61  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Avalon ASIC Batch 2 on: March 26, 2013, 03:36:59 PM
Interested, I bid $6000 for a Batch 2, I'm aware you have higher bids..
If the bidders "disappear" feel free to contact me..

Who was chosen to provide escrow..?

Sorry i don't know the technical words for this...

failed tax evasion

It's not his problem he's being taxed based on fiat..

66  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: MSI 7850 1Gb RAM - anyone have these? on: March 18, 2013, 05:09:29 PM
It is voltage locked to 1.25V and it draws power like crazy

My Gigabyte 7850s [2GB version] draw 135w from the wall, that's pretty damn good for 320Mh/s cards..

And I don't see why you need to raise the voltage, the clock itself is pretty stable even at almost 1200Mhz downclocking the memory.. Afterburner can do wonders tho..

I was personally looking at the Gigabyte OC model for a while. Apparently it runs really cool

I got a couple of GB 7850 OCs and I'm surprised how cool they run even after overOCing them, room temp is around 28C during the day and these GPUs won't go over 62C..

I would try switching RAM slots and then taking that CMOS battery off for a couple of minutes..
69  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: dual 6870 on 12.04 LTS - any gotchas or advice? (and 2 easy questions) on: March 18, 2013, 04:50:12 PM
Right now I'm running a single 6870 at stock speeds (900/1050) @ intensity 17 and getting about 290 kH/s sustained at 69C in Xubuntu 12.04 LTS with the 2.4SDK and 2.6 driver.

I've got a 2nd 6870 waiting to go in - have to wait on a bigger PSU.  2 questions about this upcoming upgrade:
1.  Are the gains of a 2nd adapter usually 2x or some smaller percentage, like +75% so far as hash rate goes?
2.  Do I need the crossfire adapter or do I run these independently?  I've never had more than one GPU before...

Anyone got any advice for optimizations or gotchas I should be aware of for this configuration?

Thanks!

You could probably hash at ~275-325 with the right flags..

You can run all the cards your system can take without penalty as long as you DO NOT cross/triple/etc-fire them, run them independently with VGA plugs, that's how I had my 4 6870s mining back in the time I had them..
Thanks man - never heard of the VGA plug thing before!

They're easy to make, just 3 resistors on a DVI2VGA adapter and you're set.. Plenty of DIYs out there..
70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Got offered an Avalon, how much to pay? on: March 18, 2013, 03:12:55 PM
I got like 10 messages in "my messages" - sorry to write in caps - NOT FOR SALE Smiley

You're asking to get flooded with SPAM..!

That's an impressive number of GH, envy.. But the good kind..

Cheers.

Worry not, GPU mining will prevail after SHA256 is ditched when ASIC becomes mainstream..
73  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: "OpenCL.dll" .... a couple questions on: March 15, 2013, 05:31:08 PM
It comes bundled with the catalyst if you're using AMD/ATi..
74  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GUIminer - Cant set flags on: March 15, 2013, 05:29:20 PM
Sorry I can't give you a better response besides the generic "try other version of the miner instance and drivers" one..

I've never even tried to mine with Nvidia because of it's performance..
75  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GUIminer - Cant set flags on: March 14, 2013, 06:04:51 PM
Aren't flags based on openGL instructions..?
