going to win this one, 28-9 with 11 mins to go in the 4th.  Cool

My calls get a lot better toward the end of the season. Last year I called all 7 of the post season games, including the Super Bowl. Will probably plunk some BTC down on a game next week.

My fantasy team crushed it this week and my QB still has yet to play.
5954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: December 08, 2019, 04:57:06 AM
NOW for some fun, I have a playoff spot locked up so this week isn't a make or break on one of my teams so I will play a consensus lineup from you guys.

1/2 PPR 1QB 2WR 2RB 1Flex

Drew Brees NO - QB
Sun 1:00 pm vs SF

Ryan Fitzpatrick Mia - QB
Sun 1:00 pm @ NYJ

Tom Brady NE - QB
Sun 4:25 pm vs KC

Michael Thomas NO - WR
Sun 1:00 pm vs SF

Julian Edelman NE - WR
Questionable
Sun 4:25 pm vs KC

DeVante Parker Mia - WR
Sun 1:00 pm @ NYJ

Austin Ekeler LAC - RB
Sun 4:05 pm @ Jax

Phillip Lindsay Den - RB
Sun 1:00 pm @ Hou

Mark Ingram II Bal - RB
Sun 1:00 pm @ Buf

Chris Carson Sea - RB
Sun 8:20 pm @ LAR

Travis Kelce KC - TE
Sun 4:25 pm @ NE

Hunter Henry LAC - TE
Sun 4:05 pm @ Jax

Austin Hooper Atl - TE
Sun 1:00 pm vs Car

I've highlighted my picks and as you can see I'm gambling on those as I'm shooting for the highest ceiling. My opponent is in second place and I have 4th locked up so I just would like to throw as many points as possible up.

Wow, pretty good that you have both Brees and Brady. Was it like that all season for you? The only change I would make is switching Kelce for Henry. NE defense could potentially stop some yards for you there. I've had Henry as my starting TE for most of the season and he's paid off more often than not.

I'll close the poll early, we're up to a record 10 votes. Sticking with my guns and the Rams for this one.

I should really try to find a place to watch the game tomorrow morning but I'm pretty far removed from anything American-like at the moment. Things I miss the most about home:

- good cheese and fresh milk
- Taco Bell
- my Xbox
- watching NFL games whenever I damn well choose

You'd ask: can't you just livestream games and/or buy the NFL premium digital package (or whatever)?

A: NO! Every bit of internet data is metered here and I pay about $1 a GB. When I do have a data signal, which is about 50% of the time, its seldom strong enough to livestream something. YouTube videos can be a pain to load, and Netflix is out of the question. I had a NFL radio app on my phone so I could listen to games that way, but its just not really the same as watching them... Its like 40% of the experience.

You might not know anyone recognised it until the four armed thugs bundle you in to their panel van.
Cheerful thought. I don't wish it on you; of course the reverse.

You wish he bundles four armed thugs into a panel van?

Then what? Road trip?

Now then - just to let you know, you are off topic.

You're wrong about that. Its not off-topic to discuss how this thread is a bunch of unfounded nonsense, as is your premonition. You've accused a bunch of members of doing things they've never done, and I'm taking a stand against it, pointing out how you've been make consistently false claims for years. Not one flag of yours listed here was supported by a single other individual on this forum, and I'm suggesting that you perform a bit of introspection as to why that might be the case.

If you don't like criticism then open a self-modded thread next time.

OK fine, keep refusing to learn a single thing. Obviously you're not interested in solving the root of your problems. BTW congrats on making it to DT1.

You've truly achieved what you deserve.
5960  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Flag] DT ring creation discussion / merit abuse / collusion to harm BCT on: December 07, 2019, 03:26:52 AM
No one is infallible...

Anyone who says they are infallible (especially in this forum) is deluding themselves while anyone who ridicules others for making a mistake isn't fit to guide others.

Its not that you simply made a mistake. You've made dozens, if not hundreds, of mistakes in your career as a forum... whatever... and you seemingly give zero fucks each time. Your refusal to learn from your past mistakes is what really separates you from most normal people and its also why nobody has any sympathy or respect for you.

If you perhaps showed the slightest bit of interest in being less reckless in your ratings going into the future, perhaps things would change, but you've got a lot of undoing ahead of you.
