61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: May 09, 2014, 04:39:11 AM
Couple questions:

Running 1.4 TH/s

- I find the east coast low diff pool to be much better for consistency. On port 8888 and especially the DDOS one the diff auto sets to something insane. On that point no matter what I set it to the pool decides for me.

- What diff setting have you guys had success with around my hash rate? I know it really shouldn't matter and I actually prefer a higher diff to decrease bandwidth usage

- Please change the profitability back to percentage in the top 5 list.
62  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling Block cube erupter 36Ghs-38Ghs.....or will trade for 2 Bitfury Reds on: May 09, 2014, 04:25:32 AM
I almost made the same mistake in buying a bunch of them till I figured the amount of PSUs I would need and watt/gh ratio of that beast. GL and if all else fails bring it to work and it will be a great conversation piece and wont be on your electric bill.

Well at least the setup looks nice.
63  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Server PSU for Antminer S1, step by step guide. on: May 09, 2014, 02:25:29 AM

Can anyone tell me why there are so many wires coming off the positive and ground? I was expecting to see 4 on each for 4 pcie connections. What am I missing?
64  Bitcoin / Hardware / What server PSU can be used on 120v? on: May 08, 2014, 11:20:50 PM
I see all these guides for 240v but can't find much for 110v so thinking they don't really exist. Any ideas?
65  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 psu on: May 07, 2014, 07:38:15 PM
OC'd ants draw 400 watts at the wall so at 85% eff that is only 340 per ant. A lower rated PSU just means that it will draw more at the wall and has nothing to do with what the PSU is rated for. the only advantage of running 75% is a PSU is typically more efficient but I digress.

I run many ants 2xOCd on 850w PSUs without issue. Don't waste money if you don't have to.

You are fine what you describe is normal. Just do the following:

1. The IP sticker on your Ant is probably 192.168.1.99 so chances are you can just open a browser and type that ip address to access the ant. user root pw root

2. if not follow the guid it is very easy just plug ethernet from your comp into Ant change you ipv4 settings to match the subnet and you are good to go.

Read this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=355387

then this to OC to 393
http://cryptomining-blog.com/366-how-to-overclock-your-bitmain-antminer-s1-to-200-ghs/

Every new Ant I buy I just need to change the ip address under WAN settings and before that I make sure IP 192.168.1.99 is not set so I just plug and play.

67  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: If I get free electricity... on: May 05, 2014, 09:14:36 PM
You probably have a tiny electric panel. Every 2400 watts uses 20amps on 120 line. You are going to need lots of AC and noise is going to be loud. just start with a couple ant S1's and go from there
68  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 psu on: May 05, 2014, 05:22:01 PM
just get an 850w PSU and you will be fine. I have 860w corsair plat, 850 thermaltake gold and both have been running for many months without issue. Watts at the wall is around 810. Say 10% loss (conservative) it is only at 730watts.

PSU's are not rated for what they draw at the wall!!!!!!! They are rated for what they can deliver to the device.
69  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.619 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 26, 2014, 06:39:47 PM
I ordered 3 x s1 just yesterday as some one asked me to do it for him. I will update thread what kind of kit i got, if its old, overclocked or maybe new kit which just left factory.

I wonder if bitmain really become so big he dont give a monkey about customers any more.Or they still have some respect to people who helped them to grow.
Time will show.

Anyone have backround on bitmaintech? Who they are, names or stuff?
Where they come from? Really we dont know anything about them.

I have plenty of recently purchased units from them and they all look new to me. No dust, no overclock but not sure if they are brand new since I doubt they manufacture them anymore. Anyways never had a single problem with any of them and probably the most reliable asic ever built. Bitmain has always shipped fast and kept the price profitable. Also, they still give coupons and just got a .15 one so I have absolutely no complaints.
70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.844 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 23, 2014, 11:17:39 AM
How fast does bitmain ship their miners? I ordered a couple of days ago and payed instantly, but the site still says unshipped. Or do they just not update the shipment status on their webpage?

Sometimes they are slow to update web and once it ships it could already be halfway to you. I would be surprised if it doesn't change status today.
71  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] many NEW AntMiner S1 in stock and very cheap Hosting on: April 23, 2014, 04:13:07 AM
In fact 0.844x$500 = $422 *1.19 (VAT) = $502 which is roughly 360 EUR to my place. Why should I buy from you at higher price and god knows the actual condition.
There are a lot drawbacks:
1) limited or no warranty compared to buying from bitmain
2) 40 Euro on top of the price
3) probably used since I can't imagine anyone getting new hardware and not plugging in

just my 2 cents....

Hey i´m really tired seeing ppl like you spamming sellers posts

1º - If you buy from china you have Customs handling charges

2º - You will have to pay VAT

3º - If your order goes to inspection in customs you may or maybe not get over it, beside they don´t have power supply with them they can ask you what´s the purpose of the order and also documents regarding electronic components

4º - When you work to have something or sell something you expect to have profit, or are you a slave ??

5º - When you have problems with orders from china you must send defective items to china, please ask some courier the costs to send items there, not to mention the time wasted

Sorry to be kind of rude on this but really, seller is making a fair price in my opinion even lower than it should be, and you come here just to spam and give negative feedback on him, if you don´t agree with price just let it be, or say "if you go down on price i may buy" not just come with some bla bla bla child stuff

He isn't spamming anyone. Why let people on this board get ripped off when a better cheaper alternative is available? People already pay too much for mining gear and that fuels the overpriced hardware. He actually asked why should I buy from you...? Very valid point. It is not our fault someone got a bad deal and is trying to pass the buck. No offense and EU has strange rules VAT, customs, whatever that I am not aware of so it could be a good deal for all I know and best of luck to OP.
72  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Who wants Group buy 1.2T avalon bitcoin machine in FL on: April 23, 2014, 04:08:48 AM
There 4 boards in each machine and 8 28nm chips on each board,we don't provide power supplier ,but the machine only need 1000w power supplier, this is the lowest price we can give if you purse under 10 pieces, you can come to meet us in person if you want, please contact the phone number i gave to you to make the day ,thanks
I was referring to the system as a whole, not in parts.

Please provide better specs for the hardware. You probably would've gained more interest if you had provided proper hardware information.

What is the wattage of the 1.2T system?
What power supply is included (if any)?
How many chips per board?
How many boards per system?
What is the lowest price you can do?
etc etc...

I'm in Miami, and if the price & spec is good enough, I would come and buy a few of them and pick them up in person and pay in person.

I think you mean 5 boards. The pic has 5 and all other 32chip miners only get 1TH/s by overclocking the chips. If this only has 32 chips than no different from dragon or that cheaper $2300 1Th miner.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can't ping my p2pool server on: April 23, 2014, 03:48:30 AM
This is driving me nuts. It works fine but won't return a ping:
doge.is-by.us:22550/static

Ubuntu 12.04 Doge p2pool following these instructions:
http://doges.org/index.php?topic=5586.0

- ran sudo ufw allow xxxx knowing it had nothing to do with it.

Network:
- It is a dedicated server behind a home router. Was also behind unmanaged switch but moved it to the router.
- Computer on same network can ping it.
- Enabled Responding to a Ping on an Internet Port (what is internet port 80 8080??) ping doesn't contain port.
- Put server in DMZ and still same result
- Used port forwarding for 22550 and added others for testing like 23, 80, 8080 with no success.
- Disabled Upnp
- Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection
- Changed NAT filtering to open

At a loss of what else to try. I guess I can connect directly to the cable modem and see what happens. My guess is my ISP is blocking ICMP.

Thanks
74  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Sapphire R9 290 290x ** TRI-X ** Wholesale up to 12 Available brand new on: April 21, 2014, 05:21:03 AM
Newegg sells them for the same price with free shipping. You need to lower your price if you expect to sell any.
75  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need help choosing a PSU on: April 21, 2014, 03:47:13 AM
Corsair 860 Ax860 Platinum for 2 Ant S1's. They draw 800 at the wall overclocked. Haven't had a problem yet and since it is platinum it will have some resale. I wouldn't get anything less than gold rated for saving electricity and resale but that is just me.

Bang for your buck you could probably run a cx430 for like $20 after mail in rebate and free shipping from newegg. It has 32 amp rail and can handle the crazy amp hungry cube so should work for a S1 if you have no budget.

78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ROI on gridseeds? really? on: April 18, 2014, 04:16:44 AM
i dont think you can roi in 1 year.  look at the asics coming out at 250 mh. alphat will soon release its 600 mh.

Where did you hear that? They have a 16Mh/s and 90Mh/s miners supposedly coming out.
79  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.885 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 17, 2014, 02:50:25 PM
Check out how fast they shipped my order. This is the fastest it ever got to me Thanks Bitmain

80  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Small Group Buy] Antminer S2 on: April 16, 2014, 05:54:21 PM
The S2's can be overclocked to 1.2TH assuming they don't change the chip count. So you are making 2+BTC and 240gh/s for running this GB.

"To give the possibility to small miner to get nice price per GH"
You shares come out to 1.66BTC($850) per 200GH/S. You can buy 2 Antminer S1's for that price.

People would be better off using PBmining or CEX.io. I assume after it is not profitable you will split the sale of the S2 with everyone?

Nobody will even come close to ROI except you.
