61  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 30, 2014, 01:33:37 AM
Interesting, a late announcement made late tape out a great news. Is there anything new in the announcement? Great strategy.
Interesting, a late troll made late FUD attempt on great news. Is there anything troll can say to lower price? Great strategy.
I will only try my best to analyze based on facts rather than emotions. What I saw in this announcement was no different from the last one. Specs are the same and just more details. Tape out day was changed from 20 Jan to mid February.

Imagine this news was announced on 20 Jan instead of now. Will you be happy as now or disappointed?

I'm just commenting on this strategy and saying nothing about the future and price of AM shares, because Nothing can be analysed before the chips are ready. So please  stop saying me spread FUD.

Moreover, think a second about how those who panic sold feel about this late announcement. If we don't press AM to improve PR, we may be the next victims.
You are correct. Other than more technical details and a timeline for when chips will be available and their price, the announcement was a non-event. Huh

And plenty can be analyzed from the announcement and its detail. If FC delivers what is in the announcement then AM will have the most compelling and efficient chips on the horizon. Period. Do we know for sure that he will deliver? Nope, and that is a risk. Does FC have a good track record for delivering product? Yes.

63  Economy / Computer hardware / [FS] CoolMax CU-700B 700W PSU on: January 29, 2014, 09:18:42 PM
I sold some miners and have a leftover CoolMax CU-700B 700W PSU. Specs are here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159089

I used it to power a single AsicMiner Cube for a couple of months, so it has been very lightly used (a single cube is well below its maximum rating).

All fair prices considered.

This week's divs = 0.00061457
Confirmed here as well.

If price of BTC goes up, ROI = bye bye.
Ummm, I'm pretty positive if BTC goes up significantly FC will adjust the future price of the chips to reflect the new exchange rate. Why in the world would he not and give away tons of profit to chip buyers? He might be pricing the batches of chips in USD, but I can guarantee you it will also be adjusted based on the exchange rate for further out batches.
66  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: January 29, 2014, 02:16:25 PM
Friedcat has spoken.

AM is on track to deliver, within just a couple of months, chips that are significantly more efficient than another other ASICs shipping or announced. I don't think that point can be overstated. Bottom fishing on this one is done -- they are about to dominate the ASIC chip market.

Hard to tell if you are selling a miner here, or bubble wrap and a heatsink. Can you please post a better photo of the bitfury itself? Thanks.

All I'm saying is that if you look at the entire history of this SB has ultimately come through with his promises -- it just takes longer than what everyone wants. I don't think the slowness is because of fraudulent intent. Given how messed up the entire situation is because of Avalon's colossal failure to deliver chips in a timely fashion and how this has resulted in a total failure of SB's business, I'm willing to give the guy some slack.

Note this has been true with both chip refunds and delivery of working miners -- he has come through on those, albeit slower than most would like. I think it will also be true with the refunds. In the next week or so we'll know the outcome.
Two weeks ago you had the same opinion. Why and what is an issue with refunds? What is the problem and obstacle and on what he been working on to need so much time? He has no money of 25% refund or what?

I have paid near of 1 btc 100 usd for intl shipping what he could not have spend whatever i reqest miners or refund.
Two weeks ago I stated what i knew -- nothing has changed in that regard. You can re-read it if you would like. I don't work for him nor am I spending any more of my time trying to contact or communicate with him for others' sake.

I've stated my opinion and I have the patience to wait longer. If you don't then put your big boy pants on and call him yourself.

I'm not following you.

While we are not responsible for fluctuations in the exchange rate, we have chosen to lock the rate to that of Sept. 11th, the day we announced we would be accepting assembly refund requests, in order to attempt to help ease the BTC losses of our customers. The exchange rate will be $126.61 per BTC, based on the price history of Coinbase.

How in the world is it a bad thing that he is refunding at the $126.61 / BTC rate?
72  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: January 24, 2014, 09:18:19 PM
I was just about to post this... Thanks DMCDAD.  It would be pretty cool to see an SB Post tho...
Agreed. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't come back here ever, or at least until the refunds are processed. It is just too toxic, and he knows what is really important here are the refunds.
73  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: January 24, 2014, 09:13:48 PM
Just got an email from SB (check your inboxes):

Quote from: sb
The refund process is nearing completion. Upon verification of the
database, an email with further information and instructions to process
requests will be sent. Those customers which are eligible should look for
this email next week.

Thank you again for your continued patience.

As I said last week, hang in there folks. I really do think this is all going to be resolved soon. Yes, it has taken a long time and there hasn't been enough communication. But in the end what is important is that SB makes good on the refund deal he offered in December. Call me naive, but I think he is going to.

The shareholders in AM right now aren't in it for short term dividends. They are waiting on gen3. Dividends can go to 0 for a few months and that won't change their perceived value of AM.

As I have said before, bottom fishing this one is tricky. If there is no news from FC for the next month or two then folks will start to panic (as BitHub and friends crank up the FUD) and the price will drift downward. But if FC posts some positive updates between now and chip rollout then the price will continue to be between 0.5 and 1.0 until gen3 is released (then it will go 1.0+). The bottom might very well have already occurred weeks ago around 0.3.
78  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 23, 2014, 02:47:58 AM
Spread FUD much there BitHub? Yeah, people are rushing for the doors as can be seen by the almost 100% increase in share value over the last couple of weeks.
79  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2 ASICMiner Cubes (64GH/s) -- PRICE REDUCED -- On Hand on: January 22, 2014, 11:30:24 PM
Price reduced to just 0.80 BTC for both cubes!

(PatMan: sorry, can only ship within contiguous US)
I'll decide soon. Firm price ?

Yes, firm for now. Will re-adjust if not sold in about a week (based on difficulty change).
Thanks for quick reply. So this has one row of 'x' on both the cubes. Did you try opening then? So, one row is faulty for sure on both?

Yes, each cube had one bad card. I've removed them both and the 5 remaining cards all hash on HIGH clock without any problems.

One card blew a capacitor when I first powered it up, and the other cube wouldn't hash at all until I found and removed the offending card. I tried it in several slots and it always resulted in the entire cube not hashing. I will include both bad cards with the cubes. If you are handy with surface mount soldering then I'm sure you could replace the capacitor at least on the first bad card.
