5941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get Ready! Bitcoin is about to get Millions of buyers coming in . . . on: April 22, 2016, 07:55:30 AM
Who is going to use it to buy games ? I mean G2A accept Bitcoin as far as I know and they sell games cheaper . Still , It can be useful for buying skins from CS:GO & Dota I suppose ..

it is always better to use them directly rather than going through a third party website. also you should remember that all those 3rd party websites are buying these games cheap from other users or from promotions like summer sale. something that we can do on our own.
also having money in your steam wallet never hurts because you might find good prices on the marketplace to buy stuff.
5942  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner starting trading on: April 22, 2016, 07:52:01 AM
Cosidering how risky it is to trade with altcoins, trading with some satoshis on btc-e is a step in the right direction.

in my opinion for a newbie and for trading altcoins btc-e is not a suitable place because there are only a couple of coins listed there. and their exchanger is better for trading bitcoin-fiat and only the famous altcoins.
but for the rest i would suggest bittrex that has all the altcoins that has enough trade volume.
5943  Economy / Economics / Re: Minimum limit for buying BTC on: April 22, 2016, 07:47:41 AM
Anything above the transaction fee can be counted as the minimum but personally i haven't set a minimum, as much as i can afford that's all.
Oh, nice suggestion, but no one has tried that amount to buy or sell for themselves as, it require some time, maybe one second or half of it, but require time, and the amount you are suggesting is useless, so not recommending wasting that time.

the minimum amount is not up to us, if you want to trade then it would be up to your exchanger that you are using and it is usually 0.0001BTC as the smallest amount of trade volume
but if you want to send that amount in a transaction then it would be up to the dust rules (it has changed a couple of times so far) but last time i checked it was around ~5600 satoshi (may have changed) and anything lower than that is dust and will go to miners as fee.
5944  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: April 22, 2016, 07:43:42 AM
It is smart that you are not going to sell any coin now because we all know that the halving will come and that can be nice for the people who already have some Bitcoins.
The only bad thing that will happen that you can wait a long time until the value will be higher so you need also a lot of patience for it.
Yes, waiting for the halving require patience but there is another solution, if he also starts trade with his bitcoins and also wait for the halving, it will benefit him double. He can also earn with trading along with a wait for the halving.

i agree, it is always the best option to invest bitcoin (not only bitcoin but also money) you should never just leave money in your bank account or bitcoin in your wallet, you should start some work with it. that way you can both learn something new and earn more with your investment.
5945  Economy / Speculation / Re: 440$ reached on: April 22, 2016, 07:38:40 AM
Mmmm or it can be just another minipump to around 450 to go down again like it has happened 2-3 times before recently. I will hold some, but will sell some too just in case it goes lower again.
Exactly ! I also had stocked some 1 BTC for a price increase, I am selling 0.5 of it now and will keep the 0.5 remaining for selling it at a much much higher rate. I already regretted a lot when I last time sold for cheap.

to me it doesn't look like a mini pump or a temporary thing , i feel like we will never see prices lower than $430 ever again so the new stable range i would expect to be between $440-$450 for the time being.
5946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent Price Bump on: April 22, 2016, 07:29:12 AM
Such a pleasant place to post
Being nice is not necessary.
As for segwit, I'm still not sure if I want to agree or disagree with it. But that shouldn't be in this section, as this is speculation.
There's nothing really to disagree with it. All (or the majority) of the developers are 'fond' of Segwit. Regardless of whether you agree, or disagree with it, it will be merged.

EDIT: they still don't accept bitcoin but apparently they are officially doing the groundwork. ref: https://redd.it/4fuk6c
There is no official announcement from Valve, so do not use the word 'official'.

Valve has started it nonetheless, they have been sending Emails to developers and publishers telling them about this the Email contents are in that reddit post and Valve has already confirmed they have sent such emails to news sites. http://coinjournal.net/bitcoin-coming-steam/

but it is not yet posted on something like steamcommunity.com
5947  Economy / Speculation / Re: CHOO CHOO! "Bitcoin payments are coming soon to Steam" on: April 22, 2016, 07:19:42 AM
this is such a big news, i have been waiting for this to happen for a very long time. i have even submitted this request for adding bitcoin to their system with their support staff last year.
i am glad that they finally accepted this request.
5948  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Receiving Bitcoin Confirmation From Other Users For Trading on: April 22, 2016, 07:10:40 AM
if everything is normal with blockchain (i don't want to go into details but there was a problem a while back with SPV mining which is solved now) you don't generally need to worry about anything.
so you only have to wait for 1 confirmation and you can be 100% sure that you have received the bitcoin.

also with 0 confirmation you can decide if it will be confirmed or not by looking at the priority of the transaction if it is high priority with normal fees and there is no spam attack on the network (10K-20K unconfirmed tx) then you can also be 95% sure that you will receive the coins.
5949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS STILL FAMOUS on: April 22, 2016, 07:01:46 AM
During from past two years when bitcoin stepped in,Every body takes it lightly but i personally dont know that how it get so high on USD then how it conquered the transactions of banking,
there was also a time when 1 BTC was = to 1100$ which also led myself toward this entity crazily,Bitcoin was like catastrophe in transaction sector or what can i say it a 'Currency sector' then we see also a big drop in the price of Bitcoin from 1100$ to 300$ .
It boomed suddenly ,Every body head was down thinking that they had lost something because some peoples had transferred there currency in bitcoins because of Current Good situation also and of the value of the 1100.
Still today those people aren't in a big loss because bitcoin is much more valuable still today ,i know it is not much then before it was used to,but i have to admit it that with that big fall ,
btc is still famous
BTC

there are a couple of things that are worth mentioning here:
bitcoin became popular and grew in price because it was and it still is useful, and much better than using fiat and all those payment processors for fiat.
there is something in all these commodity markets called a bubble, everybody knows that and even if then don't they will hear it at some point. the $1100 was a bubble which had to burst.
the fall to $300 didn't happen overnight so i don't see what OP's point is by saying drop from 1100 to 300
as  i said it was a bubble and anybody with the small experience would have noticed it and got out and back in again when things were settled.
like what is happening now, things has settled a long time ago and you should have bought at $200 and be happy about it.
5950  Other / Off-topic / Re: Earning a living with bitcoin? on: April 22, 2016, 06:54:32 AM

Earning a living with bitcoin seems like it would be kinda hard. Unless you have a ton of bitcoin with a secure way to make bitcoin. Also you'll always have to worry about volatility of the price. And spending bitcoin to buy food and stuff doesn't seem to easy as well.

Honestly it's not hard, you can begin with faucent and than cloud mining and every month your progress will make more money for you. But you will waste a lot of time to make good profit.
Running faucets is a waste though, the most I've ever made with faucets is $0.03 over the course of a month, running 6 faucets at a time.

You can easily make more money with a part-time job or any other form of work compared to faucets.

And getting mining contracts through faucet money is a lofty goal, you hashing power would be the equivalent of one other faucet running most of the time.

by running faucets, do you mean owning them and being the faucet provider or just visiting and claiming?

if it is the first can you share with us what advertising networks were you using for advertising banners on your faucet site?
5951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ever missed the chance of getting bitcoin at cheaper price? on: April 22, 2016, 06:21:01 AM
when i heard about bitcoin the first time, the price was so high, i don't remember the exact price but it was around 900-1000 USD back then so i didn't miss anything by not buying.
but so far from that time i had the chance to buy at the stable $220 price so i guess i will never miss out on anything else.
5952  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Price Starting to Go Up.... on: April 22, 2016, 06:16:39 AM
I think the increase of price of bitcoin today is the promising start of the effect of the incoming Bitcoin Halving Event.. I heard that there's already some sites that is starting a countdown...
I think it's the time for traders to make money faster than before.

there are a lot of different things at work here that are causing bitcoin price to rise , the block halving is one of them which also has the biggest effect.
the recent rise IMO was mostly because of the ETH dump, and all those investors who got out of bitcoin to buy ETH are now comming back.
5953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get Ready! Bitcoin is about to get Millions of buyers coming in . . . on: April 22, 2016, 06:09:32 AM
We welcome the initiative to accept Bitcoin, but which third party payment processor will be used? If this company have expensive fees, we will see very little incentive for people to move from their current payment option to Bitcoin. The Steam community is huge and this is good news for us, but I sincerely hope that they going to chose a good payment processor. ^hmmmm^

this is great news nonetheless, especially for all the bitcoin users. also it shows that there was a lot of requests that made steam use bitcoin by adding it to payment methods.

also i doubt if the payment processors for bitcoin have higher fees than PayPal or other payment processors for fiat.
5954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption and it's future. on: April 22, 2016, 05:57:39 AM
in my country there is no significant adoption yet, people mostly don't know about bitcoin and those who know what bitcoin is are only using faucets to earn peanuts and sell them for fiat.

but i hope this changes in the future, and i think if it becomes globally accepted then government will definitely regulate bitcoin because they will have no other choice.
5955  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Shapeshift coming back on: April 22, 2016, 05:55:05 AM
After a month of battling several attacks on Shapeshift’s trading platform, the company announced a full shutdown of their website to be reconstructed with improved security due to missing funds which tallied up to $230,000. The platform should be back on April 20.

See here more info : http://cointelegraph.com/news/shapeshift-rebuilds-after-losing-230000-promised-to-be-back-wednesday

wow that is a big amount lost.
i checked their new service today and it looks like they are up and running, and although there is only one exchange (btc <-> ETH) it looks like they have already made a lot of transaction (166BTC as of now).

good to see them come back.
5956  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I'm looking to make a competition for the design of my steam avatar. on: April 22, 2016, 05:51:15 AM
i think 0.05BTC is a good prize for an avatar it is nearly $22 at the current rate.
and also for your contest you should specify what kind of avatar you want, it can be a drawn picture, or sometimes a simple picture of a character can become an awesome avatar with some small photoshop work

• Any member above Jr Member rank can participate (losers make multiple entries with newbie accounts, maybe you can only allow Member+)
•Allow only 2-3 maximum entries by each member so they can bring the best out in less time.

why does these two matter?
i think it is not important at all who enters or how many times they enter, it is not a giveaway or lottery game. if the design is good they can submit 1000 avatars as long as OP is not picking by chance but picking by quality.
5957  Economy / Services / Re: Renting accounts????? on: April 22, 2016, 05:44:42 AM
about a year ago i have seen one person do this, he used to rent his account for others to post on signature campaigns and he gave them a percent.

but there are a lot of problems with this, you have to give them your account which they may not give it back or even they might spam and get your account banned.
5958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has died 100 times on: April 18, 2016, 01:56:49 PM
I read from another post that bitcoin died 88 times. What is up with bitcoin dying so much. What does bitcoin dying mean, It all seems a little to dramatic after all.

Many people have told everyone in the bitcoin world that it is dying when they see a price dip... Some of it are dramatically being escalate so it could create a panic in those who hold their coins and sell it and that would make the price drop lower than it was..But that's not effective for all..
Mainly altcoin users and those who want to see bitcoiners dumping their cins spread FUD and people believe them many a times when the price keeps dropping. Just few months back when the price dropped to $220, people claimed it will drop to $100 and people were seen dumping/selling their coins. That has a bad effect on the currency.
Yeah, the rumors are created by those people who support some other crypto currency and they want if the bitcoin users lost believe on bitcoin, then they will join their currency. While it is impossible as bitcoin is the real and No.1 crypto currency.

this trick is really getting old. those idiots should really think of some new FUD to spread instead of this see through plot.
besides nobody is listening to these things nowadays. and i think the amount of spam about these lies have been reduced lately especially because of the stable price.
5959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which country does NOT use Bitcoin? on: April 18, 2016, 01:42:17 PM
i think every single country has some people that have heard about bitcoin and are using it, and there is not really anything anybody can do about that either.
but there is a big difference between people using bitcoin and bitcoin being actually used in the country like having a local exchanger or having local businesses accept bitcoin and more importantly have laws about bitcoin by government.
5960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 0.3 btc in a week on: April 18, 2016, 01:34:01 PM
in my exprienced, i ever earned 0.3 bitcoin a day by join with a platform here, so far this is the fastest way for me to earn bitcoin, contribute in new altcoin project is good tho, or maybe buy cheap altcoin and waiting untill the price up, but you must be carefull there so many shity or scam altcoin out there, anyways i've invensted my bitcoin on lisk let see what will happen

Can i know if what platform earned you 0.3 bitcoin a day?
People are finding it hard to earn 0.3 in a month and you earned that in one day, that is great.
Maybe some lucky people earn that much with gambling in no time, or some skilled traders may do that in a day, but without trading or gambling that seems to be very hard.
It's mainly gambling that can earn 0.3 BTC or even more and many here who are high earners invest in gambling websites. Even trading cannot earn such a high amount unless the user is trading over 2-3 BTC daily which is tough. I don't think there is any other way as signature campaigns and even lending cannot earn so much.

while gambling you are always taking a huge risk of losing all you have earned so far but when you are trading there is never a chance of losing all you put in because even if the price goes down you will only lose a percentage of your investment and it can be small if you are quick but if you lose a bet you lose all of it.
