61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex says no more US customers? How to buy IOTA now? on: December 14, 2017, 06:51:35 AM
So Binance has IOTA withdraw suspended - does anyone know why this is?  Kind of freaks me out.

I have other cryptos with Binance now and none of these other ones have the withdraw suspended like IOTA does?
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new upcoming tokens focused on Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality? on: December 14, 2017, 03:56:23 AM
OMG I'M GOING TO GO CRAZY WITH THIS!!!!

Lucyd looks very interesting.

I haven't checked out voxel, but that's next.  But an in-VR currency sounds like it has a lot of potential for sure.

Probably in on Spectiv for sure too, need to finish their white paper first.  But seems everyone is in consensus that it's a great token.

I'm going to check out Lampix, I really like the interface, but not so much the lamp application.  I get why they chose that, I would like to see them make some type of nice smart hub for the ceiling so it can project down on a particular area and not have the clutter of the lamp.  It's a nice lamp for sure, so high remarks on that.  I just don't think that is for me.  But the tech behind it is great and I imagine they will continue to develop this platform & products further.

I should also add that I think gesture control for full virtual spatial interaction within The Matrix is going to be huge.

Thinks like the Myo Armband, Perception Neuron, VRGluv, Oblong Industries, they are all working on projects that compliment each other organically and when the technologies begin to overlap we will really hit a sweet spot.  Next couple of years for that I'd imagine.  They're all really advanced now.  They need to bring all of their tech together and work on one big project.

This is EXCITING to be at the ground level of all of this.  I'm not missing these opportunities like I did with bitcoin & litecoin at .06!
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new upcoming tokens focused on Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality? on: December 13, 2017, 09:37:22 PM
Yup but only one I know of right now and that is Spectiv, there ICO launched last week I believe. Take a gander may be worth your interests.

Holy snikes batman!

OMG soooooo much research to do!  Damn, this one could be HUGE!  Can't wait to find out the tech behind it and their vision for the future.  Cause I'll go hard on this one for sure!
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best exchange to automate buy & sell trading? on: December 13, 2017, 09:18:29 PM
So with all of this volatility, there is a lot of opportunity constantly buying & selling throughout the day.

So can anyone suggest a great exchange to easily setup a buy & sell trading automation schedule?

This is all new to me, so I'm trying to learn my way here.  But I know this is the type of day trading I would like to get into with crypto.

Thanks.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Any new upcoming tokens focused on Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality? on: December 13, 2017, 09:14:11 PM
I'm obsessed with Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality and now that obsession also includes cryptocurrency lol.  So I might as well try to marry these two and hopefully cash in on the future.

So does anyone know of any tokens that are currently going on or are in planning phases to launch an ICO focused within the fields of Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality?

67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex says no more US customers? How to buy IOTA now? on: December 12, 2017, 09:33:49 PM
this is a sock puppet shill for iota

this question about buying iota is asked here 50 x in the last few days

1. this shill cant work out to ask this on the iota thread
2. this shill cant work out how to look on cmc
3. this shill cant work out to buy BYTEBALL which is better and 70x cheaper??

come on other sock puppets and gullible don't keep this shill thread here let it die liek the other 50 there will be another where to buy iota in 5 mins time.

Bro - you just have some serious personal issues.  I'm no shill - what I am is an idiot for not buying bitcoin when I knew about it at .06 and never looked at crypto since really.  Stayed in touch when it hit the big markets.  Shit I didn't even know what ethereum was 2 weeks ago.

I knew about CMC, but as I already mentioned I was using cryptocompare.com which may not be as good.  But relax dude, I just got serious 24 hours ago. And I have no idea what byteball is - apparently I'm too much of a newb for your guru-ness - so no need to chime in.  Give me a few more days, and a couple of weeks to do my level of research that I'm accustomed to so I can wrap my head around this like a pro.

Whatever byteball is, IOTA is going to be amazing for what it can do within an ecosystem of crypto/blockchain 3.0 (yes I know it's not even blockchain)

I'm one of the smartest guys in the room when I actually focus and pay attention.  Too bad I've been playing the class clown since bitcoin was .06 - But JOHNNY'S BACK and I see a lot of opportunity I plan to cash in on, short term & long term.

So I will apologize if I don't know as much as you do and I'm asking basic questions.  Wait, no I won't actually.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex says no more US customers? How to buy IOTA now? on: December 12, 2017, 08:51:44 PM
Hmm, that is a pretty good list of markets on there.  I am using cryptocompare.com & while I like the website, I know coinmarketcap is the main one.  I'll have to browse around it and see which one I like better.  Those two are basically the same thing right?  Even with all of the features they each offer?
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex says no more US customers? How to buy IOTA now? on: December 12, 2017, 07:56:09 PM
Yes in on IOTA!  Can't wait to stack and stack and stack IOTA, PRG, EOS!
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex says no more US customers? How to buy IOTA now? on: December 12, 2017, 06:50:30 PM
I've been waiting over an hour now for my Ethereum to transfer from coinbase to binance  Roll Eyes

I'm still trying to figure out how to setup an IOTA wallet, seems trickier than most.

IOTA is no doubt going to explode!
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex says no more US customers? How to buy IOTA now? on: December 12, 2017, 05:49:36 PM
They aren't interested in complying with all of the US rules & regulations lol

I'm on binance now and sent some ethereum to my wallet there so I can trade for some IOTA.

Thank you!
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex says no more US customers? How to buy IOTA now? on: December 12, 2017, 05:29:18 PM
Ok I'll look into that, thanks.

If anyone else knows how to buy IOTA, please let me know.

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitfinex says no more US customers? How to buy IOTA now? on: December 12, 2017, 05:12:51 PM
So I signed up on bitfinex so I coulyd buy IOTA, it seems its the only exchange that IOTA is currently listed on.

But when I verified my account I got the following message from bitfinex saying that they are no longer doing business with any US customers and I can't use their exchange.

So where else can I purchase IOTA from?  That's all I'm concerned about.

Thanks.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easiest & fastest way to purchase Ethereum with USD? on: December 12, 2017, 04:48:29 PM
Thanks for that info.  I'll look into them and try to buy some more ethereum right now since coinbase has disabled it and litecoin lol

Also, I can't seem to find the dether app in the app store on iphone?
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easiest & fastest way to purchase Ethereum with USD? on: December 12, 2017, 04:20:30 PM
By the way, you can buy ether for cash using Dether dapp. Installing the dapp on your smartphone you'll see on the map of your city people who sell ether. You can choose the right offer, meet with the seller and make a deal. Over time, Dether developers will add other coins, including bitcoin.

This sounds really awesome - I'm going to look into this now.  Thanks for that.

I'm still confused as to what ether is to Ethererum.  I realize it's the "Fuel" but I don't understand what the point of "fuel" is since bitcoin doesn't have it and I know you can purchase ether like ethereum also, but is it something that has a value that will also go up?

I jumped on coinbase.com - seems to have been the easiest/fastest way to get the ball rolling.  A few more fees upfront than some other places probably, but still very reasonable.

Coinbase is easiest but as you figured out has the highest fees. Kraken has lower fees but their interface isn't good. Bitstamp has good interface but the process isn't as quick especially if using larger amounts. All have their drawbacks but all have their perks as well. Pick your poison so to speak Roll Eyes

Good points on all of that.  I love coinbase.com & the dashboard look & feel.  I also love how fast & easy it was to purchase and feel it's worth the extra few dollars in fees.  (at least for now) I will look into others to see how they fare as I get deeper into this.  I'm currently also on hitbtc.com so I could buy paragon coin.

What is the difference between coinbase.com & hitbtc.com?  I understand hitbtc.com as a peer-peer exchange that allows me to trade for other coins.  But coinbase only allows me to purchase, so it's not an exchange?
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is it normal for ICO prices to drop once they're listed on the exchange? on: December 12, 2017, 02:55:58 PM
So it seems a lot of ICO's are running with $1 per coin during the ICO - but then dropping well below that price once they're listed on an exchange.

Is this a normal thing for an ICO at least initially while they're working on getting their project fully operational?

Are they setting the $1-$2 a coin so they can make sure they're fully funded to get the project started and on it's way vs trying to sell shares for pennies or dimes?

But why wouldn't the price of an ICO hold at what that price was?  Just because initial founders are dumping their coins to get some cash out and forcing the hand/price to go down based on supply & demand?

79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Easiest & fastest way to purchase Ethereum with USD? on: December 11, 2017, 12:18:12 PM
So I am finally diving into the world of crypto and really confused as to how to initially purchase Ethereum with US dollars?

My goal is to trade Ethereum for Paragon Coin (PRG) on hitbtc.com or Livecoin.com (currently the only 2 exchanges Paragon Coin is listed on)

Do I have to first buy Bitcoin and then trade it for Ethereum and then trade that for Paragon Coin?  Where would Ether (GAS) fall into this? Do I need to buy Ether to buy Ethereum?

So where/how do I go about quickly & easily buying ETH so I can trade it for PRG?

I would like to do a test purchase of $2 just so I understand the process before depositing any larger amounts.  But can I even buy ETH with that low amount?  Or do bank wire fees kill that deal?

Please help a NEWB navigate these weird waters.

I have created a wallet with MyEtherWallet.com & also have a ParagonCoin.com account that seems to also have generated it's own wallet address.  I have also created an account on Livecoin.com & hitbtc.com.  But I'm still totally confused how I load/deposit money onto the exchanges initially.  And I don't want to want 3-7 business days for wire or verification of some kind.

Can someone help clear up this process for me and expedite my purchase of Ethereum so I can get started trading for other cryptos?

Thanks.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Marijuana cryptos on: September 06, 2017, 12:46:22 AM
I had no idea there were so many marijuana cryptos with millions in market caps

These coins must be struggling to differentiate amongst themselves. This is the problem when there are no new ideas. But we shouldn't be complaining. Even Bitcoin has so many versions / forks these days.  Grin

I agree, what is there that would make any of them unique?

I realized even the smallest coin could land a deal tomorrow and explode overnight, but I'd also see more of a future in a particular one if one of them really had a well laid out roadmap.  Potcoin seems to be the only one to do this.

I know potcoin is based off of litecoin, and I think Dopecoin is based off bitcoin?  Can anyone confirm Dopecoin and what the others are based on, perhaps to give me one validity/future over another?

Also this is something I want to get into heavy now and hold for 3-5 years.

I was around and could have bought bitcoins for $5 and I hate myself for it lol.  I didnt even hear of Ethero or all of the other ones until a few days ago.  I knew of Bitcoin, litecoin & dogecoin last time I looked deep into cryptocurrency.  Boy has that market exploded.  But so has legal cannabis.  Everything is going to continue to be more and more digitized.

But I am also involved in the cannabis industry and easily see the adoption and future of cannabis niched, cryptocurrency.

I think the coin that can put together an app for quick & easy sign up, buy & transfer for goods in a store will be the one that explodes.  It seems potcoin has this initial platform right now, although it's not available on apple, so I can't really test how good of a platform/process it really is.
