How can you have a ceo of a currency?

He does bring up a good point. It may hurt xcurrency if people are confused about whether or not it is a decentralized currency or a company.

Think bigger... The only way a coin is going to get beside bitcoin is to have mass adoption.  You can bring the masses with chat, voice and video that is annonymous and secure.  Think a better snapchat, instagram, skype... a better user friendly platform will bring folks and lots of nodes.    They then will also be introduced to Xcurrency for payment of goods and services.  This is why I invest in Xcurrency as a traditional non-crypto/tech investor.

I'm with you here, believe me. What I'm saying is that it can be confusing to new investors. I speak to bitcoiners weekly about xc, they go do research and come back to me confused, I'm sure I'm not the only xc proponent who has encountered this situation. They don't know if they are about to invest in a company, a currency, or a company with its own currency.

I think the post I quoted makes it clear that this can be confusing.

They are investing in both a currency with additional software/features.  This will make the currency more valuable and eventually help with the velocity of money make it  a true currency.   Many other coins are going with the black/dark markets which is indicative of their names.   Xcurrency is getting interest by ideas that will be benign to other traditional investors, users and companies.  This coin has a chance at mass adoption due to its team and approach.  I have brought others on board by really understanding the overall plan and presenting it an "elevator speech" to get their attention.    I have read your post and you are a great supporter of the community.  I challenge you to think bigger and be excited when you tell these folks how we are different.  This is the exciting times that we can share 2-3 years from now when we look back at this growing platform.

+1000. I am definitely excited! Two weeks ago I traded every last satoshi I had for XC. I need to work on my elevator speech, that's for sure. I know where we are going, just need to convince others...I do have some pretty big btc guys looking at investing, just wish I had more time to chat with them. I might just send them to our thread as we have the most hospitable community in crypto.

Still building nicely, the bigger the base and all that... Pookie, if you are back please just don't act like a prat.

Just read the write up above, wow that's really nice.. Love this coin... Although I am getting more and more tempted every day to say platform...

In a sea of red we r green, alts will be back very soon, and when they are XC will lead

Exactly. All the serious alts have shit the bed over the past few days *except* XC.

Just voted. It seems the one thing people forget about is branding. Reading through the voting thread I saw repeated use of the word "retail." Most retailers wont accept a currency that carries a negative connotation such as shadow, dark or cloak; in doing so it somewhat illigitimizes their businesses. While many people consider certain products and industries taboo the people who own the companies and work in the industries generally have great pride in what they do and consider their businesses very legitimate, further tarnishing their public image is the last thing they want to do.

From a strictly branding point of view monero has a shot, but possibly for Latin American countries. My wife is Cuban and the first thing she said was it sounds like a combination of moneda/dinero, dont know if that was intentional on their part or not.

Good to see us in the top three over there!

Thank you for being respectful.

I'm having trouble with my Microsoft Windows software...

Conclusion: Windows is broken and Microsoft doesn't care... So I'm going to sell all of my Microsoft stock, and tell the whole world about it.

This is what you sound like. If you make investment decisions based on this logic, I feel sorry for you. Majority of issues are a result of user error. All of XC's privacy features are working to for me. Ever stop to think the issue is on your end?

And even if the issue is not on your end, we are still in a beta phase. Please stop thinking the world revolves around you and Dan needs to stop everything he's doing to help you.  Consider yourself fortune that Dan even responds to such a self entitled prick.

XC's privacy features work. End of story.

You're too much. Now you're only a concerned investor, whereas several weeks ago you questioned my reasons for liquidating and chastised others in the community for having xc on mp. See you later guy.

"The difference between then and now is that no fixes happened"

Well at least one fix happened. I now have a working OSX wallet, but I wasn't complaining about that every five minutes. Yes, it is still buggy, and yes I'm a patient adult.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: August 09, 2014, 06:38:18 PM
Oblox, what's your agenda?

You know full well that Privacy Mode is a Rev 2 thing, that XC's doing XChat now, and that we'll be finishing off Privacy Mode with the final Rev 2 update LATER.

So why do you persist with this?

For heaven's sake.

My agenda is that Dan said he was going to help and continues to push it off. He agreed with all the times to troubleshoot. I'm merely giving updates that so far nothing has worked and I'm getting excuse after excuse. If someone is to ask me if XC works, my only answer to give is no, no it does not. I have yet to see these private transfers work. I'll make it a point to continue sharing my experience whenever someone mentions XC as 100% working or the only trustless anon working at the moment. At this point I have moved the majority of my coins to MP and have started liquidating. I'll continue selling into any sort of momentum as a means of exiting the majority of my holdings but leaving some incase something magical happens down the pipeline. I have no desire to crush price, but there will be stalling of upward price action until I get through my coins.

This isn't a threat or an intimidation play but rather the end result of the continued bullshit I am getting here and the backlash from a community that is suppose to be "good to each other" as stated as the first guideline in the OP.

The way I understand it is, there is a MINORITY of people who have a problem using anon transfers. Out of all the people who post in this topic I've only seen it mentioned a couple of times EVER. I believe Dan said it's due to some ISP issue but don't quote me on that.

Dan has to weigh up how best to allocate his development resources. Synch has told you what Dan is focusing on right now. If all you are going to do is continue spamming the topic with the same information you are trolling.

And fyi you write like someone trying to cause as much disturbance as possible, not someone who is genuine.

Yet Dan on at least 5 occasions has attempted to fix this issue I am having so that is why I continue bringing it up. I'm just tired of the excuses and the push backs after we agree on when we will troubleshoot things.

And for the record, I write as a concerned investor. Nothing more, nothing less. There is a reason I diversified my holdings into DRK, XC, and XMR... they all aim for a privacy coin. So far that primary reason of investing into XC has been lackluster. I don't for a second discount Dan's coding ability or experience, let alone his dedication to this project (rather apparent with all the updates), but XC doesn't fit the criteria for me to be vested in at the moment. As someone that put a substantial amount of BTC into it, it's concerning to me to continue to hold on a feature that doesn't work.

Believe what you want. Believe that I have a second account or that I have some other hidden agenda, I do not care. The community is clearly violating it's code of conduct expressed in the OP.

You're too much. Now you're only a concerned investor, whereas several weeks ago you questioned my reasons for liquidating and chastised others in the community for having xc on mp. See you later guy.

Great updates for ease of use, today is gonna be big. I've got some BTC over on Mintpal in case some fool dumps on all the good news Smiley

Today is gonna be big indeed.

My guess is that nobody's gonna dump on our news. It hasn't happened for weeks.

However the market's still tentative to buy on our news because of that whale.

This means the sell orders are still ripe for the picking for anyone who wants cheap coins!

It will be first official release of tor sticks to the masses and i am thinking it is only first step to something really huge that will be released today Cheesy

Anyone think of a catchy name for the tor sticks yet. How about XCiTOR or TorXC? Just a thought!

 TorstiXC ?

Well, we won't use TOR forever. Something altogether more secure is in the works...

does the team ever run out of surprises? You guys are too much  Grin

Back from weekend away guys, all I see is good news, why did the price retrace? In a nutshell?

Cheers all.

Because we had an update.

when's that whale gonna starve?!! Sad

It was a minor dump, relatively speaking. I don't think it was that whale because it wasn't a dump on our news. It just looked like regular old price action for the most part.

In fact, of late there's been no sign of the whale.

I'm fairly certain it was pookie dumping. He showed up in our thread and started being an ass immediately before the dump began. Let's hope he unloaded the last of his xc and stays on the cloak thread.
