I think it would be a very good feature if there was a UBIC oracle that could be used by other project and not only other UBI projects.

Often people think of automation as something that will lead to UBI. I believe the opposite, once UBI gets implemented it will lead to massive automation.
The ancient greeks built simple steam machines but saw them as toys, not tools because they had access to a very cheap labor through the use of slaves.
If a UBI was implemeted people would probably turn away from low payed BS jobs and it would become economically viable to automate these jobs.

Perhaps EOS will also distribute a cryptoUBI. Very exciting.

I fixed it. I also upgraded the node.

So the feedback I got was that most people don't understand it, a lot of people are also afraid about scanning the NFC chip of their passport.

Unfortunately it didn't gained as much attention as I hoped for. Probably it is something too new for people to fully understand how it works and so they are distrustful.
I guess the best thing would be to organize an airdrop so people would download the app to get an address.

It is still experimental but it does the basic stuff: registering a passport for UBI, receiving transaction and sending transaction

Sad news, there was no mention of new NFC functionalities in iOS 12 at the keynote.

My thougths today:
 - The development of a thin/lightweight client should be considered
 - There could be a new unit called UBI day. This unit would be the amount of UBI a recipient received during the last 24 hours.
   I think that this unit makes it much easier to represent value. You would have prices like coffee: 1 UBI day, piece of cake: 2 UBI days... and so on.

@ubicorn will there be a testnet, and if yes when?

Apparently with iOS 12 the iPhone's NFC capabilities will not be limited to NDEF Tags anymore. This is a very good news and if it is true it means that iPhones will become able to read the passport NFC chip.
