Wanted to give you all a quick update on the upcoming Dogecoin Core 1.10 release. Dogecoin Core 1.10 (don't ask about 1.9, it went badly, there will be a postmortem later) will bring Dogecoin up to date with the features of Bitcoin Core 0.11, as well as being a huge architectural clean up. We've started again from scratch from Bitcoin Core 0.11 and rebuilt Dogecoin around that client, rather than gluing updates into the existing codebase, resulting in much cleaner code. For the technical, there code in Github is now alpha quality, full details on reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoindev/comments/3fia1p/dogecoin_core_110_alpha_1/For everyone else, a beta should be out later this month, and we'll have a clearer release schedule from there. Thanks for the updates. Look forward to seeing the new doge client available later this month.

multidoge took 2 hours to load blockchain of one month (from february 2015 to march 2015). An electrum wallet takes only 10-15 seconds. That's why I wanted a light(er) version. It seems I will stick with multidoge. By the way where is the path of the blockchain on windows 7 for multidoge?
thanks
Had forgotten how long it's been since an update with new checkpoints went out, that is a long sync for an SPV client. A replacement is on its way, but I'll see if we can get an interim update out for now. Try %AppData%\MultiDoge\multidoge.spvchain for the blockchain file - don't have time right now to double check with the code, but that should be it. Hi dev, May I know what is the exact format of the file 'multidoge.checkpoints'? I thought it should be ProtocolBuffer but it gave me error when I tried to open it to add the latest checkpoints by myself.

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same kind of fork. I'm talking about the two valid branches both running 0.10.2.2 code. Yesterday I had this reproduced with one machine at 0.10.2.2 Macintosh and the other 0.10.2.2 Windows. Today I added another copy on the Windows machine (running as another user). This way I have exactly the same code running on the exactly same hardware, the only difference are directories with the data and port numbers for the network traffic. The fork starts after block 641334, the first different block is 641335. C:\>litecoin-cli.exe -rpcport=19332 getblockhash 641334 745c3628a41b53b115add71ca304e0c3711447635a113a735b9d3c0357fb5ee9
C:\>litecoin-cli.exe -rpcport=1 getblockhash 641334 745c3628a41b53b115add71ca304e0c3711447635a113a735b9d3c0357fb5ee9
C:\>litecoin-cli.exe -rpcport=19332 getblockhash 641335 87dead3220e76a9b9a0422904bd17f3d3727236e4dbaf12d01f7ea186c7fd669
C:\>litecoin-cli.exe -rpcport=1 getblockhash 641335 2c90e25ac93447ab179f5dccd4ac776d79cb924048927bdfdad250eb012ad91a
Those aren't trivial short forks, they are several hundred blocks long C:\>litecoin-cli.exe -rpcport=19332 getblockcount 641756
C:\>litecoin-cli.exe -rpcport=1 getblockcount 641435
although the comparison above isn't completely fair, because I was starting and stopping those tasks as well as opening and closing respective network ports in the firewall (external to Windows). Can someone with an account at litecointalk.org repost this message there and ask for the comments from the developers? My thinking is that if somebody managed to split the testnet that far there maybe a bug lurking in the code that could be used to split the mainnet. Ahh ok thanks, I've passed the word on to the devs. Any update about it? I'm still worried how this kind of fork can exist.

Hey Litecoin fans. Can someone direct me as to how to fix my wallet please? I would be very appreciative. I sent a few transactions about a month ago that never went through and never were confirmed. The transactions are listed in my wallet and the balance reflects that the LTC was moved out, but ultimately it never arrived where I sent it and was never confirmed even once. Everything is fully synced as well so I'm not sure what to do about it.
Litecoin has fans? aren't we all here for the pump? Yes, believe it or not, Litecoin does have fans. But I do hope the price to be lower so that I can buy more.

Anyone having withdrawal issues on Cryptsy?
No problem here. Sometimes withdraws from Cryptsy may be a bit late but they always arrive.

When will the the 6th giveaway be?
From what I can read here, the dev team probably just wants to hold the coins (80k) for an unknown long period of time. And even after that, they will still have 300k coins undistributed. So it will take years (at least) to complete the distribution with the current pace.

There have only been 17 posts in this thread in the last 3 weeks. That's a bad sign that people might be losing interest. This thread used to be really popular.
The community moved to reddit long time ago. The number of /r/dogecoin subscribers actually increased lately to 90,221. Yes, that's why those fudders prefer to post here or on Twitter to fool shibes to move to their shit coins. They clearly know they will get severely downvoted if they post on Reddit instead.

Thanks for the positive encouragement guys/gals.
Nothing too serious, but it is important, so I need to get it out of the way before I can devote more development time back into PMP. Although direct development is currently pending for the time being, indirect development is still continuing. What do I mean by that? Well, because I work in the web development field, I'm picking up new skills and techniques which can be directly transferable to PMP, and the platform that is in planned development for it, so it all ties in neatly together. So some of the things I'm doing now will be able to directly translate to what's in store for PMP. Which in the end will make for a much better platform.
Distribution has never been an issue for me, and despite the current situation, I can still perform mass coin distributions, thanks to the distribution script. We're getting close to the end of this particular distribution phase, however, so the dev team and I will need to discuss the next phase.
So when's the final distribution and after that will there be any distribution at all? Finally there is an update. Thanks.
So when will you perform the distribution? It's better distributing coins widely to secure the network than just keeping the coins idle.
There are already enough coins distributed to secure the network. Well, yes and no. There'll be no more distributions in their current form, but that doesn't negate their possibly being entirely new methods of distribution in the future. There's one distribution left in its current form, but no solid date on that as of yet. May I know when will you perform the one distribution left then? Don't see any reason why dev team has to keep the coins undistributed and hold them for so long.

should i buy some doge? FOR PROFIT ? Not sure if its beneficial now though You will only make profits if you can buy low and sell high. I think the doge price is relatively low now. But you take your own risk. Always don't buy more than you can afford to lose. Good luck shibe.

Could anyone give me an idea of how many LTC I need in order to have free transactions daily? Medium aged coins are still charging me and they ages so slow since I really don't have that much. Just trying to clean up some micro pieces. Thanks
In addition to the coin age, it also depends on the total size of each transaction you are going to make. Assuming a simple transaction (2 inputs and 1 output) and around 580 blocks per day, you should need around 0.41 LTC as your main input to be sent together with another dust input (any amount) under the current priority rule.

Hey, I have a quick question about tx fees. If I send a multi transaction to 20 addresses, sending each of them 0.0009, I have to pay a 0.001 fee for each of the 20 addresses I am sending to. But if I send same transaction but raise it to 0.001 each, I only pay a transaction fee on the change going to a new address in my wallet. Is there a better way around this?
You can use coin control to send to multiple outputs in one single transaction. Then you'll need only to pay a tx fee depending on your total tx size.

Again, it was a ponzi scheme, it collapsed. They're not coming back. Whatever you had in there is lost. Deal with it and be wiser next time.
ahh, so it was ponzi glad i only have free mhs no investment at all Me too. The only thing I felt a bit sad was that they collapsed just before I attempted to withdraw.

Thanks, for the link He is a very polite and a very pleasant man. Someone a woman could take home to meet the parents without worrying The index between BTC and LTC he identifies is called the "Fiat Currency Exchange shuffle"; it was discovered on exchanges like BTC-E, where knowing when a commercial mining operation is depositing its' LTC or BTC (not forgetting large Fiat Currency deposits from rich investors) allows full time traders to shuffle their funds between Fiat Currency, BTC and LTC to enlarge their holdings of crypto currencies or Fiat Currency without extra investments. Maybe, it included some inside information e.g. employee at the Fiat currency Exchange would tip his mates off when a large cash deposit had come in or large BTC deposit had come in or large LTC deposit had come in. However, it is possible to spot them without inside information, if you are willing to sit on the exchange 24/7 If, it was a Fiat Currency deposit, the day traders could inflate BTC and LTC prices If, it was a BTC deposit, the day traders could deflate BTC price If, it was a LTC deposit, the day traders could deflate LTC price The added twist, was shuffling between BTC and LTC according to whether the large depositors needed to sell LTC or BTC. For a laugh, last year using the "Fiat Currency Exchange shuffle" at BTC-E, I turned a deposit of 10 Litecoins in 30 Litecoins in 2-3 weeks during my holidays off work This kind of shenanigans do not help with crypto currency development. Newbie investors need to be protected as a priority agenda. Secondly, life is full of fun stuff to do and interesting things to discover Therefore, sitting on an exchange 24/7 ain't my cup of tea and I guess the same applies for Charlie Lee Nice. Never thought that way about what deposits would inflate/deflate prices, but it sounds reasonable. Perhaps I should read the market data more closely next time I gonna trade my LTC.

Interesting cooperation! even more well-known. Wow very good news crypto is going to integrate with popular apps. It will help bring more and more new people to know about Doge.

Will mining DOGE end? or can we continue mining? Thanks.
It is currently merge-minable, which means that LTC miners mine dogecoins at the same time that they mine their primary currency (well, those who want to). It should stay that way for the foreseeable future. This is the biggest down pressure that Doge has to sustain. It's not good IMO In fact people should worry more about LTC price. The rate of LTC price drop is far more than that of Doge in recent months. If your concern is valid, it seems those LTC miners are mainly dumping their LTC instead of Doge.
