61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think an ICO, or coin, is all about the marketing? on: September 22, 2017, 07:28:27 AM

Most of them are even more stupid than the dotcom boom projects...
...
Well yes, I think a lot of projects are like that...but fortunately not all!!!
62  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to cryptos - wallets/coins on: September 21, 2017, 08:45:05 PM
.... I'm almost 100% sure a good number of ICO investors don't read shit about a project, they just go with the hype.
haha...fair enough  Grin
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you picky with ICOs? on: September 21, 2017, 08:39:27 PM

You just have to be, otherwise you are on a road to bankruptcy. There are som many ICOs popping up with no real value, that will just work as a sponge to get your coins. You need to see what the team behind the ICO is, you need to read their white paper, you need to see if the problem they are trying to address makes any sense, you need to see how they are planning on distributing the coins, you need to see what their plans for the future are, and if they are realistic. And trust me, even with all of that, you will lose money eventually.
Thanks! That sounds pretty much like a plan for a decision-making. Great insight, because it is pretty hard to understand what are the real criteria for judging the "quality" of the ICO. Most of them announce a lot, but it is very hard to see trees in that forest Smiley
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pre-ICO bonuses on: September 21, 2017, 08:27:00 PM

I think youre right. Pre sales with a huge bonus get dumped the most time and the price will stay arround the ICO price! I love presales where the community gets added to whitelist. More people that are interested in the project going to invest and they dont dump their coins, because they believe in the project.

I am curious to know more about the whitelists - is that something standard what people do? and how it differs from the ordinary pre-sale? Do people not get any coins before ICO in this case, but just book for some amount? or what? any special topic on the whitelists?
65  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Post like a professional thread. on: September 21, 2017, 08:19:25 PM
You have a Newbie rank so you have limited features due to spam in the past. As far as I remember Junion Member is able to post images directly.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0

According to this thread you can have a 50 character signature and you can't use styling (bold, coloring etc.) You can become a junior member in aproximately 1 month, good luck with that.

sorry, I know it probably should be clear from the rules description, but it is not Smiley - is that the ONLY limitation for newbies to make posts look cool like professional announcements, etc. - I mean the images visibility - or there is something else?
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think an ICO, or coin, is all about the marketing? on: September 21, 2017, 04:18:46 PM
Well, it is fair to say that ICOs are really great for some small and real businesses with very cool product or services which simply can't  raise money with traditional investors...even venture - the barriers are way too high, but generally speaking - marketing here does the same job as for anything else in this world - promotion -communication - access to the right audience
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think an ICO, or coin, is all about the marketing? on: September 21, 2017, 08:47:26 AM
I agree that it is all predominately all about marketing. One the project has no any real product yet it is more about just selling well the idea - and I think it's OK. Even, there is a product or service in a real world, it is still a lot of marketing effort to  "package" it well and promote it to the cryptocurrency community. Would you disagree?
68  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: social media campaign? -newbie on: September 21, 2017, 08:40:32 AM
.... Those who participate in social bounties have the easiest task on earning tokens.
easiest yes, I would agree, but does it let earn more or same comparing to the signature campaign?
69  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: social media campaign? -newbie on: September 21, 2017, 08:38:56 AM
is there any way to calculate what is more beneficial typically? - participate in SMC or signature? any recommendations here?  I understand as a newbie I can't-do the signature now, but how many posts one should do normally to earn something substantial for the signature campaigns? Won't be SM just more easy to do?
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pre-ICO bonuses on: September 21, 2017, 07:08:30 AM
... I usually avoid any project that offer 50% bonus or more during the ICO or Pre-ICO...
Any clear reasons why offering the large discount at about 50% is a bad thing?  I saw several projects doing that...Does 50% discount sound suspicious? Does it give any signal that the project quality is poor?  Or what is wrong with 50%?
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO marketing instruments list (add yours) on: September 21, 2017, 06:42:44 AM
I still wonder can someone share some clear ideas about how to approach the industry opinion leaders and how to get their support and which kind of support that can be? Will they post something in the blogs about your project? Or would they become advisers? Or something else ? And what is the most valuable contribution from the opinion leaders' side?

I also agree that ICO trackers/publish is a good tool to utilize here, as they also may offer additional promotion opportunities such as press-releases publishing or featured articles.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Website to see news for selected cryptocurrencies? on: September 20, 2017, 02:45:12 PM
Is there any website where I can select cryptos that I am interested in and then see filtered news only for my selected cryptos?

I think most cryptocurrency exchangers and trackers offer this kind of things like particular cryptocurrency monitoring. If I am not wrong cryptocompare does and there was an app CryptoLadder . should be something else
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO marketing instruments list (add yours) on: September 20, 2017, 02:18:41 PM
I wonder if somebody here can share any experience for promoting project via direct publications by bloggers/opinion leaders. etc.? I am sure that most of the opinion leader overwhelmed with such kind of request for projects support? or is that mainly works when attracting people via Bounty campaign?
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO marketing instruments list (add yours) on: September 20, 2017, 12:46:14 PM
What I learned from Kickico marketing.

1. Build trust among community.
Investors want to see how team works, if CEO is alive, what company writes in social media and blogs.

2. Asian markets are different.
Classical instruments are worthless. They have WeChat, Kakao etc. Find a middleman - for a local representation.

3. Create useful content.
Videos, to do lists or valuable information. People love to receive added value.

4. Invest in marketing.
Don't dream that once you started your projects - money will pour on your shoulders.

Thank you for sharing - all valuable insights.
and  the first point seems to be the most important - without that part well addressed the rest sounds useless
75  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to automate Bounty campaign? on: September 20, 2017, 12:36:31 PM

I think there are now portals that you can use to make things easier and less complicated for you. I am a member of TheViralExchange ...
Sorry, are these guys have any presence on bitcointalk? or it that something independent like an agency?
76  Local / Новички / Re: Система рангов на bitcointalk.org on: September 20, 2017, 12:30:25 PM
Уверена, уже спрашивали, но поиском найти не могу Sad.
Есть варианты при которых понижается ранг? Если, например, не постишь ничего за большой период, или что-то в этом роде.
77  Local / Новички / Re: Расскажите про подписи on: September 10, 2017, 06:33:02 PM

79  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Rankings for the bounty campaigns managers on: September 08, 2017, 10:31:53 AM

Of course, there are lists of campaigns that are paid for by bitcoin, however, for campaigns paid by share, there are not any listings.

Well, makes sense...Thank you
