The prices and actions no longer give ANY accurate picture of the value and price of bitcoin - why SHOULD their pricing be factored into any sort of average?
ganabb, seems i've totally missed something, can you please elaborate ?

BTC-E rate is more than 30% up compared to the other exchanges it is automatically discarded from the average.
Really as i donot see them
Hey, this post makes very little sense, can you please email us with some screenshots if you're having some specific issue?: bitcoinaverage@gmail.combitcoin.de is integrated > https://bitcoinaverage.com/markets#EUR

I don't know what bitcoinaverage has to earn from this but as a stats providing website accuracy should be something importand to them.
We don't earn anything from ignoring an exchange, in fact we earn next to nothing by maintaining this service As Newar has kindly quoted out comments on this already, there isn't much i can add. We would welcome a solution to this problem, and of course the code is open source so anyone willing can email us with a discussion on implementing something

We've posted on reddit, twitter and here regarding this. The issue with 0% fee exchange models has been very well discussed. Yes we do need a solution for this, and welcome any suggestions. Note: Email us with any specific queries, we are far less likely to spot threads on here

Bitcoin.de should be top priority
Hi, what exactly is wrong with bitcoin.de? We've had it integrated for a very long time now: Bitcoin.de** 20.47% 601.29 378.02 EUR Ignore the **, we've just improved the backend and need to make a frontend change

Did you guys ever come up with an official android widget? I've got one that uses your api, but I'd switch to your official version if you ever get one.
Unfortunately not, we're working off very little time and funds. We would be interested at certain levels if anyone feels like firing us over a generous quote We could also do with our responsive theme being overhauled mainly for smaller devices, again this is low priority in the scheme of things but willing to outsource this as well.

Excellent. I hope you're set up to handle heavy traffic and API usage. This is the kind of approach the market needs to stay rational and decentralized.
Yes, this is where our main focus is at the moment, we're redesigning a lot of the code to provide more frequent data updates as well.

Thanks! Is it open source? I hope so, it'd be great to have the rules determining the average open source. (sure, they might be straightforward, but still better to see it and share it.) I'd love it if we would all start to see a more representative number all over the place.
Yes it is, this was our vision since conception, however it seems most of the larger organisations and media like to quote prices from people they are in bed with. Having said that we are receiving more and more requests from investment groups and the like, http://www.falconglobalcapital.com/ are now using our index for their fund. Ok, this is in the job queue

Have you guys put out an official android widget yet? I never did get around to writing my own. I find your api quite useful.
Nothing official no, If someone wants to design and give us a price for this please email us (we are purely funded from donations/ads so no huge quotes!). I'm aware its a very basic app/widget but we're bogged down at the moment!

I get a redirect-loop warning (in google chrome) on the charts page as of early this morning (just now, 27th) when clicking either "Charts" link or the small chart on the main page, when GBP selected and shown as the currency. Not used the site for several days but I normally use the charts.
As above thankyou for pointing this out, my error! As for the charts, we never set out to be a charting site, the API was always our focus. However, we would like to improve them a little. We don't have any intention of developing something like bitcoinwisdom, but what small/basic features are we missing that you would appreciate?

Thanks for both reports, the issue has now been resolved. Regards Shaun

Thanks for the suggestion, i'll add this to our list of improvements!

Why huobi isn't there?
Huobi is currently ignored due to its extremely high trading volume (which has now been confirmed as being due to their 0% trading fees) We are seeking a solution so that we can integrate exchanges of this nature without it significantly distorting the price. If anyone has ideas on this feel free to contact us Regards Shaun at BitcoinAverage
