61  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra Unveils a 2TH/s ASIC Bitcoin Miner : TerraMiner IV on: August 20, 2013, 02:15:00 AM

$15,750!?  To me, that says "Hi.  I'm Cointerra.  I'm only interested in talking to you if you have a TON of money laying around for an asic."

Anybody with any real interest in the bitcoin community would be willing to serve all customers, not just wealthy ones.

This is a very unfortunate mistake you are making.  It obviously only benefits very few with deep pockets, it is an absolute disgrace to the bitcoin community as a whole.  It has no value whatsoever to low-end consumers (miners) - the very people that brought bitcoin into existence.  What a horrible business model, nothing more than a quick exploit for big profits.

If you are interested, have a look at a company who serves the entire community:  AsicMiner (friedcat) has everything from low-end USB sticks to blades.  Something for everyone.  (You'll figure out after you fail that "something for everyone" was something you've overlooked while you were blinded by huge hash rates selling for tons of money)

Will it make you happy knowing that so many out there would love to own a product like this, but that you've completely priced most of them out?  You deserve to fail, miserably.

We actually have a full product line of various hashing rates and price points, in order to serve "something for everyone", that will be released later this month. We did an early unveiling of this highend product due to immense interest we have received.

I am sorry you wish that we fail, miserably. We are working extremely diligently to support this community and develop the most advanced ASIC yet.

The more time passes the bigger of a complete joke these guys become. They have "Tuur" the investor going on their and commenting like a dumbass, and not even commenting on the forums if he so wanted to clarify things, unless this was all made up.

The fact that they haven't said a single word about it still makes them look like complete idiots.

We did Smiley

1. Way to expensive
2. What Guarantee of Delivery do they have
3.Do they Accept Paypal and Credit Cards
4. What Refund Policy Protection do they have
5. Be Careful these are Pre- Orders.

We are currently working with both Paypal(Credit Cards) and Bitpay(Bitcoin). This early unveiling of our 2TH/s TerraMiner IV was due to the incredible amount of requests we have received on our site. We will be publishing our full delivery and refund policy when we have our full product line release later this month.

Thank you for your patience.
64  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra Unveils a 2TH/s ASIC Bitcoin Miner : TerraMiner IV on: August 20, 2013, 12:15:24 AM
Way... Way... WAYYYY over priced IMO.   Cry

By the time the KnC orders get fulfilled (Sept/Oct/Nov), difficulty is going through the roof, just look at the graphs to see for yourself.. even IF.. and big IF cointerra can deliver on time, IMO it's not worth it, the introduction of more and more TH make's diminishing returns and this is just overpriced right now.

It's currently 5x the power of a Jupiter at 2x the cost ~ which sounds good, but the calculations speak for themselves : http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/294c1f0fab

The price includes the power supply, and it also includes a powerful controller integrated in the solution to manage the ASICs. Note that the power consumption is a fraction of other devices out there per Gh/s.
65  Bitcoin / Hardware / CoinTerra Unveils a 2TH/s ASIC Bitcoin Miner : TerraMiner IV on: August 19, 2013, 11:44:44 PM
Due to high interest and demand, we have decided to announce the specs and price of our first product: TerraMiner IV, before the official launch of our full product line.

TerraMiner IV is the most powerful, high-performance Bitcoin mining rig available for pre-order and packs a hashrate of greater than 2 TH/s.

Designed by the world’s leading experts in ASICs, mathematics and algorithm design, it features Cointerra’s in-house designed ASIC – the GoldStrike1.

TerraMiner IV delivers unprecedented performance while maintaining an exceptionally efficient wattage rating (of significantly less than a watt per Gh/s). It is optimized and designed for use by Bitcoin mining professionals who demand the very best cost/performance ratio for their systems.

TerraMiner IV will ship in December this year and retails for $15,750.

For more information and to place an order, go to order.cointerra.com.

Looking forward to serving you,

The CoinTerra Team

Is anyone from CoinTerra going to the Austin Bitcoin meet up at 5PM today? http://www.meetup.com/BitcoinCryptocurrency/Austin-TX/

I was hoping to meet you guys and ask a few questions.

If so, other forum members- feel free to suggest questions you'd like answered.

Not going today, but surely can meet next weekend. Send an email to info@cointerra.com

Atleast I do care, this team has a very high potential.

Btw. I do expect CC and/or PayPal payments to be accepted. Bitcoin only is not a very good option based on the bad history in these forums.

Yes, we will accept paypal.

Now that you agreed to accept credit cards and paypal until proven, we hope you have stocks on hand and guarantee delivery time, and your refund policy. may you have a reasonable price per hash, something much lower than those from x-crowd and hashfast.

Yes, better performance, better price, and a very customer friendly delay policy.

Cointerra GoldStrike System prices will be released within 48 hours! Stay tuned!!

Looks like feedback indicates that pre orders are shit. Come back when you have units in hand ready to ship.

For every feedback like this one we receive here, we receive a few inquires through email for a preorder. When preorders are no longer the norm in the market we will drop it too.
70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cointerra GoldStrike System Prices to be Released Soon! on: August 17, 2013, 02:51:40 PM
No one cares for your pre-order nonsense, come back when you have something in hand and ready to ship.

We have received hundreds of emails inquiring about our prices. So, some people seem to care. Therefore we are releasing the prices sooner than planned.

...and this has nothing to do with x-crowd, or hashfast also tying their hardest to lock people in all ironically at the exact same time, right now, for the exact same period of time, till January? Roll Eyes

We are aware of the other players in this space, so also are the customers. Based on the emails we have received it is apparent that people are very eager to know soon how the competition stack up in terms of performance, efficiency, and pricing. We want to provide people choices and let them decide!

What make you think that you are not a Scam? How you can proof that you are NOT a Scam?

We will provide enough data in the coming days/weeks to prove our credibility. Our team member's profiles and track record is public for everyone to see. So also the information about our partners.

74  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: August 11, 2013, 06:55:30 PM
At this rate the only way CoinTerra is going to be worth is if they produce a 1TH/s machine and price it so good that nobody will even think of KnC. It has to be the same sort of difference like when you see BFLs 500GH/s machine sold for $22k when KnC is offer 400GH/s for $7k - it's a no brainer. Cointerra is going to have to pull off something like this. They openly stated that they want to make it more efficient with smaller chips etc, but with Bitcoin and where the difficulty is headed, that won't matter. Right now being first counts, because at the rate the difficulty is set, by the time the CoinTerra machines arrive, they are just going to be too late and overpriced.

To be honest, ASIC manufacturers should really be talking about 750GH~1TH/s at this point in time.

Yes, we plan to have > 1TH/s rigs, and Yes, the prices will be much lower than the competition. Our product lineup, specs, and prices are coming out by end of this month.
75  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: August 10, 2013, 11:57:07 PM
Any options to do local pickup for warehouse or office complex ie pay on arrival at company and pay in person or maybe to do a deposit on order and then rest on collection?
Yes, such options are available. We will release the details on our website during the product launch by end of this month.
76  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: August 10, 2013, 11:46:08 PM
The cost to produce silicon is far lower for us than the competition. The reasons being; we have way much better perf/mm2 and W/perf. So, yes we will be able to sell chips at a more affordable price for the low end miner.

Do you have some insider information on KnC and/or HashFast? Do you know how big their dies are going to be?

H/s/mm2 is a big deal, but at this point H/Joule isn't all that relevant at the moment.

H/Joule is relevant for us because that is what allowed us to pack more hash engines in the die without going overboard on the wattage. A better H/Joule allowed us a better overall H/mm2.
77  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: August 10, 2013, 11:38:32 PM
when will the price info be released?

The price info will be released before end of the month. The specs, SKUs, will all be released. We are waiting for our e-commerce platform to be ready before posting the price information. Don't want to release it prematurely when we still cannot accept orders.
78  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: August 10, 2013, 11:35:28 PM
More pre-orders. Sigh, I hope we don't get another BFL or BitSynCon.

We need more specs than this. Price per GH/s is a start.

Where are the technical specs, their design team, Fab, their address and contact numbers?

Where everything else is in Bitcoin land.. In a deep dark place no one has access to.

This. So much this.

$/GH is coming soon. By end of this month it will be all out there on our website.
Design team is based in Austin, TX. Our Foundry is Global Foundries, Physical Design and Tapeout is done by Open-Silicon.
We are building our customer support team now, once we have it in place, we will give out our phone #s.

Actually, I think price would be more important.
Something is only a competitive advantage if your competition can't match it. KNC already announced a $5k price in November--the likely earliest ship date for Cointerra. What Cointerra might have on KNC is efficiency, maybe, we don't know exactly yet or by how much. KNC meanwhile has an earlier ship date, and that matters way more unless Cointerra wants to drop their miner's price precipitously in Nov, sub $5k, which I doubt they want to do.

Right, and unlike Cointerra, KnC has already paid for all their NRE.   That means that, unlike Cointerra and KnC at this point - they can dump the chips for any price above their fabrication/production/shipping cost and still make a profit.

In fact, they can actually operate at a slight loss until their competition gives up.

Only way Cointerra can beat them is if their chips are far cheaper to produce then KnC's.

Hopefully they're taking lessons from what's happening with HashFast.

Hey, where has Dr. David Tannenbaum disappeared? Huh

Yes, it does appear on the website as though Dr. Dave is gone, and Dr. Naveed has moved up to onto the "active" row.

I would be surprised if there is not very rapid mutation of business planning at CoinTerra, just as there evidently has been at HashFast (or FastHash; I'll never be able to really know which way it is).

It just isn't the pre-order slam dunk market of the spring any more.

Dr David likes his privacy, so his name has been removed from the website.
