Nobody ever cares about new people At least im glad this bug is easily fixable. No. Don't even try to complain about that. In the process of development it is really hard to observe all possible errors. All technologies can have bugs found in them.

Major Bytecoin update Bytecoin source code has been largely updated. 1) The block chain has been moved out of RAM, which cut down the usage from 4 GB to 850 MB. In the next releases it is expected to become as low as 350 MB. 2) The block chain file is now unified across all platforms. When you run the new binaries, the daemon will automatically convert your old block chain to the new format. Your "blockchain.bin" file will be split into 3 files: "blockindexes.dat", "blockscache.dat", "blocks.dat". Next week there will be another significant update! P.S. BCN devs would like to thank all the beta tester from the community that helped them launch this release. https://bytecoin.org/news.php#news1Definitive proof that our devs might be the ones of a very few people in cryptoworld who really understand the technology and are willing to bring it to the whole new level.

Coins can be distributed in whichever way. Such criteria as RATE is waaay more important.
I agree... I know that people from the old community (i dont belong there haha ) hold the majority of coins. If anybody wanted to kill BCN they would have done it already, but they proved the opposite. So im just chilling here, keeping track of other things.

In a mood to tell my opinion
I think Bytecoin is the tremendous thing to happen to crypto world since litecoin. It's software is on a higher step than other crypto currencies , it's even much more significant than litecoin.
The growing number of "clones" can be a good demonstration of Bytecoin's significance.

Also donating to charities is not about tax minimisation because they're tax deductible. I donate approx. 5k a year to charities in Australia. This offsets about (approx.) $2k in tax meaning it only costs me a net of $3k. Do the math, you're not saving money by donating.
The reason why tax deductions occur is it is a way to force government to support your charities. I.e. $3k from me and $2k from the government they would have otherwise collected in tax.

Donate to a charity because you believe in the charity. If you can go through the process of acquiring bitcoin with dollars, you can give dollars to a charity.
|
|
|
Donating to a charity shouldn't be about propping up Bitcoin. Don't you think these organisations have a hard enough time competing for funds without being appropriated as a sled for bitcoin promotion?

Miners and full-node operators should view any updates with great skepticism, and only update after an extended vetting process by other developers.

Development, above all needs to become more distributed and rivalrous. If I the US govt is smart, they will be using Gavin and the foundation to perpetuate the unfortunate culture of consensus surrounding responsibility for the core protocol code.
|
|
|
Even more dangerous (in my opinion) is the reverence with which bitcoiners treat the foundation as the home of core development.

Here's the most important part
"Two weeks later, members of the House Appropriations Committee announced they have concerns with “virtual currencies like bitcoin” and are awaiting a briefing from the FBI regarding criminals and terrorists using virtual currencies to illegally launder and transfer money. Lobbyist at work!"
Forget NASCAR, crowdfund Lobbyists bitcoiners.

Ashton Kutcher was an early investor in Skype, Spotify, and Airbnb. Of course he sees Bitcoin as an amazing opportunity.

I am planning to buy a Lamassu ATM soon which I guess could be set up there. Unfortunately the order takes about 3 months to complete, so it won't be until summer that it can be installed.

I did too back in July, and it ended up costing me $187. Never again.

In the case of a full scale war between Russia vs UN/NATO forces, how safe would BTC-E be? (I assume BTC-E is based in Russia, correct me if I'm wrong) or should I withdraw everything from BTC-E now? any advice?

Heard btc-e enables worldwide Visa and Mastercard withdrawals! https://btc-e.com/news/201 And this is actually amazing. However what is interesting to find out is what company or payment entity they use for this service.

Great! You should consider changing to 4 decimal places, as a minimum, in your Bitcoin pricing mode. Any 100 oz Silver bars coming?
