61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium In-House Exchange on: February 16, 2015, 01:12:46 AM

Good one, Guy. This is a fun way to seriously look at trading items for cryptos, which is kinda what we're doing with silver, as you did with BC already. Precious metals in particular are well-suited to trading within local chapters only (as IMZ noted yesterday, where good reliable shipping and legit product is paramount) but trading digital goods is truly borderless (other than publisher policy on geo markets and pricing). I'll keep this in mind as we piece together the website; maybe there's a place for a separate area for 'chapter-less' trades of electronic goods. The thinking continues! Good work Smiley

I've also purchased a 50 dollar gyft.com card that I will be listing in the coming days, the site says only redeemable in the u.s.  I thought that it would just give me an email confirmation code and I could sell that code same as the Xbox game codes, unfortunately it remains on my account and not as a separate transferable code.  I'm sure I will still be able to make it available to others to redeem, I just want to take some time to read the fine print and be confident in my ability to deliver once sold.

If the gyft.com site proves to be a hassle free transaction then I may have found my route to uno outside of Bitcoin, via the un ex. gyft.com does accept Bitcoin as a payment option, so I don't know how big of a demand there will be to purchase using uno instead, but if some one is interested shoot me a reply and let's see if we can streamline the listing.

Cheers
Guy

Trade-49 Experiment successful. We now have a much-improved confirmation process (with IMZ Mark gotta learn more about Txid's).

@ Guyinanutshell: Trade 50 -- the first 'Quarter' -- is up on the tracker. You get first refusal.

m

I accepted trade and sent .25 btc to your signature address,
you can send the quarter to my frozen wallet, gonna be holding for a bit!

@ Guy:

# post/PM your Uno address.

# as per cragv's advice, (you are '2nd party'), put 'Sent' in the 'Notes/Comments' cell

# yup, 'Hoover.' Our orientation here is seriously long-term. Uno will become scarcer and scarcer and scarcer and scarcer. Now, there are issues of Outside World Is Fixated on Trading-Volume -- but the problem dissipates if the coin is rising in price.

'We' -- that's the TTs here, the DVC community -- intend, in the long run, to be absolutely nothing less than a crossroads through which a major proportion of Uno flows -- 'The Mall' By making the effort to get DVC, you have purchased membership to the crypto equivalent of the Beverley Hills Country Club.

Okay, go us. Everyone please watch from the sidelines, and shout advice.

[Project Hoover? You just scored 14.45 Uno @ .0173 each. They're 199 on Cryptsy at this second.]

Guy, PM me your Uno address, and send .5 Uno to me -- my Uno address is in my signature.

m

UNO sent, Hoover like the vacuum I take it? Lol that's an interesting idea, I have no options on un ex to select sent yet as it is under active development

Cheers
Guy

(EDIT: un ex updated already, yay)

Change to Our Protocol? Watch This Space

See Trade 49

# Someone posts a trade
# Someone accepts that trade
# When the ‘1st Party’ – who put the trade up – receives their coin, they post ‘1st confirmation’ in the ‘Trade Status’ slot
# When the ‘2nd party’ – who accepted the trade – has received THEIR coin, they post ‘2nd confirmation’ in the Notes section on the right (on its left-hand side).

If this all makes sense, I guess we can re-jigger the trade-tricker itself.
(and whoever accepts this trade gets first refusal of the first ‘Quarter’ of Project Hoover).

Thus, as protocol, a trade wouldn't be complete until it has 2 confirmations

m

not sure what "first refusal of the first quarter of project hoover" is but I want in lol

Morning admin, go!

Please welcome our newest DVC holder: Guyinanutshell. TT List is up to date: http://indiamikezulu.com.au/454/list-of-trusted-traders
Bursar's Wallet contains the 482 un-issued DVC.

The Size of Trades on Un-Ex: I suggest that we slowly move to trading 'packets' of coin. For example, 'a quarter' would be the amount of Uno that you get for .25 Btc. These larger transactions -- I'm talkin' months and months down the track -- will make unimportant the clunkiness of this model. Don't think 'hobbyist stall at the market.' Think 'Renowned Players!'

Awesome I just noticed, glad to be a DVC holder, many thanks!

cheers,
Guy

Getting the Wrinkles out of Verification

Something hand-drawn? Certainly from two angles -- much much harder to fake. (Kudos to cragv, who showed how necessary this little complication is.)

EDIT: With your Bitcointalk User Name visible in the background!

Having the name in the picture is a good idea, I feel like there needs to be some sort of time stamp in the picture as well, because I don't know if those pictures where taken today, or last month. So I'm calling you out IMZ, I see your bird, and I raise you a robot!

My thought on this is that I seen IMZ's bird and copied it, showing that my picture was taken after his was posted, then added a robot, so now once IMZ re-verifies with a robot, I'll know that he has just taken the picture, and all is good.  Furthermore, IMZ can add on yet another picture of his choosing to call out the next person.

EDIT: Obviously I'm not in charge, but I think carrying over some type of identifier from 1 persons photo to the next would help to some extent, or other ideas?

EDIT: looked like my link wasn't working anymore so I took more pictures.

Here is Uno five minutes ago. His/her dad is 'Eric.' There are no fences. These birds are wild.

Nice you got one in your backyard, yet you still had to open a silhouette emu picture in order to draw it!

I have 4 oz of Ag and a NXT wallet,  Looking forward to trading some DVC!

NXT ID:
NXT-8LGU-VQWR-H97R-EYV4N

public key:
17b4d08c75cab90357bd24998ceadae28d588b29eb2f4c128a26e2e57ed67b11

On coretanium:

The fact that it exists at all helps the sentiment in the market, and burning it up on sell walls was a poorly thought out idea. Better to have a funded wallet with a strategic action plan backed by an enthusiastic community.

I'll be low key today: the National Park up the road is in flames, and the house-clearing here is wreathed in smoke.

@ Benefactor: my apologies. I missed this post:

"Core-tanium should be used AFTER a dump, not before.  Thoughts?"

My naive thought was that Core-tanium funds would be used to -- remember last December? when Uno's price was drifting down to the .5 mark? About there: that is, in a situation in which the community as a whole wants to keep the price from dropping below a clearly-understood point.

What does everyone think?
@IMZ I hope that you and your house are safe!

In giving BTC to this project, I give freely with no anticipation of receiving it back.  That being said, I had envisioned the facility working in a fashion to stabilize UNO in the event of a potato-man attack.  The community agrees to protect a floor at X and a member who is a trusted and proven trader takes action to do so.

What to do with that UNO?
-Sell it back via UNO-Ex to replenish the facility
-Sell it overtime at on an exchange after stabilization occurs to replenish the facility
-Use it as bounties to solve problems (ie Android wallet)

just my 0.002 UNO

I feel like the market is going to ebb and flow as it wants, and we should allow it to do so, but if someone decides to depress price with a heavy sell wall, then that would be a good time to take action and allow the market ebb back to the up side.

but I'm not in charge tho

Welcome our 22nd Trusted Trader, Guyinanutshell.

http://indiamikezulu.com.au/454/list-of-trusted-traders

Un-Ex rocks 'cause no one is in charge, Guy. Wanna try to get your hands on DVC?

Awesome, thank you for the TT upgrade.  Am I in charge now?

As good a time as any to tell how I got into UNO; well, feb 13th 2014 someone had to buy at the top didn't they? lol

No NXT wallet to hold DVC yet, but I will start the download and see how it goes, I hear it can be a real pain in the arse!

I'm interested in buying 2 oz silver with UNO, I live near Detroit michigan, so you can estimate shipping costs. This is my first go at trading via un ex, so any terms that go along with trade please inform me. Ty

Guy
Welcome to UNO-EX!

I can help you with that request if you would like.  To part with my precious silver, I will require you to send 19 $UNO for me to send to you 2 oz silver.  That price includes shipping to Detroit, MI, USA.

If interested, please reply and I will PM the address to which you can send the UNO. I will provide tracking for your shipment via PM.

Given the nature of UNO-EX, as I have seniority, you will send first.

Upon completion of the transaction, we agree to provide mutual positive feedback both in this forum and on the Bitcointalk trust pages.

BC

I agree to your terms, PM sent and I will post my order on the un ex spreadsheet as well to make sure everything is on the up and up
19 UNO rec'd. Will ship AG tomorrow.

Trade complete, received 2 oz. silver today via USPS. Thank you very much B.C. Flawless transaction, will do business with again in the future

UN-EX ROCKS lol

Whatever role Guy's 100 Uno plays, let's celebrate the enthusiasm it shows. Here's the EDIT of the latest Daily Info Post (above):

" ' Frozen Uno':

Guyinanutshell, 100 Uno, until May 1, 2015, @ uUB5igPeTMUXxfAqMVQ15FidQmtomemJbL (at least to practise setting up separate wallets for equity DVC)"

@ [Guyinanutshell Wrong, me@ Guy already has a trade underway! and] TrueCryptonaire:

If you want to use Un-Ex, Step One is to become a 'Trusted Trader' by completing one trade. If ya wanna try, you post something like 'Trade 2015/001 WTB 10 Uno for .14 Btc'

Then figure out how to put the trade on the trade-tracker. (As first-timers, it's the custom that you send first.)

And I reallyreallyreallyreally hope you become DVC holders. DVC would benefit from having some more coin in circulation.

Mark

Im not clear on equity DVC, I read the blog post on it but still doesn't make sense in my head. How does it differ from DVC backed by physical silver?
Are they one in the same, one is backed by 2 oz. physical silver, and the other by the purchasing power of 2 oz. silver?
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium In-House Exchange on: February 02, 2015, 09:27:48 PM
I'm gonna put some of my UNO on freeze for the next 90 days, any info on what's needed to verify that?

@ Guyinanutshell:  That's great!  It's totally informal right now.  You could just tell us how much, or if you are really motivated, you could provide an UNO address where it will be parked over the period, as that would be easily monitored.  If you will also have active UNO withdrawals for any reason, like petty-cash, trading, etc., then, you might want to have the frozen UNO in a separate wallet*, as withdrawals might automatically pull funds from your reported "frozen" wallet address, even if you maintain the frozen minimum balance in the wallet.

*WARNING:  Separate wallets should be on a separate device, unless you really know what you are doing.  If you don't have a backup, or overwrite certain files, you could permanently lose coins by losing your private keys!!!

@cragv:  I've said it, before, and I'll say it, again, great work!  Also, it seems like you've answered your own question up there.

@IMZ-Mark:  I never did answer your question on the main thread, so here's my official response - "".  Wink

My Frozen UNO address:
uUB5igPeTMUXxfAqMVQ15FidQmtomemJbL

Freezing 100 kgs until May 1, 2015. minimum.
