61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: November 05, 2017, 01:25:20 AM
It would have been very dumb to null top 2% of balances, because then people who have their balances spread over multiple addresses would continue to receive GB (and ones who cared would simply distribute over multiple addresses). If you had done retroactive snapshot, you could have effectively distributed all at once and airdrops would be meaningless, defeating the purpose of getting more users to link. Also, those who held BTC on an exchange, would not be able to withdraw and participate.

Also, the idea of not distributing to bytes that have been moved is ludicrous. The whole point of byteball is using the currency and platform. Most bytes that have moved were not sold on exchanges.

I think a new solution is needed, e.g. continue cashback program, keep 50,000+ GB for development and bring on a bigger core team, including some marketing people, and "ICO" some for the foundation to have BTC and $/ruble or sell on market at a higher price. Or some new method which tonych is implying he came up with.

I think a good sketch of an overall plan would be:

  • halt further distribution to btc holders OR cut it by ~90%, outline maximum GB/GBB to be distributed this way, and add a proportional distribution to ETH holders, and halt distribution when out of allocated GB/GBB
  • outline exactly how many of the remaining GB/GBB will be sent to GB holders, and distribute it in a special distribution or a definite airdrop schedule
  • hold back roughly 50,000-100,000 GB and use it for a foundation to support development and marketing (but mostly development)
  • hold back roughly 10,000-50,000 GB for continuing cashback program
  • use 0-100,000 GB for whatever other mechanisms you have in mind

This way the knowledge of future inflation will be precise and the price/project can have some confidence boost.

I invested twenty GB to titancoin for the second round, good luck with the project!

This will be the first use of our ICO bot which was published on github just recently https://github.com/byteball/ico-bot.  The bot is designed to help entrepreneurs raise funds and distribute their tokens, easily and securely.  This early version accepts only Bytes, it will be extended to also accept BTC and ETH, and possibly USDT.  The tokens are issued immediately after the payment is confirmed.
Wow, that is fantastic all around. Good work. The simplicity over competitors may make byteball a platform of choice for entrepreneurs in the future.

I admire the launch of Titan coin, however I worry that it may not reach (or approach) its goal of 56,000 GB as that is almost 10% of circulating GB supply. Furthermore I would recommend due diligence as it is ambitious project with a complex investor compensation scheme, and there are many steps involved in the plan.

It would be much easier to raise $10 million with a bytes market cap of $1 billion.

The roadmap is the whitepaper.
Yes and that is a great location  Roll Eyes

When is the ICO? Will Come-from-Beyond be joining the team?

edit: can we get a roadmap please?
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: October 28, 2017, 07:29:12 PM
Do you think that the unfilled buy walls on bittrex indicate that dumping is slowing down? 2000 GB dumped into them yesterday, but 1000s more remain on buyside. Already 50,000+ GB have changed hands below 0.05 BTC per GB.

Bittrex exchange has 48,000 GB on it currently. Most concentrated GB holders such as LISK, Iconomi, and 1LdRcdxfbSnmCYYNdeYpUnztiYzVfBEQeC (53,000 BTC holder) have not sold anything recently.

The high volume is encouraging to me because it shows accumulation of most unwanted bytes is occurring even after price crash (rather than continuous dumping into ever-decreasing price). .03 BTC/GB may be the floor.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: best altcoins to invest for 2018 ? on: October 28, 2017, 06:55:10 PM
I like Byteball. Really undervalued right now I think.

What do you think the price of byteball and blackbyte could go to? I saw in the whitepaper that once the units are broken up they can't be repackaged, which would make all the transactions start to go towards just being in bytes. Since they can't be put back into higher denominations it makes me think that the higher denominations could be seen as more valuable. On top of that won't the currency tending to bytes increase the DAG size significantly? I do like the idea of Byteball and the DAG though, I feel like if there are enough nodes to power this it could be a game changer. Only concern on that is whether or not you need a set amount of bytes to operate a node and act as a witness to prevent someone from just creating a bunch of nodes to attack or censor the network.
I think with bitcoin at $10,000, byteball bytes could easily go to $5,000 per GB ($5B market cap) and blackbytes could go to $200 per GBB in the next year or two. Possibly a renaming could help the price and adoption.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2018 and WHY !!! on: October 28, 2017, 06:17:51 PM
I'm holding on to Cardano and Verge. Both are pretty cheap right now but with big updates ahead that I think will cause them to soar.
Cardano looks like it appreciated much from the ICO price. It may take a while for it to rise simply because of its already high valuation ($650M). Verge just has me shocked because it was sitting at $250k market cap for so long.

Byteball seems like a good platform and bytes are very undervalued right now at $200 per GB, great entry point.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 27, 2017, 03:17:28 PM
There is an extraordinarily large bid on bittrex, 130 BTC to buy 4000 GB at .0333.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 19, 2017, 02:40:59 PM
Technically, it looks like the bottom is in for now, although I would wait until the price stays above .04 to be sure. Three consecutive daily green candles and approaching two weeks of staying above 0.03 after hitting it, with moderate volume and moderate/growing buy side of the orderbook. 80 BTC market sell makes the price -33% from .036 whereas 80 BTC market buy takes the price +66% from .036.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: October 16, 2017, 01:11:15 AM
Interesting that it is still around and semi-active. Has anyone been able to withdraw from poloniex this year since the delisting? I have 100,000 something XBB left there. Edit: Wow it isn't even listed in balances any more.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 15, 2017, 07:10:09 PM
Recently, Byteball Community Fund exchanged 50,000 GBB to 1,500 GB on October 5th and October 8th for an average exchange rate of 0.03 GB/GBB! That's 2.5 times the all time GBB volume on Freebe and BEEB combined! Could the identity of the blackbytes purchaser be disclosed? Also, it is unclear how the fund received 10000s in GBB distributions with a GB balance on the order of 10. Undistributed blackbytes go to the community fund. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1foYdri-vadnq8Kbr51QVhBlXiswHtiDpaShVaWO060s/

Current Balances:   1,558.8387 GB   39,159.9683 GBB   5.1924 BTC

I would support additional contributions from the undistributed bytes are made in the realm of 20,000 GB to bolster the finances of the project (separately from founder's 1% reservation). Additional hiring as is financially prudent would bolster confidence and continued development. If the byteball market cap were to breach $1,000,000,000 I would also support significant open market selling of some bytes to raise some bitcoin and additionally hedging into fiat currencies. It wouldn't be wise to sell for much BTC at current prices of bytes.

I am unsure of how the voting feature recently introduced into Byteball works. Possibly this could allow majority of bytes to endorse an allocation from the undistributed pool of bytes. The governance structure would also need to be reexamined and a roadmap created for this to work.

Thoughts?

It seems Tonic scored on the project. The code has not been updated for more than 20 days. You can not go it alone, especially at the age of pulling such a company. We need to create an ecosystem with ICO, employees and so on. Then there are some guarantees that the project will last a long time. In our case, complete hopelessness.
God grant each project a development rate like that of a byte, let alone byte 3 developers, not one (wrote about it and tonic)
The project lives and develops - they hire more developers, here is the vacancy on HeadHunter, contacts directly from Tonic:
https://hh.ru/vacancy/23066099

The salary level is from 100 000 to 135 000 rub. on the hands of the
City of Moscow, Okhotny Ryad
Required work experience 3-6 years

I think with this approach, the platform Byteball will be in the top ten crypto currency.
Ordinary users can also help - you just need to actively use the already created Byteball service capabilities - and write back feedback on new developments, create an environment and community.
Do they really have an office in the center of Moscow? And since in general I thought the salaries of programmers in Moscow are higher, especially with such requests for technology ... I think he will be looking for a man for a long time. Sad

And yet, where will Tonych take the money? Will cashing in the bytballs? Well, we will not go far in terms of price ... He needs ICO to stir up and distribute tokens on the bytball (just do not have to collect bytails - do not sell, it's better to collect the cue ball).

I have used Changelly a lot to exchange 50+ BTC and they have been reliable and honest.

We're getting some major liquidity on buy side and sell side in the blackbyte market, buy/sell 1000s of GBB can move price <20%, midpoint is .0325 GB/GBB. come dump your blackbyte bags or load up today @ freebe.byte-ball.com

Great find! Dev is looking to hire others to help develop project. Can you confirm this is your listing tonych?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 11, 2017, 11:38:39 PM
At least I can watch the GB/GBB market with some sanity. Much more stable than the GB/BTC price. And it's getting more liquid thanks to freebe!

Interesting Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ByteBall/comments/75dkpb/byteball_has_a_name_problem/
I think the project would do well to consider renaming. Look at what hapenned with Antshares --> NEO
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 09, 2017, 09:52:57 PM
This bear market has been tremendous, but buyers at this price have the potential to 100x their investment even in terms of BTC within the next two years--depending on the future course of development and adoption. Over 1 million BTC is linked to airdrops, yet the current market cap is less than 2% of that.
