Bitmain send/ships me a used, dusty, old, and broken miners.  I ordered an Antminer S1,  it arrived DOA yesterday.  The boards have a 2013-12-01 date stamp on them. I removed the fan and it has more dust than my vacuum cleaner...
Sure he is seeking his old crap that is clear from day one. Are you surprised?
I am not. This stuff is mining for mounts and you are still buying overpriced because there is small light in then end of the tunnel thayou may roi eventualy

When i purchase, the photo look spanking new.  Never did it mention the words "used, old, or previously owned."  But then again, it never say new.  Guess live and learn...
Excuse me I did not see that you are new here. Read other threads firsts. And you got lucky choosing bitman without irony

Hi BitMain,

I think I received an defective AntMiner S1, order # 00120140119115357875yd15x6b80688.  This is the second one i ordered last week, 2014-01-19, and received it today, 2014-01-24.  The previous one worked flawlessly.  This second one, tried to set it up the same way I did the last one but no lights come on, nothing. Can NOT even see it on my computer as the RJ-45 port does not work.  The only thing that came on is the fan spinning.  How do i get RMA?  Thanks for your help.

69  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 22, 2014, 12:04:12 AM
this is a copy and paste from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348327.240

the instructions are available, but basically:
-SSH in using port 22, u/p is root/root
- 'vi /etc/config/asic-freq' enters the editor for the file
- 'i' key enters edit mode - go ahead and make the changes
-'ESC' returns to view mode
- ':wq!' writes the file and quits the editor
-reboot

Talking about BFL, anyone seen the BFL's new year special pricing?  Just got the e-mail.  The link is here http://www.butterflylabs.com/newsletters/happynewyear/
600 GH Bitcoin Mining Card
The Monarch BPU 600 C
$2,100.00

Do they need bail money when they are selling it this cheap?  Grin

"Orders are shipped in order date priority so any order placed now should be expected to be delivered in February."

So 13k would buy you 3.6TH with delivery in February. If only it were true  Cry

BLF's prices are lower than the Neptune but I still won't buy from BFL.  Looks like existing BFL customers get screwed again

Is it normal for the blue ASIC power supply clip (white clip from PSU to blue cable) to get hot? The other cables aren't really hot or hot at all, but this clip is quite warm although I can still hold onto it for a while without having to remove my fingers due to the heat?

ack probably not..i'm just guessing others?  you could just run the cable directly from power supply and bypass that blue cable right? see if that helps...assumine it is long enough...
if i remember right just elimitate it from the chain of cable?

again just guessing here as a hedge others on here should know more

It should be very slightly warm but not hot.  I didn't know this and my 2 boards in jupiter burned.  The power cable caught fire. See my posts here regarding this experience http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/25643-november-batch-jupiter-on-fire

How warm are we talking though? I think maybe I should try my other PSU?

Just my experience with my jupiter,  if the cables feel warn especially on the connectors, then keep an eye on it.  I feel the cables ever few hours when at home.  If you smell anything like a burnt smell check the cables on both the connectors and the PSU.  My smoke detector didn't go off when it caught fire.  Just can't be too careful.  Good luck.

Cgminer 3.8.1 but the windows bar says cgminer 3.2.2?  The Eligius user ID is " SCPP6437" if I am reading it correctly.  I don't know how to but can someone look up that user id?  thanks

Today, 12/26/2013, I received the following e-mail.  This e-mail was a result of me placing an order a week and 1/2 ago.  I ordered an 80 gh/s (80 GH/s Coin Miner $1,545)  hoping to pay via credit card as their site clearly stated that they accept CC on the 2 smaller units.  After a week, got an e-mail saying that they can't accept CC and wanted me to paid via Bitcoins or wire transfer.  I ignored it and today, I got this.

Hi XXX and Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to follow up on the order that you placed with us. Do you
wish to proceed further with your order and choose one of the currently
available payment methods provided.
If you do, please let us know, otherwise we will place another order on
your position in the que.

Many thanks and enjoy the holidays:)

Hi Dr.  I am having difficulties connecting my 2 KnC miners to your pool.  I am getting the "Connect to CGMiner API failed."  It only started yesterday after a reboot.  I was mining fine for a month before.  What is going on?  Thanks for your help.  I have been using the same setting and it worked before.  they are as follows

mint.bitminter.com:3333
MyUserId.workerName

NVM, solved the problem.

Upgrading to the latest firmware (99.1-tune), both the October & November boxes initially increased about 10-15 gh/s.  Initially it did not work on BitMinter.  I got the "connecting to cgminer api fail."  So, i switch to Eligius and my hash rate increased.  After about 30 minutes, it's slowly dropping to the way was before the update.
