61  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp exchange of currencies: stealing money of the deposit by employees on: January 09, 2018, 07:01:02 AM
So Bitstamp can really close accounts & not bother explaining why?

What when you still have crypto in it, they sell behind your back & refund fiat?

God, if we can't even trust an european exchange now... where else to go?
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Questions About Bitstamp on: January 08, 2018, 04:10:02 PM
doesn't GDAX have pretty much free limit orders? On Bitstamp it's 0.25%, the highest of all exchanges.

I'm not even too complaining about those high fees, I was assuming that it'd make Bitstamp more reliable and would give me better support. And that wasn't the case AT ALL Sad
63  Economy / Exchanges / List of Bitstamp's unresolved problems on: January 08, 2018, 09:56:37 AM
Couldn't find any thread listing them, and on Reddit they don't stay for very long, so I'm creating one.
Just post your case, your ticket # perhaps, for how long it has been going.

Mine:
XRP's being stuck in their "wrong" address (which frankly, judging by the amount of people who fell into their trap, might not even be my fault. I have no recollection of having picked the alternate XRP address, so it may even be an internal problem), for 17 days now.
I had started to sell the rest of my XRP's at 2eur & planned to sell up to their ATH. If it doesn't reach its ATH again, they'd better refund the difference.
Ticket 306719
I don't know what's their ticket lag exactly, but if #306000 was 17 days ago, and they apparently (Reddit feedback) haven't processed #260000 YET...

I know there are many cases of locked fiat or XRP deposits/withdrawals,  unverified accounts for months...

And I'll say it again, it doesn't matter if it's not malicious & they're simply overwhelmed - they have fucked up.
They should have paid a random guy to sort their tickets by importance, like
1. about over 10000 in value
2. over 1000
3. over 100
4. all the rest. Little generic support, little sums, etc. That's probably the majority of the tickets.
That'd have taken 2 days, assuming they really have a 10 thousands of tickets lag. And then they could have focused on the most important tickets first.
I seriously doubt that several thousands of people have over problems over 10k amounts, within a month.

Mine would be in 2. - it's not even the most important, but it's certainly more important than the guys who lost their 20 XRP's.
Plus, I've been paying Bitstamp litterally 1000 to 2000eur/month in fees (BS has the highest fees of all platforms, last month I was at 0.14% fees, that's higher than everywhere else on limit orders, and I had to trade over $600k to reach that. Most of my little trades there have paid Bitstamp more than they paid myself), that should allow me at least 1 fuckin answer per month.

Also please post if you have already filed a complaint & where.
Reddit users have suggested
https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-a-fraud-including-online-crime  (online report tool, what I have used)
https://e-justice.europa.eu/home.do
https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/main/index.cfm?event=main.home2.show

In any case it's alarming. I really hope it's just bad management - they should have locked new user registration like some other exchanges have.
But it could really be a case of BS being the next Mt Gox, and we'll probably be the last ones to know.

And if you're a Bistamp representative, well, just INFORM US. But of course you won't...
The last public message from Bistamp is that "under high demand" from Dec 20th. That is ALL they have written. NO ONE knows about this & new users are still considering registering. They pretty much act like Kraken, "everything is fine". Well, Kraken can hardly hide that it's broken, but Bitstamp's app still works well.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Questions About Bitstamp on: January 08, 2018, 09:32:10 AM
just take a look at Bitstamp's Reddit first.
Avoid like the plague.

They have been holding my XRP's for nearly 3 weeks now. Same thing for a lot of people, many deposits or withdraws have been frozen.

You won't be able to register & verify, anyway.

In the very best case, they have been overloaded by the amount of new users (that they couldn't predict? Hard to believe). In the worst case.. Mt.Gox part deux...
65  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is BITSTAMP a scam? on: January 04, 2018, 07:56:18 PM
I withdrew 2 ETH worth euros from the Bitstamp and it was on my bank account in two days. So I will definitely use Bitstamp for withdrawals in the future.

Take a look at Bitstamp's Reddit and maybe you'll see things differently.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitstamp Verification Time on: January 04, 2018, 07:49:59 PM
Bitstamp just doesn't know how to prioritize their support.

They apparently have tens of thousands of tickets to process, I'm sure most are about little problems or little amounts.
Meanwhile they just made me miss, for the second time, selling my XRP's at their ATH. Because they're holding mine hostage for like 2 weeks now.
Some apparently have big amounts that they can't deposit or withdraw..

I've litterally paid that exchange 1000 to 2000 per month, in fees. And it's already taking 2 weeks for support after I fell in one of their trap Sad
I'm watching XRP slowly go down, wanting to tell it "hey wait a little, I wanna sell mine. Don't go, don't go! Those assholes at Bitstamp are keeping your little brothers hostage, when they will free them, they will join you back. Don't goooooooo!"

I just don't know where to go now.
-I started with Kraken, but it's the most horrible exchange out there (I mean, I doubt there is worse)
-Bitfinex & Bittrex are asian, have leverage & tethers, 3 good reasons to avoid keeping large amounts on them
-most others are asian
-I can't register GDAX because no passport & no driving license

I won't miss Bitstamp that much for trading because well.. only 5 coins there, and very high fees. But I thought that was the last safe place where to keep fiat.

67  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitstamp just went to shit - dan morehead and slovak poor management on: January 03, 2018, 05:32:55 PM
They are working on integrating Margin trading into their platform. Therefore
they will soon offer leverage for trading (according to Twitter certain users are already able to test
the alpha version of the margin trading feature).

I donīt think you have to worry about their fiat reserves. They are as far as I
know the only exchange that is audited every year by one of the Big4 accounting
firms.

Yeah I've read about that, I hope it's not gonna be added too soon.

As for their yearly audit, well, a whole year is a lot in this crypto world, more than it takes for a "little" exchange to vanish.
68  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitstamp just went to shit - dan morehead and slovak poor management on: January 03, 2018, 01:10:50 PM
Assuming they have too much support than they can cope with, I wish they would prioritize answers according to volume.

While I'm certainly nowhere near the top, I'm still paying them 1000 to 2000eur/month in fees.. and yet I have one support ticket, my first one, sitting there for nearly 2 weeks now.
And it's about XRPs locked in their "trap" fake XRP address, the one you easily pick by mistake when you're in a hurry. It shouldn't even be there to start with.

I'm trusting Bitstamp because
-it's not asian
-it's more or less regulated
-it has no leverage
-it has the highest fees out there
..thus I assume that my fiat in there is fully backed by real fiat. I can't imagine Bitstamp going bankrupt, other than by running away with our money or being hacked. Let's hope it's not the case.. because if Bitstamp goes down, I don't know which other exchange I'd trust.

Even Kraken, the most broken of all exchanges, still gives proper support.
69  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is BITSTAMP a scam? on: December 31, 2017, 08:26:21 AM
Bitstamp is probably the less scammy of them all. I mean, it's in Luxembourg, and more or less regulated (by their own demand), and normally backed by real money. That's why I chose to keep most of my fiat on it, instead of on your typical chinese exchange/tether combo that could vanish tomorrow with all your money.
Also, Bitstamp has no leverage & margin trading, I feel safer that way. Sadly, they have it under construction, apparently.

But they suck for support, yes. 8 days and still no reply for a support ticket of mine. With fees way above normal average, I'd expect better support.

I also got 1 BTC that took 2 weeks to get there, but it's not their fault, there is/was so many unconfirmed transactions. Given that their withdrawal is free (how? I don't know), you can't blame them for paying fees of hundred's to get them faster.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DigixDAO] Crowdsale campaign start on: December 31, 2017, 06:07:06 AM
I know there is a difference between a token's value, and what's behind it, but.. I'm wondering who would wanna hold a supposedly backed-by-gold token, when the current price is around 4x the value of what it's backed by.

Sure, why not, afterall even the BTC isn't backed by anything, it's just value. But there is no point of "being backed by gold" as a concept, when only a fourth of your token is actually backed by gold. Might as well not be backed by anything, IMHO.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: December 30, 2017, 06:53:15 AM
Just WOW, WTF is happening with IGNIS's price? Is it still a "future", on HitBTC?

It litterally peaked above $20. Congrats to all those who held. I had chickened out & only kept 100 NXT's.
72  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange with USD EUR GBP JPY CAD BTC LTC XRP NMC XDG STR ETH on: December 30, 2017, 06:38:33 AM
I was gonna do some arbitrage on Kraken since the BTC is quite expensive there ATM. My god, it's STILL as broken as when I left. How come it still has users? Who's ok with such a high lvl of crap?
Wait no, it's not still as broken. It's not just loging/logout/pretty much anything errors that I get, the tradeview app simply freezes in my FireFox now. Just wow, how is this thing still alive?
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 11:47:44 AM
3000 with a rebound to 5000, so there was a little rebound afterall. I'm not even selling the little I bought back, I enjoy the show.

I'm really interested to see how well people's stop orders worked. Pretty sure they would have had a better deal manually.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 11:30:02 AM
bittrex close nxt market

I see a big spike - looks like someone dumped a few sec too early Smiley
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 09:12:14 AM
according to here

https://www.nxter.org/

2 hours 30 minutes left

where exactly?

I just bought a little back (at even cheaper than I sold) using my profit, for the fun of it. Those who sold at its highest made a pretty good deal, I'd say.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 08:56:46 AM
snapshot is already created?
can i sold my nxt now?

Not Yet !

NXT Block is 1636186

But how do you know the current block? (other than from NXT's blockchain monitor, that is)
Edit: ah I see, the tx monitor sometimes works. Too bad for me.

snapshot is already created?
can i sold my nxt now?

when you'll see a giant red bar in your exchange, you will know.

Here I'm still enjoying the show. I don't think anyone really knows, since the portal is broken under the load. Maybe it even has happened already.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 08:42:53 AM
And I'm afraid I'm out of the game, I wanted to sell half of what I bought, sold it all by mistake. Well, still with a profit...
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 07:37:56 AM
i bought in at 7500. now it is 8500 i dont see it crashing to 7300 until the snapshot. so i created a stop loss order at 7300. lets see if it will be able to sell at 7300 at the crash.
that would mean i will have 1k ignis tokens and going to lose around 3% of my inital investment in nxt if my stop loss is succesful

Really?
First, it was way below 0.000073 only a few hours ago - but ok, at this moment that doesn't seem that risky anymore.

But 0.000073 is where you placed your stop trigger, now which price did you set to sell? That's quite important, because it is NOT gonna be 0.000073. Zero chance that it will. It may be as low as 0.00003 or something. And if you set your sell price to the same as your trigger, then it simply won't be executed at all - guaranteed.

I wouldn't know where to put sell price. Generally there is a rebound, but from what I read here, NXT would be useless after IGNIS. Well if that's true, then no rebound. But would you really sell at 0.00003? Or even 0.00001 (that's pretty realistic, it was there just 1 month ago)? That's not much, you may as well hold.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: December 28, 2017, 07:34:19 AM
I think the dumpis inevitable after the snapshot, the price went up because of the free ignis tokensand there is no incentive to hold NXT tokens over Ardor after the snapshot, great advice IMO

It is of course unevitable. The question is whether it will protect you or not.

At least Bittrex's stop loss is a stop-limit, that's already much better. But where do YOU draw your limit?

Consider that most have bought between 0.00005 and 0.00014. You can imagine that many have placed their stop.. between 0.00005 and 0.000014. And you can already imagine that the downtrend has been from these stops triggered & cascading.
Really, I'd be curious to know if anyone here has already sold from his stop order, had to re-buy (or didn't).

I know that even at this time if I place a stop, it may be triggered before the drop, by a cascade of other people's stop.
