61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 25,000 German Online Stores in Germany to Begin Accepting Crypto in 2019 on: October 21, 2018, 01:50:35 PM
It kind of sucks that people have to use payment processors to spend Bitcoin when that's exactly what it wants to prevent, but I suppose it's a good short-term measure. I just hope these existing options don't dissuade merchants from accepting Bitcoin directly in the future.

But yeah, I would be psyched about this if I were German.
I really doubt merchants will be enthusiastic about accepting bitcoins directly considering how volatile it is and also considering they are simply in business to make profits..

Accepting the bitcoin directly could propel them to incur losses as the price is definitely never stable
It could be setup in a way that automatically converts the bitcoin to their local currency this taking the risk out of it, I have seen this in other programs.

They could also just save the bitcoin and make a nice profit in the future.
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going towards the dark on: October 21, 2018, 01:46:27 PM
Bitcoin isn't going to just disappear because it goes down in price, it has been the most stable it has been this year but we are coming to the end of the year and hoping for a similar situation to what we had last year.

Bitcoin won't be destroyed.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “Blockchain and cryptos are here to stay”, insist business advisory firm as it b on: October 20, 2018, 10:01:51 PM
Yes I think that crypto is here the stay, Blockchain has so many uses for so many different things it will be around forever behind many of the systems people use.  The next few years will be interesting to see how quickly it becomes used by governments.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fidelity entering the crypto world on: October 19, 2018, 06:41:53 AM
It will be interesting to see how this impacts the price and other institutions, it should give more credibility to bitcoin and give it that stamp of approval that many aren waiting for before they involve themselves.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to store some Bitcoins? on: October 18, 2018, 06:02:40 PM
Anytime you can is a good time to buy and store bitcoin, try to forget about it for a few years as that's what it will take before we get mainstream.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is the beginning of the 2019 altcoin'll be back? on: October 18, 2018, 06:30:34 AM
Right now the prices of all altcoin in very drastic, especially ETH, whether in 2019 it'll be back, or just keep it stable?
Give me your opinion.
I am hoping for sooner, everything has gone down this year and become quite stable.  I want it to get back to the olden days where you didn't know what it would be like when you woke up in the morning.
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: The pain of holding bitcoin in 2017. on: October 18, 2018, 06:27:24 AM
It has been a hard year for those that got in at the end of last year, I hope many were able to hold and didn't panic sell.  Not just bitcoin but ALTs have been destroyed as well, I am hoping for a similar rise this year but so far it doesn't look great.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The future of the Altcoin in two years on: October 18, 2018, 06:23:12 AM
Depending on the coin obviously, many of mine I have been holding for the last two years and they are finally starting to get things moving so I am hoping the price will start to move.

Patience is key if you are nvested in a good project, it took a long time to realise that holding is the best options n.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency requires small spaces for discussion on: October 17, 2018, 04:42:45 PM
Based on personal experience, I was stupid about crypto but crypto made me curious and made me want to learn about crypto.

I tried to find discussion groups about crypto in my country but it was difficult to find them. I try to create myself with friends who like technology and we learn together about crypto. That keeps our knowledge growing when opening a small space for discussion with your friends.

What do you think, is a small space for discussion needed?
It all depends on what type of people you have around you, for the first couple of years nobody in my work even heard about crypto.

I managed to get one colleague involved by buying ETH when it was under $10 when he saw it flying up that peaked his interest and got him involved in other coins.

He did sell when it went up to $40 and was happy with that but by doing this others got interested and starting looking into coins, although it might be hard to find people around you, all you have can discuss is keep talking an it it.

If all else fails you have us here.
70  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening right now? (2018/10/15) on: October 17, 2018, 07:02:58 AM
It is quite funny when you see people talking about bitcoin being pumped with a 2% rise, back in the day it would swing high and low 20% as normal.

It was really has settled down this year which I believe is why we are now seeing a lot of people he big hugs taking it series usly as an investment.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we stop Bitcoin's negative publicity?-Rebranding. on: October 16, 2018, 05:34:06 PM
Rebranding isn't going to change anything, I think bitcoin has a far better image than it did a few years ago, it still gets a bad name when they put it alongside crime in the headlines but I think overall it is in far better shape.

We now see a lot of companies and finance such as the recent Fidelity news taking an interest.
Imagine what will happen once it really takes off.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for ICO, is it good or bad idea? on: October 16, 2018, 06:48:06 AM
I'm not sure if KYC is a great idea for ICOs as we all have seen some that are scams and not only will you be giving them your money you will end up giving them your Identity which they can then sell on or even use.

I have no issue with doing this with credible companies but a standard run of the mill ICO in order to claim coins doesn,'t make sense to me.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers alert: New way to scam bitcoin users on: October 15, 2018, 05:34:35 PM
I have seen this outside of crypto with betting sites someone said they needed someone in another country to login and withdraw as they were unable to in their country.

Anytime anyone wants you do either deposit or if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is bad news.
74  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to trade altcoins? on: October 15, 2018, 06:52:00 AM
You can ask people for their choice and you will receive a hundred different coins, it comes down a lot to personal preference and a bit of loyalty also, I have a few coins I have been holding for a long time that will start moving at some point, they are not your mainstream well known from one like ETH or LTC.

might be worth having a quick look,. ADK and COVAL are a couple which are starting to progress.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the current situation on the market? on: October 15, 2018, 06:45:57 AM
We are getting close to the end iof the year and I think there are a lot of people hoping for a similar scenario to what we had last year, if everything does move up I can see a lot of people well my.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How often do you check CoinMarketCap website? on: October 14, 2018, 07:32:23 AM
For me it has been nearly everyday once for years now.  Grin

I used to check it more than that when I was actively trading ALTs but more recently I tend to look at market caps every few days and I have moved away from Coinmarketcap to other ones as not all my coins are listed there.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it true that 99% of all airdrops are shitcoins of bad projects ? on: October 13, 2018, 08:19:21 AM
Airdrops have become a way for some to get visibility, get listed on an exchange then dump and run.  You will get some decent ones amongst the rubbish, back in the day when airdrops were new it was fair don't get me wrong there were still scams but nowhere near as many as nowadays.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Article Says that Whales Cannot Tank the Market on: October 13, 2018, 08:11:53 AM
"The bottom line? The role of whales in the Bitcoin market may be overstated. The top 32 whales control around 6% of the supply, but that figure drops to 4.6% when lost Bitcoins are taken into account."

http://fortune.com/2018/10/10/can-the-whales-of-bitcoin-tank-the-market/

Yeah I don't think it is the whales that have the most influence I think the miners and the exchanges would have a lot of influence.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum fail if Vitalik dies? on: October 12, 2018, 06:48:42 PM
What do you think will happen with Ethereum if Vitalik Buterin's death is confirmed? Will the price crash and the project fail? Or would it continue to grow into infinity and beyond? I'm concerned about this, since previously, there were rumors about Vitalik's death which caused the price of Ethereum to fall drastically within the cryptocurrency market. Fortunately, Vitalik showed proof that he was alive, which calmed the downfall of Ethereum's price.

However, if Vitalik dies, many things could happen either good or bad. Perhaps, Ethereum may fall if Vitalik dies, because he's been leading the project every step of the way. By not having a leader, the Ethereum project will disorientate itself into oblivion, IMO. Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this? Roll Eyes
I don't think it will make the slightest bit of difference to ETH as a whole, it will continue on but it would be without it's leader you could say.  He is talking about moving away from it anyway.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are lazy on: October 12, 2018, 06:45:27 PM
I just wonder sometimes why hackers would not want to use their time and effort they spend to scam others on doing something meaningful and legit, to earn something worthwhile for themselves, except to rip others of their hard earned money.
Most times, what they even take illegally from others at the end is not used for anything meaningful.
Scammers should desist from this act, because karma is real.
Work and don't be lazy.
Some would say why work hard when you can do the minimum and let others do the hard work.
It is not only in crypto, we see this happening in every sector I think just now with the unregulated crypto arena it is an ideal place for scammers.

We just all have to be vigilante and warn others.
