61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on Uber on: December 06, 2017, 01:15:27 PM
Meanwhile, bitcoin just got integrated with Uber for tipping drivers. Isn't that a good news?

Uber's had trouble with regulation in many countries and states. Bitcoin can help them operate better in these areas. If people convert fiat to bitcoin for spending, it's just them using it as a currency and not investing. I love this use case, it's an example of why bitcoin is so promising and such a good investment in the first place!

This is how I do it as well. The shift card Visa debit works great but may not be available in your state. This is a good solution until uber starts to accept bitcoin directly.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, is it really just a bubble? on: December 05, 2017, 02:15:54 PM
Bitcoin has recently been a hot topic among many people, economist especially. But as it moves towards the $12,000 index many are having doubts as to how stable the market for bitcoin really is. Just recently, an expert from Yale who was considered as Wall Street's most influential economist described it as a dangerous speculative bubble due to its lack of intrinsic underlying economic value to the concept.

Despite the lack of understanding of its mechanics by lots of investors, why and how does it continue to prosper?

Is it really just a bubble? And if it is, when is this bubble going to burst?

The internet is replete with people referring to bitcoin as a “bubble.” They are spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt galore. They believe bitcoin’s high price spells impending doom, but their criticisms move beyond mere skepticism. It seems like they just hate cryptocurrency. Yet many of these pundits do not fully grasp bitcoin…or even economics.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop buying Bitcoin! on: December 05, 2017, 02:01:32 PM
You guys should stop buying Bitcoin - how am I going to fatten my wallet if the price keeps rocketing up?

What are we going to do when the Satoshi achieves parity with the dollar? Smiley

You're right, honestly. I was a huge skeptic of BTC for a long time but am slowly realizing just how influential it may be. I have this odd feeling that in 10-20 years owning even .1 BTC will be incredibly valuable.
The way I see it:
If there are major wars, BTC will go up
If there are problems with countries currency, BTC will go up
More investing firms are adopting Bitcoin (finally)
There is a finite amount of the currency

Internationalism is growing, which is reducing powers of national governments. That should also reduce their power to control national currencies. So btc and other neutral international solutions will grow.

Exaactly. Countries print money every day. But that's not possible with BTC. It's going up in value and every other currency is going down in value.

Good points. I also think its going to be referenced A LOT more in popular culture which will be cementing its ubiquity as the name/source of cryptocurrency.
The hype is just getting started.

Within the next two years? Pf. Make that by January Cheesy

Fingers crossed. But would you keep buying in January if it hit 15k?
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people sell bitcoins? on: December 04, 2017, 10:20:03 PM
People can use bitcoin in many ways. They sell it for their own needs. They can earn their livelihood by selling bitcoin, sometime they use it for financial problem. They can buy something .when people think it is a best time of bitcoin to sell they sell it for profit.

While the Chinese government has told cryptocurrency exchanges to stop trading bitcoin, it has not explicitly banned possession and production of the digital currency – offering hope to miners that they can continue to dig out bitcoin and sell them on overseas platforms.

67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people sell bitcoins? on: December 04, 2017, 08:27:06 PM
Worldwide, especially in my place, must sell it for profit rather than always keep it!
The government always forbids the use and play bitcoin so that it can not grow fully potential in my place. Surely it remains an advantage if there is a transaction rotation for bitcoin in my country to live.

Maybe because its safer to not have them all stored because they can get hacked and robbed? And if they were… “Paper firmed” (somehow i readed that one can have theyr bitcoins in paper instead of wallet i dont remember how) because they can get physical robbed or wrecked too?
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teen investing $1,000 .... What should I do ? on: December 04, 2017, 08:11:42 PM
Hello, I have 2 questions:

I have about $1k I want to invest in crypto... being a teen I want to invest this for the long term 5/10 years, what cryptos should I invest in ?

I have looked into Exodus and with the recovery phase, is it a safe way to store crypto ? I know about paper wallets, but they are not a convenient way to access funds and also can be effected by the environment, water, stolen etc... This is why I would like to use exodus, it seems like a good method.

I don't want to use a hardware wallet, If exodus is considered 'safe' I do not feel a hardware wallet is necessary for $1k amount, also its not as convenient.

Thanks !  Smiley

Where do you think the value of BTC is in 10-15 years. I have a pension that kicks in 21yrs from now, but would love to retire early and live off BTC for a few years.

Honestly, I'm a bit of a newb to this stuff, and no expert by any means, I'm just calling for some basic considerations for crypto investments.
That said, I have been doing a fair amount of reading and thought over the past few months, and tbh I don't think Bitcoin is going to be worth all that much 15 years from now. It excels at nothing. Right now it's running on little more than brand name, and it's only a matter of time before it's crushed by already existing more nimble, more capable coins. My advice, if you're looking to invest for the long term rather than to spend much time trading, is to diversify and to try to spend some time researching coins and comparing their relative usefulness. Besides that plenty of other coins are much more capable, they've also got a lot more room to grow. Personally, my biggest hopes are for IOTA, but I'd never put everything on one coin.
As far as total global crypto cap 10-15 years from now, who can really say, there are so many variables (I think the legal backlash is a particularly strong threat, as are security catastrophes, such as inevitable quantum attacks on coins that lack quantum-resistance), but in my mind $3-25 trillion seems like a much more reasonable conjecture, and there's a good chance that whatever coin comes out on top makes up at least 20-40% of that.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You want to be a millionaire? if you own 0.01 btc you already are on: December 04, 2017, 07:12:05 PM
The title says it all get 0.01 btc and you are on ur way to becoming a millionaire, you already are one if you do not know the true value of bitcoins, cough cough Satoshis.  Forget about owning a full bitcoin, you want to earn satoshis, which we call the units of 0 and 1 or Mbits milibitcoins.  Soon a few years from now 1 satoshi will be the equivalent of 1 USD or Euro if money is still around. You know yes most of you missed the billion dollar train but still you have time to have a million dollars worth of satoshis.  so if you do the math owning 0.10,000,000 = 10 million USD  so if you own 0.01 that makes it 1 million dollars.

You are wondering why I am saying bitcoin is worth 100 million dollars right?  We have a long way to go.  Cough cough, Many factors that contribute the value of 1 bitcoin being worth 100 million dollars.  Well Bitcoin is not just a local or gov owned store of value, its competing with Fiat currency all over the world, from USD, to the YEN.  There are many factors I can shoot out but one major one is that Bitcoin is becoming mainstreamed and the fact there is probably going to be 16 million bitcoins in circulation, why I said 16 mil?  because they are probably around 5 million bitcoins lost.  If you want to add to this topic any more factors that reason why you are already sitting on a million dollars, please be free to do so.

If you own 1/4 of a single bitcoin you will be a millionaire in 15 years

At 4 million plus a coin, that's a market cap of over 75 trillion... What world do you live in!?!?!

71  Local / Бayнти и aиpдpoпы / Re: И опять вопросы по баунти.... on: November 27, 2017, 01:36:14 PM

72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Look how fast Bitcoin is moving on: November 22, 2017, 01:31:49 PM
This is the key argument for people promoting Bitcoin: Look how where we were a few months ago and look where we are now. It is only going faster - you should join.

This means that these people have jumped out of an airplane with no parachute.

They are now halfway down and are telling their friends: Look how well this is working, and it is going faster and faster.

When you tell the people they are going to crash-land, they just tell you it is FUD and that in their experience things have been going great since they jumped out of the airplane.

Too much risk with this parachute.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC network spam on: November 22, 2017, 12:49:40 PM
OK so I think I'm buying that this crazy slowdown in transaction times and increase in fees is a temporary spam attack, along with a (temporary?) loss of miners.  But what I didn't realize is just how fragile this network really is.  If someone wanted to screw it up forever and bring BTC down to zero, couldn't they just spam it forever?  I don't think people could live with this for very long.  What say you?
I'm a newbie but I managed to get out for $1500 of the drop and bought some again last night...so at least I did that right!  But now I still have it on the exchange because I don't want to wait multiple days for transfer.  Don't like that too much  Cry
Not really, the community is working on getting rid of the spammers. There is a huge amount of community which doesn’t want BTC to float in the air and can get the environment a peace of ease. But if you keep your patience I believe this too shall pass and it’ll be just like the old days as smooth it used to be. And those who are flying away with the money of people they must be putted behind the bars via cyber security.

We have some problem with cyber sequrity

Many have lost money by being hacked. Many have also told about it in this forum

Also many have lost money investing on some scam ICO
