[06:33 PM]   Bitdude : your talking shipping to a "real" customer and not some "golden boy" type right?
[06:33 PM]   LibreCoin : "see there, we shipped!"
[06:33 PM]   BFL_Jonathon : Bitdude, there is no such distinction.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Namecoin actually being used for anything significant? on: September 27, 2013, 04:02:43 PM
As my Namecoin purse gets larger Im wondering, is Namecoin actually being used for anything significant? I know I can trade them for BTC but that seems lame. It just seems that nothing has really been done up to this point to further the project. Is anyone doing something worth looking into with Namecoin or should I just keep letting this stash get larger till some major developments are made?  Huh
It's being used for DNS, thats about all I know (I sell it for BTC as well)

LTC RIP  due to Atlantis shutdown?

Nah, it wasn't Atlantis that drove LTC price above BTC0,01, though it played a part. General speculation, particularly over Mt Gox trading LTC with its new engine, probably drove it a lot more. I don't think that's the end of Litecoin, any more than SR closing would signal the end of Bitcoin.

But what is the LTC good for now?
buying BTC

Supreme Leader, thoughts on BFL? As we've seen, Hitler is very annoyed with them.

As you are aware, Just-Dice is under DDoS attack.  The attack is constantly ongoing.

Nice try Doog, but why it's always lagging more often when bigger bets lost?

Quite simply, it isn't.  You're imagining it.  Or if it is, it's a coincidence.  Random chance.
Psychologists call it an "observation bias"

as a SR user, I'm happy that it was this and not a sting.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Create vanity bitcoin addresses four times as fast on: September 27, 2013, 02:28:24 AM
The new payments API is going to make addresses of all sorts obsolete.
Can you please clarify?

70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Last block took 23 minutes to get mined on: September 27, 2013, 12:13:59 AM
it's like every 2016 blocks isnt it?
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Last block took 23 minutes to get mined on: September 27, 2013, 12:11:31 AM
So if someone sent a payment 20 minutes ago, they still would not have seen any confirmations.

I think confirmation time is one of the major drawbacks of Bitcoin going mainstream and local because lets say someone went to a bar, and ordered their drinks and its time to pay. They pay, and would have to sit at the bar for 23 minutes until they even got one confirmation?

And as I am typing this, I sent a payment at xx:53 and its now xx:18 and only have gotten one confirmation because just a second ago the block was mined. 23 minutes for and 0 confirmations is pretty slow

What are your opinions?

Weird, I literally just sent a donation to the dev for coinbase trader app 20 mins ago (from now, which is 8:10pm EST)  and got my first confirm ~7 mins ago?

72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Surprised the Second Market BTC Fund didn't have an effect on Exchange Rate on: September 26, 2013, 06:41:40 PM
why would you invest in a 3rd party when you can buy and hold bitcoin yourself for free?
These investors are "legitimate" and presumably secondmarket provides the tools they need to invest in BTC without many of the liabilities that others may face.

But they can't buy things with BTC to avoid capital gains tax, like we can, since it doesnt look like anybody has actual BTC =P
73  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Surprised the Second Market BTC Fund didn't have an effect on Exchange Rate on: September 26, 2013, 06:40:57 PM
they cant even start trading that fund till 2014. Any impact on the BTC purchased by the fund has already been factored into current exchange rates.

75  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking a team to develop Bitcointalk 2.0 forums (apply within) on: September 26, 2013, 06:16:21 PM
I've been lurking around the bitcoin scene for some time already and feel you completely that we need something better than this forum. I decided to build a Discourse installation with some servers and try to make it the home for more serious bitcoin talk. Developer help is more than welcome and I suggest you come to http://dbtng.com, register and make yourself heard at the General forum.

I think that Discourse is and WILL be the best possible option for the second generation bitcointalk. It is currently still under heavy development but is stable and secure already. We will need more features and bitcoin-features for Dbtng for sure. We will set up a Github for plugin development as soon as we have the time. If you feel like participating, register on Dbtng.

Citing your competitor in your logo is not exactly the best way to promote your service

Its distasteful as well.

ok yes im already at ebay, dont worry

Oh good! I was worried.   Embarrassed
Just a bunch of declined offers on his listing. If I were him I'd accept one...ebay has been known to terminate bitcoin hardware as it is a violation of both ebay and paypal's terms of service. This is well known simply by googling "ebay bitcoin" lol

U.S. Mail. Old school technology with old school legal protection.  Cool
Govt tracks and maintains records of every parcel, its origin and destination.

I heard through the grapevine that the DDoS signature was different than those that betcoin.tm has been serving out to other BTC sites.
While BCT was down, I fired up my cannons at betcoin.tm anyways. In my mind, it was them.
