61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - BECAUSE THE BLOCKCHAIN CAN BE BETTER on: December 12, 2017, 09:32:07 AM
Which service you mean? Can you give some example capabilities of your platform?

Quote
The goal of XTRABYTES is to provide a platform on which a multitude of customized services can be deployed and utilized.

And what your nearest competitors?

With this revolutionary new blockchain Xtrabytes does not have real competitors

What revolutionary new here? Can you explaine me? Or you just hope for pump this coin?

If you want to know more about XBY's technology you should read the whitepaper: https://xtrabytes.global/whitepaper.pdf
And the FAQs in their forum: https://community.xtrabytes.global/faq/

The main innovation is the new consensus algorithm to verify blocks in the blockchain, the Proof of Signature (https://community.xtrabytes.global/faq/what-is-posign.68/)

50 XBY transaction fee per transaction  Roll Eyes
is it really?
For the time being, yes. They will be reduced and possibly become dynamic once the finished platform is up and running.
ok bro! how do i can to join slack chat?

You should contact one of the team members to get an invitation, i.e. Bikerleszno (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=181702)

I read the Roadmap. But there is no timeline for all the events on it. Anyone know when the Level 1 Static Nodes come out?

There were some controversies in the past regarding dates so the team don't want to give any now, rushing things for no reason. Let's not forget that all of the people involved have jobs, so XBY is not their only focus. Despite that, we've come a long way and, after the current test, if everything goes smoothly, the registration of the Statics will begin.

I've been out of the loop for awhile but still have my 500ish thousand coins, enough for one of the original static nodes. Better get myself up to speed. This one and PascalCoin are undervalued.   Back in June we were still talking about the static nodes coming online. Are we there yet? What about the second offering of nodes that was being talked about?

If the level one static nodes haven't come out 6 months later... well let's just say yawn... more empty promises from another coin where the people in charge are just dumping and investing in other altcoins?

A lot have happened during these 6 months, I suggest you read the pages of the ANN before coming here talking about "empty promises". The team is working a lot trying to finish the tech and create a working platform. We must consider that Proof of Signature is totally new so it needs a lot of work and testing if they want to be sure it actually works. If something goes wrong after the migration to the Zoltchain it would undermine a lot of the credibility and trust that have been build in the last months.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] KICKICO - PLATFORM FOR FUNDRAISING ON CRYPTOCURRENCY on: December 11, 2017, 10:53:30 AM
Do any friends know the ICO price of KICKICO? Is it broken? Like many people buy

Kick token price  was 0.000333 ETH in initial coin offering.

I think the price will rise after it is listed on popular exchanges. Now kick tokens are really undervalued.

The way it's going, i doubt that will ever happen. It would take bittrex or binance and I don't see any progress from Kick team.

They raised a big money on ICO. I cant understand, why they still didnt pay exhanges for listing  Huh
At last, hit to Binance not so hard, and  a lot of tokens there listed without any problem.

They got listed at HitBTC though and still there's close to zero volume. And, as far as I know, you have to pay 250k$ for them to list you.
As for Bittrex, I've heard they don't add new coins at the moment, but that would be a really good exchange or Polo.
You're right, on HitBTC the volume is low but to be fair the overall volume is ok for the current marketcap. I'd say they should consider Binance, even if they didn't make it at the community vote

What is the date of ICO?
Of what ICO are you referring to? PIVX wasn't created with an ICO. Read the first page of the ANN if you want more info about it.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW XBY ANN] XTRABYTES - BECAUSE THE BLOCKCHAIN CAN BE BETTER on: December 11, 2017, 10:41:48 AM
At the very first ANN, CCR had stated that founders don't own more than 10% coins of the total supply.I had heard at slack from CCR that Borz owns only3-4 million coins and even if they own more coins than they stated I should not worry because they have bought all their XBY with their own btc.

Thanks that's the info I was looking for.  That's not bad at all.  Even if they both owned 10% total together.
10% percent of the totam supply is a really big stake dude, but since XBY is legit project i'm confident that the founders won't dump and run ever if they have that much.
however i dount that they have that much of XBY.

I think that if running with the money was their objective they would have done it already. CCR and Borzalom have shown to the community how passionate and dedicated to the project they are and this is very reassuring to me and, I believe, to the whole XBY community.

What the hell just happened to NEM value?? 150% up?!?!?!!?

Is this caused by the overload in Ethereum?? Are people moving to NEM?
Was some news released? Any milestone reached?

Sorry, but I'm a bit absent from NEM topics. Just a long term holder that got really surprised.

Huge partnership landed:

Great news! I am sure that if Borzalom's ideas Will be fully implemented we are going to be huge. Its just a matter of time, being patient is key.

Today is the day!!! Can't wait to hear about the updates / announcements!!!!
Borzalom 777? Will there be a video streaming or the questions/answers will just be posted here?

We will be simplifying the format tonight... First one was very stressful being live, second took far too long and tonight we are preparing all the questions and answers and we will post them all at the same time. Much easier this way.
OK thanks for the answer, seems reasonable. I just hope we can hear Borzalom again sooner or later Smiley

Did I miss any important announcement? New exchange listing etc? Why the sudden increase in price? Simple pump & dump?
Looks like a pump and dump unfortunately...

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PIVX] - PRIVATE INSTANT VERIFIED TRANSACTION - POS 2.0 - ZEROCOIN PROTOCOL on: December 07, 2017, 07:30:57 AM
Im eyeing on PIVX since some time now, but havent decided yet if I want to invest or not. Can someone tell me what makes PIVX a good investment? I know that it is a privacy coin, but what distinguishes it from other anonymous coins? Hope someone can give me a quick explanation of the benefits.

I will quote EleanorZ's post from a few days ago, that points out very well all of Pivx's unique features:

Different tech. The following highlights a few of PIVX's unique features as compared to other privacy coins; it's not meant to say 'DASH sucks' or whatever; just highlight differences. I also don't claim this to be an exhaustive or authoritative list; others may have more to add.

- Anonymization: XMR (and XSPEC) use(s) ring signatures. PIVX, like DASH, uses CoinJoin. As of about a month ago, PIVX uses Zerocoin protocol in addition to the privacy features it shares with DASH. The Zerocoin implementation will continue to evolve; for example, deterministic zPiv generation will be rolled out soon.
- Block time: PIVX is among the fastest. 60s for PIVX, vs. also 60s for XSPEC, vs. 120s for XMR, vs. 150s+ for DASH. Both DASH and PIVX also use InstantSend.
- Algorithm: XMR = PoW (CryptoNight); DASH = masternodes + PoW (x11); XSPEC = full-time PoS only; PIVX = full-time PoS + masternodes. (*see note below re: PoS)
- Governance: DASH and PIVX both have masternode voting, whereas XMR and XSPEC do not. Uniquely, PIVX incorporates a 'see-saw' mechanism to balance the value of staking vs. running a masternode: The more MNs are in operation, the lower the reward and the greater the benefits of staking, and vice versa. New voting/governance proposals are currently under evaluation, with the goal of further democratization (i.e., voting shouldn't be exclusively in the hands of masternode holders).
- Supply: Currently, just under 8 million DASH, ~15.5 million XMR, ~21 million XSPEC, and 55 million PIVX. All are theoretically inflationary, but various factors will keep their supplies from increasing to infinity. For example, transaction fees on the PIVX network are burned, meaning that PIVX actually has the potential to become deflationary.
- Other features of PIVX: In-wallet multi-signature escrow; Android and (soon) iOS wallets; plans for a decentralized exchange (zDEX); support of 30 (and counting) languages; active community (not so much on BCT but on Slack/forum); reliable devs; no past controversies ala DASH's 'instamine'.

Basically, XMR goes for privacy at the expense of convenience as a currency (ring sigs are computationally intense). DASH, like Bitcoin, was the first of its kind and has brand recognition and market share despite not necessarily being the most advanced technology, and again at the expense of some convenience as a currency (slow block times). PIVX strives to build on DASH, improve on it, and incorporate stronger anonymity features (Zerocoin protocol), while ALSO maintaining convenience as an actual currency (fast block times, low tx fees, etc.). XSPEC is earlier in its development cycle, but is more or less trying to be to Monero what PIVX is to DASH.

TL;DR: PIVX is faster than DASH or XMR and, with the implementation of Zerocoin protocol, is as/more secure. It has a unique solution to community governance, and strong plans for continued development and real-world adoption.

Someone else will have to address your PoS version # question.

Thanks a lot mate, this helped me out here. Great to have this direct comparison with the other privacy coins. I guess it wont hurt to invest some money into PivX, the potential seems pretty good. What I really like is the idea of burning fees and therefore the capability of PivX to become deflationary as more the the currency is used. Thats kinda genius!
All the credit to Eleanor Smiley Thank you for investing and believing in PIVX

There is also a nice infographic on Twitter that compares PIVX to Monero and Zcoin

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: December 06, 2017, 02:09:36 PM
So with this recent bull market nem has not really done much of anything, good or bad. It gains and loses a few cents here and there, but otherwise stays pretty stable. Meanwhile almost 200 BILLION has flowed into the crypto scene and it seems like every other coin has ridden the wave up EXCEPT nem. From #5 to the very real possibility of being #16 in the next day or two is a pretty big fall. It sucks that we weren't able to capitalize on this huge swing upward. When the inevitable downward turn for the overall market comes we're gonna be in even worse position than we were before.

I recently watched Alex's interview (from inside NEM) and she really puts things into perspective: the NEM team is not trying to overhype the project, nor is too focused on the price. They're actually working, and a lot, to innovate and be ready for business adoption. Catapult is ready and it will be launched soon so I think we just have to be patient, NEM will have the exposure it deserves.

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: December 06, 2017, 01:59:22 PM
This is the problem when "enthusiasts" buy a cryptocurrency expeting it to give them 200% return in one week: they sell as soon as they FOMO on another crypto. The whole point for NEO is to create a solid base of investors who believe in the project, and that's what they're trying to do. I personally don't care if the price drops because I know that the NEO team is solid and they're trying to create a whole environment for the technology, that is compliant with current regulations.

Any chances getting on Bittrex soon?
As previously stated, expansion to bigger exchanges will be considered after the test phase and the registration of the static nodes will be completed. They haven't given any dates yet but I think we're pretty close.
79  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela to launch 'Petro' cryptocurrency on: December 05, 2017, 07:59:27 AM
Centralized cryptos are bound to fail, let alone a Venezuelan one... In my opinion Maduro & co. don't know the first thing about cryptocurrencies and their economy. They see it as an opportunity to grab some cash, since Bitcoin is very popular in the country after the big failure of the Bolivar, and thanks to the cheap energy. After attempting a crackdown on Bitcoin miners, the government want to join the crypto party but in my opinion they are just going to create more mess.
