NO SYSTEM IP SHOWN

Hi,

Hope someone can help. I am trying to intall Minera on a Raspberry Pi 3 and I have installed the img on an SD card. The img loads and I can login but no system IP is shown and nor does the Pi show in the list of attached devices on my router.

I have booted the pi using Raspbian (NOOBS) and this connects to WiFi fine (though I had to disable IPV6).

I have tried fiddling with dhcp settings, assigning a static IP, disabling IPV6, etc. but no luck. Any ideas?

I am pretty new to Linux so it's a little painful at the mo.

Cheers in advance for any help.

Are you trying to work with Wifi or Ethernet?

WiFi:-)

Please check this https://github.com/getminera/minera/wiki/Configure-Wifi
And this: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/wireless-cli.md

I have installed the new image and I can't connect with WiFi even though I following the link above.
When I want to edit /etc/network/interfaces I see this:

# interfaces( 5 ) file used be ifup( 8 ) and ifdoen( 8 )

# Please note that this file is written to be used with dhcpcd
# For static IP, consult /etc/dhcpcd.conf and 'man dhcpcd.conf'

# Include files from /etc/network/interfaces.d
source-directory /etc/network/interfaces.d

I don't see that in the link

I trying to understand this, if you have max 3 2PACs sticks, this hub will be able to complete the task by adding them to Ports 2, 4 and 6.

https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Charging-Adapter-Support-Android/dp/B00L2LK164/

If you have more than 3 then it's a hub like this that have to be used:

Trying to find a USB Hub for my 2 2PACs and my RPi3.

All the links I have seen here are mostly pointed to Amazon. A lot from Amazon is not shipped to Denmark.
Could someone help me to find a USB hub that will fit the 2PAC and can be shipped to Denmark?

I'm not trying to be lazy, but I can't figure it out.

So click on the links that are provided, copy the name, model number, description, or whatever, then search for that info on your favorite online seller that does ship to Denmark. I would imagine that many of the same products are shipped around the world, and perhaps the only difference is the power supply that feeds the units. And that might be for local laws regarding safety approvals.

I found that Amazon have a UK division too. They ship to Denmark.
Thank you for your answer.

Noob here, having some trouble chaining my USB 3.0 hub to RPi 3 with a 2.0 hub (Noticed it was mentioned earlier).  The hubs seem to chain together fine when hooked up to my PC but my sticks aren't detected when chaining with the Pi.  Not sure what I am missing, maybe  my 2.0 selection was poor?

3.0 Hub:
https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Charging-Adapter-Included-VL812-B2/dp/B014ZQ07NE

2.0 Hub:
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182168&cm_re=usb_2.0_hub-_-17-182-168-_-Product

I couldn't get my Anker's (I have 10 port models) to work with chaining at all.  Ended up buying some of these https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ALLWDFW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with the data cable connected to a 2.0 Superbgpag and the other to the Ankers for power.
Could you add a picture of that setup, please?

I'm not that good of figure out how many of Sidehacks 2PACS I can mount on this USB Hub.
I can't understand these numbers.

I normally see CGminer and BFGminer for mining Bitcoin and Litecoin, but what kind of software and hardware do you use for other coins?

Monero
IOTA
Golem
Dogecoin
Ethereum
Bitcoin Cash

etc

Small question and it might be lame, sorry for my lame knowledge.

If I want to buy bitcoin, should I then install this Bitcoin Core?

Sounds very promising.  Smiley

EDIT:
Btw, the link in your 1st post is not working. Would it be to much to ask if you could get it to work?  Smiley

72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Small question about hardware for ethereum mining. on: September 08, 2017, 02:03:14 PM
How important is the motherboard for mining ethereum?
The board should just support some videocards, right?

I have at my work a Dell Precison T3600. I was thinking of using that for mining ethereum.

At this point there is 3 Nvidia Quadro 2000 videocards, (Yes, very lame, I know) Smiley but it should be possible to add other videocards for this, right?

What kind of videocards is good for mining ethereum?

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FutureBit Moonlander 2: The Most Powerful and Efficient USB Stick Miner! on: September 08, 2017, 01:42:37 PM
How to get these?
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining with a RPi on: September 08, 2017, 06:32:33 AM
It's all up to whether or not the board can support a PCI or M.2 PCI Interface and whether or not you are willing to program the board to actually run with the GPU as it will most likely not work out of the box. Most devices like this could save energy if they work, but they are also very expensive as most of these boards are development boards- best to just buy a normal motherboard and CPU.

Yes, if a devicedriver can be made to communicate with videocards through USB then it should be possible, right?
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining with a RPi on: September 07, 2017, 10:44:06 AM
I see your point, but is that not just a question of making that tool (software) that can combine USB and PCIe to talk?

I was just thinking if you have windows 10 on a motherboard where you have cuda running, why should it not be possible to run Windows 10 iot on a Pi and then have the same setup.

Then it should just be matter of how to get it to communicate.

Maybe I'm way off here. Smiley

Just a thought.

There are numerous reasons but if it were possible, don't you think everyone here would be using Pis by now?
Wow.

Ofcourse use a PSU and then use something like this:

And then skip the small part that should be used in a motherboard. I guess that is only for communication.

Hi.

Can you GPU mining with RPi?
I know it doesn't have a GPU, but can you convert USB to PCIe or something
And is there any software for RPi to handle this?

Hej.

Hi.

I see alot of different hardware to mine AltCoins, but what kind of hardware goes to what?

Could it be possible to create a list of hardware of what you use for mining AltCoins?
