61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 4th Generation Blockchain? How this works? on: March 12, 2018, 01:07:59 AM
I mean, it does make sense to differentiate in this fashion:

1st gen: blockchain currencies
2nd gen: blockchain w/ applications
3rd gen: ability to communicate/interact between blockchains
4th gen: from my understanding, attempts to be an ecosystem of various chains/sidechains.

that said, what others have pointed out here is totally valid. i agree it is getting ridiculous that all these projects are labeling themselves as such, especially w/ 4th gen. everyone is so desperate to find the next ethereum you have people going nuts with these projects like the one posted here or Polkadot which are years away from materializing in any way in a landscape that changes daily. as for your question if there are others: yes, there are many so called 4th gen blockchain projects... as mentioned Polkadot, cosmos, seele are a few considered as such

To get 1000 real member is already a super goal. Removing all the fake accounts, I don't think there are really more

I think to reach 1000 real members after final filtration  it is not easy task.I see in the current  over 65% of accounts are either newbies or flagged.

Unfortunately, the discussion on bitcointalk is pretty terrible, so high post counts are meaningless in my opinion. Pretty much the only need to comment on something is when you are forced to in order to participate in an airdrop or bounty. That's just the reality of it. Every "discussion" thread here rarely has insightful or meaningful comments. As such, it does not surprise me that many accounts will be newbies. There is very little incentive to post here. All that said, undoubtedly some of those who registered are absolutely trying to cheat the system with multiple accounts. But it sounds as if there will be vetting to ensure no one games the system which sounds good to me... though how exactly that will be achieved remains to be seen.

The first surprise will be received by the holders of tokens when the number of holders becomes more than 5000 and each will own at least 552 SPS
https://etherscan.io/token/0xd9a72fec8683db0666769d841d6d127f350b4418#balances

Now we have 920/5000
I hope we arrive the number of 5000 Token holder with this value.

I just have 266 sps i sent 10 sps but didn't receive nothing back

someone put good instructions in the thread. you need to follow those, and you need two wallet addresses

This was much cooler than I was expecting.

Right now I can only get my bot to respond to exact phrases. If there is even a minor omittance of a word or letter it will not respond.  Are there plans for the bots to be able to learn how to recognize like-questions? If so, this could be immensely useful.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: March 01, 2018, 04:53:11 PM
I downloaded nano windows wallet but it hasnt synced for hours . Any idea  how long might it take ?

Beware of that wallet, you could lose all the Nanos, if is not sync correctly!. I know people who have lost everything because of that crappy wallet. There is no official wallet yet for Nano, which is why it will not exceed $ 20, until someone serious, design a working and safety wallet. That is one of the weakest points of Nano. In addition, as it has no cost and few are behind its development, it has a very weak value. You have to understand that Bitcoin, for example, the great value it has is because there are millions of miners working day and night with a very valuable infrastructure, that is why it will always stay more or less up, but Nano being free, loses its investment value against other currencies. Beware of that  junkie/crappy (un-sync) wallet !  that is crap and it does not work!

That's not how supply and demand works, being mineable does not instill value into a coin.

As for the wallet, they have a working desktop wallet. The Nano desktop wallet is in beta, and no one recommends sending large numbers of coins to it yet. I don't know of anyone that lost large amounts of nano using the beta wallet, but in order to download it you have to apply so you are forced to know it is a beta product. I haven't even gotten an invite link to download it yet myself. So, anyone who lost money by sending all their Nano knowingly to a beta project is, simply put, not very bright.

I'm really surprised that we still have not filled up the 1000 participants needed for this coins distribution.
17 days in and just 292 people listed!
Anyway, no rush if it takes another month that will be fine, just very excited to get this project on to the next phase and get this thing going.

People have lost hope for airdrops.

That being said, we are still looking for devs aswell, the lack of technical info could drive some away. But, we are just heading into our 3rd week here, and moving along quite nicely.

I wouldn't say that people have lost hope in airdrops.  I think, moreso, most people participating in airdrops are looking for a quick buck. In a project like this, they won't be able to immediately dump their tokens to turn a profit. It's a shame because in my opinion it's projects such as this one that have the most potential. At least it means the token is attracting the right kind of members; those looking to grow and cultivate a community from early in the process.

I'm so disappointed to see that, if i'ts real that Ripple is going to Coinbase and not Nano Sad

Why are we taking this random youtuber for gospel? From his other videos, he doesn't even understand crypto very well. He literally states $600 Ripple in another video, he is just a huge (uninformed) shill. Really, really doubt Ripple on CB. It doesn't make much sense. While I don't believe it will be Nano either, it makes way more sense with their recent focus on becoming a payment platform.

Like the choice of airdrop to distribute for adoption. A bit curious as to how it works. Is it 4000 unique users each round of airdrops? Or once per round?

Project itself is very ambitious. Good luck.

edit: i have 1 merit! thanks for whoever did that
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Airdrop] Nevra (XEV) - Equality, Freedom, Trust on: February 25, 2018, 05:10:47 AM
I've had increasing interest in airdropped coins as of late, and not because it means "free stuff."

Rather, it proves two things:

1) The foresight to see that a lot of coins doing ICO's are going to be wiped out in the next couple of years when the space starts to see regulation.

2) An obvious commitment by the devs toward a project they believe in. The risk for a scam or bailing on a project for a quick buck is significantly lessened.

Finally, I do believe it fosters a better developed community.

I don't believe I am above newbie status or however it works and would likely require being merited, but would love the chance to participate in this project if given the chance. Either way, good luck on this one.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PRESALE LIVE 🔥🔥🔥 Loyakk: ICO with existing Blue Chip clients 🔥🔥🔥 on: February 22, 2018, 01:24:38 PM
I was interested in this project until today and the vast army of paid shills came in to generate false interest.

Multitude of new users with usernames of firstname_lastname_X who signed up today with all of their posts coming in this thread.

If this has nothing to do with your ICO you should put a stop to it fast.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NEW][EXCHANGE] Coinhouse.eu - Fast, Solid and Safe Altcoin exchange on: February 21, 2018, 11:48:42 PM
I wanted to comment on this exchange as it's been a while since anyone has. I have used this exchange now to trade ECA/BTC a few times. I even recently made a reasonably sized BTC withdrawal which is where it seems most customers were having trouble. While my BTC withdrawal was not instant, it did arrive within 24 hours. They did mention in their withdrawal email to be patient, and there are several mentions on their site of only having a small amount of coins on hand as most is locked away in cold storage - which we can all agree is a prudent measure. All in all, I believe this is completely reasonable time-frame for a small and relatively new exchange.

So, for any worrying about the safety of this exchange... it appears (at least at the time of this writing 2/21/18) that they have fixed many of the difficulties they had been facing earlier in this thread. Based on the absence of angry comments since January, I would imagine that is true for other users besides myself as well.

With all the recent mayhem surrounding quite a few exchanges it is good to see a newcomer making strides. I wish coinhouse.eu success growing their exchange and will continue to use them in the future. Would love to see some additional coins added. Coinhouse.eu, if you read this please consider adding some of the other low marketcap (but higher quality) coins that got stranded without a home with the downfall of CoinsMarkets such as COLX or ALQO. These are the coins that will grow your exchange. Thank you.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TWIST] TWIST : Revolutionising Blockchain Accessibility on: February 20, 2018, 08:46:36 PM
I bought Twist and withdrew it without problem from stocks.exchange. In the past I did have a withdrawal error with them with another cryptocurrency and it took them a while to correct the error (a couple weeks) but they did end up fixing it for me. Overall stocks.exchange is a reasonable exchange.

So my coins now show in my stakeunited account balance. Do I need to do anything else or do they start staking automatically? Any buttons I need to click? I at least can't find anything in the FAQ?

There is nothing else you need to do. Just watch your money grow  Wink

For anyone looking to sign up in stakeunited and get huge rewards of DVRS:

>>>>>https://stakeunited.com/CryptoKnight22<<<<<<
Watch even more the hyper inflation grow, and the price reduction as a result of it. Wait a few weeks until everybody is selling millions of coins. High POS coins never ended well unfortunately.

true, unless the demand outstrips it. which it may, if the rebound of bitcoin times up just right...
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DNotes 2.0 - Bridging the Gap Between the Centralized and Decentralized World on: February 15, 2018, 10:02:48 PM
Been lurking for a while on here. Really like the angle DNotes took in approaching funding and crypto in general.

Are there any plans to get marketing / more community involvement? At the moment the subreddit is totally dead and discord seems to be the primary avenue of communication these days (for good reason) where Dnotes has no presence at all. Any plans on stepping up on those fronts around the time of the launch of DNotes 2.0 next month?

Welcome doctorlw1, thank you for your interest in DNotes and suggestions. Appreciate the reminder on Reddit, I had a few updates to send over there.

We do have plans for an aggressive marketing plan scheduled for our fundraising efforts and the release of DNotes 2.0.

Discord - I've only looked into it briefly. It appears to be designed as a IRC / TeamSpeak / Conference type platform and seems to be a good place to send people to chat. The question is, is it worth spending resources there? How does it benefit DNotes? and, How much does it benefit DNotes?

It would be very low cost / minimally resource intensive for DNotes to maintain a Discord channel as most of the heavy lifting would be done by the community itself. Obviously one employee at minimum would need to update announcements, be around to answer occasional questions, tech support.. but that's no different than maintaining a presence on bitcointalk.

Yes, IRC/Teamspeak is a pretty accurate depiction. The biggest advantage is it allows the community to interact with each other very easily as well as provide an easily accessible centralized location for the most up-to-date information. Most discord channels are arranged as some variation of the following:

# announcements (official announcements and links)
# rules
# faqs
# general chat
# support (for wallet issues, etc)
# business / development
# trading (for people to talk about price and not clog up other channels with more in depth discussion)
# alternative languages
# anything. I've seen a number of creative uses with these channels.

A strong community is key to growth and while the DNotes bitcointalk presence is a good one, a discord channel is really key to organically growing a community. I've noticed that telegram is starting to take a back seat to Discord as people realize it's just a much better platform.

I think the uses will be readily apparent if you look at some successful discords, a couple great examples of active and well run discords are (among many others):

Nano
https://discordapp.com/invite/JphbBas

Electra - which has really taken a community coin to the next level with creative uses of Discord
https://discordapp.com/invite/B8F7Jdv

I don't think it's necessarily a priority now, but as DNotes 2.0 get's closer to launch next month and interest starts picking up I wouldn't be overlooking a very cheap, cost effective way of attaining organic community growth. Electra in particular has been good at taking advantage of the community by quickly organizing the members to go and vote to get listed on exchanges (they almost always win community vote now).
