Typical bought accounts / sock puppets. They really should be banned imo but I'm not sure if the mods does that.

http://www.straitstimes.com/business/invest/cryptocurrency-101

Balanced post by ST, nice mention of ACCESS at the end.

Nah, calls its crypto-currency 101, but rushes passes everything, they even published an ap article on an ipo which was treated by crypto experts as a highly possible scam. ST tech journalism is aweful
64  Other / Off-topic / Re: unwanted BIT.AC wallet on: June 15, 2017, 07:24:06 AM
hi. today i received a mail satin that my bit.ac wallet had been created. along with a password.

I never did that. is someone trying to use my Id. or are they (bit.ac) this aggressive in order to get new custommer?

thanks

?Hi, I am a nigerian prince, I have for you 5 million usd in the form of gold in a secure storage vault I opened for you."

Do u think the above statement is aggressive marketing or a scam?

I recently received a scam email claiming to be from Blockchain.info too, but if you check the raw email , you will realised that it is formatted to look like the real one, all the links are not to the actual site.
65  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | 🔥 Bitmixer.io Signature Campaign 🔥 | Earn up to 0.035 BTC/week on: June 14, 2017, 11:16:42 AM
Hello,
Am I eligible as a Sr. Member ? I know I have a big time gap, I just stopped coming here for a while with no particular reason. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to prove that it is my account (other than proving you that I can speak French and Portuguese since I have posted there a few times).

Reading the first page of this campaign to understand the rules is too difficult for you?
Why are you concerned about needing to prove said account is yours unless you have a guilty conscience?
Local board postings are not paid , what is the point of telling us you speak French and Port..

Rant over

Not sure if I am the only one unable to verify your signature, tried both my own checker and mocacinno's

Maybe someone else will have more luck, next time please put your message inside a quote block so it is easier to verify.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MUSICOIN vs. SOUNDCHAIN: which is better? on: June 09, 2017, 07:59:43 AM
Both are crap and not for long term holding. Member Spotify?

I concur with both are crap, Spotify isnt, it's still alive and well, the only reason it is dying is because labels want more and more payments

Can't release the tokens before the conversion platform is completed?
You serious? I invested thinking it would take 2 weeks.... wow

Can't blame anyone if you didn't read before u invest. Maybe I should start an ico that signs over human rights as slaves in the terms and conditions.
69  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Singapore on: June 08, 2017, 03:14:54 PM
the "brother" is actually the brother (younger).  he has been living/working there since 2010 with his wife (indian passport, singapore ep for both).
i have moved back to Mumbai in 2012 after spending 4 years in SG.

what about the bitcoin atm?  which works out to be the most economical way in singapore for the buyer to acquire BTC (prices + fees incl.)?

I would say localbitcoins, the atm has a pretty high premium as of 2 years ago, not sure now though
70  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Singapore on: June 08, 2017, 12:42:02 PM
hello, i wanted to setup an account to buy BTC for my brother who lives in SG.
could you local members please recommend a good platform in Singapore to buy/trade cryptos? A quick search online shows:

CoinHako
FYBSG
Coinbase
Luno

any suggestions?

is the "brother" yourself lol

We won't eat you up, get him his own BCT account? Haha

That aside, localbitcoins have some trustworthy sellers, although the premium may be high. Have not used Coinhako for months, used to last year. As always FYBSG was the first bitcoin exchange in singapore, I think they accept bank xfers last I used them , they also require verification too. As a last choice you can try Coinbase, although they tend to fuck up your contact details causing problems if you want to buy with a bank account, especially if you have both an english name and a chinese name, or the other equivalents in other races. Have not heard of luno actually, weird.

If you need any help feel free to ask here or in the main boards, or even pm if you want. Will reply when I check here.
71  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Incorrect bitcoin transfer amount from coinbase on: June 08, 2017, 02:40:58 AM
Thanks everyone! This is my first time transferring bitcoin, an exciting moment :-)
The transaction fee was 0.002. How does the math add up if I only transferred .001?

Check the transaction on coinbase and give us the tx id, chances are, coinbase told you the maximum you could transfer after deducting fees due to low balance and you did not read properly.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nimiq - A Browser-based Blockchain on: June 08, 2017, 02:39:19 AM
OP has the time to reply to easy comments but have no time to explain how Nimiq is going to stop miners from writing optimised C code to mine nimiq instead of depending on a browser.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nimiq - A Browser-based Blockchain on: June 06, 2017, 12:18:12 PM
What is stopping anyone from rewriting your blockchain code into C or other languages to improve hashrates?
74  Economy / Services / Re: Selling beautiful bitcoin addresses on: June 04, 2017, 11:19:58 AM
Hello all! Someone wants to buy beautiful bitcoin addresses?
Example: 1BTC2ZqS5raaQ5Vv5CtiFJadV7FPYfHL7t

I will send you WIF-key.

Note that 4 symbols (for example, 1BITC...) is 60 times expensive that 3 symbols (1BTC...) because it's harder to generate it.
Your price for 1BTC...?

To anyone even remotely interested, search for vanitygen right on this forum, you can generate said vanity addresses yourself, any old cpu from 6 years ago can generate up to 4 characters excluding the inital 1 within minutes. There is even later versions of oclvanitygen which works on gpus and is being updated by someone.

Do not get scammed by OP, also, if you want others to generate for you, always use split key generation.
75  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Moving coins from Bitstamp to Poloniex on: June 04, 2017, 11:16:38 AM
Most exchanges charge higher fees for bitcoin , with the high fees and mempool problems, ripple might cause you less in fees
76  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Start Up Exchange Costs on: June 04, 2017, 11:08:06 AM
Why would you randomly trust others on a free for all platform on the internet? Much less on one that promotes anonymity and on cryptos?

I imagine you sending your funds to the other party if he actually askes you to.

You want to start an exchange, are you going to deal with fiat? Read up on anti money laundering laws, where do you want to start your exchange in? Country? Location?

So many questions you should know beforehand, if you don't even do enough research or don't even know the answers to these little questions I wrote, chances are you can't afford to setup one or you do not have the business acumen to start one.

Do let us know the website if u intend to start one of your own, or if u revive that old project of yours, it's going to be fun for a few of us here.

Having the software and the hardware or the backend services means nothing if you do not have a legal team.
77  Economy / Services / Re: international/domestic flight ticketing on: June 04, 2017, 11:03:41 AM
100% its trusted site, you need to deposit first in your account before you book ticket. this is cash basis. no money no book

I thought you were using simply this thread to offer your services? Now you suddenly have a website too?

Why don't you give us your "trusted site"?

Cash basis? This is a bitcoin forum.

Deposit first, why don't you buy a sample cheap budget airline ticket for people to confirm.

Most airlines now check for matching name, so you want others to give you real identities + cash, might as well I pass to you my bank account access details.

Other than the occassional crypto news popping up on forbes and mainstream investing news or business sites, I frequently visit coindesk or cointelegraph, sometimes the merkle

_______THANKS________

Here you go, i quoted your post... Make sure you have the know-how for siging a message tough!

what is siging a message ___??
Here is a link on how to sign a message created by Shorena How to sign a message but I don't encourage you to do it now as there is no need for it at this moment, sign a message only when needed like to prove that you really own and have full control of that address that you posted

If he ever loses access to his account, I think theymos or the mods require a pre staked signed message, not just an address.

For all we know, the address could have belonged to his best friend which they are sharing now, one fateful day they fall out, but only his best friend actually knows the private key and password to said address quoted, he can always grab his account by proving that the address was his all along.

It is always recommended to proof ownership of address while staking mentioned address as a catch all.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real life usage of bitcoin on: June 02, 2017, 03:23:45 AM
Since its inception, I have used bitcoins to buy the exact same things you do with fiat, hoard some, invested some, bought stuff from digital games and online purchases to brick and mortar shops that actually occasionally accept bitcoin. Your assumptions are mostly unfounded. Value comes with usage, not with hoarding 100%
