5941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dont be dumb gamblers on: May 10, 2019, 06:56:58 AM
My friend recently get scammed by a gambling site which he found by continuously browsing. On internet. Sorry but even he cant remember the name so i cant tell you but here's what you wouldnt do. He said he was searching about how cryptocurrency gambling work. He is much aware about bitcoin but not about using it for gambling. He find some "yellow botton" he said which offers gambling for newbies and the rest is history. Goodbye $200 . yes thats kinda bit small but should you wait that it happened to you with a bigger amount? Here's what you would do.
1. Dont click and browse non recognized site to avoid phishing.
2.. Always ask first the people on this forum whether the site is legit or not.
3. Dont put too much money on that site so if ever its really a scam, the amount it can get is minimal.
4. If it looks really legit, try some few games with few bets at first.

Being cautious costs less than not being aware at all. Dont let our greediness and dumbness takes over our financial life. Be safe people.

How can your friend not remember the sites name?, he can always check it by going in the history tab of his device and find the sites name. Why have you have skipped the information about how did he loose those $200, did he loose it on a bet or he won and the site refused to pay him?. I feel you should invite your friend to the forum, so he can pick a reputable casino for himself which won’t scam him.
5942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2018-2019 on: May 10, 2019, 04:07:54 AM
Chelsea vs Eintracht - what a great game whit penalty shootout! So, we will have English final both in Champions and Europa league.
Chelsea vs Arsenal. Legend of Chelsea Petr Cech against his fomer team in last his game in glorious career. I would like to see him lifting this trophy - it's a best way to say goodbye.

The penalty shoot out between Chelsea and Eintracht was the perfect way to end the match, both teams gave it all they had on the pitch but in the end Chelsea prevailed. While in the other match Arsenal dominated the proceedings, and won the match easily. I’ll agree Petr Cech could not have wished for a better farewell, and I hope your words come true and he gets to lift the trophy.
5943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's your favorite to win this year's Champions League ? on: May 09, 2019, 06:10:46 PM
These were the votes during the semis :

Time to vote for the Final now, between the two English teams, Liverpool and Tottenham.

Liverpool is going to win the match and they’ll win by scoring many goals, as a Manchester United fan that’s the last thing I wished to see. I know I’m being critical of Tottenham but when I compare both team squads, Liverpool has a far superior squad. Also it’s worth mentioning that Tottenham have reached the finals without buying a single player this season, for that Mauricio Pochettino deserves all the credit.
5944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion [Odds updated!] on: May 09, 2019, 02:01:11 PM
@Cloudbet. Will Game of Thrones return?

@bbc.reporter - I'm just trying to find out, not sure if the lines have come down as a result of the leaks or if it's just temporary. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

If you are looking for leaks/spoilers for Episode 5 and 6 the best place is probably /r/freefolk on reddit, they have a lot of confirmed sources on there.

I've already read them so i'm trying to hold off on commenting here too much in case I give anything away, but there's always a chance the leaks have come from the alternate endings that they claim to have filmed for each character.

Got to say, I'm not hugely impressed with the last couple of episodes. Good entertainment value and some fan service, but the lack of common sense from some characters who have previously been built up as intelligent is a bit frustrating and breaks the 4th wall at times.

Ronnie @ Cloudbet

It’ll be interesting to see if sportsbooks reintroduce betting for Game of Thrones, at this stage I feel they’ll not be bringing it back as the leaks are already out. @Ronnie there’s way too many spoilers there, and I feel we’ll should avoid it otherwise it’ll ruin the show for us. Are you referring to Tyrion if yes have you considered the possibility of him being in love with Daenarys, which I feel is the case hence he’s unable to see her faults.
5945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Now FREE to JOIN] IPL 2019 Prediction Pool and discussion on: May 09, 2019, 11:56:10 AM
I honestly am rooting for DC for their first ever IPL win, but their batting collapses are their biggest weak point. If they get rid of that, they will most probably lift the cup this season.

If DC fails, I am expecting MI to lift the cup unless CSK players show drastic improvement.

CSK will not win their match against Delhi Capitals as their players are experiencing a downfall in their form. If you see their opener Shane Watson he’s been struggling with the bat for quiet a while now, their middle order is heavily reliant on Ms Dhoni who alone cannot help them win. While on the other hand Delhi Capital players are in top form, hence only a miracle can save CSK from defeat but I doubt that’ll happen.

Another amazing semi final we witnessed today. This time Ajax got disappointment from Spurs on the very last minute. The brazilian Scored a hat-trick and change the result of the tie.Young Ajax team played really well in the UCL of this season, they already have beaten RMA and Juventus. We should appreciate their hard work.

So now, Liverpool vs Spurs, who will be the champions of UCL?
I'll pick Liverpool.

It was one of the best semi finals I have seen in recent years, both the teams gave it all they had to secure their victory. However in the end Tottenham got lucky by scoring that goal in injury time, otherwise I feel Ajax could have won the game. Ajax may have lost the game last night, but I’m sure they won everyone’s heart by their phenomenal journey in this year’s champion league.
5947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance hacked. How can this affect altcoin market? on: May 09, 2019, 03:58:37 AM

@ivan1975 there’s no effect on the alt coin market post the hack news as Binance user funds are already secured in SAFU, so all users shall recover their funds in coming days. The only downfall is that deposits and withdrawals have been suspended on binance, leaving users with no access to their funds. It’ll be interesting to see how Binance proceeds from here, and how it’ll try and win back it’s users trust.

5949  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-08] Binance Confirms 7000BTC ($40m) Security Breach on: May 08, 2019, 07:54:21 AM
The biggest and most trust worthy exchanges in the cryptospace should not be hacked. This will not give the users any confidence to trade or to deal more in the cryptospace.

Binance is collecting millions in fees. Can it be given an excuse to be this incompetent?

Changpeng Zhao, CEO of popular cryptocurrency exchange, Binance has confirmed that the platform witnessed a security breach for the first time with the hackers being able to withdraw 7000 BTC ($40 million) in one single transaction. The confirmation came after several leads within the crypto community rumored that such funds had left Binance’s hot wallets before the exchange announced a sudden “unscheduled server maintenance.”

As per the update released by the exchange, the incident took place on May 7, 2019, at 17:15:24 (UTC). The hackers employed a variety of techniques such as phishing, viruses and other attacks to obtain “a large number of user API keys, 2FA codes, and potentially other info,” Binance said.

Moving further, the exchange said the hackers were patient enough to “wait, and execute well-orchestrated actions through multiple seemingly independent accounts at the most opportune time,” thus allowing them to bypass existing security checks.

I feel sad for users who had kept their money on Binance, and possibly have lost their coins forever. In my opinion this is a lesson for all do not store your coins on an exchange, as they’re bound to be hacked sooner or later. It’s pertinent to note that Binance Ceo has confirmed they’re not proceeding with a Rollback to recover the hacked coins.

Posting some nice Doge win again from hidden  Wink

Those are some big numbers and it seems like another doge whale has decided to come and play at Bitdice, or could it be he’s the earlier whale we were discussing about?. I feel he’s very lucky as he gambled with huge amounts of doge, and won them all thanks for posting his winning amounts here.
5951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pakistan tour of England, 2019 (Cricket Series) on: May 07, 2019, 05:57:03 PM
Cricket is a very unknown game in my country. But I just love it as a spectator. Where can I watch this series online?

@Nadziratel you can watch the game live on Sky Sports you’ll have to sign up on their website, and purchase their subscription plans.

Both teams have a huge preparation for the tournament so I could say that it's an important series for these countries before the world cup start. Cricket has always been interesting and in this match, I could say that England has an edge if we'll base it on the history of their matches.

There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind about the preparation put in by both the teams, as this is the last tournament before the World Cup kicks off. I’ll agree with you that England players will have an advantage over Pakistan, as we all have seen England players often exploit their home conditions to their advantage.
5952  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always monitor your coins - Always be secured! on: May 07, 2019, 02:09:03 PM
Prior to participating in any field and industry, it is a priority that we should learn to be at risk. For an industry like crypto, security is the most important thing. Always monitor and protect your assets, don't lose money unjustly. Please save your ERC20 address and track it daily. That helps you control your assets safely.

I don’t believe one can secure his coins by simply monitoring them daily, in fact chances are you could loose them while monitoring it. I’m referring to Electrum desktop users who lost their coins, when they updated their wallet without going to the official site. What you could do is turn on 2fa, use a strong password and never transact on a public wifi as those are not secured, and most importantly never share your wallet details with others.
5953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Report: Google Search Volume and Tweets responsible for Bitcoin Price Surge on: May 07, 2019, 11:13:26 AM
Link: https://www.coinmarketfeed.com/bitcoin-news/report-google-search-volume-and-tweets-responsible-for-bitcoin-price-surge

In a recent research on Google trends and Twitter, it has been found out that the number of tweets and their corresponding sentiments can influence prices. The research ultimately reflects that Bitcoin price trends reflect crowd psychology.

Per the research, 21 million bots on Twitter, posted information about spam, advertisements, prices, etc. Moreover, the researchers have found out that Twitter sentiment is positive in nature even in the wake of falling prices.

However, despite their findings researchers have incorporated sentiment analysis using different techniques.

Researchers have used open source VADER (Valence Aware Dictionary and Sentiment Reasoner) for analyzing tweet data. Furthermore, tweet data dating back to 2014 using the site bitinfocharts.com. Google trends data (SVI) was also taken into account.

This report is not accurate as google searches, and tweets on twitter cannot influence bitcoin prices. If it were so simple by now whales would have brought million accounts, and each day they could have influenced bitcoin prices by tweeting positive or negative news. Google searches and twitter signals are important for a seo strategy, but there’s no correlation between bitcoins prices rising because of them.
5954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for scammers, yea right! on: May 07, 2019, 06:40:36 AM
We regularly read FUD articles in the popular media about Bitcoin being used in scams and that it is a perfect tool for scammers to hide their activities and the movie industry already labelled Bitcoin as the Internet of Money for the DarkNet.  Roll Eyes

I am currently watching a series called, "Undercover: Nailing the Fraudsters" and most of the scams featured there are done within a regulated environment. Boiler room scammers are not requesting payment in Crypto currencies to hide their activities, they get the victims to deposit money via their Bank accounts into their Bank accounts. <obviously created with fake ID documents>  Roll Eyes

In business, the term boiler room refers to an outbound call center selling questionable investments by telephone. It usually refers to a room where salesmen work using unfair, dishonest sales tactics, sometimes selling penny stocks, private placements or committing outright stock fraud. - Source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiler_room_(business)

So, next time when someone tells you that Crypto currencies are used for scams, please highlight the fact that most scams are still being done under the nose of the regulated financial industry.  Wink

Whenever I come across any article which says bitcoin is being used to scam people, I simply close it and ignore it as I know it’s not the truth. If you see the stats 99% of the scams happen involves fiat money, and most happen via the method you have mentioned above. I’m definitely going to watch that series, and will be using your last statement to make my case that bitcoin is not being used for scams.
5955  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 29 Billion Bets | 112+ BTC Jackpot! on: May 07, 2019, 03:52:11 AM
I can't believe it has been 6 years since primedice was first founded. This means I have been around bitcoin for longer than 6 years (not by a lot) because I vividly remember when primedice didn't even exist and then one day they started doing it. I remember the first version and how people abused the faucet by using bots (it was simpler times for the website too) and they simply refreshed page and all.

Now we are at year 6 and from 100-200 dollars of bitcoin to close to 6 thousand dollars and we even peaked at 20 thousand dollars in mean time as well. I have slowly started to move to stake a bit more but I still check the chat and talk with old friends there it is sometimes hard to not go back because you wonder but primedice literally played a big role in my life, it has been part of 20% of my entire life.

Primedice is one of the oldest and most trusted casino out there, it has changed a lot since it was launched 6 years ago. Who can forget those days when people would post daily how they were abusing the Primedice faucet, and getting away with it. Six years is a long time considering they’re in a competive industry like gambling but Primedice has survived all the challenges, and has only become better and bigger.

And suddenly they stopped paying me for some secutiry check ( its been 36hours since )

Sorry for my english. I Talk spanish!

See You around!!

@Wooh2323 first of all congratulations on winning that big amount which game did you win it on, if you could share with us your story. As far as your payments are concerned you’ll be paid by them provided you have not tried to cheat them, it’s normal for a casino to verify the winning bets. No one here can guarantee you how long it’ll take for them to clear your payments, but if you have done nothing wrong you’ll be paid by them in coming days just be patient.
5957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using crypto to help the homeless - (for real - with pics!) on: May 06, 2019, 11:31:32 AM
So I just finished my last year of pharmacy school classes and have more free time now. As a result, I decided to start this project "Crypto for the homeless" mainly because I always wanted to get involved with something involving crypto (other than hodling). I also feel strongly compassionate for the homeless because of personal ties to loved ones who experienced it. Anyways, I went out twice so far and handed out some meals. Planning on going out again tomorrow - I was thinking of using a flyer this time with some QR codes and the url for the site to maybe help gain exposure. I definitely plan on expanding this as much as I can.

http://cryptohomeless.home.blog - this is the url - check it out! help spread the word and donate some satoshis if you want! thanks!

This is an noble cause that you’re undertaking and I’ll definitely promote it on Facebook, and other crypto related groups where I’m active. All the very best for this project and I am sure many people will benefit from it. Also I feel you’ll get lots of donations from the alt community, as I have seen them donate for such causes.
5958  Economy / Gambling / Re: Win a Lamborghini for 0.00056 BTC on: May 06, 2019, 06:52:58 AM
I would rather trust up Freebit.co than on this one yet they are more established than any new sites as of this moment. Freebit.co can possibly hit it up and about credibility then they are entirely different.
Dont be afraid because no fool would throw their money even if the ticket is just cheap.

Well, in my honest opinion, both Freebitco.in and this guy have some reputation, in fact some people would argue this guy is more "legit" because he has appeared in the news before, he probably has some company behind his name, and basically due diligence would be easier to do on him. Not so freebitco.in, which is anonymous except for the presence on this forum. I trust freebitcoin much more naturally because I play there and have money there.

@slaman29 I’ll agree with you that this guy has some credibility, he’s also uploaded his photo for proof but I am not convinced he’ll be able to give the Lamborghini to the winner. Who are those people who’re saying he’s more legit than freebitco?, as anyone can open a site and distribute a press release that doesn’t make the person legit. Freebitco has earned it’s reputation and trust over a period of time, and in my opinion Freebitco contest is the legit one.

We are seeing some new faces on here! Betting some 1k usd on each roll  Shocked

It seems big bets are the new normal at Bitdice, it takes lots of courage to play bets like these and he played without fear.

Another day another big Doge wins!

What a big whale it is! Congrats to the winner for winning such a huge amounts of dogecoin. Each of these 2 winners won more than 2 bitcoin which is not a small amount.
Nah! Its just a single player as you can see  Wink

Yeah I also feel it will be the same player only, there’s a slim chance it could be two but I doubt it.
5960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Happy accidents on: May 05, 2019, 06:12:50 PM
What are your gambling accidents that ended up did good to you instead of bad, mine was setting up a reverse martingale instead of the normal martingale with starting bet of 50k satoshi, it ended me winning 0.0035, i immediately ended it when i realize what was happenin

While watching the cricket match by mistake I placed a huge bet, by adding extra zeroes in the amount of the bet. As the match progressed I realised I was about to loose everything as my team was underperforming, and then later on the the match ended in a tie. To my relief they canceled my bet and refunded me and in the super over I placed a new bet, and won a huge amount of money it was my lucky day I feel.
