Perhaps I misunderstood.

My impression was DVC was created through the process you're describing (which I intend to do once I can). But right now, I'm not talking about creating a DVC like that. I'm talking about the trading in DVC that happens on these pages. Or is a person only allowed to buy DVC after they're already a trusted trader? Although in that case, since I'm just asking for someone to buy it for me and hold it in escrow anyhow, would that not be possible?

But if I can't buy DVC, then I guess I'll just go back to observing the exchange for now, as I basically feel comfortable with my UNO holdings. I'm not looking to buy another 10-25 UNO right now, and I'd prefer not to sell even 25 UNO for BTC (or anything, really; but the novelty of DVC and getting the first trade for trusted trader is worth it).

You must be issued DVC before you can trade DVC. It's not just for the sake of it but because this is a trust-based network. Trust *must* be established before the precious holdings can be traded, remembering that DVC stands for Distributed Vault Coin. We're trading on the back of each other's pledged silver, so each member needs to be vetted before trading can be allowed. It benefits the whole system in this way.

I've reinstalled the client on a dedicated SSD (hours ago, shortly after my last post) and though I preserved the blockchain file, it insisted on downloading all over again. I've upgraded my monthly ISP's data quota because I was about to be capped (slowed) and the blockchain has been downloading all afternoon. It's up to 28/09/2014 19:35:49 (block 245898). ETA tomorrow morning, I suppose. DVC will be incoming at that time. I sincerely, truly, deeply hope. Cheers.

Hey, Coinaday. One becomes a TT. Then one suffers 'Verification' (of silver bullion held). Then one is 'issued' with DVC, which are traded only here, among those who also own them -- rare, exclusive. (They attract startling premiums!)

Nyan Coin: I am enthusiastic about having other coins traded here. If you want to become a TT, and put up trades for Nyan/Uno . . . go for it!

My collection of wallets is, for various reasons, small -- I won't set up a Nyan wallet. But I am at this second reading up on Nyan. (Good luck with attracting punters to a pre-mined coin here!)

In defense of the Nxt wallet, Ian and I note that setting up my full Bitcoin client -- 'the Behemoth' -- took nearly two days, and even then Ian had to copy files from his set-up, to 'build' my wallet -- and all that with good Internet speed.

It certainly sharpened our mind to the bloat/light wallet issues!

I am being a bit dramatic, too. Yes, this is frustrating, but as noted earlier, it's not helped by my only opening it once every month or so. Several updates and a reinstallation this week haven't helped, I'm sure. Hopefully smooth sailing from here, once it's all up to date! It's certainly a technological marvel, the NXT system - it's just the wallet's complexities can be daunting at times. We'll get there.

Hey, B.C.! No -- no one can uni-laterally throw the switch on the use of Core-tanium funds.

Project Hoover is a no-profit/maybe tiny profit gig of mine. I am poor, but I have time, so I shall 'hoover' up the Cryptsy bot-bids, which are usually a couple of percent under the mark. Then I shall make up 'Quarters':

if Uno are, say, .0173 on Cryptsy:

.25 divided by .0173 = 14.450 Uno.

Thus, that 'Quarter' will be 14.450 Uno for .25 Btc.

As soon as the .25 Btc 'comes home' to me, it goes back on to the Cryptsy floor.

Results? One: Uno for sale on Un-Ex. Two: a tiny upward pressure on price on Cryptsy.

You only need to put Sent for each party as the Tx. ID can be requested as proof in either case (or indeed the recipient's address can be checked by anyone on the block explorer, if buying/selling cryptos). Thus, I intend on putting a 'Sent' column for both Buyer and Seller (ie. Sent; Y/N) and then the trade can be marked 'Complete'.

This also leaves wiggle room for when a P-WIP is being done (or any other trade where it isn't crypto on both sides of the trade), where both can be marked as 'Sent' but the status wouldn't be changed to Complete until the non-crypto item is received. Will get to this later today (edit. now implemented). Good idea!

@Mark, have a look at the Trade Tracker. We won't use Notes/Comments for this. You're instead filling in your trade and when someone puts 'Accepted', the sheet will enter 'N' under 'Sent' for both users. As you each send your coin, change the 'N' to a 'Y' and when you're both 'green', you can set it to Complete. Give it a try if that doesn't make sense; should be easy enough, hopefully! Guy's already using it for your current trade.

@Everyone, please be sure to use your exact username when entering it in the Trade Tracker. Eg. IMZ should put 'IMZ' and not 'IMZ Mark'. This way, the total counts will be calculated correctly. No biggie, but worth mentioning. Ta.

@Benefactor/bursar Mark: I'm now up to NXT 1.4.11 and it's scanning blockchain starting from height 0. I can't understand why it's taking so long to get through these updates but I'm gritting my teeth and will get through it. DVC will be sent as soon as this process is complete. Thanks again.
