61  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Bitcoin Crashed on: December 04, 2017, 04:20:13 PM
If Bitcoin crashed and burned would it most likely be the end of all Crypto currency ?

If bitcoin really do burn out, I think that will not stop the crypto from proceeding. There are a lot of crypto as of today, the 2nd to bitcoin is an example, ETH has so many investors that I think they will continue to support even without bitcoin. Most of the people who support ETH is really focusing on how to obtain them. so I think if bitcoin will fall, ETh will rise.

Bitcoin = e-mail
Ethereum = internet

The internet can survive without e-mail

Edit:  In my opinion the above analogy should look more like this

Bitcoin = e-mail
Blockchain = internet
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins to watch that are coming up on: December 03, 2017, 12:27:44 AM
I have heard really good things about mobius but don't have the capital to reach their minimum requirement for pre-sale.  Looking at their site it seems like a pretty cool project with potential
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitShares 2.0 on: December 01, 2017, 10:50:39 PM
would you consider BitShares a long term HODL? If so, what is long term? 3-5 years?

or will it get eaten up by a newer, sleeker, DEX in the coming years...
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining on: December 01, 2017, 10:33:11 PM
can you add value even as a complete n00b? i mean new to crypto, not just STEEM

just finding it hard to believe anyone would care what I have to say given the small knowledge base.  must be incredibly difficult to built up a base from scratch
65  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fork what is it? how gain $$ with it? on: December 01, 2017, 09:43:08 PM
so if you owned a bitcoin before the fork to bitcoin cash, you get both, correct?

so does that mean in effect the value of a "bitcoin" is 12500?  11k for bitcoin and 1500 for bitcoin cash?
66  Other / Beginners & Help / Some motivation for fellow n00bs on: December 01, 2017, 09:02:04 PM
If you're anything like me, you have struggled to try to get up to speed on crypto and blockchain.  The name of the game for me is to keep grinding away and try to learn something new every day...eventually it starts to make sense.

I wanted to share my all-time favorite inspirational quote popularized by former US President Calvin Coolidge

PRESS ON
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence
Talent will not;
nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent
Genius will not;
unrewarded genius is almost a proverb
Education will not;
the world is full of educated derelicts
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

The only part of the above I slightly disagree with is the education part - we obviously need to educate ourselves on this stuff. But the point is to stick with it and keep pushing through.

What are your favorite motivational quotes?
