62  Economy / Speculation / Re: can bitcoin reach 25k$ on: February 21, 2018, 06:02:18 PM
Bitcoin bull run may start in April and from then we can see high prices may touch all-time high 25000 dollars or more
Do you have any factors in mind that would drive the price so high at that time ? Or is it just an assumption ?
63  Economy / Speculation / Re: can bitcoin reach 25k$ on: February 21, 2018, 05:55:22 PM
It all depends on the G20 summit on March. The ledaers are going to discuss a global set of regulation for cryptocurrency. Let us hope for the best.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still believe in ICO ? on: February 20, 2018, 07:34:16 AM
Every ICO is a start-up who are trying to attract investors for their upcoming project. Previously it was done by a presentation to the Venture Capitalists. Even then the rate of success of these start-ups were not more than 2%. Why would it be any different now. The people who are investing in lot of start ups already know that only a handful of them are actually going to give out any return.

However, in case of ICOs, a lot of them are just scams, a lot of them are performing exit scams to give a eyewash to their investors and a lot of them are not regulation compliant which can seriously hurt in the way of their development. Therefore, everyone should at least verify if the people behind the ICO are genuine or not. It is safe to find out if the company behind the ICO is registered in any permissible jurisdiction or not. And of course, the real question : Is it going to solve any problem? If you are satisfied with all three of these questions then I think you should go and invest in it.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook banning All crypto ads!! on: February 15, 2018, 09:33:38 AM
Shocked So is this news absolutely true? or just a "maybe" news? Because I still see advertisements of token sales on facebook all the time.

if this news is true, then that sucks for actual startups and token sales that are actually legit and want to build a better future for crypto. But I guess since there are scams out there, and since facebook has no way to differentiate between which ones are good or bad.. Then it's safer for them to just block all of them. Still sucks though.

I still do not think it is a good policy. There should be a provision for submitting legit documents so that the startups can prove that they are doing legitimate business not scams.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook banning All crypto ads!! on: February 15, 2018, 09:13:25 AM
As far as I know advertisers of cryptocurrency ICOs and other companies are still showcasing their tokens in facebook. Maybe facebook has blocked some form of the advertising or people are bypassing the targeted members to provide different interests for their customers.
67  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Well educated nation is the key? on: February 13, 2018, 06:44:31 AM
I fear that when blockchain practice goes mainstream, it will be turned to conventional, boring and inefficient teaching method just like we have today.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Arizona Plans on Accepting Bitcoin as legal means of Payments for taxes on: February 13, 2018, 05:51:50 AM
I heard another news that the leader of Chechnya bought some bitcoin for himself to stay updated with the evolution. I guess every government is now realizing that they can not stop this financial revolution. Good sign for the crypto world indeed. But most importantly, during the G20 summit this March, a global decision will be taken on the fate of cryptocurrency.
69  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: ICOs asking for passport...is it safe? on: February 08, 2018, 06:33:17 PM
This KYC requirement for ICO investors has come into light after the regulations from South Korea where every exchange should have KYC against each wallet. So I think new ICOs are trying to be more regulation compliant in the eyes of the regulators.

South Korea has done this basically for tax purpose and preventing money laundering as there is exchange with fiat currency involved. However, in case of ICOs, a person can easily transfer his/her cryptocurrency from KYC completed wallet to another new anonymous wallet without breaking a sweat. So blockchain developers and regulators would have to come up with something entirely different.
70  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Singapore will not ban cryptocurrency on: February 08, 2018, 10:45:45 AM
Although the Singapore government has no problem with crypto business, the banks will not allow to open bank account for ICO startups. Besides, almost all the banks are not allowing crypto businesses to create account and make transactions. I think after the G20 summit when all the superpowers sit and decide on the global regulatory structure of ICO & cryptocurrency all of these uncertainties should come to an end.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US state senators Introduce Bill Exempting tokens from the securities laws on: February 06, 2018, 07:48:46 AM
Due to the separation of powers, the judiciary should not be making laws, nor should the SEC, as an executive arm of the government, be making any laws. Only parliament, or in US the congress and State congresses, have the legitimate power to make laws.

The judiciary, therefore, might have to give the Wyoming bill prevalence over any of their own interpretation or of that of the SEC, because it would be the only token specific bill passed by an elected legislative body.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / US state senators Introduce Bill Exempting tokens from the securities laws on: February 06, 2018, 07:04:58 AM
Finally, some elected body with an open mind in the USA opening up their arms to embrace Initial Coin Offerings. Their points are actually common sense which most of the elected bodies denies to understand. May be these kinds of news will bring positive light into the crypto world. According to the bill -
"A developer or seller of an open blockchain token shall not be deemed the issuer of a security, if the token has not been marketed by the developer or seller as an investment; the token is exchangeable for goods or services; and the developer or seller of the token has not entered into a repurchase agreement of any kind or entered into an agreement to locate a buyer for the token.”

They added that In many cases, for example, such blockchain tokens are simply prepaid software licenses. If tradeable gift cards and prepaid cell phone minutes are not regulated as money or securities, why should prepaid software licenses fall into those categories?

This bill, therefore, even if it doesn’t pass, has assisted this space and might put a stop to what some see as SEC’s over-reaching, but if it passes it might change the national debate, in US and more widely.

73  Economy / Speculation / Re: how to predict bitcoin price increase or decrease? on: February 05, 2018, 04:37:37 PM
As the cryptocurrency is relatively new to the whole world the rate of adoption is very high. Everyone is learning how this is actually going to work. Mathematically when the adoption rate is high, the volatility should also be high as there are both weak and strong hands in the market. However, gradually when the whole world world is ready for it to take it to mainstream, there will be less volatility and more commonality.

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC in ICO & Trading account on: February 01, 2018, 01:57:29 PM
The bitcoin network is pretty slow nowadays. If any development does not come soon in the bitcoin network people will look for other currencies. As many investors in the crypto world has weak hands, they are selling their cryptocurrencies regarding FUD as many regulations has stepped in. People who understands crypto will take it as a positive sign. However, this is good for the market as weak hands will diminish from the market and only the strong players will remain.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / KYC in ICO & Trading account on: February 01, 2018, 09:51:48 AM
South Korea has established regulations that every Crypto trading account should have a complete KYC. In my opinion initial coin offerings should also have KYC for every investor to be regulation compliant. Thus, terror financing will reduce to a great extent through cryptocurrency.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BITCOIN value is decreasing, ANY chance of rise in other Currency? on: February 01, 2018, 09:43:58 AM
Bitcoin and other coins will begin to rise again as South Korea has cleared their standing for bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading. Their court has also ruled yesterday that bitcoin has true economic value. So the speculators and regulators are both on board to accept cryptocurrency.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Ethereum Overthrown Bitcoin? on: January 31, 2018, 05:07:02 PM
Ethereum does have the potential to be the market leader in market cap. However, Bitcoin and Ethereum are two different entities with different use cases. Currently, Bitcoin is being used more as a Crypto Asset rather than a currency. On the other hand, Ethereum has many use cases like deploying smart contract.
