I was tempted to try 1 sato/byte, but kind of worried it would be stuck there forever Grin Cheesy
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Largest ever in BTC history. 1.314MB block mined. Segwit is expanding. on: September 09, 2017, 10:59:16 PM
151 satoshi/byte is the medium time fee in Electrum wallet(also in bitcoinfees website) and the 250 satoshi/byte is the fee needed for extremely fast confirmation.

This is really good news as only a few days or weeks ago, we needed at least 400 satoshi/byte for a medium time confirmation and above 500 satoshi/byte for extremely fast confirmations.

Now the satoshi/byte is being cut in half from more than 500 to 250 to have extremely fast confirmation.

Use blockchain wallet, you only charged by 5 satoshi/byte. lol
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Largest ever in BTC history. 1.314MB block mined. Segwit is expanding. on: September 09, 2017, 08:18:23 PM
SegWit is already resulting in extremely significant reductions of fees. Before it was implemented in order for your fee to clear in under an hour you needed to send at least 451+ sats/byte fees, but now you can send as little as 151+ sats/byte fees for the same results. And you can also send 0 fee transactions and they will go through... who would have thought that?!

Are you kidding? In the past a couple of days I always sent with 5 sats/byte or 4/bytes, and it goes out quickly lol

The newly mined segwit block 484398 is largest ever in bitcoin history.  Congrats!

And minutes later, yet another largest block came out lol.  1.372MB!

69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin november hard fork? on: September 07, 2017, 05:47:30 AM
lets clear this matter up

replay protection is not needed!

whn a implementation wants to utilise consensus to upgrade the network when it activates there would be only ONE network, meaning no double coins.. just a majority continuing on one network and a minority stalled with orphans unable to sync. end of

when core demand replay protection they are basically saying they want to create an altcoin by refusing to be part of the upgrade(new implementation(bip)) and will force a altcoin generation if people run the new implementation(bip).

what core should be doing is not being dictators and cause an altcoin. but instead let consensus do its job.

core have bypassed consensus a couple times now to follow the dictator roadmap designed by blockstream and tried pointing fingers elsewhere

EG avoided consensus and then gave the vote to only pools and then hypocritically blamed the pools.

in november core will have code to avoid communication with the next bip yes CORE putting in code to avoid communication with the next bip implementations.. but core will again blame the implementation when infact its core causing the split.

i really wish more people would understand the technology, code, rules and whats actually going on, instead of reading the reddit propaganda

As a bitcoin holder, and speak for many other bitcoin holders and exchanges, what we want is a smooth and stable bitcoin, less confusion and faster transaction, less fees, etc.  Would you like to address to people who think there is no such an urgent to split in November because now bitcoin is low transaction and more segwit deployment would empty more block space. We can at least wait to the point that the block is so full that we can try to increase the block size again.

What will happen to BCash? I mean, they can't support both

They could care less, because this is just another attack on the Legacy/original Bitcoin. It is also a opportunity to divide the community and also a good opportunity to make a lot of money from the free coins.

I would not be amazed if BCash will go the same way as Bitcoin XT < Gone and forgotten >

The fork is just a power struggle between two groups of developers, who wants to be in full control over Bitcoin. The group on the BCrash side knew if they brought out a new Alt coin, it would not succeed, but if they fork Bitcoin and they can get enough people to support it, they would stand a chance to be in control. ^grrrrrrr^

It reminds me of what Wu jihan said, America is America, it is not England. Bitcoin cash is Bitcoin cash, it is not bitcoin.   lol. Think about it. Bitcoin is really what they want. Not Bcash.

Charlie lee, who is the founder of litecoin, posted in his twitter.

I am against Segwit2x hardfork in November due to 3 reasons: - lack of urgent need - lack of replay protection - lack of consensus

I totally agree with him. Now the mempool is almost empty and transaction fee is as low as several cents. There is no urgent need to increase the size. We at least can delay and have more discussion.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we claim that BTC block size is larger than 1MB now? on: September 06, 2017, 09:22:40 PM
You can claim that the effective block size is larger than 1MB.  SegWit introduces new transactions which allow the witness data to be segregated from the rest of the transaction.

Legacy nodes see the block size as 1MB and new nodes see the block size as larger than 1MB.  But due to the segregation of witness data, more transactions can fit into a block and that makes the effective block size larger than 1MB even if some nodes don't see it that way.

You think the effective size is larger than 1MB, but the block size is still less than 1MB?  So I won't win the contract bet?
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we claim that BTC block size is larger than 1MB now? on: September 06, 2017, 09:02:44 PM
The binary bet has nothing to do with the block size capacity being more than 1MB

It is simply betting on whether or not the nexst mined block will be over or under 1MB.

I don't think so. This is a futures' prediction. It only settle once. Its expiry date is Dec. 31.  It's not betting every next block.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can we claim that BTC block size is larger than 1MB now? on: September 06, 2017, 08:54:38 PM
In BitMEX (a bitcoin futures market), there is a binary bet.  In the contract, it says
The contracts settle on a > 1MB block being mined and accepted by the majority on the main Bitcoin chain

My question is can we claim that the BTC block size is larger than 1MB now?  Because I look at the blockchain.info, I constantly see block size larger than 1MB being mined.

whats happening with the blacklisted participants who are in for review? im one of those and there is no movement and no real source of information if im not missing anything. please help
Big Plus to that. I had this week ago http://skrinshoter.ru/s/050917/nADsxk?a and since than nothing happend. No answers at all. I asked in PM almost all moderators on deeponion forum and there also silense.

I am also in the blacklist for unknown reason.(so frustrated)I participated all previous rounds except the last round when I was told I was in blacklist. Send a request to ask them to review on their forum. But so far there's no result. I go to their website every day since last week and check if there's any update. It seems they are overwhelmed by so many applicants. Now the next round airdrop is near. I really don't know if I can participate it or now.  Is there any one here can take a look at my case and let me know the review results?

跌了50%了。 这么好一个产品在,应该不会没用,大不了转手卖给外国人或者把公司搬到香港去。

For useful information about what is happening bookmark the community forums.

This ANN is too much to handle!

It seems the ANN is hard to follow. There's always some change or new requirement that I have to read pages of discussions to find out what's going on and keep my self updated.

Did any of you receive the 7th round already? I haven't yet.
79  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mempool size falling to 0 : what's going on ? on: August 31, 2017, 07:40:25 AM
Blockchain.info is notorious for providing outdated information or delayed information. I do not even use it as a Block explorer anymore, because it is very unreliable. I have done transactions and monitored it with both Blockchain.info and Blockexplorer.com and 90% of the time, Blockexplorer.com will be more accurate than Blockchain.info.

How many other people experience the same problems with Blockchain.info? Do the test and see for yourself. ^smile^
Can you check the mempool size at Blockexplorer.com ?
