61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: November 09, 2018, 09:47:06 PM

You can be sarcastic all you want. Unbuckle your seatbelt because the launch has be terminated. I big part of the potential is reward system for small businesses. A client could use Raven wallet intergraded on website or app on mobile device. Most people do not even now what blockchain is. Now, a business owner must find a way to stop unwanted assets popping up on their client's wallet. This means more money and development cost. I have already unwanted sh... in my wallet.

This gave me a chuckle.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: November 07, 2018, 02:51:17 PM

....
You just try to do something for you own benefit and use it as you think it's best. People didn't believe in Bitcoin and still 2 pizzas were sold for 10.000 bitcoin. I think that person who gave 10.000 bitcoin hanged himself or something after seeing where it got to.

Aismen,
You've got the pizza story all wrong. Yes It’s one of the best-known cryptocurrency legends: The guy who bought two pizzas with 10,000 Bitcoin back in 2010 to prove the digital currency worked. He wasn't mad about the cost, he did to prove it could be done. He helped prove that BTC was/is viable as a currency, thus that transaction helped make BTC what it is today. Plus he had a lot more BTC in his wallet.

And guess what - he’s at it again.

This time, early Bitcoin developer Laszlo Hanyecz wanted to test the Lightning Network, a technology that runs parallel to a blockchain like Bitcoin’s network and aims to speed up transactions. A couple of months ago he ended up paying 0.00649 Bitcoin for two pizzas, or $67, and the transaction cost about 6 U.S. cents.

In a year or two someone will say - that guy who bought the pizza for 0.00649 Bitcoin over paid. NO - he is a true Pioneer. And NO, he didn't hang himself. He made millions on Bitcoin.

Just clarifying. Otherwise I agree with your post and your general thoughts.
RVN... to the moon!

Thanks for the answer. I agree that he was a pioneer and yes maybe he payed 10.000 BTCs out of maybe 100K he had. Of course if you look back at all the decisions you've ever made you will always find something that based on current data, looks let's say...stupid. Of course it wasn't back then. That is and will be the first transaction that involved BTC. Even if it wasn't exactly BTC for pizza (for those not knowing the story (short version), a dude asked on a forum who would buy him a pizza or two for BTC. Someone from the UK answered, 10.000 BTC were transferred and the dude from UK placed a long distance call for a pizza order (in the US), payed with credit card and sent the pizza to the requester's home).

Of course, if you look even at today's prices, those two pizzas cost 65 million dollars. In December they would've cost  200 million. When you look at it like this it's absurd but back then BTC was 1 cent i believe. Take into account the long distance call and 2 pizzas, and suddenly 100 dollars doesn't seem so much. Again, i'm pretty sure some part of that guy died when he say BTC at 10.000. Smiley))) it's a nice way of thinking about stuff in a funnier way (i don't wish anything bad to that guy, i might just be a sadist here).

Truth is, people nowadays go on about crypto and the future  and i trust this and that and blablabla, but at the end of the year we all sell most of our cryptos for this thing we call "real money" (dollars, euros, yens etc) to buy stuff with them.

Unfortunately, i was talking to some people a few days ago about crypto and it occurred to us that if a centralized institution, some authority would build a crypto and have a bit of traction from real big players, most of the hashpower in the world i think will go there. Think of it like this. If NASDAQ builds their own coin and crypto network and idea and all, how many people would go on that coin due to the sole reason that when they have a problem they would have someone to go to. As it is crypto's main asset is decentralization, but that all goes out the window when you see you get hacked and expect someone to refund or help you. I don't think the world is ready yet for any type of decentralization (see religion, see politics, see the world actually) yet. When we'll all have chips implanted in our head and have a hive mind, that is when decentralization will really be the way accepted.

Just food for thought. Smiley

Shit did i write a lot of text Smiley)))

RVN pizza worth $220 today.

Some names are vulgar and insulting. It is difficult to have a serious approach to this. So, someone can send an asset called "Bill Clinton is a rapist" to other wallets!! My kids are using this wallet. I am OUT!!

lol. wut. Yeah Chatturga this guys mom can't read the assets. Shut it down.

Whoever is mining Ravencoin to RSa5JNhT8CQT44DDJ9gq2ospns5r9zBZM5 please update your wallet to 2.1.1. Your node is voting no and your blocks are the single reason assets aren't activating.

Whoopsies.

Developers do what they promised and in short terms, I love it.

Yup. Devs have always delivered on time or early. I spoke with them about an exchange only a few weeks ago and they wasted no time. Great project.

as somebody that has mined this coin from the cpu days, i have to say the future is bleak for this coin. it hurts to say that, because bruce fenton gave everybody such high hopes for this project. YES patrick byrne mined this coin (if you think he doesnt have a 1000gpu farm, youre confused) that doesnt inherently mean he invested any fiat. with a daily inflation of about 7 million coins, his inital mine of 60 million really isnt much. also, the chain is supposed to secure assets. bruce claimed securities will be transfared on this chain, and that people will be able to use the platform to create them. WAVES has its mainnet up, POLY has a working product, there are some other projects out there as well. the reason i bring up polymath is PATRICK BYRNE, OSTOCK, AND BRUCE FENTON ARE ADVISORS FOR POLYMATH. polymath is also secured by the ethereum network with is magnitudes stronger than rvn. if you think the development of the coin has the miners in mind, again, youre confused. these big money dudes are investing in all projects (bruce fenton campaigned to be an EOS block producer - YES that shitcoin) THESE PEOPLE JUST WANT MONEY, THEY ARE GOING TO LEAVE YOU WITH BAGS. i sold out reasonably well, i just dont want others to jump into a coin with no future. no future? yes, because no major company will secure their assets on a chain worth less than their company. on the other side of the tracks, if you have many small businesses that are tokenized on the chain, but the chain is worth less than the valuation of the companies. you have a  problem. anybody can goto nicehash(when they get more hash) and 51% a weak chain like rvn if there is an incentive. i just told you why they would be incentivized.

Are you that hater dude that when crazy on the first board?  You sound like it.

I think you're talking about Kai. Haven't heard abbout that guy since the discords split. Enjoy your bags. Ur holding the next hush.

Hey gurl hey.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO BACKUP MY WALLET?

Well theoretically, only once. I'd recommend backing your wallet up on a few different USB drives, as file corruption can happen. Other than that, you only need to launch your xDrop client to send messages or keep your client synced with the blockchain, the wallet file itself contains your private keys and doesn't "need updating."

Official xDrop Project website launch!

https://xdrop.io

Website looks great. Roadmap released!

Great looking wallet. Do you guys have a discord yet, might be good just for networking sake, even if discord is an inferior form of chat. Happy to help out.

Hi everyone,

Wanted to let you in on a project I've been working on called xDrop.

xDrop is a decentralized privacy protected peer-to-peer global cryptocurrency featuring an untraceable encrypted messaging system

It is a fork of XDN (DigitalNote/Ducknote).
It's configured to be optimized for messaging on the blockchain.
It also has a pretty customized GUI Wallet that you can use to send/receive messages using your wallet.
Has a built-in mining capability if you need one.

Check it out for yourself and tell me what you think

Github: https://github.com/xDropProject
Binaries: https://github.com/xDropProject/xDropWallet/releases
Pool: poolxdrop.io:3333 or 4444 or 5555 or 66666

oh, and please send me a message if you do end up trying it Smiley I love having an A-B conversation without an unnecessary 3rd person/entity involved lol

* [This is a pre-announcement] I'll be updating this post in the near future when ready for the official annoncement.

Some screenshots of the GUI per request:

Some details about the cryptocurrency itself:

The total money supply is 999,999,999.000000000 DROPs

10% premine - have been/will be used for bounty program, partnerships and exchange listings, etc.

1.0000000 DROP is 10,000,000 DROPlets.

DROPs are currently being uses to send messages. The current cost per message is 0.01 DROP and then 0.01 DROP per character (if you want the message to be stored on the blockchain). This price will be adjusted periodically to demand.

The current algorithm is CryptoniteV1 (AKA Monero7). It is the most current algo that is ASIC-resistant.

Messages/transactions as a result are: decentralized, private, secure, and untraceable.

Getting an error saying "MSVCP140.dll" & "VCRUNTIME140.dll" are not found. Really like the look of this coin and would like to set up a wallet (added the coin to our discord list of PoW coins too). Can you help me out here dev?

EDIT: i see some people found the missing dll's, will try to install them and report back if that doesnt work!

Pornhub to Accept Tron’s Cryptocurrency, Whose Founder Just Bought BitTorrent

Didn't XVG have exclusivity with PornHub?

What's the point of paying them millions if they're just going to accept every other shitcoin?

I also found this pretty weird.

Yeah i'm buying right now.
