"Think VISA ... right now you buy something (at a gas station, on Amazon) and the bank that issued that Visa card is the third party intermediary trust that brings both sides together and they take their 3-5%"
Yes $0.30 + 2.9% of the transaction normally. This covers chargebacks and the cost of fraud that all card holders bear. With blockchain transactions there is no chargeback, and fraud well it's sort of the wild wild west still.

My question was not on the valuation of the VERI token long term, but on how fees would be collected which Reggie compared to a Hedge Fund's management fee structure.

Yeah, I got that but figured you understood the phrase "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" ... so you're not interested in VERI because it can make you a billionaire but you ARE interested in VERI because you want to know how Reggie gets paid? ... oooooookkkkkkkkaaaaayyyyyy [step back slowly while not turning around]

AltCity,

Think VISA ... right now you buy something (at a gas station, on Amazon) and the bank that issued that Visa card is the third party intermediary trust that brings both sides together and they take their 3-5% ... why would we need those banks in the future? ... We don't ... all those bank profits that go to their management and stockholders would now go to ... us!! ... the Veritas token holders ... if the millions of formerly visa card transactions were using Veritas on the blockchain, do ya think Veritas might be valuable?? ... that's just one application... ANY place there is a third party trust needed to make a transaction (basically every transaction in the world except ones with your closest family) is a potential market for Veritas ...

When Veritas tokens are at $1,000 each a year from now and $100,000 two years from now and headed to $1,000,000 ... many are going to kick themselves for not trading 1 ETH for 30 VERI ... Ethereum can be compared to a platform of a trillion birds' nests ... Veritaseum would be the eagles that lay golden eggs in those nests

Coming up on 1,000,000 VERI tokens !!!

Word is spreading ... ONLY 2 DAYS LEFT!!!  Exchange 1 ETH for 30 VERI

In 2 years, you will literally be angry at CEO Reggie Middleton for not trying harder to market this ICO ... he knows the value of what he's got ... just giving a few of us a chance before Wall Street then the rest of the world in need of third party trust send Veritaseum Veritas to unimaginable heights ... $1.635 Quadrillion market BEFORE Real Estate, Insurance, Health Care, and on and on ...

See you on billionaire's row ... the greatest wealth transfer in history is about to occur as worthless (created out of thin air) debt based fiat currency crashes worldwide and everyone goes into cryptocurrency and precious metals

Monero,

Not trying to avoid your question but Reggie really explains this the best in the presentation below... you may have to listen to each YouTube in the presentation then come back tomorrow and listen again ... it hit me right away but some people don't get what Reggie is getting at the first or even second time through ... then the light bulb comes on ... every place there is an exchange of value there is a trust factor and there are third parties currently making a living off being a third party trust ... there is no need for their escrow service anymore ... they are basically charging rent and adding nothing to the situation but being a third party trust ... enter the TRUST MACHINE or DAO (that's what Veritas means in Latin: Trust)

With that summary, please watch CEO Reggie Middleton's presentation ... he's the visionary ... I compare it to the moment Steve Jobs saw the GUI at Xerox  ... Reggie knew back in 2013 that's what the blockchain offered and all those middle man profits can go to Veritas token holders .. Wall Street finance is just the beginning ... Insurance, Real Estate, Healthcare, and other industries Reggie is not ready to reveal yet ...

See, other ICOs are being started by people who haven't proven themselves to  be able to offer value ... Reggie has already done that .. that's why he has an office on Park Avenue New York City ...  he called Bear Sterns and Lehman and many others before anyone else had a clue ... he's worth hundreds of millions $$$ ... this is his gift to the world, while I'm sure making him much richer

MyEtherWallet is the way to go to buy Veritas.

Set up your MyEtherWallet wallet ... then send your ETH to it ... then exchange 1 ETH for 30 Veritas

Here's the step by step ... first time is a little choppy ... then it's really easy the second time through ... then you have so much fun you want to exchange every ETH for VERI

Don't sell ETH!

BUT

Exchange a few for Veritaseum Veritas that is being set up on the Ethereum network

1 ETH = 30 Veritas

https://blog.veritaseum.com/buy-veritas-tokens

I believe Ethereum and Veritaseum will eventually blend as Reggie Middleton's patents on P2P exchange of value will take the ETH network to the moon ... think about it, every exchange of value in the world (millions per day) that requires some kind of third party trust will be taken over by P2P smart contracts ... but who has applied for the patents on this? ... Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and ... you guessed it: Reggie Middleton's Veritaseum in 2014 and Reggie applied before the other guys ... Veritaseum Veritas will run on the Ethereum ERC20 token standard

This is not a sales pitch ... trying to get some of you "little guys" like me in on it before the whales ... so since this is a Sell ETH? thread ... No, don't sell ETH ... think of ETH like a trillion birds nests and Veritaseum as the eagle that lays golden eggs in those nests

Many good short term cryptocurrency speculations BUT you have to know when to get out and especially if our current debt/fiat currency begins to fail (it will) and/or US $$ stops being THE world currency (that's happening this summer as Yuan takes over) you want out of speculation and into REAL VALUE ... most of today's cryptos won't survive an economic shakeout

That's why I'm going LONG with: VERI  (Veritaseum Veritas)

The best cryptocurrency is one that provides value worldwide AND has a patent that keeps others from doing exactly the same thing

AND is actually run by a CEO that makes healthy decisions for all token holders and protects from manipulators and adjusts to changing society demand

Enter Veritaseum CEO Reggie Middleton ... the Veritaseum Veritas ICO (till May 26th 2017) is being run by a legit Wall Street (actually Reggie's office is 350 Park Avenue) entrepreneur who is redistributing hedge fund and banking profits (that have been spent on their manager and executive pay) to Veritas token holders ... we are talking about a $1.635 Quadrillion market worldwide ... after setting up this worldwide Wall Street, Reggie will develop the Insurance, Healthcare, and Real Estate DAO's to do the same in their respective industries: take out the third party trust middleman at a much cheaper price and no third party failure risk with P2P smart contracts built out on the Ethereum network ... this will be ubiquitous and will be a part of almost every transaction, ever exchange of value in the coming years ... any kind of transaction you can imagine that involves value exchange between parties that don't 100% trust each other (this is ALL exchanges of value and why drug dealing is so dangerous: you can't trust anyone) Veritasium smart contracts are there ... millions of exchanges EVERY DAY ... Reggie has the patents in the pipeline applied for before anyone (including the big banks and hedge funds) in 2014

https://blog.veritaseum.com/buy-veritas-tokens

The link above will show you how to set up a MyEtherWallet and put your ETH in it then how to exchange for Veritaseum Veritas (VERI)

77  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Likely to Hit $3,500 This Year, How true is that? on: May 18, 2017, 05:49:28 AM
With countries like Japan and Australia (July 1 will recognize Bitcoin as money) take it seriously AND worldwide debt based fiat money crashes making 2008 look like a speed bump ... the only places of safety will be precious metals and the most trusted crypto: Bitcoin

My prediction on December 31, 2017:   $10,000+ per BTC    Cool
78  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell my stocks buy bitcoin... on: May 18, 2017, 05:41:12 AM
My philosophy is I must be able to possess it (paper wallet Bitcoin, ETH, or VERI count as holding) so digital stocks that a bank or brokerage "hold" are no longer an option for me ... I invest in silver and crypto ... no 3rd party ... when fiat/debt currency fails, you will not be able to get to stocks because they are selling the same stock certificate electronically to multiple people  Smiley

80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: May 18, 2017, 12:14:24 AM
Bitcoin is certainly more real money than the green currency created out of thin air by the Federal Reserve and used to "buy" Treasury bonds ... and BTC is deflationary Smiley
