Hello Radium Community.

I'm DavinciJ15 I´m developing Pandora´s Wallet and I am planning on adding Radium to our wallet and test out the send and receive.

Can you please contribute a small amount to get the testing running.
Radium Address: XmjC48ufF3qaBLS1KySxobU6b1KRKYzp2F

Thanks for the help.

Hi DavinciJ15,

Excellent, thank you!

Sure no problem, we've sent you some RADS.

I have created some buy orders and sell orders for RADS on BISQ
Awesome!  BISQ is very underappreciated.

Hi

I have been doing some research on upcoming coins and Radium hit my radar. I would like to do both staking and purchase. However when it comes to staking the wallet is not actively syncing. I had my system on (running on a Mac) thinking the syncing process would be completed by now, but it hasn't even started. Just frozen on 'synchronizing with network)'.

Any ideas why this is?

Thanks

Hi welcome,

Maybe you're not finding peers.  Here's a link to the basic setup guide which has a section about adding peers.  It also has a section about installing the bootstrap (2nd to last page) which speeds up the process to synchronize your client:

RADS has been keeping development consistency since its inception and that's not common for the majority of coin in the top 100 marketcap.

It will certainly gain value overtime because you can't find a better staking project out there.

Maybe it's a fact that we already know. I think RADS will return to its peak if the team can develop something special and unique. For now, most investors will try new challenges before returning here.

Unfortunately you make a fair point.  It's all about the next best thing isn't it, even if that next best thing turns out to be smoke and mirrors.  Just like most ICOs during the 2017 boom and bust that followed.  Now we see the IEO hype which wil probably pass as well.  Radium will still be here but in the meantime we have to sweat it out and keep building and perhaps reinvent ourselves a bit as well and that's exactly what the team has been doing and there's quite some new stuff in the pipeline.

With a max supply of only 9 million coins, I want to accumulate as many Rads as possible and stake with them.  Investing in the future because the price is cheap atm.  There's a lot of potential for real growth once the ZeroClient gets officially released and people start to use the tech in the real world.

Coinmarketcap now shows the correct number of Radium circulating and total supply.  There was a problem before as some community members noticed, it has been fixed now.

I absolutely love the spread fees protocol.  It helps to level the playing field for smaller stakers which is great.

CLAMS will be Polo delist?
No I didn't say that, at this point Polo didn't make any announcement of a Clams delist.  There might be less riskier options out there though so it all depends on someone's risk tolerance.

Like someone said earlier, Polo is probably not all too happy about what just happened in Clams. Many people in the Cryptospace were aware about this massive spoof buy wall that was going on in Clams.  And the SEC is watching USA exchanges closely, regulations seem to be on the horizon and Polo is pretty nervous about it as shown in their recent blog post:

Any real developments going on , or is a gui for a hardwarestaker all you got ?
Thought the dev finished his PHD and is ready for some developments now.

Hello,

I love to stake RADS and I would like to set a maximum amount of connections to the network.
How can i do that?

1 outgoing connection is already OK for staking. Look what the main RADS dev Justin (JJ12880) answered about this previously:

Quote
In order for the wallet to work correctly, it needs to have a MINIMUM of one connection. A wallet can work perfectly fine, using only one high quality connection to the network. It is desired that a wallet have more than one connection in case your one connection is of low quality. A total of three to five connections is more than enough for the wallet to work correctly.

But arnt more connections better?
Well, it CAN be, in terms of the health of the entire network, however after 3-5 connections there really is little improvement in wallet function. Each connection requires resources to maintain, and the more connections you have the harder your computer will need to work in order to communicate with all the other nodes. Once your wallet has a stable connection to the network, more connections will not increase the speed or improve staking.

I have 16, BUT I WANT MORRRR!
Well, then, be patient. First, connections require more CPU power for the connected wallets. There are two types of connections used by the wallet, outgoing and incoming. An outgoing is established when your wallet reaches out and initiates a connection to another node. An incoming connection occurs when someone else connects to you. There is a hard coded limit of 16 outgoing connections, so that your wallet does not create more work for more nodes than necessary. To help new wallets gain connections even if your already have 16, the incoming connection default limit is set at 125. This means your wallet can not ask for more than 16 connections, but it can accept more connections from other nodes with low connection counts. In summary, only way to get more than 16 connections is to have your wallet open for a long period of time and allow other new nodes to connect to you.

More info about staking you can find on our website - https://radiumcore.org/staking/

Thank you, I already found out that adding a file named radium.conf with the parameter "maxconnections" into the Radium directory can limit the number of connections.
Previously, I got more than 60 connections consuming up to 3 GB of data per day (not an issue at all) but after a period wihout any single stake I tried reducing the amount of connections.
I should get a stake every few hours, but the last one is more than 5 days old.
Am I doing something wrong? How can I check, that everything is allright? The wallet is synced, staking is active and there are 14-18 active connections.

Thank you!

How many orphans do you get lately? (lost blocks)

Are you running the latest version of the Core client? version 1.5.1.0

I like to have as many connections as possible on my node, at least the maximum of 16 outgoing connections if possible because I want to propagate to as many other nodes as possible when I found a block.

Can't argue the logic here. Our value in terms of dollars is for the most part at the mercy of the market makers. However, our purpose as a utility asset is to deliver quality and sound services. And while we do support the "sound money" and "investment via staking" use cases, our duty is ultimately to continue delivering functional systems on the cutting edge of blockchain tech. We cannot guarantee we'll ever see those numbers again, but I can assure you that we will be here to find out. We've already been here for over 4 years and we'll continue pressing forward with the same unrelenting vigor with which we began.
Well said good sir!

I really like the reward calculator on there. Pretty handy and easy to use tool!

First of all we want to thank the entities that have been donating lately, your support will play a crucial role in what's coming! Although the team works every day pushing on all fronts, even during weekends and on Sundays and for free, we do need money as well to make the magic happen. That's how the real world works unfortunately.

We will be rolling out a marketing and communication strategy in the near future which will benefit all Radium holders (small and big). Now is probably one of the best times in Radium's history to help fund the project. If you have the spare money, pls donate, don't let others do the dirty work, every bit helps. The more funds we have to work with, the better we can grow this baby to make it big and strong, which is where Radium (RADS) deserves to be.

Thank you very much indeed!

With bitcoin going sideways what more can you ask for? A coin that goes sideways but gives you POS/coins every day. Works for me...
Cool

Gives me the opportunity to explain Radium's dynamic fee reward which is unique and more fair, a lot of people are probably not aware of it:

With the spread fee protocol, fees are awarded back to the stakers slowly, over the subsequent 1440 blocks rather than all at once, ensuring that no one powerful staker can capture all the rewards. Most blocks that are staked will have a reward slightly higher than the stated block reward, which is a result of this protocol. The more the network is used, and as more transactions are sent, the extra rewards from spread fees will increase proportionally.

Staking with the Radium client is a smooth and pleasant experience and it helps secure the network.

@SteamboatG  So are you from Radium team? I can imagine that MN could support distributed Zero Client interface Smiley

After working with these passionate and talented people for more than 6 months now, I think it's ok for me to say that I'm a member of the team indeed.  I tend to look at the bigger picture and help develop strategies regarding Radium's growth potential and the health of the project in general.

On that subject I might add that we're efficient and pretty bear market resilient by now and the project is in good shape.  We're here to stay.

I consider SteamboatG a member of the team!

Hey everyone,

I'm part of the Radium Core team and just wanted to let you guys know that the Crex24 exchange charges about 0.3 BTC to list a coin which is not much.  At least this way Riecoin will have a presence again on Coinmarketcap as well which is important.

You need to have a dev team though or they might delist you again so my suggestion is to form a small group of dedicated ethical people that want to revive the coin and don't disapear after a short while.

I hold a bit of Riecoin myself and I still run the client on my node to support the network.

Good luck guys, don't give up, organize and revive the coin! Wink

Radium brings advanced blockchain utilities. Should it implement masternodes, maybe? This could help to reinforce Radium blockchain backbone.

The problem with master nodes is that it makes the rich richer.  The current Radium model is fair for everyone imo.

This problem is actual for pure POS too. There is no much difference beetween NM reward and stake reward. But masternodes could bear additional functionality.

Most MN offer some sort of perk(s) though. I agree that they can potentially offer additional functionality, but they might also discourage new smaller stakers to enter the network.

MNs get some percent from block reward, but MNs collaterals are removed from staking so staking profitability increases. Network finds balance beetween MN and staking.

I'm not an expert on MN myself (yet) so I opened a discussion in the team about them.
