If hmq is not divisible and the max supply is approx 920M

Then how can billions of people use it?
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: WINGS ★ Where DAO Unicorns Are Born! ★ Token launched! on: June 11, 2017, 07:44:23 PM
I have already made my first forecasting, however I still have some wings left.

Can I make another prediction using the same account?

Has this been tested during the audits?

What worries me, is that what if somehow making more than one forecast from the same account will somehow expose some unforseen bug that will prevent me from unlocking my wings after this first forecasting event

I would like to use the rest of my wings to make a higher forecasting than my previous one, but would like to hear from the devs whether or not there's a possibility that I could lose my wings if I make two forecasts to the same contract from the same account.

Thanks Smiley

I am not a fan of the way the current forecasting system is set up.  There are too many pain points that could lead to terrible outcomes.  It is really unwieldy to have to send all the WINGS you wish to forecast to a wallet they designate, then lock the wings up during the forecasting period after you forecast, and then have to send the wings back to your personal wallet (assuming you'd rather keep them in your own).  While I realize this is a very early stage process, and this could all change, there are too many points where a mistake could have catastrophic consequences, and if you want to make a lot of forecasts, the chances of a mistake increase.

Personally, I think they should do it similar to ByteBall and Stellar Lumens where you send a small amount from your personal address, and that lets them verify the number of WINGS, and they use that snapshot to allow you to forecast.  I am just very wary of sending a lot of wings on multiple occasions to an address that they designate.

Just my $.02
I believe the reasoning behind the way they are doing it is to prevent people from changing their forecasting.

So I don't have a problem with locking my wings up in a contract, especially since they have had at least three audits.

But I would like it if I was able to use my ledger nano to prevent a keylogger from stealing my funds.

Can I just buy Wings and keep it for like 1-2 years as investment? or Do I have to forecast something otherwise I will lose the coins???

You can keep it as an investment. You don't have to forecast if you don't want to.

Good to know, thanks!  But what is forecasting, is it like gambling? I can lose coins if forecast is wrong??
No, you don't lose your wings if you forecast wrong, the closer you are to forecasting correctly and the more wings you back up your forecast with the more rewards you get from the distribution.

Plus we have our prealpha release tomorrow, for our first chance to earn tokens of the bancor ICO and ETH for our forecasting abilities..  Wooo hoo!

Can you please tell how can one enter into the forecasting contest you are talking about i am interested in joining that.
I presume after the countdown is over in approx 22 hours there will be instructions  Smiley

If you think you can read whitepapers, so you can forecast on them.

If you are lazy and you don't read whitepapers, you can play behind someone smarter and less lazy than you. ( in the future, at the moment that feature isn't ready)

This is how wings will work.

In any case: you must read at the very least the WINGS whitepaper (only one in your life! you can do it!)

Once you read you are ready, you get some wings tokens, you connect to wings platform, and you forecast.

If you do a good job, you earn free tokens from the project you forecasted for.

The payout depends.

Let's take Bancor as first example:

there are say 250k euro bounty.

If all the people does a very bad forecast, and you do a very good one alone, you will get the most of those 250k.

More or less.

Man, all your generic answers are just common sense if I invested in wings...
You answered none of my questions while doing a fine job of looking like an idiot.

Mr ease, he actually seems to understand how it works much better than you.

You don't mine wings by owning wings, read the white paper.

Wow! Just heard delloitte is hiring erc20devs for collaration with wingsdao!

Of course I read it on the liqui  exchange troll box.

Supposedly there's a tweet about it somewhere. If there's any truth to that...

This baby bird is going to fly!

As if bancor partnering with us along with coindash, daoact, and  blocklog icos wasn't enough! Now delloitte!

Hell ya!!!

Plus we have our prealpha release tomorrow, for our first chance to earn tokens of the bancor ICO and ETH for our forecasting abilities..  Wooo hoo!

Up to 250k worth of BNT and ETH to be divided between wings token holders based upon how good you are at forecasting and how many wings you have using some mathematical formula.

I'm looking forward to future releases when we have many more features.   Exciting time...

I haven't been this excited since the early days of ethereum!

Things are getting more exciting as 2 projects are slated to have their ICOs being forecast on Wings platform. Come to think of it $250,000 worth is so  attractive . But it needs to be an expert and luck.
There are three that I know of... Bancor, Daoact, and Coindash.

Were off to a great start!

I can't wait to start earning/accumulating tokens from multiple projects.

By the way, just noticed that wingsdao launches the first forecasting event in two days!

The countdown is on!!

I am as excited as you!!!  Grin
Then you must be excited as f**k!

Get ready to say to your Boss at work: F$CK you I have Wings and I'll fly away

It's already planned lol Wink

What are the differences between wings and Aragon network?

Sent some wings from liqui to mew, but coins are not showing up. Any idess why?
73  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo segwit mining USA/DE 229 blocks solved! on: March 30, 2017, 01:20:13 PM
I'd like to see a hybrid solomining pool, where you get your fee for running the pool, the block finder gets 50% and the rest is distributed to the other miners.

Im with P2P on that, 50% to block finder and distribute rest, plus your .5% plus the usual donation from block finder lol.
If you put half your hashrate in a solo pool and half in a pplns pool then over the (very) long term you achieve the same thing and I suspect the vast majority of miners wouldn't want that scheme you're requesting (though I could be wrong.)
true, but the pool you're talking about making is pplns with coinbase payouts, which I really like, but I also like solomining.

The only pool I know of that gives an extra reward to the block finder is p2pool which also pays via coinbase transactions but the block reward is only 0.5%

After sleeping on it a bit I'm now thinking that I would like to recommend the hybrid pool I mentioned but with the block finder receiving 10% rather than 50%

No other pool offers this so it would stand out amongst the other pools.

Also, for those of us who like to rent hashpower to solomine, it would reduce our variance quite a bit and let us stay in the game longer during periods of bad luck.

It'd be similar to the solo groups that have been popular on this site periodically over the last couple of years.

I could see someone with a low hashrate who would rather have a little of something rather than a lot of nothing but who wouldn't mind earning on average ten percent less than they would on a traditional pplns pool with the excitement of knowing that if they find the block they'd recieve a really fun payout.

Personally I think it's a great idea and would love to see it made Smiley

The tricky part would be that the block finder should get ten percent on top of pplns shares. That way if the block finder had 90% of the hashrate it wouldn't be fair if he only got 10% of the rewards.
74  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo segwit mining USA/DE 229 blocks solved! on: March 30, 2017, 01:36:35 AM
If -- no WHEN I solve a block, will the good news appear in my stats at http://solo.ckpool.org/users/? Other than monitoring cgminer, is there anyway to know that I hit the jackpot? Or do 12.5 BTC just magically appear in my wallet?
The money will magically appear in your wallet before any other notification since you get it as soon as it's solved directly to your wallet address.

I wonder if there'd be a demand for a no-frills pool like this one for regular miners that does ordinary PPLNS payments? There seems to be little demand for new pools these days but perhaps there is a need for something people can set and forget like this solo pool that will take miners of any size and create coinbase payments like the solo pool does with a baseline ckpool code fee like 0.5%. I'd rather not take any hashrate away from the existing small pools but perhaps it might encourage more people to not automatically choose large pools if they have small hashrates, and might go some more way towards helping activate bitcoin core changes. What do miners think?
I'd like to see a hybrid solomining pool, where you get your fee for running the pool, the block finder gets 50% and the rest is distributed to the other miners.

Perhaps one official p2pool.org node in Europe to reduce latency bring new miners  Wink
Use any nearest node from the list: http://poolnode.info/
There all nodes official  Wink

Hahahaha
For example if you mine at this node http://45.32.185.195:9332/static/ ( from  http://poolnode.info/ ) you only loose time and money  Grin
why do you believe that to be true?

 Because it's a parallel p2pool share chain ( p2pool version 13 )
looks good to me, and the only miner on that node is receiving payments from the blocks p2pool finds.

why do you believe that to be true? I don't see any reason why mining on that node would guarantee that you would be losing time and money. And the fees are 0℅

I do translation for the Russian-speaking forums. I do not understand this paragraph:
3) Your address must be the one that finds the next block starting now. Contest ends once the next block is found from the timing of this post.
That is the address of the participant should find a block? Or enough to participate in the block search?
would it help if I changed it to, "reward will go to the blockfinder"?
79  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: February 26, 2017, 08:57:57 PM
For your convenience (yes, it is compatible): https://github.com/veqtrus/p2pool/tree/segwit1%2Bempty_block_fix1
Thanks.

Not being familiar with CLI I wouldn't have the first clue how to add the patch  Undecided
Now it's easy to do:
Code:
git clone -b segwit1+empty_block_fix1 https://github.com/veqtrus/p2pool.git
I assume a p2pool restart is needed afterwards?
Has anyone found a block with this patch installed to verify it works as intended?

I have approximately 12 hours left on my 4PH rental. My goal is to find five blocks in a row, I've got three down and two to go!

If we get lucky I'll be renting some more, i wish a few other big ballers would come along right now, or a few hundred smaller miners!

I would love to see p2pool have a larger presence.

Come on fellow miners, switch to p2pool right now, I'd love to stay for a while, and could use some help in reducing variance in hopes I can stay a while longer!

I have an idea, if your reading this post and you are inspired to give p2pool a chance for few days, leave a response here that you are in. Hopefully if enough new people to p2pool make a post that there going to give p2pool a shot it will get the ball rolling and many others will join!

P2pool is the best way to decentralize Bitcoin mining, so if your a miner and you want to do your part leave a post below stating that your giving it a try.

Thanks and best wishes to you all!
