61  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons Why Bitcoin Price Drops on: October 25, 2017, 04:13:04 PM
News and whales dumping are the usual reasons why Bitcoin takes either a big hike or spike.
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: how to predict bitcoin price increase or decrease? on: October 25, 2017, 04:10:38 PM
Watch the markets and look at the economic sub forum they normally discuss when they are investing and when the investments aren't a good idea.
63  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is an asset or currency. on: October 25, 2017, 04:09:35 PM
Bitcoin is an asset which I think is much more valuable than anything that I own.
64  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin again down? on: October 25, 2017, 04:06:55 PM
Bitcoin will always fluctuate especially after a hard fork wait a few weeks for it to find its true value before investing too much.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about btc future on: October 25, 2017, 03:45:42 PM
I see a lot of optimism about bitcoin, which is understandable seeing the price recently.
But I have to admit I'm a little worried about the long term future of btc.
The major problems if the currency still haven't been dealt with. I see 2 major ones:

-Block size. Which makes the delay and fees of transaction rise very fast. Smaller transactions are more and more difficult to make.
-The centralization of the market. China got low cost electricity, which make them by far the most bitcoin mining capable.
-And maybe others that I'm not aware of.

Another thing: The Hard forks that are oddly getting much more frequent than before. (BCH, BTG, Segwitx2 etc...) It almost looks like "attacks" in order to divide us. Now called "airdrops" by the community. Even though they're supposed to solve some of the problems.

All in all, this makes me really worried about btc future. I've been a strong holder since 2014, and I made quite a lot of money with bitcoins, but I begin to doubt now, even though the price is crushing ATM. Please help me keeping faith. Or should I switch to another currency ? Really thinking about ETH recently.

Hard forks need to happen to help Bitcoin solve its problem for example block size will be sorted in the future via a hard fork.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is changing the world. on: October 25, 2017, 03:40:44 PM
It's certainly making some people stand up and take notice so yes I think its changing the world.
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: Again the bitcoin price falls to $ 4000? on: October 25, 2017, 03:36:37 PM
For the lat three days the bitcoin price continue to falls down.
What do you think guys it will reach $4000 again?

Possibly it's just readjusting after all the hype about free coins. We should see it stabilize later this week.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin core database on: October 25, 2017, 03:35:19 PM
Is bitcoin core database is supposed to be identical on each computer, if they have all blocks till the most recent block downloaded?
If two databases for users A and B have all blockchain blocks do they have them stored in the same order or different?
For example, if we consider some file blk00100.dat should it be the same file for on each computer where bitcoin core is installed and database is downloaded? Or A may have blocks Nx..Ny on his database whereas B may have Ny..Nz on his computer?

everyones blockchain will be the same unless it's not up to date. So you could download it on one computer and move it to another very easily and it would be much quicker. Wallets don't affect the blockchain.

Bitcoin is gambling and should be treated as such investments are gambling. At the end of the day no money is guaranteed.
70  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin so expensive? on: October 25, 2017, 11:24:04 AM
That's because there's so much demand for it if it wasn't as popular it would be much cheaper expect it to keep going up the more people who get interested in it.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AI and blockchain emerging together on: October 25, 2017, 11:17:08 AM
Possibly not sure how it would work but it could be something very interesting if it did happen.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed Transaction Please help! on: October 12, 2017, 02:04:06 PM
It should eventually confirm but you have put a really low fee so will not be very high priority or incentive for the miners. you will just have to remain patient and pay a little higher fee if you want it to confirm quicker next time
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way to keep bitcoins? on: October 12, 2017, 02:01:04 PM
leveraging your Bitcoin with altcoin is a safe and profitable way to store your Bitcoin.
I think Bitcoin wallet in the market is also very safe and practical as long as you use 2FA in your account.
Worst advice possible and from a experienced user.....alt coins are not a way to store your bitcoin. Bitcoin should be stored in cold storage or at least on a wallet before alt coins.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: October 12, 2017, 01:52:45 PM
It's possible. I think when Bitcoin as been completely mined up and there's no new coins being generated which is going to take a long time but will happen thats when we will see a new currency to take it's place.
75  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC passes $5,000 USD milestone on: October 12, 2017, 01:44:42 PM
Now, the next milestone is $8k, I guess if there will be no bitcoin bubble explosion, we could have $8k, $10k, $12 by next year. Smiley I believe at 2020 we will have $20000. If God would bless me and give me 1BTC that time, then I would have a 1 million currency in my country Smiley

Any theories on what caused the sudden spike in price? Do you think the price will hold over the next few weeks? Any speculations for the future?

Big day for BTC, I remember reading threads in 2015 about how "one day BTC will be over 5k USD"... today's that day

More than hopeful though. Hard forks aren't guaranteed to be good for Bitcoin just because it was beneficial last time doesn't mean it's going to be this time and people should be wary of what a hard fork can do.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin won't live to see the next 10 years on: October 12, 2017, 01:38:39 PM
Voted: yes

The last hardfork happened and people were like this is it for bitcoin, and what did bitcoin do? it went up in price.

Moral of the story is: Bitcoin doesn't care

That's some bad thinking there and i hope you didnt invest because it survived the last fork each fork is different and does different things this time it could well go in a downwards motion
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: October 12, 2017, 01:33:01 PM
well fiat is also used to do illegal things. so I don't think this is a valid put down on bitcoin as every currency in the world is used in crime. you could argue fiat as been used more due to the amount of people who use it compared to bitcoin.

congratulations to all bitcoin holders this is something to celebrate but I'm thinking people are buying bitcoin because of the coming fork, where holders will receive the same amount of the new bitcoin fork once the fork start this could be the reason why they are buying more bitcoin

That's true but only one fork will actually be the winner. both might survive but one will be the true victor and be worth more than the other. and the uncertainty of the new fork will cause prices to shoot down during the first 2 weeks
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why those useless bitcoin hardfork every months... on: October 12, 2017, 01:10:33 PM
Bitcoin is desgined a little different than eth so it cant just do a fork like they would plus these forks are to better bitcoin and get the community or miners to decide the outcome of bitcoin
