These XMR-shorters should learn to listen to Risto. Very limited upside for unattractively a lot of risk. Long is trend, long is the game.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: March 06, 2016, 12:42:33 AM
Secuntraceable Privungible !

edit, just read this. Aminorex and me are similar minded
Untrinklacable prifungibilacy.  It's got rhythm.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: March 01, 2016, 10:44:53 AM
If someone put a big buy wall (maybe 20BTC+) at the current price do you think it would just sit there or would people dump into it?

Asking for a friend.

What is your intent?  If it's to artificially prop up the price, please don't bother.  If you honestly wish to absorb 20 bitcoins at these prices, feel free.  You will likely end up owning 1 - 2% like me and being an Aeon Leviathan.

Alternatively, hit the ask a little every day for a month or two.

Alternatively alternatively, go full autism like I did and slam your bitcoins again and again into the ask stack, getting drunk and yelling slurs at your monitor while confusing bots and humans alike.  I can attest it's *almost* worth paying the premium.

I also promise your wall, should you erect it, is safe from me - can't promise anyone else.

Legend Cheesy

Yeah sorry, it's definite now. No more cheap coins, you had your chance. Here come the 30's.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 24, 2016, 11:03:12 PM
It's starting to look very good for the bulls guys, strap on your seatbelts, we're in for a wild ride!
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: PnF TA on: February 22, 2016, 01:59:45 PM
ALT coins (with the exception of ETH now and LTC now and in the past) are so illiquid that I decided I will never post again publicly about them a priori.

Only my subscribers will know. I will post signals/analysis only a posteriori.

Because for example a nice buy signal if posted as expected can be easily be gamed into a bull trap.

I do this to protect me, my subscribers and the coins. I hope you guys understand.

That said, XMR is still bullish.

Sad to hear this! Followed this thread with great interest.

I'm interested in a subscription. I'll PM.

I'd like to buy some AEON, possible to do an OTC?

edit: nvm, will take this to bittrex
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 19, 2016, 06:59:37 PM
I just hope he ends up market-selling it so that some of my greedy bids get filled Cheesy Then we pump again!  Tongue
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 15, 2016, 08:44:55 PM

Interesting to see what will happen. Could be one last sweep to 0.00186, before breaking out upwards and battling 0.0021 and 0.00235, although the former will be the heavy one..
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 15, 2016, 05:14:32 PM
Did someone go massively short earlier? Lending markets were drained of 50k xmr.
71  Economy / Speculation / Re: PnF TA on: February 13, 2016, 09:08:35 PM
And... XMR 20K is broken. Enjoy the ride  Cheesy

Edit: TBH, I didn't expect 100000XMR to be dumped instantly (through static walls on 20000). The first 50000 were bought anyway. Someone wants desperately out, or, wants cheaper coins. The volume on Polo though still is on the rise. Let's have some popcorn. Smiley

There is that one big wall eager to sell, currently ~20k left and sitting at 195k. After that the asks are pretty thin.
XMR broke 1000btc volume, this is important for whales.

Above 210 FOMO. This could go up to 5K btc volume at least (why not? ETH almost did 50K), so in that case I expect a new ATH, maybe 0.01+

But first we need to break 210. Tongue

Quite the resistance at 0.002-0.0021 area, seemed to have broken it now.

Currently the battle is around 0.00235, but that isn't a major one, next huge one will be 0.00265-0.0027 correct? After that, all bets are off...
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 13, 2016, 08:23:01 PM
did monero just broke out on a largest daily volume ever from a double bottom of an all time low?

We're about 5% volume away from a weekly record as well. All volume records are being crushed atm.
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: PnF TA on: February 13, 2016, 09:21:17 AM
What's the target in case of a slingshot?
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 12, 2016, 08:31:50 PM
Quick guys, dump it back down, we're rising a little...
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 28, 2016, 08:23:16 AM
Shorts are out in force today.

They're borrowing about 3,000 XMR from me.  Probably the ones at 0.00144.

I'd guess a total of 12k are being lent ATM.

If anybody wants to squeeze them, LMK and I'll pull my the rest of my coins off the lending and Sell markets.   Cool

Looking at the 3 min, seems like a lot of dumping last night and a lot of asks placed lower. Bid side is a bit damaged, hopefully it will recover (perhaps some bids are riding on another pump). Thus far we managed to hold the support at the lower 140ks.

You can thank me for part of it. Learnt my lesson last year, but this community and coin is about making money and not giving it value (yes it's kinda dubious). Will buy back around 105k (even if it takes a few weeks to get there, and it will, because not enough people believe it as a store of value). I suspect the community is very small also, all they do is pick fights in other threads, social media etc and even real vendors called them out for it despite being warned for the last 2 years about this negative strategy. Look at the alt section now, 10s of Ethereum threads but there is no complaint from the trolls even though ICO is a complete scam objetive regardless of the tech. Why? Just because this coin was launched in a fair manner and the tech is best in class is not enough. On top of that the community is full of posers dumping on each other.

Hi spoetnik Smiley or are you just his little bitch?
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 26, 2016, 03:18:13 PM
Alright guys, time for someone to step up and blast us through the resistance at 167k. 22k xmr is all it takes Cheesy

See you at the next stop @ 175k.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 24, 2016, 02:03:40 PM
The timing of the 30k dump corresponds to the bitcoin 'pump' to 400. Historically this has happened a lot across the whole alt-board, an invese reaction, effectively being usd-stable.  Lately some pairs seem to have decoupled (eth for example). Judging by the aftermath of this particular situation (not much happened after that dump) as well as the past couple of days, it could be that xmr is also in the process of decoupling from the bitcoin action. It would be very interesting what this means looking forward.

Comparing Monero's market-cap vs other top-10 crypto projects there's definitely a very attractive upside.

Just seeing this thread now. Great stuff, thanks Klee!
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics on: January 21, 2016, 12:40:15 PM
EDIT: referring to the Monero Marketing Team and tactics thread I refuse to bump in case that wasn't obvious

I was threatened and received unfair and spiteful censorship in the two official Monero threads, so I was forced to copy my posts to a thread where the Monero gulag doesn't have the ability to delete my posts.

Seems that troll thread is factually correct on some of the controlling and manipulative tactics employed by the Monero community. I haven't read the entire thread, so I can't say if I agree with everything written there.

If that is your objectivity, I don't see what I could gain from your contribution to my work. Sounds like you would just bog my work down with needless political nonsense. I will never be a bitch to some community political morass. I will stay focused on getting the technology and marketing correct, if I continue in crypto. I have no idea what you all are doing in Monero. Seems like you all excel and put inordinate effort into patting yourselves on the back and boasting about how great you are and how you have the best devs and it is inevitable that you will win the long-term race because you have the best community and all that pumped up ego shit delusion.
Were they nasty to you? Well they are nasty people. You are most welcome here, friend.

well we remember how monero bag holder bully and intimidate to to get what they want, so  monero ppl threaten TPTB is not a big surprise here

Monero (No.13 in market capitalization) is promising and has better anonymity but it still lacks an official GUI client though there are third party GUI options available. [SEE UPDATE BELOW] More importantly, I have personally witnessed many of Monero’s representatives employing questionable marketing tactics that often involve trolling and bullying and as such we have decided not to accept it at this point in time as a matter of principle. We even received a strongly worded anonymous warning to threaten to boycott and spread negative publicity about us if we continued to accept Dash. We strongly believe in healthy competition and hope that Monero’s official team takes a stronger stance in regulating its spokespersons (even if they may be on paper unofficial). We look forward to accepting Monero once these problems are rectified.

"We even received a strongly worded anonymous warning to threaten to boycott and spread negative publicity about us if we continued to accept Dash. "

Wow, that is just horrible. Whichever 'proponent' of monero that was should be very ashamed of himself. If it happened to be a reverse troll, that's even lower. (Since it was an anonymous threat it can't be discounted. Nasty tactics on both sides are being used)

Anyways, I wish this whole childish ridiculous battle could just come to an end. It's counter productive for both parties, and frankly makes us all look bad. See the response of the the merchant above. Luckily he took the effort to join the IRC-channel which resolved it more or less, but I can imagine other people being totally put off by this kind of shit.

Quote
I had a pleasant chat with some of the Monero community in their IRC channel and hopefully it’s the action of a few individuals rather than a big proportion of the community and it is unfair of us to make generalizations of the entire community from a handful of bad experiences (be it personal). We however hope that Monero could issue out a public notice that such marketing/messages are frowned upon to distance themselves from such unhealthy behaviour that is affecting their brand. We will look into accepting Monero once we can figure out a way to charge Monero in USD terms automatically.

I have my preferred project, others have theirs. Big fucking deal. Criticism is ok, but these guerilla wartactics are just retarded.

Interestingly enough, xmr is creeping towards its market-cap all time high Smiley
