is this project dead?

I highly doubt it. The team haven't even begun accepting investments for their pre-ICO. I imagine when they do this media blackout won't be around any longer and we'll see the team mentioned in many articles.

how is this airdrop? is it dead or still running? because I want to follow this airdrop.

Just follow the link posted on their Telegram, register an account, fill in the form for the airdrop and edit your profile (filling in your ETH address) and just wait until they update the website. On the website it says that developments will be revealed on your home dashboard, so just keep in touch on their Telegram or through bitcointalk. It will all come together soon
thank you for the information you provide. This airdrop has not been running since the month of september until December there has been no update about the token in get

I understand why this would make you apprehensive if you were an investor with a financial stake in the project, but at this time no one but the members of the team have any true stake in this project and their airdrop is just that, an airdrop. Not to mention that they didn’t actually include the word airdrop in the title of the thread until recently.

I think the team has rethought the distribution model of their project and an airdrop was included in it (in my opinion this was quite benevolent of them considering the weight their project will likely gather). This and many other aspects of the project will be revealed (I assume) in the new whitepaper.

There’s no reason for anyone to panic at this stage. The team haven’t asked for a cent yet and have instead offered us the opportunity to get involved for free in their project. Let’s make the most of this opportunity and open educated discussion on the practical applications and potentials of their project.

What kind of apps would people be interested in seeing available on the Hadron platform? What kind of features are you hoping to see realized through their project?

Thanks for keeping the faith, Overt.

We've just put up the airdrop form: https://hadron.cloud/dashboard

My communications with you have instilled the faith I carry in this project, so thank you for your time while it was available. I, like many others, are eagerly awaiting updates and progress on the project.

63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promising Altcoins With Less Than (or around) 10 Millino $ MCAP on: December 23, 2017, 02:09:14 AM
I can suggest TKR - there is no huge amout of room to grow but:

1) Only 900 000 cap

2) There will be desktop realse very soon.

3) Price wasn't lower than ICO for all time (except moment of bounty spread).

3) Been traded at etherdelta and hitbtc only. When it come to big exchanges market cap will grow for sure  Roll Eyes

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll look up a little about that token and try to open discussion about it.

MNX is a great coin. It MCAP is about 4 mill. It is now about 0.0017 BTC. When it it hits 0.002 you will make profit. It has thousands fans. you can also mine mnx with cpu. The total supply is 19 mill. Minecoin is about 6 mill. There are more opportunities to make money from MNX.

Again, thank you for your suggestion, I'll look into the token now.

Europecoin and spreadcoin.

Once again, thank you very much for your suggestions. Can you elaborate on why you consider each of these projects to be promising? I'll give them a once over myself regardless.

Thanks for a very nice list of coins to look more careful at. The fact is that there are literally thousands of coins by now and certainly more and more research is needed to spot the hidden gems.

No problem brother, I'm happy to contribute to the community with my feeble attempt at educated discussion.  I agree that there are too many coins to analyse properly, but we only need to see a few things to understand that there's an opportunity for an investor and an opportunity for the token to bring financial/social change and greater economic freedom/choice.

For example, look at big projects and ask yourself why they're big projects. More often than not you'll find a lot of those aspects in smaller coins. This also gets easier the more you do it and the more you engage in discussion about it.

When ARK held their ICO they only raised 750k. You still would have had the opportunity to invest and make massive gains after their ICO. In fact, by the time ARK done x10, you still would have had the opportunity to invest in it and make massive gains.

But let's take a look at ARK. From what I can see their team doesn't release news until it's official and they consistently meet the goals set out in their roadmaps. There's a huge use case for their product (cross-blockchain transactions with more features being added to the ARK blockchain itself, [eg smart contracts] not to mention ridiculously quick block confirmation times) within the cryptosphere, which should substantiate it's longevity: if there's any aspect of society around that will use cryptocurrency, it's the society of cryptocurrency itself. The community is enthusiastic, the DPoS method is secure, popular and profitable for everyone and the development team are hard-working. There's a lot more to say about ARK, but just take what I've said about it. Are there other projects with a lower MCAP valuation that tick all these boxes (on some conceptual level)? That's what you're looking for and it's much easier to find than people assume.

While this method doesn't immediately whittle down the number of tokens you have to research, it does make it pretty easy to write certain tokens off as too risky to invest time and money into.

But together we can help eachother. I'll do a bit if research if each of the projects mentioned here and try to open discussion about them

What’s the fudging story you sexy mofos? I have recently opened a thread in the Altcoin Discussion about high potential coins with low MCAPs. Solaris was mentioned by me and is by far my favorite (out of a list of five). If anyone would like to add anything about the project please feel free to pop over and leave a comment explaining why you think Solaris is or is not the token with the highest potential and a low MCAP.

65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promising Altcoins With Less Than (or around) 10 Millino $ MCAP on: December 22, 2017, 11:36:46 PM
If you want to look for 1000x potential, you have to search for a new tech. A project that is bringing something new and unknown to the community. These are pretty old and known.

What do you suggest are projects leveraging capable technology that bring something new to an unknown community with a 1000x potential?

If you want to look for 1000x potential, you have to search for a new tech. A project that is bringing something new and unknown to the community. These are pretty old and known.

or an old dead project that is vastly upgrading their code base to something very interesting

Do you know of anything like this? XBY has done great recently after stagnating for a while. I wanted to get on that to get a masternode, but that’s not a reality anymore. The MCAP for that is quite high now though (for this list, not for investment)

After some eager research last night, I have to say I’m very excited for Solaris (XLR) next year. Incredible room to grow, hard-working team, talented developers, a desire for anonymity and an engaging community make this feature-rich token a sleeping giant. But I’d really appreciate any educated discussion on these tokens or some others.

I also think from the list only Solaris stand out for me, there is a reason why most of these coin have low marketcap in a bull market, what will happen when the market go the other side

I know it seems hopeless to try and find something with a low MCAP and high potential, but that’s exactly why it’s worth it. Once you do, it’s easy as pie. I bought 200 XLR @ ~5$ and I’m already in profit. Now I know what I’m building (1000 XLR), but after that I’ll be hungry to support the next great project. I’d like it to be easy work again. I know the research will be difficult, but it will be worth it. So if there’s anything anyone can suggest, please let me know.

Just read about this project and I'm going to be investing over the holidays. Is there a web wallet available at the moment?

Also, is there any way to assure my involvement in the next bounty campaign come January? Or do I just have to keep an ear to the ground?
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin under 1$ to invest in now? on: December 22, 2017, 03:14:35 AM
I think looking for a coin under x amount is an arbitrary process. If you're looking to invest in a coin that has huge upside potential then you should be looking at the market cap. Solaris is about 5$, but the total market cap of the project is about 4 millino $. With the innate value that project carries you might flip 100x over the next year.

To answer your question though and to give you an idea of a project with huge upside potential, you should look at LIFE. They'll be releasing a card in the Q1 of 2018, along with some huge partnerships (whispers of Toyota and CVC among others), not to mention they already have six adopters of their token committed to them. Market cap of around 6 millino $.

You're welcome.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Promising Altcoins With Less Than (or around) 10 Millino $ MCAP on: December 22, 2017, 02:53:33 AM
I’d like to start a discussion centered around promising altcoins with a market cap of less than 10 million dollars. Obviously it can go a little above this valuation for highly promising projects. The true aim of the discussion is to pinpoint tokens with a huge amount of room to grow (100-10000x), which is an incredibly difficult thing to do these days.

To get the ball rolling I’ll first suggest a few (full disclosure: some of these tokens I’ve just researched for the purpose of this discussion; if you have anything to add or take away from them, please do so, just excuse my excitement):

1. LIFEtoken (MCAP ~ 6 millino $)
 - Aspiring to become a reward system (with a unique distribution model) that can be spent by customers through the LIFEcard (due for release Q1 January), LIFElabs have whispers of promising developments and partnerships being announced soon. They’re currently awaiting to be delisted from CE as they’ve been unprofessional (in regards this team) and the LIFE team want to shrug association from P’n’D exchanges.

2. EverGreenCoin (MCAP ~ 6 millino $)
 - An environmentally friendly, ASIC-resistant (correct me if I’m wrong please) token (that also claims to be an environmental movement), EverGreenCoin also offer 7% PoS rewards for token holders. I actually f****** love this project[1]. They have an EverGreen foundation with four different branches (cannabis, gardens, renewables, water) that contribute to their assigned catergory. Look, I have to do more research on this project, but it’s exciting. Their roadmap for next year looks quite promising thus far. Not to mention, with increasing scrutiny being arrowed toward the cost of electricity in PoW protocols it won’t be long until environmentally friendly tokens get their time to shine, and this one is promising. It’s also listed on BitTrex.

3. Solaris (MCAP ~ 4 millino $)
 - Holy fucking shit[2]. Before I start I am not (yet) invested in this token, but if I’m about to make a terrible mistake please enlighten me. From what I can see Solaris: a unique, ASIC-resistant algorithm created by the Bitsend developer; masternodes; 60-second block time (with ZEROCOIN transactions being enabled January 20th); seesaw reward system which adjusts the reward allocation for masternodes and staking nodes; staking nodes; intentions to create a truly anonymous cryptocurrency; an infinite coin supply (our economies models are just better suited to an inflationary currency, but once the inflation is in the hands of the people...)

4. ZClassic (MCAP ~ 8 millino $)
 - So this is pretty much just filler. I was tempted to leave it out but you can just skip over if it’s not of interest. ZClassic is a fork of ZCash with two small changes (check their bitcointalk for more details on those changes). It’s available for Atmoic swap on the Komodo platform at the moment and I think it has a fork upcoming. Some guy on their thread speculated a price of 500$ just around the corner, which is literally 100x com it’s current price. Anonymity tokens look like they’re going to gain traction in 2018 as governments and regulatory bodies demand that cryptocurrency holders not withhold how much they own to those bodies.

5. Hawala.Today (MCAP ~ 500 k $) (when millino?)
 - Hawala is a P2P crypto-fiat exchange. From what I can tell their app will function as a Google Maps/localbitcoins-kinda thing, so it will rely on more people using it in order to gain traction. You’ll (apparently) be able to buy Hawala tokens globally by purchasing a cash card and entering the serial/PIN and receiving your tokens. Honestly, when it comes around to it, I imagine there will be a QR code behind a peel and not a PIN, but that’s an unimportant feature and clearly I’m using it as filler because I didn’t do in-depth research on this. Oh, you have to get AML/KYC verified to send over 600$. I don’t know if that’s at a time or accumulatively. That’s probably a more important aspect. Imagine if only most of the current crypto market investors used this (never mind new people coming in) how much bigger it could be than 500k.

Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts on these, but not as much as I’d love to hear your thoughts on your own tokens of choice with a low marketcap.

[1] + [2]: couldn’t contain my excitement after digging deeper into them
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sold 90% of Ethereum investment made at $10 in 2016, here's why on: December 11, 2017, 01:22:49 PM
Hmmmmmm, very interesting. Part of me thinks that ETH is too-big-to-fail as there are a plethora of projects on the ETH blockchain.

The KK situation has definitely brought to the forefront what was going to become a problem for ETH (and that will probably become a problem for a lot of crypto): scalability.

I can understand why most people would be worried about this, but it's mountain most are going to have to climb and I expect a lot of projects will see it out to the top, ETH included.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't actively invest in it right now. In fact I'd go as far as MarquiseMuseum in saying that if you got in early maybe now is a good time to cash out, as I expect the price will soon reflect the problems ETH is having with KK, but in no way do I think that ETH is just going to go away forever or get muscled down by most other cryptos. I expect within due time this will be resolved as I imagine it's of utmost priority to the ETH development team.

72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how long until altcoins recover from this bitcoin surge? on: December 08, 2017, 08:28:07 AM
I've been thinking long and hard about this and trying to consolidate everyone's opinion into a workable conclusion and I think alyssa85 is making a good call:

What's happening on Dec 10?

Futures trading starts on the CBOE on Monday 11th December. And futures trading on the CME starts on December 18th.

There is a feeling that the banks and hedge funds will start shorting in order to make the BTC price go down. Money may then rotate into alts.

The introduction of BTC Futures makes it very, very attractive to short once it hits the exchanges. Think of it yourself: give the the option to short or long something that has doubled on itself in a month and doesn't even function as aptly as many other projects within that sphere, what would you do? I think you either have to be balls-to-the-walls crazy, delusional or a hardcore BTC fanboy/girl to go long on it. I also think I you have to be retarded (I don't mean to offend anyone) to get into crypto and ignore the other projects that clearly have broader use cases and better functionality than BTC.

Yesterday I sent a transaction of ARK from BitTrex to my desktop wallet and it took about half a minute, probably less. All I know is when I went to load up and check my desktop wallet after sending the funds they were there.

Yesterday there was a point where 180000 transaction were stuck in limbo.

And what do you think big business thinks of this? Do you honestly think they're so clueless as to miss the fact that BTC is obviously overvalued? Do we see companies like IBM, Microsoft, Samsung, Santander etc. trying to form partnerships with the BTC Core development team?

BTC isn't going anywhere in my opinion, but as another user in this thread said, it's batshit crazy that it commands such a high proportion of the total crypto marketcap. I don't think we as a collective are stupid or impotent enough to let or allow BTC to remain where it is at the moment and I think people will wake up to this. People turning their attention away from BTC could be the best thing to happen to it.

Anyway, I don't know when the BTC frenzy will die down, but I would be extremely cautious going long on BTC post exchange release. If you have the capital and you have a good idea of what altcoins are going to go the length then I suggest scaling into your preferred altcoins while they're cheap.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves Coin on: December 08, 2017, 08:08:14 AM
I have 2 questions about Waves leasing:

1. Is it risky?
2. Can I choose a random address (for example, the one of a friend of mine) as "receiver address" or I earn interests only if I choose an address which run a node? In short, in order to earn interests, can I put any address or just the ones who run nodes?

1. No idea, but I expect not.
2. No idea.

Full disclosure, I didn't come to answer that question but instead at ask/announce about Waves HF that's coming up. Can anyone enlighten me?

And also enlighten this gentleman who's post I quoted?
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves hold for longterm Good or Not? on: December 08, 2017, 07:16:40 AM
I am pretty sure WAVES has a hardfork coming up in the middle of December, and with that I think we can expect to see the price rise. Huge manipulation at the moment to keep the price down, so it's likely it will rocket when given the room.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔺⠀HADRON⠀AI:⠀AIRDROP,⠀Tesla⠀Google⠀Hyperloop⠀adv, Stanford⠀Berkeley⠀team🔺 on: December 05, 2017, 04:42:08 AM
Great to see so many people becoming involved in the hadron.cloud community. The Telegram channel is growing very quickly and I'm sure Hadron will generate formidable momentum in the coming months.

But I implore everyone to engage with the concept of Hadron while they're excited about the airdrop. They're allowing everyone to monetize from the byproducts of what they do everyday through the hadron token; they're allowing app developers to leverage the mouth-wateringly powerful resources they need to develop high-quality apps with the hadron token; and they're creating an ecosystem where people can exchange their hadron tokens to use the high-quality apps and services on offer within the ecosystem, anonymously.

This is an all-in-one package for sharing, creating and exchanging resources.

Welcome to the community.

very smart to have made the request to be removed from coinexchange even though you're not yet on bittrex !!! everyone sells and gets off!

 Angry

Is this sarcasm? I'm not trying to be funny, I just can't decipher the tone of what you're saying.

Anyway, have you read the legal issues with CE? They do seem like a little more than just a dodgy business. As far as I'm aware they actually have no physical address for their business listed anywhere. Here's an excerpt from their literature:

***

Governing Law

This website is controlled by CoinExchange.io. It can be accessed by most countries around the world. By accessing our website, you agree that the statutes and laws of our state, without regard to the conflict of laws and the United Nations Convention on the International Sales of Goods, will apply to all matters relating to the use of this website and the purchase of any products or services through this site.

So decide for yourselves whether or not it was the right decision, but when there isn't much volume of a particular coin and most of it is locked up in an exchange that has terms like those above it's definitely more prudent to remove yourself from there.

Which exchanges are legitimate in your opinion?

I am new to trading but so far I love binance. It by far the best exchange I have used.

Binance is a fantastic exchange.

I would recommend everyone migrate to Binance and KuCoin as soon as possible. They will usurp BitTrex and Poloniex (in my opinion) for cryptocurrency exchanges in the coming future for listing more interesting tokens and providing better service and features.

Hopefully we'll see LIFEtoken listed on KuCoin in the near future, as their revenue-sharing policy is in line with LIFE's manner of distribution and ethos

I would love to be corrected if I'm wrong, but is VRM due to release an application that allows for mobile mining to a pool? And when I say due, I mean, is it going to come out in December?

Also....

great long term project, I'm glad to be aboard  Grin   Mining on the Poolium pool is super stable.

If your PC is running 24/7 anyways you might as well earn some crypto for it and help support a great project

.... don't hate me but I've never mined a cryptocurrency before and I think I'm going to take the plunge with VRM on my computer tomorrow night. Can someone enlighten me though, is it difficult to set up? Is there a (newbie-friendly) mining guide?

But I'm definitely more curious about the mobile mining application?
