Seems like you're cutting corners... with both the 1100 Watt PSU and the 2GB of RAM.

The PSU is a little low for 4 cards and a CPU depending on how many watts your CPU is... and your ram is darned low for a windows machine.

You sir are a god damned idiot.

1100W is MORE than enough for Four 6870s (180w each) and a 65W processor.

2GB of RAM is fine. I'm using 500MB in windows with everything loaded. I have no use for more, this is a dedicated machine.

No corners were cut building this machine

Okay well I'll get to it later then

Lets say I partition the HDD using Linux CD, it will leave windows alone incase it doesn't work?

Whats the recommended distro of linux?
63  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: poclbm/phoenix crashing, nothing works on: May 05, 2011, 04:02:38 AM
all 3 will work great if only 3 is installed

if i install 4...then i get problems with the miner/openCL

i swapped all 4 cards (I have 8 total) and its not the cards, its somewhere software or motherboard setting related (i have two identical mobos too)

the mobo supports 4 graphics cards, at x8/x8/x8/x8

Oh that changes alot. Do you have one of those integrated graphics thing? AMD Windows drivers support only up to 4 gpus.
I don't have any form of integrated graphics/onboard GPU that I can find in device manager or physically on the board.

Athlon X2
MSI 890FXA GD70
4x6870
1100W psu
Windows 7 x32 and x64-both have same problem

it boots with all 4 GPUs, it causes OpenCL programs to crash when i try to start them
boot with 3 gpu, everything is golden

I suppose i can use linux if it will fix the bug.. I just want help then with how to OC the cards and manual fan control

What do you make of this?

Sounds like you need some technical advice and bitcoins. I'm sure if you put up a "Wanted To Buy" on the Market[lace you'll get urgent help if paying in BTC.
what? lol

I suppose i could since its costing not to get this working

the rig works fine with 3 GPUs

none of the GPU miners work when I install card #4...ideas?

Formatted to 32bit windows and the same thing is happening
69  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: poclbm/phoenix crashing, nothing works on: May 05, 2011, 01:18:53 AM
Hmm, that's not an error I've ever seen. The gui miner should work regardless of the actual miner tools working.

I'm at a loss on this one - is that the same error you get when trying to run poclbm?

yes, except it says poclbm.exe, and it doesn't have the orange icon

so, same thing really.... This was not happening untill I re-installed drivers

Perhaps I should re-install windows? it only takes like 15 minutes anyway lol

Just wondering, you sure you have installed opencl drivers? Or the sdk itself?

Installed ATI catalyst suite which should have the drivers

it didnt work, so i installed some APP_SDK which i think is the sdk itself, then this started happening

per suggestion in IRC i'm formatting to 32bit windows. should be done in 20 minutes

upon launch of any miner
72  Bitcoin / Mining / poclbm/phoenix crashing, nothing works on: May 05, 2011, 12:59:11 AM
Ok so I try to cmd line launch any miner and the app just crashes

I've tried:
GUI Miner
poclbm
phoenix

Win 7 64bit, one stick 2GB, 1100W PSU, 4x6870 on MSI 890FXA

if I run any of the miners from a CMD line with or without flags, they all crash

Where do I start
73  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: python OpenCL bitcoin miner on: May 05, 2011, 12:45:38 AM
I have an urgent problem need help with

4x6870s installed into mobo, dummy plugged 3 of them so that I get 4 GPU recognized in win 7 64bit

if i launch poclbm or guiminer the programs close instantly.. same with batch scripting, nothing launches correctly

what do i need to provide to help fix this

I would like to be able to rename workers too

I have a question though, do I put all my machines on the same worker, is this a bad thing? I'm rather curious if I should split them up...

does it matter? Or is it just a preference for you guys to keep track of each rig?
75  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox - too many connections on: May 02, 2011, 11:02:03 PM
Bitcoinex's attacks are preventing many people from accessing their property stored in Mt. Gox.

May I ask how do you know it is him?

He has admitted it many times.

Well, I think I read through most of the posts on this forum, but never read one where he admitted doing it. Can you post a link?
Seconded, I can't find evidence proving who it is.
76  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGox vs mysterious Russia on: May 02, 2011, 10:48:00 PM
Is MtGox still under DDOS attack? I am unable to access it.

....is this serious?

The website reads: Loadavg too high due to ddos, please retry in ~5 min

What do u think?

Yeah Google's DNS IMO is the best.

holy crap. finally deepbit.net is back to its snappy self.
now it's back to its original self! yee
The advice about DNS server goes to you too.
Usually slow page loads are experienced when you use backup server instead of main one, so it would be nice to know, why that happened to you.

wow this is huge improvement, i just noticed i'm not waiting ~10 seconds to load anymore, thank you
Tycho, do you take donations? I may send some btc to support you! Cheesy
...and to you too. Hey, people, WHY didn't anyone told me about the slow loading ? I just didn't knew about it...
Thanks for your support. Address for donations is in the bottom left corner of the site, but it was just my job to fix things Smiley

It is your job indeed, I won't disagree, but its nice that you're also active in the community. Also, LOL@Nobody complaining haha, I figured it was cus ppl would slap F5 waiting for their balance to go up HAHA

I'll be donating once MtGox stops getting fucked and I can get my USD traded to BTC

it used to be instantaneous load when i click on statistics or my account in deepbit

edit: i had an intteruption in my mining via deepbit... what was this one about?
Look at the previous post. Everything is fixed already.
Sorry for interruption.

Did you pause it more than once? I had an interruption twice about 30 minutes ago.. I thoght what you posted was referring to what happened overnight for me
