61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congrats to the Diamond Hands Bitcoin Holders! on: March 04, 2021, 10:16:21 AM
Majority of these addresses probably belong to rich whales, institutional investors etc based on my research. However, I would like to congratulate all the HODLERS(rich or poor).

Very few have the guts to HODL patiently for a long period of time despite all the ups and downs of the cryptocurrency market. Personally, I am not a long-term HODLER currently, but I might become one in the future.

You are probably right. Long time holders and eary adopters shoud earn our respect and not all the rich investors whos started with BTC in 2020 and are now considered whales. Lots of them probalby dont even know how to send their BTC to a wallet since they have private investment manager to do this for them.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lowering the electricity bill by mining cryptocurrency on: March 03, 2021, 11:41:57 AM
It could work if I want to get a mining rig but I am living in a tropical country where there is only two seasons: Sunny Season and Rainy Season. Sunny Season is when the everyone is out in the beach and the electricity spike is high and fires are prevalent so I wouldn't take chances. Rainy Seasons will be the time when floods will be devastating houses or if not floods, the rig might be destroyed because roof leaks will be a problem too and strong winds can pick up roofs.

This is a great solution for medium-small rigs. Bigger mining facilities could send the exccess heat back to the grid trough district heating to support water or space heating. Even if you live in tropical climate, you still need hot water.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many people think that Bitcoin is not a currency with practical uses on: March 03, 2021, 11:26:31 AM
Most of us belives, that bitcoin is not ready yet for mass payment adoption since there are still many flaws out there, but blockchain can offer new solutions which would make cryto more practical, we are still in early years of adoption. But i agree, for now there are still not that many practical uses as we would like.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think about the Old coins? on: March 03, 2021, 11:19:23 AM
We can see a lot of over night gains in crypto and people seems to be more risky here, thats why i belive new project are so popular. Everyone is searching for x100 coin and its harder to expect that from a project which is active since 2017.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index - The impact of BTC in the World on: March 03, 2021, 11:13:53 AM
0.6% is not a very large amount. Also, the proportion of renewable sources in electricity production is growing with every passing year. Why no one is talking about the environmental footprint of minting coins and printing banknotes? How much ecological damage is done by the mining of metals that are being used to mint coins? Also, how much forest is cut down every year, for printing banknotes? Once mined, Bitcoin is indestructible. On the other hand, banknotes and coins need to be replaced time to time.

Because this in now a new and popular way of explaining why bitcoin is bad. Before it was pyramid and not backed by anything, now they found this convenient information which every media will use against crypto, which we have to admit its very efficiant way of FUDing
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Better than before on: March 02, 2021, 08:16:50 AM
What supprises me is that google search trends for "bitcoin" bearly reached 50 % of what we had back in the end of 2017. This might show that there are still a lot of potential small investors out there who are already familiar with bitcoin.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I convince people that Bitcoin isn't a financial pyramid? on: March 02, 2021, 08:02:15 AM
I just think bitcoin isn't a ponzi scheme because this product (the digital coin) has a real usage, different from ponzi schemes' products which can be an inexistent service or investment claimed as the source of the profit to be shared with others by the scammers controlling the scheme.

However I can't deny bitcoin needs large adoption to work in a sustainable way and that those on the top (early adopters and whales) are the main benefited. These are similar characteristics to ponzi schemes.

Everyting needs a large adoption for value to grow, that shouldnt be a sign for ponzi.
As for the topic title, i wouldnt even ask that question, because usually if you have to convince someone that a project is NOT a pyramid, it usually is. I dont see a point in convincing people because i dont gain anything direclty form them.
68  Economy / Economics / Re: Google Finance adds Crypto tab on: March 02, 2021, 07:24:51 AM
Well well well, how the turntables... Cheesy Remembering back when Google and Facebook banned all crypto related adds in 2018. Its just too much money for Google to look away now, i am sure we will see payments implemention soon also.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [IEO] ⚡AMEPAY- Crypto ⇌ Retail. IEO in BKEX + Listing in Bithumb Global 🔥 on: March 01, 2021, 04:01:10 PM
What happens when you stake via Metamask on their web wallet? I used that option and cant seem to find any info on my tokens. Will they be send to me back automatically after the staking period ends?
70  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you feel about Bitcoin today? on: March 01, 2021, 03:52:08 PM
Its hard to not be satisfied with todays rise in price but if you went trough 2017/18 faze you know its never good to let your guard down. We are so selfish when it comes to money seem to forget even the recent history.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this still a good time on: February 27, 2021, 05:48:11 PM
Is it over already or it's not too late to invest in altcoins right now? I'm new to this crypto thing and I've been told to invest in top altcoins or BTC but the market isn't looking so good and I don't know if this is still a good time to invest or wait for red market

Its easy to make a decision and invest in a bull market, but now that we are in a dip, it takes guts to decide and put your money into coins. Since you are on this forum, you know most of us are still bullish in crypto so here you will get just positive answers to your question.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano is causing me stress. Rising AFTER I sold mine! on: February 27, 2021, 05:44:42 PM
Best thing to do against stress is just to hold, you saw ADA is one of the top coins and still sold and i bet u are holding shit tokens with no potential just because their price is not moving.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In my school, Bitcoin is now becoming a subject on: February 26, 2021, 08:11:27 AM
We are seeing introduction to blockchain in tech orientated schools for now which shows that students are interested in new techologies, it will probably take some time untill we see crypto beeing thought as a potential new currency.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long, Short or Hodl for LTC? on: February 26, 2021, 07:57:48 AM
I am still positive that LTC has a lot of space to grow. One of the reasons is that the bigest crypto fund Grayscale is still pretty bullish and holds LTC as their 3rd highest investment coin. After we come back from the current correction, we should slowly start to close in on ATH.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you take loan(s) to invest in crypto? on: February 25, 2021, 09:38:24 AM
Just form the fact that you are asking this in forum the answer is hard NO. Do u take a loan when you go to casino? That is a recepie for a disaster.
There is a huge problem with financial iliteracy which in best case leads to depresion. Please people, educate yourselfs before investing anywhere.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ER-20 Token transfer not come through? on: February 24, 2021, 09:46:50 AM
U havent lost anything, the old token is worthless now anyways.
Search for new UTK token in your wallet with adress 0xdc9Ac3C20D1ed0B540dF9b1feDC10039Df13F99c (https://etherscan.io/token/0xdc9Ac3C20D1ed0B540dF9b1feDC10039Df13F99c) and add it to your metamask, or send it trough myetherwallet.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ER-20 Token transfer not come through? on: February 24, 2021, 09:37:51 AM
Utrust made a token swap on September 30th 2020 https://medium.com/utrust/utrust-statement-and-next-steps-on-the-kucoin-hack-bd0ddedf9080 U should get new tokens to your wallet automatically.
Check if you were sending the old tokens to Binance accidentally, in that case they wouldnt show there.
New UTK token adress is 0xdc9Ac3C20D1ed0B540dF9b1feDC10039Df13F99c
Old adress was 0x70a72833d6bf7f508c8224ce59ea1ef3d0ea3a38
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your bull run profit 2021 on: February 23, 2021, 08:15:42 AM
Everyone who entered before 2021 should be in profit now, if not, u are doing it wrong. There is way to many wanabe traders who gets burned by not knowing the basics. For begginers its probably better to eather pay for some trading singnals/trading bot or just hold their investments.
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crashed below $48K, is the bull market in danger? on: February 23, 2021, 08:07:38 AM
I really don' understand thinks just because we have a correction or crash thinks that we are in danger. This is just an opportunity for us to buy bitcoin again at a discount price. We have seen this happen before, just last month, bitcoin goes to $28k and yet we have double that price a week ago. Those who panic sell today will just regret their decision next month when bitcoin = $60k++.

So stop spreading FUD.

That is what everyone wants to believe but in reality regular people are not used to high volatility and FUD really affects them. I agree with your price prediction and to be honest that is what we expect, but its impossible to know for sure. Having said that, i think BTC just became too big to fail right now.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insane Gas Fees on: February 22, 2021, 01:15:34 PM
Don't make a claim, because you will only waste your ETH. Look at the discussion in the bounty group, many people fail in claims.
Hey, I think its not right. Some of my friends claim DEGO token without facing any problem. However, the claim of one or two is failing. Most of the people who are using Trust wallet are failing to make the claim. The chances of failing to claim using Metamask are very low. DEGO tokens now cost more than $4. Then why not claim? Although the transaction fee is much higher when claiming, $20-30 is required. Tomorrow is the last day to claim DEGO. Those who have not yet claimed who should claim.
It looks like there is an error in their smart contract or their token calculation on website is wrong. It all started few days back when you could suddenly claim more tokens than you were entitled to acording to their website. Of course when you actually try to claim them, you first see those ridiculous fees and then an error.
