He he 10 mil. I think that 10 milion are not a factor in this market anymore... Maybe 100 or more can catch attention but...
I don't agree. 10 million, even dispersed over 6 months would have an immense impact (if held, of course). In fact I think this could ignite and then persistently fuel a rocket for the whole 6 month period. Don't mix up trading volume with pure buying volume.

Nice! But, it will not work. This is 100% real. If you have heard about it, please mention something here. If not, piss off!
heyhey now. Why so pissed off? You uttered some speculative nonsense and Wagner was nice enough to play along. You should thank him.

Current BTC lending rate is 98% APR!
Yeah, it went from 5%-ish a few days ago to 98% all of a sudden. Big player shorting bitcoins? The rate was ridiculously low compared to USD though. I have BTC loans out at a variable interest rate, and I'm only getting ~3% return (APR) over the past 2 weeks. I'm not sure anyone is actually paying or receiving BTC at 98%. I'm unsure. Does "variable rate" mean that the rate fluctuates while the loan is out or is it fixed when the loan is taken for the duration of the loan?

They could only suppress the price until the fund ran out of BTC to sell on the spot market. The fund would settle for fiat a the bottom and then BTC would revaluate higher.
Or the opposite of this. The fund Trustee has some discretion, it is not required to sell anything on the spot market, or it might sell for other reasons than sale of shares.... But regardless, this funds ability to cause the actual bitcoin spot price to fall is limited by the bitcoins it has to sell. This assumes that "the price" is discovered on the spot market. The danger is that the ETF will take over price discovery... then we might have a huge problem.

I have no idea who is doing it. However, I suspect the Bitcoin Hivemind is engaged in cognitive dissonance.
Just discovered this thread and LOL'd quite a bit. This pushed me over the edge thanks EM. I think everything will be fine just remember don't invest more than you can afford to lose. I like molecular's idea, failing to acknowledge that in December 2012 cost me early retirement. I'll stick with bull trap for now and hold. You should've listened to my intution from early November '12 ;-) my intuition says: we're sitting on a rocket about to be ignited my rational mind tries to find explanations for the intuition: - ECB Paper, ZeroHedge coverage / ... taps whole new reservoir of potential supporters and enemies, this might initiate wider public/academic discussion
- I see an above-average amount of newbs trickling in that seem to be quite educated and understanding already (not your typical gamer kid)
- Market turmoil ahead with the reward halving
- Long consolidation period has been going on
- Ongoing and increasing distrust of fiat money and banking system amongst the general population
- Bitcoin fundamentally rocksolid and more and more people "get it"
- All this taken together might push bitcoin beyond the next "critical mass" checkpoint of adoption / public awareness within the next 1-3 months.
- ...
- rocket ignition
don't jump off ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Don't draw the wrong conclusions now, though. My intuition currently says it's going to be comparably boring for a couple of months. Probably best to step back a bit and enjoy summer.

Don't know wether I like this news. New owner will have to prove he can run the service as smoothly as you have. A bit sad. Hope you got an adequate price.
He has been running it for the past 40 days. Yeah, but will he make frequent improvements as you have? I doubt it if only for one reason: the service is close to perfect as it is now.

Don't get caught in the suckers rally, people. Even though there are profits to be made, we are still in a bear market...dont get greedy.
It went up because I became a bear and sold* at 73 - LOL. This could be a bull trap of course, but I have no idea where the real bottom is should the bear continue. My best guess is still $50 since there seems to be too much interest to push it lower than that. But with BTC3600 being mined every day, if the miners (and others) are perfectly happy to dump all their BTC on the open market for <<$50/BTC, then we will probably see that reflected in the price. Even (especially) if you are willing to buy at $100, you certainly won't pass up an opportunity to buy at ~$40! * it doesn't matter how much I sold, just the fact that I tested out the bear theory. Then the price shot up. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Remember, you can never go broke making a profit! you can if your profit is in paper and that turns worthless. (hypothetically)

In a pm. I wasn't sure if he said it in the thread, so now I'm a bit confused why he makes it a secret here and tells me he sold there.
Not a secret. I was waiting for the new owner to post here, which he will do shortly. Don't know wether I like this news. New owner will have to prove he can run the service as smoothly as you have. A bit sad. Hope you got an adequate price.

conclusion: sha-2(56) reasonably secure (thanks DeathAndTaxes for explaining the research). Reason for doubt (and also LTC popularity): GPU miner denial. Centralization by ASIC seems to be a myth so far. case closed. jgarzik will win the bet against @dakami (if Kaminzki has the balls to take it, which doesn't seem to be the case. But maybe he has no bitcoins, who knows).

Just checked some tracking numbers. The majority of packages has already arrived. 3 people have to pick up their package because postal service wasn't able to deliver it (probably they were not at home at the time) 4 packages are still on their way (to US, US, Norway and UK) or have been delivered but tracking doesn't work. mistakes we made with 2 orders are in the process of being corrected So far all is good ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) .

I didn't knew they had a different size than the 1BTC coins ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) cool. yeah, I even find the 0.5 ones have a better size than the 1 BTC ones.

BTC lending rate on bitfinex is 80% (annual basis). Never seen it above 5% before. Interesting. Did people just discover they can short on bitfinex? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F9zzk4HPl.png&t=663&c=4p0SExxbyCttLA) Perhaps. I know I was mad as hell when I tried to short +$100 and there wasn't any coins left to short. ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) that's why you should always have some bitcoins, so you can go short when time comes ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
