5961  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do only crypto payments cost customers? on: July 23, 2020, 05:26:08 PM
I don’t know why some comments talk about paying manually, it can be done automatically every month without having to pay manually.
Can you explain? What wallet are you using that lets you set up automatic, recurring, monthly payments? I suppose it is possible if you sign a bunch of transaction in advance and program your wallet to broadcast them at a later date, but it means locking up a UTXO for each month in advance.
Do you mean how to schedule a transaction to be sent in the future?
It is easy. You can prepare a script to check your balance (bitcoin-cli and RPC) and then send to Y address on a particular day or every month.

the new update of https://btcpayserver.org/ includes the refund service[1]. I haven't read how they did it, but you can try the service and if you don't like it, the money will be returned to you.

5962  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Importing Paper wallet to Electrum - Decrypt the Private Key on: July 23, 2020, 05:05:25 PM
I did not keep the printed Paper wallet in it's original format, I cut and scrambled it a bit and my family would know how to put it together again.  Wink (Clues are based on information that they know about me)  Wink
Cutting and assembling the private key in this way does not seem like a wise idea. For example, if you have a private key and cut two parts and someone reaches one of the parts, this does not mean that the time taken to brute-force your private key will be half, but will reduced by 264.

So it is better not to do that, you have to pay attention to where I put the parts and losing any part will make brute-force it much easier.

I recommend using ----> Secret sharing[1]

Depending on the available budget, it is better to employ a dedicated support team to create a platform from scratch because safety is a vital option, that is, any hack that may lead to a loss of depositors’ money.
Scripts will be full of backdoor and you may hacked by someone who sells script for you.

you can start with some projects:

5964  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are 2020's best websites for selling stuff for bitcoin? on: July 22, 2020, 08:20:11 AM
A few years ago it was probably Purse.io when they still allowed selling of products on their platform. .

I read somewhere that Purse.io is still working, so you may need to check it again.

What kind of products do you want to sell: AFAIK:

https://glyde.com/ : sell Cell Phones and Withdraw using bitcoin.

Use escrow services and post links on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit etc.
5965  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do only crypto payments cost customers? on: July 22, 2020, 07:54:57 AM
Suppose you have $1000 on your Paypal account and $1000 in Bitcoin and you would subscribe to the service for $10 a month. Would you prefer to pay in Paypal or Bitcoin (no matter what kind of service it is)?
Bitcoin is a good model against inflation, so no one will adjust the fees monthly to pay the service because it may equal more than 10 dollars, and the price increases in the future, so you will not find a person willing to pay 120 dollars a month knowing that their value will become 200 dollars after a year.

I don’t know why some comments talk about paying manually, it can be done automatically every month without having to pay manually.
Why not solve the problem by issuing a balance in BTC and USD?

The aspect that you should focus on is fees and add many payment options available.
If the service is BTC-related, make it unique.

Orange is the new green is orange paint with orange epoxy on wood, 2 dirty dollarbills where used in it.
Finished with two coats of scratch resistant 2k varnish.
Great work.
The orange looks great as the resin gives it a luster, how long will you keep it outside?
What is the final weight, is it heavy?

If you add some lights, they will look beautiful in the evening, and a frame can be added to them.

5967  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Interest Check] Wearable keys on: July 22, 2020, 06:52:17 AM
It's fun, but it's hard to read a public or private key so it's best to avoid the idea of engraving a private key and try to include a smaller version of QR code.
If you want to use silver, it is better to search for adding more anti-oxidant properties because it will make reading the public key difficult.
If you can find a design that combines the three models, it will be amazing.
A QR private key, split into two parts, which will enable the user to spend money if s/he collects the two parts together.

5968  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: SPV query record (logs/dataset) on: July 22, 2020, 06:21:04 AM
I only want the query-rate of each address. I want to compare the rate of using an address in the blockchain and the rate of querying of the address.
Can you explain in more detail what exactly you are looking for? Huh  Do you mean the difference between the number of times a person checks address and the number of times he uses it? or you mean blokchain.info?

anyway, Electrum works differently from other SPV clients.
Also, I do not think that there will be useful data that can be found through SPV clients, perhaps the only data is useful for blockchain analysis which violate someone's privacy.

5972  Economy / Goods / Re: Can I sell bitcoin and accept payment by Zelle or Venmo in the US? on: July 17, 2020, 12:06:55 PM
I think with Zelle the buyer can call to the bank and reverse the money.  I am not sure about Venmo.

Zelle/Venmo/PayPal are all reversible payment methods, so dealing with them will be dangerous.
If you send Bitcoin (ir-reversible) and accept Zelle/Venmo/PayPal, you bear the risk that the other party will not reverse the transaction, so it is better to do it with trusted people and you avoid doing that with untrustworthy people.

Good part: You can do business with anyone and you do not need to be trusted or have an old deals record.
5973  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Advance youtube course 2020 $10K a Month Secret revealed on: July 17, 2020, 11:58:38 AM
There are no secrets on YouTube, and everyone who participates in any course, no matter how much, will not get $ 10,000 a month from just making videos.
Those who get this price are those who get followers with more than 10 million subscriptions, but given that they are few, it will not be a single training course that will be useful to them.
Stop lying and don't trick some people into making a quick profit.

Warning: Check the trust for this user. >>> Trying to scam $2,000. "Act fast or you will miss out!"
5974  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Summer is a good time to open a password protected wallet.dat - try your luck! on: July 17, 2020, 11:44:57 AM
Stop lying, I'll give you a little hint that you are lying, The smallest size of wallet.dat file is about 90 KB, so how can you create wallets with sizes less than that? You are viewing .dat files, not compressed files?

Source of info

Lets see:
|~size|#TX
fresh|96KB|0
regular|2MB|~300
spam[1]|421MB|195508

So, about half of the data you sell is not for wallet.dat files.

Going back to the rest of the files, it is impossible to brute force password if it is not easy (numbers and some words) and you know a part of it, otherwise you waste the hardware resources. Can you open those files and view the amount of money with them?

Finally, even if it is of economic benefit, you can achieve more profits by using some walletrecovery services.
5975  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] UK Student Email Address .AC.UK on: July 17, 2020, 10:50:45 AM
For starters the UNiDAYS and StudentBeans are based on location so an .edu email is no use to anyone outside US/Canada. These emails are more suited to those living in the United Kingdom, as there are a lot more offers with these emails that can’t be obtained with the American .EDU
I am asking about these offers, which cannot be obtained through other the American .EDU?
The reason for this is the difference in price. The price for some EDU emails offers is around 1-4 dollars, while the price you have is more than 10 dollars. What is the advantage other than that it is suitable for those who live in the UK.

AFAIK, most of EDU email can be used for Amazon Prime / Azure Student / GitHub Student / 1TB Office365 Email /Adobe Discounts, ...etc.

Do I need some personal data or just EDU emails?
5976  Other / Archival / Bitcoin Mining Hashrate and Power Analysis | BitOoda Research on: July 17, 2020, 09:44:52 AM
I will try to summarize some of the information provided by Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) to provide more data and analysis on Bitcoin mining Read it here ---> Bitcoin Power Analysis Hashrate Implications and Miner Economics.

source: click me

Section I: Bitcoin Power Capacity Analysis: How much, where, and at what price

It has been estimated that the Bitcoin mining industry has access to at least 9.6 GW of power, assuming that all of the Hashrate that remained on the May 17 trough was among the most profitable new generation of mining platforms - the "S17 Class*" and all devices that were shut down between May 10 - May 17th were from the older generation, and the "S9-class*"  less profitable machines.

We also assume a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.12 across all relevant calculations, which means that for every 1MW used to directly mine Bitcoin, another 120kw is used to run everything else, including cooling systems, lighting, servers, switches, etc.

source: click me

source: click me

We assess that the BTC mining industry utilizes ~67% of 9.6GW available power capacity, growing at ~10% per annum, powering 2.8mm dedicated Bitcoin mining rigs.

Estimated mining capacity is roughly 50% in China, with the US accounting for another 14%, then Canda, russian,..etc

source: click me

In our assessment, 50% of Bitcoin mining capacity pays 3c or less per kWh. it means lower revenues, and consequently, miners who have high energy costs turn either to lower energy cost areas or shut down.

source: click me

source: click me

Thus, the average monetary cost of 1 BTC mining is around $ 5,000, with a maximum confidence of approximately $ 6000, without other expenses, depreciation, and other costs.
However, there is a small percentage of bitcoin that is extracted at a higher cost of cash than the current price of bitcoin, and a minimum of $ 14,000, and perhaps the reasons that drive them to continue are energy purchase obligations, among others.

source: click me

We note that the S9 class needs less than 2c/kWh to reach even in the current Hashrate network, and it is likely that you will need lower energy prices in order to remain sustainable while Hashrate continues to increase.
If mining with S9 class rigs, it would take about 70 devices and over 100kW, and correspondingly more maintenance and operations labor cost and power overhead to generate the same 1PH/s of Hashrate

source: click me

Quote
In summary: we estimate that there is about 9.6GW of available power capacity for mining Bitcoin, with a current utilization in the mid 60% range. This capacity has a median power price of ~3c/kWh and a median $5000 cash cost to mine 1 BTC. We estimate China accounts for about 50% of global capacity, while the US follows with about 14%. A significant portion of Chinese capacity migrates to take advantage of lower power prices during the flood season, examined in detail in Section II.

Section II: Some surprising conclusions on the relationship between Hashrate growth and China’s flood season

The Southwestern provinces of Sichuan and Yunnan face heavy rain from May to October, causing an increase in hydropower production during this time and thus selling at cheaper prices (Where it is paid about 1c / kWh.)

As shown in the graph below, there is a noticeable difference between average price gains during flood and drought seasons

source: click me

capital accumulation followed by equipment purchase, delivery and deployment is reflected more broadly in the correlation between price appreciation (which supports capital accumulation) and Hashrate growth 4–6 months later

source: click me

Quote
The available and underutilized power capacity, capital accumulation from internal generation by the industry (aided by China’s hydro season), and external funding, as well as diminishing revenue per PH/s, all play a role in the future growth of Hashrate. We examine the future of hash in Section III.

Section III: Bitcoin Hashrate Growth Projections: How much, by when, why, and what could slow (or accelerate) growth.

Bitcoin network can exceed 260EH/s in Hashrate in the next 12–14 months, led by a modest increase in available power capacity from 9.6 to 10.6GW and an upgrade cycle that will replace older generation S9 class rigs with newer S17 and next-generation S19 class rigs

source: click me

We believe that a low 3 nm capacity and potential initial low yield will lead to 5 nm operations is the mainstay of ASIC development and production until 2022. For these reasons, we believe that the S19 class excavators will account for the bulk of the shipments in the next 24 months,

source: click me

So if the Hashrate network increases, the miner's share of the Hashrate total and thus Bitcoin flow decreases. If Bitcoin does not rise to keep pace with the increase in Hashrate, profitability will decrease and a new balance in Hashrate may be created significantly lower than our expectations here.

source: click me

The dollar value of mined BTC will decrease over time, which will decrease profitability unless Bitcoin price goes up enough to make up for it.

Current Target Network Hashrate ~ 124EH / s and current BTC price of $ 9220, daily revenue per PH / s is ~ $ 70. If the Hashrate network would rise to 260EH / s, as we expect during the summer of 2021, Bitcoin would need $ 19,500 in order to have the same $ 70 in daily revenue per PH / s

source: click me

What if the price remains the same? At what point will Hashrate not grow? If the power price is 1c/kWh, the S9 drilling rig can continue to operate up to 180HH/s Hashrate Network. At 3c/kWh, the S19 series devices can maintain operations of up to 295EH/s.

However, the devices will fail to recover the capital cost in Hashrates much less than 295EH/s.

source: click me

If Bitcoin's price will steadily rise to $ 19k in two years at 40% + annually, then S19 class platforms will remain viable even at 5c / kWh power cost

source: click me

Quote
In conclusion, we believe that the Bitcoin Network Hashrate could reach 260EH/s in 12 months and 360 EH/s in 24 months. However, this is somewhat reliant upon the price of Bitcoin appreciating or being expected to appreciate at 25–35% annualized, as per our model. We do not model or forecast the future price of Bitcoin, but merely reflect the impact of potential price scenarios on Hashrate growth, power consumption and mining industry capital investment and profitability. Variance from this range could delay or accelerate Hashrate growth. Bitcoin price and the availability of external capital to bridge the funding gap are potential constraints to the industry’s ability to ramp up Bitcoin mining capacity to 360 EH/s, but the capacity to produce or assemble the needed semiconductor chips is not.

The design looks elegant, I liked the idea, and the choice of colors and their reflection inspired the Japanese anime in the 1990s, like Girls und Panzer.

What I didn't understand is why is there a mouse at the bottom of the image? I thought it was an indication of corruption, but the content of the photo did not show wasted foods or such details.

What kind of tanks appeared in the picture? I thought they are FV4034 Challenger 2.

I’ve purchased one and it’s en route. I will report back the time it took to ship to the US and how it looks IRL
The price is bit high but let's wait for @selassiesoildier report.
5980  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need more examples of decentralized exchanges on: July 16, 2020, 01:46:44 PM
Each type of exchange platform has its pors and cons. Central platforms with high trading volumes and a lot of hosted coins/tokens will be central and need to verify identity because they run millions of dollars in an economic activity. Using platforms with high trading volumes makes you less risky of losing your money because they are earning a lot and are afraid for their reputation.

decentralized platforms are good for people who want to hide their identity, and therefore lower trading volumes and more vulnerable to fraud.
Some of these platforms are open source like bisq and some do not require verification of identity like https://flyp.me/en/#/.

If you want to conduct trading with little money then you may choose one of those sites ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5218464.
