Is there an ETA for the new release?
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 10, 2015, 12:07:45 PM
I think gui should be releases in summer. And mid next year there should be a hard fork of monero. But not sure if this is correct though.

Maybe not the best place to ask, but why does it take so much more time?

It's a matter of prioritization, really. Check out the dev roadmap on getmonero.org, and see what they've done instead.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 09, 2015, 09:48:39 PM
Almost a thousand moneroj for 1 btc. We'll be looking back on this with remorse gents...
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 07, 2015, 12:04:46 PM
I've been slowly buying more since I think this is the final time we will ever get to see .00105-.0015 ever again.
I've also convinced some more friends to each put in $1k in. I help them get cold wallets to store it in too, I hope they appreciate the effort in 2-3 years when they have several hundred Gs  Grin

Can't wait for that v0.9 to come, I've been itching for that release for about 7 months now right? It will be worth it to see the reaction of all the XMR Fudsters and non-believers.  Wink

Sounds like a really horrible idea. They will blame you if they lose the money.

I think it really depends. If you clearly explain that it's highly volatile and a speculative bet, but with immense potential to the upside while 'only' 100% downside, it's fine I guess. Just don't have them bet the farm, but an amount which they won't miss, but are happy when doubled. If someone has hardly any savings, don't. If they have a healthy portfolio or a decent chunk of savings, plus they don't plan on retiring soon, for the love of god let them get a fraction of that in xmr. I think that is actually a crime if you NOT recommend doing so (be it a very tiny percentage). It is their choice in the end. It's all about presenting the full picture (up AND downside, opportunities AND risks), and not hypesell them into pooring shitloads into it.

I've done this, and yes, i get shit sometimes since we're down, more of a joke/making fun really. But I don't feel like I've mislead them or anything (and so don't they). I've clearly laid out how i see things, and not one of them did an amount which I consider too crazy looking at their financial situation. I'm still fairly confident they'll be happy with the advice in the long run. And if not, part of the game. I think the opportunity was good (and could arguably be even better now) so you take a shot. Whatever the result, the opportunity was there. Hindsight 20/20 right?
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unveiling the truth over the major Monero scam on: December 02, 2015, 04:04:48 PM
Very poor 'concern-trolling' going on here.

To read what happened:

tl;dr he was scammed

Charts are starting to look pretty good guys  Cool

Looking at the 3d on btcwisdom I'm becoming more and more optimistic.

We bounced nicely of the 0.001 like we did in mid feb. Heavy dumping has stopped for a good 10 days now. The raging short-bonanza seems over.
Currently working towards a 4th consecutive green candle, which is in fact quite rare. If we make it, that would be a very bullish signal. So far this happened only in strong run ups or reversals. The 3d macd is heading towards a flip over the next week it seems.

Currently we are encountering some resistance at the 0.00135 level. Traders seem to love to continously set asks around that spot. not surprising, since historicly that was a though resitance to break and heavy force was indeed needed to go below it end of october. Let's see how much 'force' is needed to break it to the upside. Next big one up is the 16.5, which will be a toughy. Lots of history on this spot, both support/resistance and this level also coincides with the first fibo.

We're gonna need some volume though, it's a tad too quiet for my liking. Having said that, if we look at the quiet beform the storm earlier this year in january/feb  we're actually doing a bit better. This might be because of the margin-trading which poloniex has introduced since then.

Some great battles ahead, but I'm definitely long here  Kiss

109  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Prediction 2015 ฿ on: November 04, 2015, 11:28:48 AM
Around $600 by year end. But since bitcoin is the honeybadger of assets it won't be a gradual grind up. Volatility will be fully present this year.

Extra prediction: the major rally will not break the ath this time.. will stop around late 8/9 hundred .

getting close  Shocked

Anyone daring to call the bottom yet? I think we're getting close!  Smiley
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 02, 2015, 04:01:05 PM
Thanks for the update smooth.

Is Tacotime still with us?
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 30, 2015, 01:06:40 PM
The trick with monero is not when to buy it,

it's when to sell it.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 29, 2015, 09:01:54 PM
Bid side is shaping up decently. Reversal in the making here? Lil' slingshot would be nice.
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: October 27, 2015, 11:01:33 PM
Thanks so much Luc, for all you share with us. This thread is the best in speculation BCT has to offer by a landslide! I have been reading every single post (actually started wirh your old one) since early 2013. I haven't always listened, but the times I did where good for me.

Would you be willing to do a paid analysis on a different asset than bitcoin? I know your stance on altcoins (shitcoins which people solely trade to gain bitcoins), but a chart is a chart and I know your trackrecord. Is this something that can be discussed?
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you typically gamble in? on: October 21, 2015, 06:56:31 PM
I play a little dice with monero, and trade (which is also gambling a bit) both bitcoin and xmr.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The 2.0 throwdown thread on: October 21, 2015, 06:54:09 PM
Thanks for starting and contributing to this thread guys. Interesting read, I have lots to study.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 21, 2015, 05:27:31 PM
I wonder who has been cashing out. This sell pressure seemed way higher than daily emission. Some of it was shorting sure, but that doesnt amount to full number of coins in the dumps we saw.

If true, wonder what the rationale was.

119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: October 08, 2015, 09:40:31 PM
UPDATE: Funding required for an open source AMD miner (done by Wolf0) currently at 5,031.33/5,750.00 (87.50%) -> https://forum.getmonero.org/8/funding-required/2400/open-source-amd-miner-by-wolf0

That's nice, I would like to see Wolf not hold back on this project. I've read that his previous code was only "partly optimized'. Impress us!

The only thing that won't be fully optimized are the finalization hashes in CryptoNight - simply because they don't matter for speed, and would require me to open source code that could be used in X algos and others.

What about you building in a 1% to devfund-fee instead of a 5% to claymore? Smiley
120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: October 06, 2015, 05:17:08 PM
I will consider escape from range lock when price break up range lock  Grin I have no PC around, this is upper line of horizontal trend posted here many times. It's around $320

So until there I do yawn

Thanks.

What are the odds for us breaking 320 in the current rally, you'd say?

Is there anything you can say about a timeframe on that happening (if ever).

Also, any target for this pump? Will it be another classic buy the rumour, buy the news, sell the launch?
