This behavior is very unprofessional and if this user was sent here in any official capacity, that's more than worrying.
Barring complete access to a building is not how usually the police operates in cases of robbery. Because if you claim to have been robbed, the first question they put to you is: give us a list of what's missing. Naturally, you have to go and look in order to submit the list. To come a month later and claim you still don't know what's missing because you had no access is at least strange and contradicts the fact that police are wrapping up their field investigation. Unless the list with the things missing is not concerned with actual crypto, but private keys are missing, as that NY investigator assumes.
Either way, an official statement is more than welcome and long overdue. That's the way responsible businessmen operate: take responsibility. Be sure to pass that along if you have a channel with the owners.

I'll point a slight difference in wording that changes the meaning. The police said in their latest update: Cryptopia management have full access to their facilities and business premises and the Police investigation is not preventing their business from getting up and running again. It means they had access, but it was limited. But they said in their twitter update: Update: The police have now given us access back to our building, while they continue their investigations. Just by omitting the word "full" they changed the meaning, implying they were barred from entering the building. I think the police statement is the more trustworthy.
That's right, we don't know, because the owners or the managers have been hiding for a month. They are most welcome to share updates and inform us of what's happening with their customer's money. How about a statement, a press conference, a live youtube session explaining things and outlining plans for their customer's money?
Seems rather bullshit. I don't think the police forbids access to a building unless it's a human crime scene and the purpose is not to contaminate evidence. And evidence is lifted in a matter of days, not in a month. I don't see why the police would forbid someone from entering a building, especially given the situation: the police knows basically nothing about crypto and the people not allowed in are the ones that do and could explain and assist. They are acting as if a thief physically entered the premises and stole the crypto in bags and boxes. Also this "we are not allowed to talk" is bullshit. They are not allowed to talk about specifics in the investigation, but nothing is preventing them to simply talk. There are two dimensions to this: the alleged theft and the public relations with customers. They can and should talk to customers, explain the situation as best as they can without revealing clues and so on. They could have made a press statement or a press conference and explain and reasurre customers. Instead this hiding looks like a move to cover their asses. Not to mention that stating a month after the fact that you are assessing the dimension of the theft seems like incompetence. What were you doing the last month?

If you have downloaded the windows wallet AT ALL - YOU ARE INFECTED Please explain how you get infected by simply downloading the file and not running the executable. So you have taken the wallet.dat from the old wallet and now added it to the new wallet? If so then that old wallet.dat could be still be infected from what I understand. You need to send the coins to a fresh new wallet or like Carsen said to Coinomi and then once you have a fresh new wallet send the coins to it.
Only one thing.... is the file wallet.dat infected to the virus?? if is infected when i transfer the old wallet.dat in my new pc the problem is the same...... i need info about this.... The old wallet.dat file is infected or no? we need info about denarius dev...... That's bolloks. Wallet.dat is a database file, not an executable. It would take a very crafty and smart trojan to spread via wallet.dat. The reason you are advised to generate a new wallet.dat and move your coins there is because if infected, one would assume your private keys from the old wallet.dat are compromised and your coins might be stollen.
Virustotal says the windows qt is not infected with the backdoor and the executable file date is in 2017, before the trojan.
I also find doubtful the claims on that thread that you can get infected simply by downloading the file or that the trojan can propagate by wallet.dat.

The blockchain is stuck. The diff is stuck way high, probably someone rented a lot of hashing power and now no new blocks are being found by normal miners. Miners are needed or a short rental of some hashing power, but not very high power, to bring the diff down to normal levels.

Todays message from Cryptopia Discord server: Update from Managing Director of Cryptopia Exchange. The co-founders, shareholders, executive and the entire Cryptopia Team appreciate the support that is being demonstrated here. We cannot even consider re-opening the exchange while the investigation is in progress. To even consider doing so would be totally irresponsible of us as it could likely make the way clear for further attacks and even more damage. Please have patience and faith. We will continue to update everyone as and when we can. Take no notice of the armchair experts.
Actually a very responsible thing would be to allow read-only access, so that customers may take snapshots of their accounts.

Apparently some of the missing crypto made it's way to Binance and they were able to freeze part of it, according to CZ's tweet. When asked what will they do with the frozen assets, CZ's answer was interesting:
If the law enforcement is involved, this will not have a speedy resolution. They'll "arrest the hard drive" and things will drag, maybe there'll be people prosecuted, a trial and so on. I'm confused about the timeline. This A person posting on their twitter, presumably the owner himself, kept reassuring users (by directly replying to their tweets) they are hard at work and it won't be long now, when they seem to have known at that time there was a security incident. Involving the police seems, to me, as a move on their part to limit personal liability. This lack of information as well: when lawyers advise you to STFU, usually means it's in your personal interest. Scene examination... hm... they're going to dust the USB cable for prints or what? Check for a shoeprint of the hacker eloping with the crypto in the duffel bag? Recovering funds is just one of the priorities. Not the biggest, apparently. Which are the other priorities? They could allow read only access to customers, in order to take snapshots of the accounts. That would be the honest thing to do.

From Ubuntu 18.04 cd src / make -f makefile-unix I get an error when I build. May I know how? It's related to the libssl-dev package. It's a common problem among several crypto daemons. ATM we recommend Ubuntu 16.04 as the build environment - it has all the required dependencies.

First thing first: I'm in no way affiliated with Royalties Foundation, I'm not a dev for this coin and I haven't done any work for them. I'm just a user like you that knows how to use wallets. When I said this: If your instalation is new, you don't have a previous wallet file and the GUI client is stuck on Synchronizing 1/1 you need to create a wallet first: File -> Create wallet. Then the sync will start.
Create your wallet in a folder where you don't require elevated privileges. Obvious places are your user folder (C:\Users\ Yourusername\) or even your Documents folder. Program Files is not such a place! I thought this was obvious, but there are users contacting me by PM and asking why it's not working. I repeat: create a new wallet in a folder where you have FULL CONTROL. And it'll start syncing like magic. Why? Well, because the program needs to write to the wallet file.
