61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Browsing Old Bitcoin Forums Blows My Mind on: May 07, 2024, 08:46:10 PM
I was browsing the old web about bitcoin because reading old forums on bitcoin is so fascinating to me. Thats how i just found this platform. I was reading through conversation from 2011 and seeing people just throw around bitcoin not knowing its future value just blows my mind. I wonder where these people are today. I was searching up some of the wallets and it seems like most of the people emptied there wallets by 2012 probably during some of the first pumps. I also came across many old users that still have around like $50,000,000 in their wallets still but havent been active for years. I wonder if these wallets are abandoned. Man this blows my mind its like being in a time machine.

Of course, it's nostalgic to read those early forum post here, some of them might have even interact with Satoshi himself. Maybe some of them are self made billionaires and still active in this community, or at you have describe, could have lost their bitcoin forever.

And you can't blame some of them who might forget their bitcoin and their private keys and mnemonic phrases. Because in the beginning, no one would have thought that the price is going to be big in the future.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between females and males, who are more resistant to gambling losses?  on: May 07, 2024, 02:26:32 PM
Yes, you read right as the topic stated. Also, which gender do you think can easily give up on gambling?

Which gender will get worse when they are addicted to gambling?

Or do you think it's the same thing for every gender that is into gambling?

I was just having a little chat on the other thread when I read a member's comment who says that women are better gamblers, which I really disagree with. I believe that men are the better gamblers here. With all my thoughts running through my mind, I just decided to create this topic to get your view on it.

Although some woman are strong but majority of the woman population have weak emotions and that is why I feel they will easily give up on gambling because they hate to continually loss and the second point is that since women have weak emotions, they can easily get addicted to gambling and can often practice revengeful gambling.

What is your view?

There are studies that support that women are risk averse, meaning that they are not risk taker like men. And with that I think women are more resistant to gambling. And if you go to land base casinos, you can see that there are women sitting on slots machines or card game table, but it it still men who dominated gambling in my opinion.

Even if high ranking positions in government of corporations, it's more of men dominated. However, if we talk about gambling addiction and not just regular gambling wherein women just want to have some fun and entertained, it could be tricky as both sexes can fall on the addiction.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is more regulation coming to online gambling? on: May 07, 2024, 02:11:11 PM
Given the prevalence of online gambling and crypto casinos I think this might be a realistic development that could be coming. It makes me wonder what the future of gambling online with crypto will be then. Will casinos be forced to create their own slot and live games? And perhaps even bring workers abroad to run them without legal consequence? What do you think?

Nah, I don't think that casinos will be forced to create their own slot and live games. They're still going to ride on casino operations, used their license slot and live gates and I don't think that regulators will completely stop online gambling per se.

And for me, for a country to stop online gambling, it's either 100% stop or no continue with it, no middle ground whatsoever.

Or there could be local gaming providers to comply with local rules.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez - Jaime Munguia May 4 Super Middleweight Championship on: May 04, 2024, 01:09:24 AM
^^ Yeah, Canelo by decision will be a good bet for us and the odds are very attractive.

Of course a per round by Canelo to win by knockout is also a good option, but the risk are very high and you need to also have some luck on your end. Munguia though is very young and we will give credit to him for fighting Canelo. This kid has cojones and for sure, we wouldn't be surprised that he will go mano-a-mano and try to outbox Canelo. And yes youth is on his side and let's see how he will take advantage young age or the fresher of the two.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: May 04, 2024, 12:45:52 AM
Yes, I also would like to think the Inoue can at least go as close to Manny when going up in weight. But it seems their strategy is very different. Inoue want's to unify belts and then defend it. But in Manny's case, as far as I know, he will go up in weight class immediately except maybe in the 135 lbs and fight the next easiest or weakest champion that they can find. A very intelligent and careful match making by Bob Arum. And maybe another comparison is that both are under Uncle Bob and so he knows and have the blue print already. But Inoue chooses not to do that at this point and may want to stay at 122 lbs for the time being and clean up the division.
Manny always aim in going up, he could be more than 8th division champion if he didn't skip a division. We can compare him to Manny and that could inspire him but we should not expect too much from Inoue as he seemed to be taking it slowly and doesn't want take an aggressive action about moving up in weight class. That time will definitely come, so let's just be patient and let's focus more on Inoue's upcoming fight and we can again discuss after the game is over.
And perhaps he is not moving up as quick is that maybe he knows his limitations. Can we imagine him fighting at 147 lbs? Manny's settled as this weight class and beating a lot of great boxers. So maybe Inoue might not see himself in the future banging with top prospects at 147 lbs and so he chooses to stay at 122 lbs and test all the mettle of the fighters here before moving up to 126 lbs. And I think he already had history and cemented his legacy this early and so they want to play safe first option. And base on the odds, he is a huge favorite against Nery and so it's hard how Inoue is going to lose in this fight.

He is surely the huge favourite on this upcoming fight. In terms of going up in the weight division, I believe, Inoue's camp is also careful in increasing his weight. It is understandable to have that kind of strategy as he has reputation to keep.

Yes, it's understandable that they will be careful on his body, although he is not that young anymore and I think his body has matured and he could go only at the featherweight to Jr Lightweight and that's it for him, no more 130 lbs as he might bulk and it could affect his speed.

So let's see his body of work against Nery, although Puma is very confident in this interviews that he will beat Inoue, but let's see. I'm not saying 100% that Inoue will win and there's no chance for Nery to win. But look at how Inoue's version in the last couple of fights, hard to see how Nery can overcome Inoue.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 04, 2024, 12:17:28 AM
The Lakers have fired Darvin Ham. Jokic has fired one more person. Now the Lakers need to rebuild. And it looks like LeBron is leaving the team. They might not make the playoffs for many years.

Tonight the Cavs and Mavs will play to end the series. I'm not sure if it will go to Game 7 or if the series will end today. Maybe the Magic can hold on to the series at home, but if the Mavs don't win today, Game 7 will be very difficult for them.

Yeah lebrons only move is to go to a top contender.  What's the point now to start on a rebuild team.  If I had a spot for a good landing it would be the Pelicans.  They are one or 2 pieces away from being a title contender if you ask me.  That and a healthy zion.  Or I can see him coming back to the east and finish with the cavs and maybe go for one more shot with them with his hometown team.

A little crazy that they seemingly blamed Darvin Ham for the Lakers issues. I think Rob Pelinka deserves most of the blame. I’m hearing lots of talk in Phoenix about the Suns trading Booker and picking up LeBron to pair with KD, or KD going to the Lakers to pair with LeBron. Probably just nonsense talk, but I’d love to see those 2 link up.

Yeah, I think Rob should also be fired as well. But we all know that the first head to roll if something bad happens to a team is their coach, so I guess this is forthcoming, just like what happen to Vogel prior, he bring championship to the Lakers but the next season after, it was a disaster.

And so the job tenure of a coach in NBA is short, even if you have successes, you are going to be fired like what happen to Griffin from the Bucks. And then good riddance to them, they've been eliminated by the Pacers and probably some fans could blame Doc Rivers for their woes.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: May 03, 2024, 11:29:12 AM
Looking at the results of the poll, the majority thinks Beterbiev will continue his undefeated, 100% KO streak, but my money would be on Bivol, likely winning by decision. He's simply a better rounded fighter with very high tactical discipline and high "fighting IQ".

It's good to have this fight finally happen, especially when both are still in their prime. Say what you want about the Saudis, but I'm glad they started to make great fights happen.

Here's a link to the press conference:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzgQcJIAzlI
and 6 mins highlights of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8INpr4YlC8

I can't understand why they wouldn't just let them speak in their own native language and just get an interpreter, the results would be much better imo.

And if I'm not mistaken, Bivol is the slight favorite, so I would also think that the oddmakers might be right again.

I wouldn't say that Beterbiev is still in his prime, although undefeated, he is already 39 years old. Bivol for me is in his prime at 33 years old and not much of a wear and tear in his boxing career.

Also there is news that the winner might face Benavidez next.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: May 03, 2024, 10:50:02 AM
There's a little over two weeks for the fight now as the promo hasn't even started yet nor have either parties been posting about it on socials.

This has dragged on for so long that it has killed most of the hype. We originally thought they were going to fight in 2022, only for them to go in separate directions over disagreements about how much money they each thought they deserved. The Saudis then came in and were able to meet their financial demands but a poor performance against Ngannou and a sparring injury delayed it further. Usyk also didn’t leave the best impression in his previous fight, where he managed to survive due to some dubious refereeing.

Yes, they didn't capitalized on the hype, just like when there was also talks of AJ vs Wilder 2018 era if I'm not mistaken when both are still undefeated. They could have earn huge amount but they waited and waited to build that hype until AJ was upset by Ruiz.

And we are probably in the Ryan Garcia hype still as we are talking about a supposedly failed drug test by Ryan.

So boxing fans around the world might have forgotten about this fight and it might only gain traction in the last week of the fight itself.
69  Economy / Speculation / Re: After the dip in crypto, when are we expecting ath? on: May 03, 2024, 10:25:15 AM
With the information I gathered about cryptocurrency, I had interest and decided to buy some coins.
Being fully aware of the volatility of these coins, I was patient and did not panic as their were various degrees of ups and down and was told that this year is the best time to invest in crytocurrency due to the bitcoin halving which has taken place. I have been watching my coins dropping everyday in value thereby inducing fear in me as the value of what I invested has been on the continuous decline.
I do not know how soon they will begin to rise again.
That why it always advisable to always make critical research about anything you are getting your money into. It’s just too bad to see someone still asking questions like this, you don’t sound like someone who made enquiry before even investing. To make it clear to you no one actually knows when a coin will dump or pump, but we can make assumptions based on past details or facts. And based on past facts using the bitcoin Halving to predict the recent halving there will be a pump in the coming months but nobody can say for for sure when it going to happen.

It if is Bitcoin that he invested, then perhaps we all need to wait, currently it seems that this month is not a good month for all of us. And if it's in altcoin, we all know that it's based everything on the movement of Bitcoin so it will be just the same bearish sentiments.

And if we have to look and study, Bitcoin is and will be the prime mover in this market. With that I would suggest to the OP to invest on Bitcoin and at least majority of his portfolio and then just wait and HODL for the right time to sell. The effects of the halving is not that immediate though, at least wait at the end of the year and see how it grows.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: May 03, 2024, 10:12:40 AM
The cryptocurrency market is going viral every day by day across the globe in which Bitcoin ETF approved attract new investors towards the industrial. Hence Bitcoin halving always occur every four years that makes all time high (ATH). Therefore Bitcoin new investors keep increasing as long the cryptocurrency market keep existing the more community keep expanding.

For the record though, approval of Bitcoin spot ETF might be attracted to whales only. For us retail investors, we should know how to take care of our precious Bitcoin, save it in a wallet that we have total control of.

And again, everything cyclical here, like the bull and bear cycle. So if there is a new investor being born every minute, then there could be investors who learn the tricks and become experience or there could be really quitting.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ Sentenced, Your Bitcoin in their Custody on: May 02, 2024, 12:44:54 PM

With all these happening, I suggest we should be reminded as bitcoiners on what we are made for and should not loose focus on how we can achieve our target with the use of bitcoin for our financial economy in all modules of it's applications Privacy should be our heritage with bitcoin, using centralized exchanges is the weakest means to have it, because the governments will be after you when you're under a centralized exchange, they have all your details with them.

Every bitcoiners should understand why they need to have in custody their own digital financial asset and not with third parties like exchange ss, they can be attacked, hacked and if any of these happens, our asset with them are gone, we should learn to avoid the use of exchange, hold our bitcoin on cold storages and remember that not your keys not your coins still ever remains verdict in bitcoin network.

Light sentence for him, and he is lucky, although he had cough up billions already and cooperate with the authorities that's why the sentence is just 4 months, a slap on the wrist.

As for our Bitcoin, yes, although I don't see any connection as he already step down at Binance and so he don't have access to our Bitcoin. Nevertheless, it's bull run already and so it's better to have our BTC in our wallet in which we have total control, private keys and mnemonic phrase.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: May 02, 2024, 12:00:12 PM
Why nobody is discussing that the fight is going to be as a heavyweight fight? Cheesy When Jake was always a cruiserweight. Even though on the paper that can be only few kg difference, on the fight day, the difference might be +10kg. Jake will be having a debut as a heavyweight (already a soil for excuse if he looses Cheesy), so stamina factor might not be so obvious on Jakes side.

No, it's a big difference in weight, so he will be at a disadvantage here but maybe he will try to go as heavy as he can. But remember Mike Tyson is not that big though, he  can make this fight around 200'ish pounds so that is good enough for Jake Paul to at least make 190++ pounds.

Yes, that's what I'm seeing here, gas tank of Mike Tyson is no longer that deep, even if he trains a lot here, he will still be a at disadvantage because of his age. So not sure how Jake Paul can take advantage of that. Maybe he will try to tire Mike Tyson in the first 5 rounds.

I believe Paul's entire game will be around tiring out Tyson until he can do something. Because it doesn't make any sense for him to face him straight away and go for a knockout. If he does this he will suffer a lot

Yes, and if we look at it, this could be a very good strategy for Paul in the beginning. However, if he will have to tire Mike Tyson, he will have to engage him at some point in the fight and it could be still dangerous for him as Mike still have that power even at his age, in my opinion.

And so Mike might go all out in the first couple of rounds and look for a knockout while Jake Paul will try to avoid it at all cost and shell and cover his face to avoid that power coming in his way. But I think Paul's chin is not that solid, so still 50/50 for him to win by this strategy.
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Buy a Bonus VS playing Slot on normal Spin - which do you prefer? on: May 02, 2024, 11:43:57 AM
Well if you want to experience the bonus round then I guess you should avail of the buy bonus. In the beginning, I was not aware of it because I used to play on landbase casinos and there is none of this buy bonus.

But when I play online games, and when I saw this features, I will just readily get and opt to play with it.

However, as slots are base on luck, doesn't matter though if you get the buy bonus or work your way up on a regular bonus. If you are not not lucky enough you might end up losing in the end.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 02, 2024, 10:46:45 AM
Clippers should be investigated them getting blown by 30 points is a crime.  Cheesy
The Clippers are just struggling to get back on track. No need to get investigated. lol They've been inconsistent. But still it's surprising to see Dallas leading by 30 points specially since the Clippers are usually strong at home during the regular season. For sure, game 6 will be the end of this series. It's sad to say Harden, Westbrook and PG will still be ringless.

Who do you think will win the Western Conference Semifinals series between the Mavericks and Thunder? I'll pick Thunder this time.

Many are rooting for this guy to win a ring but I guess the faith would not let them get that since maybe they are really destined to be great but didn't get a ring just like what other great players experience from the past. But I think its fine since fans still could able remember that they are really a lethal player which can dominate on the floor. Also I guess its to early to tell about this since maybe there's miracle to happen and they need to adjust according to how Mavs set their plays. They just need to work well together and maybe they should eliminate their ego that they are the star and they should put more numbers in the game since this will really be the reason on their defeats sharing the ball is really important since Mavs is not really easy team to defeat this season.

Luka made his promise to contribute for the game and they won. he isn't even 100%, we can see that he is still struggling from injury but he is playing like an MVP. Kyrie and Luka combo is present, and everyone played well with their great defense. When Harden and PG are struggling, this is what happen and look at Westbrook,    2-11 shooting, really the big 3 are struggling.

PG 4-13
Harden 2-12

Yeah, he said that he felt that he let Kyrie down in their last game. And so he comes back with a double double performance, although triple with 7 rebounds. And as we have seen in the series, this is a defensive game and the defense of Mavs is one of the most underrated this season.

They've lockdown PG and Harden, and then not let score 100 points in the series.

And if they've done that, there is a big chances that they are going to win. So looking for a close out game next game at their homecourt.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin stable and invisible preventing the devaluation of government Money on: May 02, 2024, 10:31:25 AM
This is what Bitcoin BTC creator Satoshi Nakamoto said
It is an electronic cash. I think it is an electronic cash.

So the question is why the price of Bitcoin increases? Why do we want to save?

Answer: In fact Bitcoin price does not rise, in fact the value of government money is gradually decreasing from -3x to -6x to -16.......and more wil decreasing in future.

BTC 1 Bitcoin was worth 1$ in 2010
Now Today' (2-May-2024). 1 Bitcoin is worth 57000 dollars, 1 Bitcoin is 57000$ means 57000$ worth of money has gradually reduced to 1$ and bitcoin has a power to show it clearly.

Cool And that is the invisible depreciation of inflation and we are become safe when we hold Bitcoin.  Cheesy

Yes, it was designed to be peer to peer electronic cash by Satoshi and in the beginning it is working as designed, but throughout the years, it evolved to be an asset or store of value.

I don't know what you meant by depreciation though, Bitcoin price is very volatile, and base on cycle, the price can go down hard, and we term that bear cycle. And then when the price are going up, like the one that we are seeing this year, then we are in a bull run. But as you have said, just continue to save and accumulate and sooner we might see the price increasing again and the prediction is that we might see 6 digits in the future.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin way forward - Towards $100k or $50k on: May 01, 2024, 11:32:12 AM
And now it looks like the pattern that the OP put here might be emerging, and base on the response including myself, I doubt that $50k might be reach. But today, we've seen fluctuations as long as $56k and then moving forward to $60k.

It's seems that we are in bear market after the halving?

Or it is just the market is not reacting to any as there are no positive news but instead we will go on another downward trend?
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 01, 2024, 10:37:07 AM
@Kemarit. You are correct. There is no argument against the signing of the contract with the rehydration clause is Ryan's fault. My argument is against the fans who do not consider the rehydration clause as the cause of King Ry's loss. Similar to what you have said, Tank will not fight this version of King Ry because he does not want to fight King Ry where he is strongest. However, King Ry agreed to fight Tank in his strongest and with a rehydration clause hehehehehe. I reckon it is very clear who will create a bigger legacy. This will not be Tank.

Too early to say who has a clear legacy, this fighters are still very young, and as per argument there could be fans that at the end of the day will used this fight to push Tank as the best compare to Ryan. Similar to fans that boasted Floyd's 50-0 against Manny Pacquaio for all the greatness after their retirement. But as we can see though, Manny's run was incredible, 8 division and many still considers the greatest and the best and Floyd is just second to him. So let's see how Ryan career will go after that big upset win against Haney. He could be a champion like Manny an be like by fans and even if he has lost already perhaps down in the future, if he chooses good fight, maybe, just maybe he will be up there with some of the great fighters.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: May 01, 2024, 10:05:57 AM
There are a lot of great 122 lbs in history, for sure you are familiar with Manny Pacquiao as he was once a champion at this division. And we will forget about Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales fights at 122 lbs?

I doubt though that a grown ass man can put down a pro 122 lbs. This are train assassins with their hands as their deadly weapon.

The first three fights between Rafael Marquez and Israel Vasquez were also in this weight class and are considered some of the greatest fights of all time. Even thigh there is usually more talent in higher weight classes, super bantamweight has always been a notable exception.

Size isn’t all that matters. Inoue might be shorter than average, but has managed to reach the top of the pound for pound rankings and become a major attraction, selling out the Tokyo Dome. Skill level and entertainment value are what really matter the most, which is why this bout is so highly anticipated .

And I've read that the stadium that Inoue is performing in Japan is around 50,000 capacity and he can fill that up when he fights. In the US, it's only 20,000 full capacity sits. So it make sense for him to just fight in the Japan, but still though US fans wanted to see him in the US soil.

I also love to hear Nery very confident and trying to trash talk his way into the mind of Inoue and, but I don't think that it's going to work.

There are a lot of historical fights in 122 lbs, yes, the trilogy between Marquez vs Vasquez, (maybe they have a 4th fight, I can't remember though, everything is based on my memory so pardon me if I'm wrong here).
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 01, 2024, 09:44:47 AM
The Philly game tonight was something else. They may have won the game but I feel like the basketball community is turning on Joel Embiid. They’re tired of his flopping antics and it shows on social media.

Yeah, and it's Tyrese Maxey who carry the team as the made a incredible run to tie the score and force OT.

So let's see how the series will turn out, I thought that it should be a close out for the Knicks and then relax, now they have to travel to Wells Fargo to get back and end this series for good.

Same with Boston, they need to get a win at the road against the Heat for a 4-1 series win.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 30, 2024, 08:00:37 PM
Perhaps he haven't follow boxing or exhibition matches as we all know that this is not a professional fight and as such, it will not end in 6 seconds because people big money just to see Mike Tyson. And if it ended it 6 seconds, it's going to be one of the biggest scams in boxing.
Officially this fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is now sanctioned as professional fight and it will count on both fighter records.
This is surprise for me, most people expected this to be exhibition fight without judges and with draw possibility because only knockout would count as a win.
Instead we are going to have eight rounds that are two-minute long, so there is a chance someone wins on points.

Whatever you look at it though, even if this is sanctioned as a professional fight, it is still 100% exhibition. A pro fighter, a legend against a glorified Youtuber. That is no match and purely for entertainment purposes only.

Of course, they will have to put some spin on it and supposedly now become a pro fight to hype it. They just want to removed the stigma of Iron Mike vs Roy Jones Jr wherein even if there is judges, the fight was declared a draw.
