61  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: January 29, 2018, 02:49:01 AM
The new system of rank up needs some time, to see how it will achieve desired results. We all know that some members want to achieve higher ranks in short period of time with spammy posts. Now some of the users will stop to do that and they will try to make more constructive posts.
It will be hard for us to rank up but it will be extra harder for shitposters to rank up to.
62  Other / Meta / Re: Please limit merit awards to one per post per person. on: January 28, 2018, 11:24:22 PM
It is becoming apparent that the Ponzi pushers are getting awards of up to 50 merits for rubbish posts. This will lead to an increase in sig spamming, and not a reduction. It would also be a good idea if a signature campaign manager was not a Merit Faucet. This would avoid them being led into temptation. Smiley

@Jet Cash it would be better to bring back the old system but with some corrections, which can give moderator rights to mark the user as spam creator.
After the potential spammer gets that mark, he would get chance to gain his reputation back( in a couple of weeks or more), if he gives 10 constructive posts(this is just explanation, it could be more than 10+ posts) moderator will make a decision should that spam mark will be removed or not.
If spammer continues to post shity comments, then moderator have all rights to give him Negative trust.
63  Other / Meta / Re: Has Bitcointalk turned into social media? on: January 28, 2018, 10:53:05 PM
It seems that you can't get higher up in the ranks without "likes" lately.
Which is sort of weird, because if you basically don't have friends in high places or people just don't like you at best you stay in place. Not to mention that you can get negative merits. Why? Just because maybe someone doesn't like your thread/face/English pronunciation and so on.
At least this is my opinion.

I hope I won't get negative merits, but if I do I'll have to accept the fact that just freely speaking your mind is not the best idea.

Well, we all know that now is harder to achieve new rank, but we need to wait and observe how Merit system will fight against spammy content. I think we will see real results after one month.

By the way @myhometalk, they didn't implement de-merits in this system.
64  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price speculation on: January 28, 2018, 10:14:57 PM
What are your price speculations guys?

short term, long term, quarterly, monthly ?

please share statistics if you got any.

thanks.

In monthly term, you can expect increasing Bitcoin price in the range of 12k-15k USD. You can read from news that Perth Mint (Australian Gold Refinery) announces that they plan to develop cryptocurrency, those are great news so you can expect that Bitcoin price will increase. I also read that Venezuela is planning to launch a national cryptocurrency ''Petro''.
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: DON'T PANIC. HOLD YOUR BITCOIN. on: January 28, 2018, 07:07:54 PM
The price of bitcoin is stable for now, we can see how the price gently progressing up. This is the time where you need to be patient and remain calm.  Also, we can see that other cryptocurrencies grow, so I can just suggest you to buy some of them.
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it easy to predict the price of Bitcoin in a near future? on: January 28, 2018, 06:21:55 PM
It's very hard to predict Bitcoin. All cryptocurrencies changes are based on specific media, so every single panic can change the price of it. The current price of Bitcoin is stable but for how long, we will see. I prefer to watch a lot of media news from China about Bitcoin value, so this helps me somehow to predict a price of Bitcoin.
67  Economy / Economics / Re: is there any economic effect for the country or bitcoin users on: January 28, 2018, 12:12:59 AM
now there are some countries that began to issue a ban on the use of bitcoin, is there any influence on the country and of course its users in economic value?

The main problem why countries(their governments) ban Bitcoin because they can't manipulate with money from it. There is a lot of other reasons why countries ban cryptocurrencies. But can that influence the country? I don't think so. Countries are based on their local currency and gold, not on Bitcoin.
68  Other / Meta / Re: Merits could be a character molding. on: January 27, 2018, 11:19:55 PM
The merit system is an excellent way to protect the forum from spammy comments. Now new users will try to write more constructive posts instead spammy ones, so they will become the essential part of this forum. From every day they spent at this forum, they will discover something new and they will learn that step by step.
69  Economy / Speculation / Re: telegram MTN Group Yesterday again right! new pump coming 11460 as see today! on: January 27, 2018, 10:08:00 PM
We wil go again to 11460, in the next pump.
i hope this time we wil hit 12K. afther we are over 11800.

if we go to 11800, than we wil hit 12k, if not go to 11800, than we wil go back to 11K

''Wow, if we hit here and hit there we will go over there if not we will go back blah, blah.''

Dude this is the way how I understood you, I didn't find anything constructive about your post. It appears that you just stare at BTC/USD live graph. Could you do some analysation before posting this? Do you follow news about Bitcoin?

70  Economy / Speculation / Re: Changing rate of bitcoin value on: January 27, 2018, 09:44:32 PM
Does bitcoin value will increase in the future if more people decide to use it?

If interest for Bitcoin increase and quantity remains the same, a value of Bitcoin will increase. But just to know, Bitcoin will trickle out every hour in small amounts if demand increases.
71  Economy / Speculation / Re: Future of Bitcoin in 5 years ___ what will be ? on: January 27, 2018, 02:23:04 PM
So you guyz ever think if anyother cryptocurrency replace Bitcoin in 5 years what will be the condition be of the other  cryptos.

Today Bitcoin is the king of the cryptos as we can say to watch the codition of cryptos. So, Is there is any Cryptos which have tendency to replace Bitcoin.

Five years is long-term to anyone who can analyse cryptocurrencies, we can just make some speculations about that. We don't know in what condition cryptocurrencies will be.
But which cryptocurrency have a tendency to follow Bitcoin? I think Ethereum have great chances to reach Bitcoin price.
72  Other / Meta / Re: About Merit and Trash/Junk posts on: January 26, 2018, 09:10:31 PM
You're right!

Newer posts get far less merit than post starters.

Yes for sure, a small group of members got time to read all of that spammy comments and after that, they lose their time and just jump into another forum section. If they find interesting and constructive comments at the top they will rate it, but posts on other pages are another story. Sad but true.
73  Other / Meta / About Merit and Trash/Junk posts on: January 26, 2018, 05:10:18 PM
Hello to all of you!

First of all, I don't have any bad thoughts about this new merit system.

I just started to read much more posts after this merit implementation so I realize that bunch of retarded posts get merits. I can't believe that one retarded post can get merit and after that ''retarded'' post we can see 10 constructive posts who deserve merit but they don't have it.

So what is the problem?

Most of the members don't read the whole thread they just read the topic and then they go to comment box.  They don't have time to read other members posts. Do I need to beg someone to read my post?
How can I expect for someone to vote up my post when none of those members read threads till the end.
I got the intuition that just admin and moderators read those posts.

Please keep inside your mind if you read a constructive post then give your Merits to that member.

76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices may rise sharply in 2018 on: January 26, 2018, 04:27:52 AM
I would like to see that but that is just speculation. Price of cryptocurrencies will grow but how much we will see. It's beginning of 2018 I would like to see a price of Bitcoin at 30k USD at the end of 2018 also I expect some average price of Bitcoin around 10k -15k USD until end of the year.
We can just wait and observe what next will appear in cryptocurrencies world.
77  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Novi rankup sistem foruma on: January 25, 2018, 12:16:15 AM
Prije svega sta vi mislite o tome?

Kako i sama tema kaze Novi rankup sistem je tu. Pojavljuje se opcija Merit kojom dajete odredjenom komentatoru poen za kvalitetan post ili ako se slazete sa istim.

Mislim da nije losa fora ovako to sada izgleda:

Rank           Required activity   Required merit
Brand new                 0               0
Newbie                 1                0
Jr Member                30                0
Member                60               10
Full Member       120               100
Sr. Member       240               250
Hero Member       480               500
Legendary   Random in the range 775-1030   1000

Nadam se da sam vas  obavjestio na neki nacinm, orginalni post je na ovom linku

78  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 24, 2018, 11:47:23 PM
I like this, now we will see more constructive comments/posts on threads. It will be easier for bounty managers to determinate who is eligible for signature campaigns. I expect more comments in the local section of the forum.
What else to say, great job admin!
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: Realistically, how do you think bitcoin will perform this year? on: January 24, 2018, 04:12:38 AM
I read news about Bitcoin, I did some analysation and I can say that this year Bitcoin should hit maximum 30k USD in value. I also think that average price of Bitcoin will be around 11K~15k USD.
Now let's explain why? - from my point of view.
Since the price of Bitcoin rise, we can see more charges and according to those businesspeople who attending to purchase, instantly looking for alternatives where they wouldn't be charged a lot(now we can see that other cryptocurrencies prices are in increase).
Bitcoin got huge media attention, so we can practically see every single news are about Bitcoin on the top of popular sites. That media attention is blade with two edges(this can change the price of Bitcoin drastically).
Now we have other cryptocurrencies in the game, so the price of Bitcoin should get some sort of average price form.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees are killing/have killed Bitcoin.... it is sad but true. on: January 23, 2018, 08:43:06 PM
Only a few years ago we had a growing number of shops here in Berlin that you were able to buy food and/or drinks from for bitcoin. Right now there are no more of these stores left. And most of the sellers I used to buy things from on the big marketplaces now refuse to trade bitcoin too and changed to etherium. I know for those people that think that bitcoin is the new gold it is not that bad but bitcoin was "released" to be something completely different. Right now bitcoin is no real crypto currency at all. Buy a coffee for 2,5 bucks and pay 25 bucks fee.... sure.......... In my opinion, bitcoin completely failed because of these fees and I sold every last satoshi and invested in other crypto currencies. Is there a single reason to stick to bitcoin? If yes, please feel free to tell me!

Yes, the price fee is high because Bitcoin price was boosted from last year and now every single market, pub, restaurant etc. who manage to have Bitcoin paying machine want to make a profit with fees. Just keep in mind some of this markets, pubs, restaurants pay fees to their country, so their logic is that you pay a fee for coffee, Bitcoin transaction and country fee.
So this provides them to make their profit without fees.
