61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Blocknet moved 72% the past week. Will it continue? on: January 30, 2020, 01:49:32 AM
I'm curious, are you, GucciBoy and Flux0z the same person?

You all seem to post in each others threads shilling Blocknet.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Investing in Alts instead of Bitcoin for far greater returns (or losses) on: January 26, 2020, 07:02:16 PM
your decision is good and brave, I myself also hold altcoin top coinmarketcap which has cheap prices such as, xrp, bat, eos, xlm because altcoin top coinmarketcap will not die unlike shitcoin which every day trading volume decreases and finally shitcoin die

You and I are on the same page Smiley   I too only invested in top Alts from the top 13 at CMC with real use cases such as ETH,BNB,TRX,EOS and ADA.

It's an old one but EthereumDark:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2106405.0

I did okay, made over $10K AUD from a $300 investment but a lot of folk lost a lot of money, the "Dev" made a fortune.

It's highly likely he was involved in more scam projects afterwards

I think you are just a normal peep who wanted to make macimum profit from your Crypto. I guess we really need to learn how to take and manage the risk in investing our money in Crypto. What we need to do is to enhance our skills on trading so that we will have an alternative way of producing more profit while waiting.

you pretty much nailed it on the head Smiley

I'm not interested in taking small profits, I'd rather take the risk of huge profits or losses but that's just me Smiley
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now the right time to buy altcoin? on: January 24, 2020, 01:47:57 AM
I stumbled across an article earlier about how altcoins are following the trends of the early Bitcoin days. The charts look identical to 2011-2012 Bitcoin. This is huge if this trend continues. This would mean we're basically buying altcoins at around the $30 Bitcoin equivalent today. I wish I could find the article again. It was somewhere on Google news. Definitely worth a read if one of you stumbles across it.

I saw this article, I think you mean this:

Though altcoins are not showing improvement somehow the current state is a good timing to invest since majority of alts are declining.

Its always good to diversify your investment so if the other didnt turn out well you have another to turn on to. This year bitcoin is quite popular due to halving so some of us chose btc over alts.

I've only invested in top Alts, ETH,BNB,EOS,TRX and ADA at the moment as I think they all have the potential to bring decent returns in the mid term Smiley
Well its a good choice but did you conduct a research before investing in these coins? Having your own understanding in each coin is important to have an idea on how these coins will perform in the coming days. The good thing about well established coins are you dont have to worry that it will lose value or be delisted in exchanges since it has a purpose and use cases unlike new coins that popping nowadays.

I did indeed do my research on the coins I invested in Smiley

The criteria I looked at were total supply, market cap, trading volume, roadmap and past and future development as well as any potential drama such as the problems plaguing BSV and craig wright.

I never have and never will invested in any of the BTC hard forks.

I also looked at price movement in the last 12 months and by how much of a percentage the various Alts had gone up or down.

For example, Ada, EOS and tron have slowly gone up in the last 3 months whereas ETH and BNB have gone down by a small amount.

Thanks for everybody's input, It's been interesting reading everyone's opinions  Smiley

I figure that due to the fact that all Alt's have a far lower market cap than Bitcoin it will take a far smaller amount of newly invested money to drive prices up by a far higher percentage.

All coins in my portfolio are in the green today so I'm hopeful I made the right choice  Smiley

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Investing in Alts instead of Bitcoin for far greater returns (or losses) on: January 21, 2020, 08:01:14 AM
At the risk of going against what most Crypto investors suggest, I've decided to keep the majority of my portfolio consisting of projects from the top 20 Alts (apart from BSV and BCH which are shitcoins) working on the assumption that many of them are down by a far greater percentage in the last few years than bitcoin which has actually gone up Smiley

I'm well aware its a gamble but I'm prepared to run the risk of either making insanely large profits or losing my $2K investment especially after watching the markets the last few days, Alt prices have gone up and down faster than a hookers knickers  Grin

Your thoughts peeps? am I stupid, brave, a pathological gambler or a combination of the the three?
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will there be an altseason this year? on: January 17, 2020, 04:51:45 AM
one thing I've noticed over the last few days is the prices of Alts are going up far more than the price of BTC.

Bitcoin cash and BSV don't count as they're both P+D shitcoins  Grin
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BSV Supporters! Let's all Unite! Let's all educate newbies. on: January 16, 2020, 06:45:36 AM
Craig Wright is a lying deceitful twat, I genuinely feel sorry for anyone that bought at the peak of yesterdays pump  Angry

Personally I have never bought any of the BTC forks and never will, they're pure P+D coins, nothing more.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on my portfolio please on: January 14, 2020, 07:48:29 PM
basically a nice combination.
From the point of view of the allocation I would try to rearrange so that BTC comes in position 1.
would hold 30-40% in BTC and divide the rest proportionally. this as a first approach to the whole.
a portfolio that is currently only 15% in the red is a good portfolio. there are other examples. Cheesy

yesterday morning I traded a few coins and while BTC is currently only 15% of my portfolio, the Alts I hold have done very well Smiley

Up 13% overall, $250 AUD profit in 24 hours Smiley

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on my portfolio please on: January 13, 2020, 07:12:33 PM
Thanks again for everyones input Smiley

My portfolio now consists of these 6 coins in descending order of percentage I'm holding:

BTC
ETH
BNB
ADA
EOS
TRON
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on my portfolio please on: January 13, 2020, 03:27:48 AM
without specification on every coin, i believe that you did a good work
i'd change few coins but its only a matter of opinion..
now what are you going to do in the future if one of them pumps?
also a good thing to have strategy for htat

I wouldn't hesitate to sell any of them if they increased significantly but I'm looking at holding most of them for at least 6-12 months or until Alt season well and truly arrives Smiley
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on my portfolio please on: January 12, 2020, 07:54:07 AM
Well, long term investment is good. but if you can afford it. a few months ago you bought crypto. and today it has fallen 15%. I think not to open a portfolio is a good thing. because if you see an asset that has fallen, it will only create panic. leave for some time. do other work and open when crypto has improved.

I'm not overly concerned with a 15% loss, I watched (with horror tbh) when every coin tanked around August last year so I'm aware that it's all a volatile market, the money I've invested is from work related bonuses so it's income I wasn't guaranteed to earn so effectively play money.

The way I see it is I'll either make a substantial profit or lose most of it Smiley
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on my portfolio please on: January 12, 2020, 07:48:03 AM
you have already a good set of currency but i think you should sell that NPXS and replace by good altcoins like Litecoin(LTC) or even RIpple(XRP)
because i don't see good future on that project and may end up becoming a shitcoin in future so replacing with good and reputed coins will be much better than to expect on that one.

I agree a great set of currency but I would also add Canyacoin CAN, which trades on binance dex.

I'll give Canyacoin a miss as I made the mistake of investing in Horizon state token (HST) like you and we know how that ended  Wink

I'm really curious as to why you have GAS but no Neo, as the two go together. You need GAS to send Neo, so the more active Neo is in terms of transaction, the more GAS is needed.

I had 15 Neo but sold them recently for a reasonable profit, I hung onto the GAS as I bought it at a higher price and was hoping it would go up again.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on my portfolio please on: January 11, 2020, 08:22:03 PM
Thank you everyone for your input, I'll swap the NPXS and GAS for BTC for now Smiley
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on my portfolio please on: January 11, 2020, 10:36:47 AM
I'm fairly confident EOS and BNB will do well, just not sure about ETH.

NPXS and GAS are a gamble I'm hoping will pay off considering how much they've dropped since their ATH

I'm not shilling btw, just looking for input from seasoned traders! Smiley

I bought most of my holdings in the last few months and while I'm down about 15% I think I made a sound long term investment, any suggestions on whether I made a good choice? Smiley
