61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Poker Rooms on: September 23, 2021, 01:39:54 PM
I also play online poker with a few mBTCs every now and then for fun. Over the years I have tried several providers, including those mentioned here so far. But I found Blockchain.Poker (https://blockchain.poker) the best so far.
The service is relatively uncomplicated to use. No verification or providing of personal data is required.

Wow, that's a pretty nice site. I just registered and played couple of games with the satoshis I was given. I even won a bit. Smiley I think I'll be back.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned betnomi.com. They have great poker section with daily free rolls, GTD tournaments and stuff. They were also running Bitcointalk Poker Series some time ago, which I won. Smiley
Apart from sites mentioned above, I would recommend Betnomi also.

If I would recommend to OP, SwC is a site that I can confidently say. But I must agree that betnomi.com is a good site too. I think that even if with all of these recommendations, OP must still do own research to know and assess what suits OP best.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org hacked. on: September 23, 2021, 12:22:16 PM
When I visit "bitcoin.org" I get redirected to "https://bitcoin.org/de/" which seems to be working fine.
I can only vaguely remember using the site some months ago but there's definitely no pop up asking me for bitcoins or claming to double my coins or whatever.

I have never used bitcoin.org before, and I am somehow glad that I did not, especially this time. Upon checking the site, I also get redirected to the same link and is working fine for me as well. And no message popping up that asks to send bitcoin and a promise of bonus.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think I have a gambling problem on: September 18, 2021, 04:01:42 PM
He is still a minor, and in order for him to successfully create an account and gamble, he has to lie about his age as most gambling sites nowadays will ask if you are over 18 years already before you can proceed as that is a basic requirement.

At 14 years old to be this open, I think OP is smart, and he sees that there's a problem because it will become serious.

I think so too. It is good that OP’s eyes are now opened and came to this realization when behavior towards gambling was observed. It is a huge step in preventing gambling addiction, to have realizations and deciding to do something about it.

That is the scenario I had when I was at that age, and the thing that makes me stop is another hobby. I have another hobby that makes me want to think of that hobby more than the gambling which in my case is playing DOTA. It's kind of also adicting but still makes me away from gambling at the very least.

So just find a hobby that will suit you very well, and is very fun for you to play. And as much as possible, play this games with your friends for full effectivity.

I agree with your advice. Finding a hobby that is far from dealing with money and purely a fun activity is the perfect distraction from gambling for OP.
64  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is a game of capital on: September 18, 2021, 03:53:12 PM
I have experiences of trading with below $10 and making more than 20% of profits. In my opinion, your capital is not a big criteria for your success in trading but your technical and money management capabilities. You may argue like to withstand against negative markets, we must need big capital but when your technical analysis is too good then you may enter at the perfect entry level from where market may not show negative directions.

Trading must be a game of skills and capital and all other things are playing just supporting roles. I agree without capital, we cannot get into trade but having very big capital in no way assure you profits; yeah, still you must need good skills.
These days I do not think that you can start trading with $10, because even the transaction fee is higher. Assuming you somehow earned $10 and it was sent to your account, then we could maybe assume that you would be doing fine by simply swapping in places like BSC, not even ETH because that would be too high fee, if you can find something cheaper and still has some volume in other chains that would be great too because BSC is getting expensive as well.

This is why I believe that we should not be doing anything with 10 bucks but to hold it, just keep that in an investment somewhere, buy cake and stake it maybe, and then try to grow that bigger, it would be a lot more profitable if we did it with more money.

Yeah, I also agree that $10 is not enough in today’s time to be used for trading, because rates has been increasing since then. But I would have to agree to the statement that capital may be a major consideration in trading but technical analysis and management skills are definitely the prime factors that can induce profits, regardless of the amount of capital.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Should be in Syllabus of Students? on: September 18, 2021, 03:45:45 PM
I think instead of Crypto been in the curriculum blockchain technology as a whole should be included in students curriculum. Which would house everything the blockchain can be used to initiate different trust transactions in which crypto currency would be inclusive. But I'm aware some tertiary institution offers it as a course but it should also be introduced in high school in preparation for college
It should not be insisted maybe a adding it in as sub subject or topic wherein investments will tackle the options of what investment one can have depending on their risk appetite on what they can use and what problems they can face. I have teach others to do trading but they did not really like or feel doing it but really enjoy investing in forex or golds and land properties. It’s a matter of what will fit our personality and as a student they should know all the options they can do.

I also think that it should be added as a topic under a course, for example in economics and such, for in can be integrated on some modules throughout a course. I think that regarding to its addition to the curriculum, it must be first passed to the respective educational institutions and assessed if it is really necessary to be taught, and each university that will offer it will be required to be accredited as well.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins on: September 18, 2021, 03:38:36 PM
There are so many old coins that have died in my wallet, we can't set them up again because their prospects have run out, now what we need to look for in new altcoins with lots of prospects and lots of protection so that later the coins we hold don't die like the coins we used to have get.

I also have number of coins in my wallet that can be considered as dead. Through the years that have passed, I have come to accept it and learned not to let my mind linger on this lost profits because I cannot do something about it anymore. Now, I am focused on scrutinizing the projects that I get involve into and conduct forecasts with regards to the potential of the coins.

This step is very correct, instead of wasting time on coins that have died, indeed when talking about losses everyone gets these losses, but if we keep talking about these dead coins, we will be even more lazy to invest, it's better if the coins that have died are forgotten of course, there is no further movement of the coin even though it is done in any way to be pumped back, just focus on new projects that are able to generate and can cover the capital of the dead coin.

I am glad to know that you agree with me. It is pointless to stay down because of dead coins, it is okay to grieve over it but then we must move on. Before, I also had wishful thinking that maybe someday this coins will just pump but I also realize that thy will be done. No matter what happens, I will focus at the present and strive to be wiser in making decisions.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling tax proposal in Ukraine on: September 17, 2021, 02:24:39 PM
Ukraine is not going to tax online gambling sites, which is an impossible task as there are many safe heavens they can move to. The tax will be levied on offline gambling casinos and stores and there is nothing is in taxing these casinos, as mentioned above by DrBeer there was no taxes levied upon them earlier and anyone could operate a casino and now they wanted to tax them and it is normal.

If Ukraine did not tax them before and just now, I don't see anything wrong with this, if you are operating a business and you are making a profit
from your business, it's just right that the government to impose a tax on your business, these casinos are lucky then that they experienced free taxes all these years and now it's time for the government to tax them to sustain government funding, government get their funding from taxing its people and business, it's basic.

I agree with you, especially that this industry have a significant demand, and so taxation on revenues must be done to support government programs. Just like any other business, I think it is reasonable for casinos to be taxed since the amount of their revenues are quite high. Thus, this calls for balancing the economy thru redistribution of wealth for public benefit through government initiatives. Also, this encourages establishments to follow regulations and operate legally.
68  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: At what Age will you introduce your child to trading on: September 17, 2021, 02:08:52 PM
10 years old child can't really understand everything in the market no matter how smart they are.
For me, I think their education is my priority, a child who got into crypto or making money earlier than it should be is likely to one day leave or drop out of school even with out discussing the decision with their parents.
I think if the parents value education like I do, the child should be allowed to focus on his or her academics until he or she gets into the higher institution where they have much more free time for themselves and also, by this time, they have come of a good age to understand fully what money is all about and how it can made, this way, you don't risk your child's education through wanting him or her to start making money early.
Most times we tend to underrate kids. Don't be surprised most of this kids are smarter than most adults and many are very smart when it comes to learning. Definitely some kids might not get the concept the first time but with consistent pictorial view of what they are been taught it would gradually sink in. Presently we have kids in tech writing blocks of code solving automation processes

You have a point here. Children of newer generations tend to be more informed and smart due to the fact that they have more access to information now. As per my take on this, if ever I have a child, I will introduce trading and crypto to my child at the age when his or her comprehension can fully take it. Education from school is nonetheless important, but I want my child to know something outside from classroom and something that I also like to do.

70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google starts accepting Bitcoin ads on: September 17, 2021, 01:44:14 PM
This is indeed a great news and is a huge stepping stone not just for Bitcoin but for cryptocurrencies at large. Google ads can significantly help in spreading awareness about cryptocurrency, which could result into people becoming interested about it, then can consequently have positive impacts on its prices. I really hope that this will pave the way to mass adoption.
71  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [scalpers] Don't just join a moving train on: September 16, 2021, 01:19:25 PM
Yes it you need to be smart and should quick to decide also some guts some scalpers know that sometimes they are on the end of the trail but still join the ride to at least have some profit and some scalpers don't really do stop loss it's to avoid a fake trap and also since they don't leave the trade on their sight there's no need for a stop loss. It's just based on my personal experience as a scalper.
72  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasinorank.com - Reviews and ranking of Crypto Casinos on: September 16, 2021, 01:15:29 PM
Website looks good but what I really do like about it is how do you rank them or your criteria in ranking the casinos for what I've seen there's only few at the moment are you waiting for them to contact your first? or that's the only casino so far you have seen great?
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it true that NFT is the best investment in the future? on: September 16, 2021, 01:10:00 PM
No, not at all. It's like any other cryptocurrency, will be a trend but suddenly will die just like DeFi they're not that in trend just like before. Right now there's a lot of NFT games that crash including SKILL and SLP which drops really low than the previous months prices, I really don't consider it as a good investment but rather a short term investment.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concern about the the problem of online underaged gamblers. on: September 16, 2021, 01:04:37 PM
Honestly that's really a large number of underaged gamblers, right now you can easily create gambling accounts and play but of course there's a restriction in regards of withdrawal but the thing is by just signing up and checking the box that you are legal age, you can easily create an account. No matter how big or small their budget starting at a very young age would have higher chance of getting addicted to it and I think that's really dangerous.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Not all altcoins will recover on: September 15, 2021, 12:30:48 PM
Meme coins are very dangerous to invest but they can be profitable too only in a short period of time and after that when the dump season starts to occur, most of them will eventually end up as shit or dead coins. Same with those altcoins that are only good and profitable in the beginning but in the later part, they will lose their value and won't recover again.

Altcoins are highly volatile and they are more risky to invest compared to bitcoin. This is the reason that if you want to invest in altcoins, DYOR first so you won't end up losing your investments just because you have high hopes that altcoins will always be profitable and won't dump easily.

Well said, considering that nowadays such projects and coins have been rising rampantly. It is crucial to scrutinize every possible angle when investing with altcoins because not all coins are the same and their existential intention differ as well.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cryptocurrency is not Legalized Despite the Many Benefits on: September 15, 2021, 12:15:13 PM
Benefit to the general population doesn't necessarily mean that the government is profiting out of it. If people use cryptocurrency as a mode of payment, then obviously the purchasing power of the national currency will go down. And this will make it harder for the governments to take loans, and to repay the existing loans. Less than 10% of the world nations are operating on surplus budgets. The remainder need to take loans to cover the fiscal deficit. Under such a scenario, weakening of the national currency is the last thing that they want.

This has been a topic for quite some time now, and I could not agree more that the legalization of cryptocurrency will depend on governments and how they see the overall impact of crypto in a nation. That being said, the government will most likely prioritize the consideration of its effect on national currency and operations.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm back into Bitcoin! on: September 15, 2021, 12:09:23 PM
Congrats OP & good for you, I’m happy you were able to recover some bitcoin. You should look to HODL at least 50% of that for future halving cycles. Don’t sell all of it this year.
He has got lucky that he wakes up to having that much bitcoin in his Wallet that have suddenly changed his financial status so he could wait for another 1-2 years to gain evermore because those were eventually lost coins but now he has them back so why not hold them for some more time instead of selling at these dips.Just a friendly advice.

I agree, the wise action to do after encountering such is to plan on how to multiply that amount of BTC. Although it won’t hurt to splurge and enjoy it for a little, it is important not to let thyself get carried away and be reckless in spending.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: YOUR FAVORITE GAMBLING? on: September 15, 2021, 11:31:43 AM
I really do like community games like blast I actually like playing in Bustabit and of course I do like sports betting too. I'm still looking for games that was not commonly see in the casino we have right now something like unique gameplay, right now I'm looking at NFT games but I don't think it can be consider as a gambling site.

I started my gambling journey with bustabit. At that time I was not much familiar with gambling and was quite astonished as to how could it be so easy to make the money double in just a fee seconds.
It was then that I understood that it is all or nothing where we could lose all our money in gambling.
Since then, the crash games have been my favourite and honestly we all lose our money in gambling if we gamble frequently.

It is true that it’s most likely to happen to lose all of your money in gambling. But I think that in this case, we just have to stick with our limitsand have discipline, and most of all, find that game that you are really good at or inclined with.
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [WARNING!] For gamblers using coins.ph on: September 11, 2021, 07:38:46 AM
It looks like a bit trouble for the wallet user, well if it is on their terms and conditions then you should know that. I was curious was it like on direct wallet of the gambling site or you can transfer it to your personal wallet going to that wallet? is that how it works? or as long as the coins are tainted with crypto related coins. I'm curious what will happen will they confiscate it?
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Tether crash to $0? on: September 11, 2021, 06:53:59 AM
You can visit their website https://tether.to/ and you can see that each USDT is backed up with real $1 so it's impossible for the Tether to reach $0 it's possible only if the $ has no value at all you can see that sometimes the price of $1 is not exactly as $1 sometimes it's lower than that or higher. USDT is one of the known stable coins in the market and this helps traders and investors to turn their cryptocurrency to fiat like coin or to avoid crashes I personally consider it as a real $ in form of a coin.
