Welp, time to feed all the starving children of Africa!
Seriously though, this industry has long been needing some more transparency. Most people do not even see, what happens to their donations, whether they reach the intended people or somehow end up in the pockets of the fund's management.
Yeah, this seems to be the whole point of the project. The dev team approached this very responsibly. From this thread, I get, that there's going to be some way to track donations.

I don't completely understand, there will be fixed amount of tokens for sale and what about mining? there will be unlimited emission?
The company will issue additional tokens after the ICO, in strict correlation to the actual amount of funds raised on the platform. The platform's smart contract will grant additional issues of tokens in limited tranches, 1 billion tokens each and what will with the used tokens be? I mean after exchanging my tokens for benefits All tokens exchanged for benefits from e-commerce partners on the platform will be taken out of circulation and burned, as said in whitepaper

why are you using blockchain in this project?
blockchain helps to solve the problem which is connected to the lack of transparency. more than that, transactional costs are also reducing and it's good both for charities and philanthropists. I can add that blockchain technologies can easily reduce or even remove the need for third party authorities such as long chain of banks, government agencies, law firms etc. sure. not for nothing, the cryptocurrency market is undergoing a period of rapid development and more and more investors find it interesting to place their money in these new financial instruments. the prospects are promising as well as blockchain usability in absolutely different spheres.

also wondering about the way the team's going to enter into a contract with big-shot investors and charitable foundations. like via smart-contracts or still usual ones, for instance?
|
|
|
Do you plan to involve ordinary charitable foundations to integrate your project? Will you try to attract such big philanthropists as Bill Gates, Warren Buffett for example?
It seems to me that this project is designed to unite ordinary people who want to donate their money. And large investors and other funds will connect when the project shows itself to show the transparency of theirs actions cannot but agree! to unite philanthropists and investment/charity funds on a single P2P platform in the most convenient and transparent way possible is a great and very noble idea, indeed. Been said they're planning to use some funds raised to create this type of a platform to make sure the funds are being spent exactly as intended. Guess in businesses like this it's extremely important

They say, that if you help somebody, dont scream about it on every corner. I disagree. A good deed must be heard of by everyone. When people see someone like them helping other people, they usually become more prone to charity themselves. Nothing wrong about it!
Totally agree with you. It is necessary to show others your own example how to help those who need it. I think Humancoin is one of those projects which will show how innovative technologies can be useful not only for making money, but also helping those who need it so much.

As I understand, I can pay tokens for services and goods of partner companies. Do you know which companies will participate it? Just some examples?
They seem to want to keep is secret for now. Which is perfectly logical. Cooperation with established companies is a big deal and one should not announce details of such partnerships until the project can stand on its ow two feet. I still say, its too early to talk about any partnerships at this stage. The project needs to prove the viability of the platform first, then start looking for someone to team up with. Dude... Thats exactly what I said. Not exactly. You're saying they're keeping their partners in secret, just so they wouldn't jinx it. I say they don't have any partners yet, cause it's too early to have any.

Don't you think that it's too early talk about it? First, you need to launch the platform, and only then make agreements with partners

What will be with unsold tokens?
They will be burned, it's a common thing.
|
|
|
btw, will there be a lockout for the tokens?
I only found that 50% the team's tokens will be locked for 6 months and the other 50% for 12 months.
